Stress wave법에 의한 열적 열화된 목재의 휨탄성계수 예측 (Estimating MOE of Thermal Degraded Wood by Stress Wave Method)

  • The strength and stiffness of structures would be weakened by thermal degradation of wood members which are exposed to a variety of heat including a fire. For this reason, thermal degraded wood members can't pertinently support the load. However, it is easy to repair or rehabilitate wood structures. So, the degraded wood members which can't support the load can be replaced with new members. For the sake of this advantage, there is a need for nondestructive evaluation(NDE) technique, which is very effective to assess wood members in service. In this paper, it was considered whether the stress wave method is adequate to estimate static bending MOE of thermal degraded wood. As the result, the relationship between static bending MOE and MOEsw in elevated temperature was found out significant. Therefore, the application of stress wave method for estimating static bending MOE of thermal degraded zzwood would be possible. However, it is thought that further research for the effects of exposure temperature, time, and thermal degradation on the relationship between static bending MOEb and MOEsw would be needed.

Are Critical Success Factors of BI Systems Really Unique?

  • Business intelligence has been attracting much attention these days. Despite such popularity of BI systems, it is widely known that about a half of BI system projects have failed. To grasp why many BI projects end in failure and what factors would make BI projects less failure-prone, a number of BI studies were made to produce a variety of CSFs. However, there is a paucity of information on whether these CSFs are distinctive from those of typical information systems. By identifying how BI CSFs differ from CSFs of typical information systems, we would be able to explain why most BI projects are more likely to be failure. It is believed that a corrective measure about CSFs will lead to more success in future BI projects. In addition, though there have been a number of similar types of BI systems such as decision support systems and executive information systems in existence, there was no study to determine whether there is ever a discrimination between CSFs of BI systems and the similarly-titled systems. This study is to answer these questions using a literature review analysis. The findings of our study are expected to be helpful in a successful implementation of BI systems.

Design and Implementation of a Connected Car Platform Architecture for New ICT Convergence Services

  • In this paper, we propose a connected car platform architecture called Mobile Second for developing of verity convergence services. A Mobile Second platform architecture is designed to provide more powerful and diverse convergence services for vehicles and drivers by applying technologies of Connected Car and ICT Convergence in various ways. The Mobile Second platform is implemented by applying Tizen IVI and Android to hardware platforms for IVI, Nexcom's VTC1010 and Freescale's i.MX6q/dl respectively. The Mobile Second platform provides the driver with the vehicle's information via IVI devices, mobile devices and PCs, etc., and provides Vehicle Selective Gateway(VSG) and Vehicle Control Framework for the driver to control his/her vehicle, and also provides a web framework to enable the use of VSG's APIs for the monitoring and controlling the vehicle information in various mobile environments as well as IVI devices. Since the Mobile Second platform aims to create new variety of services for Connected Car, it includes service frameworks for Smart Care / Self diagonostics, Mood & Entertainment services, and Runtime, libraries and APIs needed for the development of related applications. The libraries given by the Mobile Second Platform provides both a native library for native application support and a Java Script-based library for web application support, minimizing the dependency on the platform and contributing the convenience of developers at the same time.

개방형 BIM 기반 품질검토를 위한 IFC 속성정보 호환성 테스트 (Interoperability Tests of IFC Property Information for Open BIM based Quality Assurance)

  • The construction industry consists of various and massive architectural information as an architectural process includes a variety of design stages with cooperation of many disciplines. A Building Information Modeling (BIM) serves as a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life-cycle from inception onward. building SMART has developed Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) standard for interoperability of BIM based information. Several software tools are already IFC-compliant. However, there are a lot of problems related to efficient interoperability of software owing to the lack of guide regarding the software usage and insufficiency IFC interfaces of software. The purpose of this study is to suggest efficient IFC support interface development methodologies of existing IFC certified software. The scope of this study is interoperability test for open BIM based quality assurance. To achieve this purpose, the authors have classified subject of open BIM based quality assurance and investigated IFC certification process and certified software. In addition, the authors have exported and imported via IFC files using different IFC interfaces in the software for interoperability of architectural objects and their properties. Finally, the authors have suggested IFC support interface development methodologies and hereafter direction for efficient interoperability of IFC certified software based on open BIM.

The Infant and Child Growth Assistance System Based on a Smartphone

  • Food habit forming the basis for a lifetime of food and nutrient intake is established in early childhood and has an effect to the child's growth, sociality, and obesity. A variety of nutrition screening tools exists for assessing the health and nutrition status of children such as the Growth Curve, for determining if growth is appropriate. Body mass index(BMI) as a more reliable index of overweight to prevent childhood obesity, and Nutrition Quotient(NQ) and eating behaviors questionnaire for young children and parents to estimate their nutrient intake adequate or not. Such tools are mainly used by health practitioners, such as doctor and dietitian to provide nutrition intervention services to children at risk, especially and are not easy to use for general parents, who need assessment at any time and at any place. We propose Growth Assistance System for infants and children, which is possible to assess their physical condition, nutritional status, and eating behavior integrated. To be convenient and portable, it is implemented over the smartphone as an application. The system offers the growth charts, the BMI curves, NQ and eating behavior questionnaire to take a monitoring and the functionalities operate well. We hereby expect this system support the normal growth and development of infants and young children. And also support for the health practitioner (dietitians and nutritionists) to take a role in providing nutrition counseling and education to children needing nutrition services.

CMP: A Context Information-based Routing Scheme with Energy-based Message Prioritization for Delay Tolerant Networks

  • Communication infrastructure supports wide variety of mobile services such as photo and file sharing, location tracking, social network services and instant messaging. However, instances like power-loss and natural disasters disrupt these communication infrastructures unable to render support to these mobile services. Delay-tolerant networks (DTNs) offer a solution to these problems at hand. By utilizing mobility and opportunistic contacts among mobile devices, a plausible communication network can be establish and enable support to mobile applications. This paper presents an energy-efficient, reliable message delivery routing scheme with message prioritization rules for DTN. It uses the context information of nodes (mobile devices) such as the contact history (location and time of contact), speed/velocity, moving direction to determine the best forwarders among nodes in the network. The remaining energy of the nodes is also used to determine the message types a node can deliver successfully. The simulation results show that proposed approach outperforms Epidemic and Prophet routing schemes in terms of delivery ratio, overhead ratio, delivered messages per types and remaining energy.

  • 스마트워크는 정보통신기술을 활용하여 다양한 장소와 이동환경에서도 언제 어디서나 편리하게, 효율적으로 업무에 종사할 수 있도록 하는 미래지향적인 업무 환경이다. 본 연구에서는 다가구주택을 관리하는 소규모의 영세 주택관리업체들이 세입자와 임대사업자에게 양질의 주택관리업무 제공할 수 있도록 스마트 모바일 기기와 SNS를 연동하여 실시간 업무 처리가 가능하도록 하여 효율적 주택관리를 지원하는 주택관리 업무지원 스마트워크 플랫폼을 제시하였다. 본 논문에서는 주택관리 업무지원 스마트워크 플랫폼의 한부분인 SNS 연동 실시간 민원 처리 서비스 부분을 기술한다.

  • ATM은 광대역망에서 여러 형태의 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원하는 수단을 제공한다. 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원하기 위해서는 다수의 우선순위를 갖는 다양한 트래픽을 효율적으로 제어할 수 있어야 하며, 이러한 제어동작을 수행하기 위해서는 망내에 혼잡제어 기능이 요구된다. 이러한 문제를 유연하고 효과적으로 해결하기 위해서는 일반적으로 다단계의 서비스 레벨을 제공하는 방식이 사용된다. 본 논문에서는, ATM망에서 다른 우선순위를 갖는 음성과 데이타 트래픽이 다중화 되어 입력될 경우, 전체적인 망의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 임계치를 가지는 기존의 버퍼와 낮은 우선순위 셀을 수용하는 보조버퍼로 분할하는 방식을 사용하는 버퍼 관리 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 버퍼 관리 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위해 망내에 두가지의 우선순위를 고려하여 모의 실험을 수행하였고, 그 결과 기존의 분할 버퍼를 사용한 방법보다 전체적인 망의 성능이 향상되었음을 확인하였다.

  • With the explosive rapid expansion of computer using during the past few years, security has become a crucial issue for modem computer systems. Today, there are many intrusion detection systems (IDS) on the Internet. A variety of intrusion detection techniques and tools exist in the computer security community such as enterprise security management system (ESM) and system integrity checking tools. However, there is a potential problem involved with intrusion detection systems that are installed locally on the machines to be monitored. If the system being monitored is compromised, it is quite likely that the intruder will after the system logs and the intrusion logs while the intrusion remains undetected. In this project KIT-I, we adopt remote logging server (RLS) mechanism, which is used to backup the log files to the server. Taking into account security, we make use of the function of SSL of Java and certificate authority (CA) based key management. Furthermore, Support Vector Machine (SVM) is applied in our project to detect the intrusion activities.

  • 유화는 재료 상호간의 접착력과 온도 및 습도에 대한 서로 다른 반응으로 인해 매우 다양한 피해양상을 보이게 된다. 그중에서 유화에 있어서 지지대의 평면성 변형은 가장 중요한 피해양상이다. 지지대 변형을 조정하기 위해 사용되었던 열, 압력, 수분과 고전적인 재료의 무분별한 사용은 작품에 오히려 피해를 주는 원인이 되었다. 현대회화 복원에 있어서는 이들 위험요소를 가급적 피하는 방법들이 고안되었고, 실제작품들에 시행되어 만족할만한 효과를 거두고 있다 본고에서는 작업시 작품의 안전성을 꾀하고 복원효과의 극대화를 위해 사용되는 저압 테이블, 변형조정틀과 신소재를 이용한 새로운 지지대 변형 조정 방법을 소개하였다.
