Least-Squares Support Vector Machine for Regression Model with Crisp Inputs-Gaussian Fuzzy Output

  • Least-squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) has been very successful in pattern recognition and function estimation problems for crisp data. In this paper, we propose LS-SVM approach to evaluating fuzzy regression model with multiple crisp inputs and a Gaussian fuzzy output. The proposed algorithm here is model-free method in the sense that we do not need assume the underlying model function. Experimental result is then presented which indicate the performance of this algorithm.

  • Support vector machine (SVM) has been very successful in pattern recognition and function estimation problems for crisp data. This paper proposes a new method to evaluate interval regression models for crisp input-output data. The proposed method is based on quadratic loss SVM, which implements quadratic programming approach giving more diverse spread coefficients than a linear programming one. The proposed algorithm here is model-free method in the sense that we do not have to assume the underlying model function. Experimental result is then presented which indicate the performance of this algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose a support vector machine (SVM) based gas classifier that can support real-time self-learning. The modified sequential minimal optimization (MSMO) algorithm is employed to train the proposed SVM. By using a shared structure for learning and classification, the proposed SVM reduced the hardware area by 35% compared to the existing architecture. Our system was implemented with 3,337 CLB (configurable logic block) LUTs (look-up table) with Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ FPGA (field programmable gate array) and verified that it can operate at the clock frequency of 108MHz.

  • This paper proposes a design of RSIDS(RST and SVM based Intrusion Detection System) using RST(Rough Set Theory) and SVM(Support Vector Machine) algorithm. The RSIDS consists of PrePro(PreProcessing) module, RRG(RST based Rule Generation) module, and SAD(SVM based Attack Detection) module. The PrePro module changes the collected information to the data format of RSIDS. The RRG module analyzes attack data, generates the rules of attacks, extracts attack information from the massive data by using these rules, and transfers the extracted attack information to the SAD module. The SAD module detects the attacks by using it, which the SAD module notifies to a manager. Therefore, compared to the existing SVM, the RSIDS improved average ADR(Attack Detection Ratio) from 77.71% to 85.28%, and reduced average FPR(False Positive ratio) from 13.25% to 9.87%. Thus, the RSIDS is estimated to have been improved, compared to the existing SVM.

  • It is important to control performance and a Sustainable Collaboration (SC) for the successful Supply Chain Management (SCM). This research developed a control model which analyzed SCM performances based on a Balanced Scorecard (ESC) and an SC using Support Vector Machine (SVM). 108 specialists of an SCM completed the questionnaires. We analyzed experimental data set using SVM. This research compared the forecasting accuracy of an SCMSC through four types of SVM kernels: (1) linear, (2) polynomial (3) Radial Basis Function (REF), and (4) sigmoid kernel (linear > RBF > Sigmoid > Polynomial). Then, this study compares the prediction performance of SVM linear kernel with Artificial Neural Network. (ANN). The research findings show that using SVM linear kernel to forecast an SCMSC is the most outstanding. Thus SVM linear kernel provides a promising alternative to an SC control level. A company which pursues an SCM can use the information of an SC in the SVM model.

  • 본 논문에서는 Support Vector Machines (SVM) 을 이용하여, 빠르고 정확한 두 convex한 클러스터 간의 거리 측정 방법을 제시한다 제시된 방법에서는, SVM에 의해서 생성되는 최적 다차원 평면이 두 클러스터간의 최소 거리를 계산하는데 사용된다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 이러한 두 클러스터 간의 최적의 거리를 사용하여, Fuzzy Convex Clustering (FCC) 방법 (1) 에 의해서 생성되는 Convex 클러스터들을 묶어주는 효과적인 클러스터 결합 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 그러므로, 데이터의 부적절한 표현을 유발하지 않고도 클러스터들의 개수를 좀 더 줄일 수 있었다. 제시한 방법의 타당성을 위하여 여러 실험 결과를 제시하였다

  • For effective mobility control of UGV(unmanned ground vehicle), the terrain cover classification is an important component as well as terrain geometry recognition and obstacle detection. The vision based terrain cover classification algorithm consists of pre-processing, feature extraction, classification and post-processing. In this paper, we present a method to classify terrain covers based on the color and texture information. The color space conversion is performed for the pre-processing, the wavelet transform is applied for feature extraction, and the SVM(support vector machine) is applied for the classifier. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a promising classification performance.

  • As the competition in business becomes severe, companies are focusing their capacity on customer relationship management (CRM) for survival. One of the important issues in CRM is to build a purchase prediction model, which classifies customers into either purchasing or non-purchasing groups. Until now, various techniques for building purchase prediction models have been proposed. However, they have been criticized because their performances are generally low, or it requires much effort to build and maintain them. Thus, in this study, we propose the support vector machine (SVM) a tool for building a purchase prediction model. The SVM is known as the technique that not only produces accurate prediction results but also enables training with the small sample size. To validate the usefulness of SVM, we apply it and some of other comparative techniques to a real-world purchase prediction case. Experimental results show that SVM outperforms all the comparative models including logistic regression and artificial neural networks.

Context Dependent Fusion with Support Vector Machines (Support Vector Machine을 이용한 문맥 민감형 융합)

  • Context dependent fusion (CDF) is a fusion algorithm that combines multiple outputs from different classifiers to achieve better performance. CDF tries to divide the problem context into several homogeneous sub-contexts and to fuse data locally with respect to each sub-context. CDF showed better performance than existing methods, however, it is sensitive to noise due to the large number of parameters optimized and the innate linearity limits the application of CDF. In this paper, a variant of CDF using support vector machines (SVMs) for fusion and kernel principal component analysis (K-PCA) for context extraction is proposed to solve the problems in CDF, named CDF-SVM. Kernel PCA can shape irregular clusters including elliptical ones through the non-linear kernel transformation and SVM can draw a non-linear decision boundary. Regularization terms is also included in the objective function of CDF-SVM to mitigate the noise sensitivity in CDF. CDF-SVM showed better performance than CDF and its variants, which is demonstrated through the experiments with a landmine data set.
