We present numerical and experimental results of periodic flows inside a rectangular container under a background rotation. The periodic flows are generated by changing the speed of rotation periodically so that a time-periodic body forces produce the unsteady flows. In numerical computation, a parallel-computation technique with MPI is implemented. Flow visualization and PIV measurement are also performed to obtain velocity fields at the free surface. Through a series of numerical and experimental works, we aim to clarify, if any, the fundamental reasons \ulcornerf discrepancy between the two-dimensional computation and the experimental measurement, which was detected in the previous study for the same flow model. Specifically, we check if the various assumptions prerequisite for the validity of the classical Ekman pumping law are satisfied for periodic flows under a background rotation.

The rotational barrel type equipment has been designed for the new rheology fabrication process. During the continuous rotation of barrel with a constant temperature, the shear rate is controlled with the rotation speed and rotation time of barrel. The barrel surface can be controlled the temperature by the induction heating and cooling system. Many experiments were widely examined by using this system with controlling the rotation speed and the rotation time. The possibility for the rheoforming process was investigated with microstructural characteristics.

In an attempt of clarifying the connection between the photospheric abundance anomalies and the stellar rotation as well as of exploring the nature of "normal A" stars, the abundances of seven elements (C, O, Si, Ca, Ti, Fe, and Ba) and the projected rotational velocity for 46 A-type field stars were determined by applying the spectrum-fitting method to the high-dispersion spectral data obtained with BOES at BOAO. We found that the peculiarities(underabundances of C, O, and Ca; an overabundance of Ba) seen in slow rotators efficiently decrease with an increase of rotation, which almost disappear at $v_esin\;i{\gtrsim}100km\;s^{-1}$. This further suggests that stars with sufficiently large rotational velocity may retain the original composition at the surface without being altered. Considering the subsolar tendency(by several tenths dex below) exhibited by the elemental abundances of such rapidly-rotating (supposedly normal) A stars, we suspect that the gas metallicity may have decreased since our Sun was born, contrary to the common picture of galactic chemical evolution.

In the present study, the effect of blade rotation on blade heat transfer is investigated by comparing with the heat transfer results for the stationary blade. The experiments are conducted in a low speed annular cascade with a single stage turbine and the turbine stage is composed of sixteen guide vanes and blades. The chord length and the height of the tested blade are 150 mm and about 125 mm, respectively. The blade has a flat tip and the mean tip clearance is 2.5% of the blade chord. A naphthalene sublimation method is used to measure detailed mass transfer coefficient on the blade. For the experiments, the inlet Reynolds number is $Re_c=1.5{\times}10^5$, which results in the blade rotation speed of 255.8 rpm. Blade rotation induces a relative motion between the blade and the shroud as well as a periodic variation of incoming flow. Therefore, different heat/mass transfer patterns are observed on the rotating blade, especially near the tip and on the tip. The relative motion reduces the tip leakage flow through the tip gap, which results in the reduction of the tip heat transfer. However, the effect of the tip leakage flow on the blade surface is increased because the tip leakage vortex is formed closer to the surface than the stationary case. The overall heat/mass transfer on the shroud is not affected much by the blade rotation.

the quality of a TV is closely connected with the high quality surface of Braun tube. To get high quality surface an improved grinding system is needed. It has three main parts : the housing part of supporting frame the outershaft part rotat-ed by motor and the innershaft part having eccentricity from the rotation axis of the outershaft. the housing part and the outershaft part are connected by outerbearings, The outershaft part and the innershaft part are connected by innerbearings. Although the outershaft part is rotated at high-speed the innershaft part is not rotated by offset coupling. The high quality grinding surface can be obtained by this mechanism of panel surface grinder, Because the innershaft is unbalanced by eccentricity from rotation axis of outershaft the unbalancing vibration is resulted In this rotor system with high-speed rota-tion the unbalancing vibration makes the opertion unstable. In this research the transfer function is obtained bythe frequency response analysis of finite element model. The simu-lation result is proved by comparing with the experimental result measured by signal analyzer Then the results are corre-lated. in order to improve the design an optimization method is used instead of two-planes balancing method The parts of the 3-dimensional panel surface grinder satisfy the each constraint, The result shows that the design of the panel surface grinder can be optimized.
This study was performed to investigate the effects of tibial rotation while going up stair on muscle activity of vastus medialis oblique and vastus lateralis, and on patellar displacement. The subjects included 30 people (male: 15; female: 15) who were randomly assigned to the tibial internal-rotation, neutral-rotation, and external-rotation groups. The subjects went up the stair while performing the assigned rotations, and the rotation of the hip and the displacement of the patella were measured using a 3D motion analyzer. In addition, the maximum voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) of the vastus medialis oblique and vastus lateralis were measured using surface electromyogram. On the tibial internal rotation, the hip rotation significantly appeared in the same direction and so did on the tibial neutral and external rotations(p<.001). Although the MVIC of the vastus medialis oblique and vastus lateralis did not significantly differ by tibial rotation during the stair ascent, the MVIC of the vastus medialis oblique was higher than that of the vastus lateralis during the internal and neutral rotations (p<.05). In addition, during the stair ascent, the displacement of the patella was more significant during the tibial external rotation than during the tibial internal and neutral rotations(p<.001). Thus, patients with patellofemoral pain are required to be considered the effects of tibial rotation for their rehabilitation.
Surface subsidence caused by mining subsidence has an impact on neighboring structures and utilities. In other words, subsurface voids created by mining or tunneling activities induce soil movement, exposing buildings to physical and/or functional destruction. Soil-structure is evaluated employing probability distribution laws to account for their uncertainty and complexity to estimate structural vulnerability. In this study, to investigate the displacement field and surface settlement profile caused by mining subsidence, on the basis of a Winklersoil model, analytical equations for the moment-rotation response ofsoil during mining induced ground movements are developed. To define the full static moment-rotation response, an equation for the uplift-yield state is constructed and integrated with equations for the uplift- and yield-only conditions. The constructed model's findings reveal that the inverse of the factor of safety (x) has a considerable influence on the moment-rotation curve. The maximal moment-rotation response of the footing is defined by X = 0:6. Despite the use of Winkler model, the computed moment-rotation response results derived from the literature were analyzed through the ELM-SVM hybrid of Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) and Support Vector Machine (SVM). Also, Monte Carlo simulations are used to apply continuous random parameters to assess the transmission of ground motions to structures. Following the findings of RMSE and R2, the results show that the choice of probabilistic laws of input parameters has a substantial impact on the outcome of analysis performed.

Ion beam sputtering has been widely used in Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), and Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES) for depth profile or surface cleaning. However, mainly due to severe matrix effects such as surface composition change from its original composition and damage of the surface generated by ion beam bombardment, conventional sputtering skills using mono-atomic primary ions with energy ranging from a few hundred to a thousand volts are not sufficient for the practical surface analysis of next-generation organic/inorganic device materials characterization. Therefore, minimization of the surface matrix effects caused by the ion beam sputtering is one of the key factors in surface analysis. In this work, the electronic structure of a $Ta_2O_5$ thin film on $SiO_2/Si$ (100) after Ar Gas Cluster Ion Beam (GCIB) sputtering was investigated using X-ray photoemission spectroscopy and compared with those obtained via mono-atomic Ar ion beam sputtering. The Ar ion sputtering had a great deal of influence on the electronic structure of the oxide thin film. Ar GCIB sputtering without sample rotation also affected the electronic structure of the oxide thin film. However, Ar GCIB sputtering during sample rotation did not exhibit any significant transition of the electronic structure of the $Ta_2O_5$ thin films. Our results showed that Ar GCIB can be useful for potential applications of oxide materials with sample rotation.

In this study, NIMAX material has been processed using the three-dimensional measuring instrument and white light interferometer. they were tested to roundness and surface roughness and results are as follows: As for a cutting characteristic, it indicated that F4 showed a lower result than 2F showed due to the high hardness of the material and showed a good result when spindle rotation speed and tool feed were low. As for the measurement of roundness through 3-Dimensional measuring machine, it indicated that 4F showed a good result like the condition of cutting component and that roundness showed a good result when spindle rotation speed of 1,700 rpm and tool feed speed of 85 mm/min were applied. As for the surface roughness of processing surface, Surface roughness showed better 4F than 2F and conditions of spindle rotation speed 1,700 rpm, tool feed rate 55 mm/min showed good results in the Ra $0.4025{\mu}m$.
