  • 하이퍼미디어 응용들은 다양한 미디어들을 동적이고 비 순차적으로 연결하고 동기화 등의 시간성을 지원해야 한다. 최근 이러한 하이퍼미디어 문서를 표현하는 메타 언어로 HyTime(Hypermedia/Time based Structuring language)이 사용되고 있다.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient index mechanism for real-time main memory database systems. Existing main memory index structures based on the tree can effectively support range searches. However, it doesn't guarantee the real-time characteristic because difference between the access time of a node and an average access time can be high. The index structures based on the hash have always a regular random access time on the simple searches and that speed is very fast. However they do not support range searches. To solve such problems, we propose a new index mechanism called Hyper Tree-Hash (Hyper-TH) that combines ECBH (Extendible Chained Bucket Hashing) and T*-tree. ECBH can be dynamically extended and has a very fast access time. T*-tree effectively supports the range searches. We show through our experiments that the proposed mechanism outperforms existing other index structures.

  • An experimentally measured single footfall trace (SFT) from a walking subject needs to be extended into a continuous force curve, which can then be used as load for floor vibration serviceability assessment, or on which further analysis like discrete Fourier transform can be conducted. This paper investigates the accuracy, applicability and parametrical sensitivity of four extension methods, Methods I to IV, which extends the SFT into a continuous time history by the walking step rate, stride time, double support proportion and the double support time, respectively. Performance of the four methods was assessed by comparing their results with the experimentally obtained reference footfall traces in the time and frequency domain, and by comparing the vibrational response of a concrete slab subjected to the extended traces to that of reference traces. The effect of the extension parameter on each method was also explored through parametrical analysis. This study finds that, in general, Method I and II perform better than Method III and IV, and all of the four methods are sensitive to their extension parameter. When reliable information of walking rate or gait period is available in the test, Methods I or II is a better choice. Otherwise, Method III, with the suggested extension parameter of double support time proportion, is recommended.

  • An important use of data warehousing is to provide temporal views over the history of source data. It is significant that nearly all data warehouses are dependent on relational database technology, yet relational databases provide little or no real support for temporal data. Therefore, in is difficult to obtain accurate information for time-varying data. In this paper, we are going to design a temporal data warehouse to support time-varying data efficiently. For this purpose, we present a method to support temporal query by combining a temporal query process layer with the relational database which is used as a source database in an existing data warehouse. We introduce the Temporal Aggregate Tree Strategy (TATS), and suggest its algorithm for the way to aggregate the time-varying data that is changed by the time when the temporal view is created. In addition, The TATS and the materialized view creation method of the existing data warehouse have been evaluated. As a result, the TATS reduces the size of the fact table and it shows a good performance for the comparison factor in case of processing the query for time-varying data.

  • PURPOSE: The aim of this study is to compare the spatio-temporal gait parameters between paretic and non-paretic limb while stepping over the different obstacle's heights in subjects with stroke. METHODS: Nine subjects with stroke were participated in this study. Subjects were asked to step over obstacles with a different height. 8 camera motion analysis system(Motion Analysis Corporation, Santa Rosa, USA) was used to measure spatio-temporal parameters. The two way repeated measurement ANOVA was used to compare spati-temporal gait parameters between paretic and non-paretic limbs while stepping over a different obstacle's height(0cm, 10cm, 20cm). RESULTS: Step width, velocity, single supoort time, and double support time were not different among obstacle's height(p>0.05) but stride length, step length, and cadence were significantly different(p>0.05). In stride length, cadence, and double support time, the interactions between obstacle's heights and limbs were not different(p>0.05) but it was significantly different in velocity, step length, and single support time(p<0.05). Velocity, stride length, cadence, and double support times were not different between paretic limb and non-paretic limb(p>0.05) but step length and single support times were significantly different between paretic limb and non-paretic limb(p<0.05). CONCLUSION: These results show that there are differences with spatio-temporal gait parameters among obstacle's heights and between paretic and non-paretic limb during obstacle crossing in subjects with stroke.

  • This paper, in order to minimize the ground waiting time of an Air tanker, the queuing theory, that is, a queue that calculates the waiting time under single-server and multi-server situations, was used in the study. Since the national budget and resources are limited, the unlimited increase of the logistics support service team is limited. Therefore, the number of logistic support service teams that can adaptively control the ground waiting time according to the wartime preparation stage or war environment was calculated. The results of this study provide a stipulated standard for calculating the optimal number of air tanker logistic support service teams of the Air Force, providing a basis for the logistical commander to assign logistic support service teams to each stage from peacetime to wartime.

  • PURPOSE: The Purpose of this study was on determine whether stair gait exercise and lamp gait exercise might increase the gait ability of the patients with stroke METHODS: Fourty five patients with stroke were randomly assigned to plane gait exercise group(n=15) and ramp gait exercise group(n=15) and stair gait exercise group(n=15). During four weeks, each group participated thirty minutes for five times per week. Subjects were assessed using pre-value and post-value measurement gait ability(Step length, Heel to heel base of support, Step time, Double support ratio, Gait velocity). RESULTS: These finding suggest that stair gait exercise group was significant in Step length, Heel to heel base of support, Step time, Double support ratio, Gait velocity(p<.05). And lamp gait exercise group was only significant increase in Step time, Gait velocity(p<.05). In comparison of three group, stair gait exercise group was high gait ability than other two groups(p>.05). CONCLUSION: This study showed stair gait exercise group can be used to improve gait ability than other two groups. Thus it indicates that the stair gait exercise group will be more improved through the continued gait program.

  • Background: To review the experience that used both ventricular assist device(VAD) and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO) for children with congential heart disease requiring postcardiotomy mechanical circulatory support. Material and Method: Between March 1993 and May 1995, we applied mechanical assist device using centrifugal pump to the 16 patients who failed to be weaned from cardiopulmonary bypass(n=15) or had been in cardiogenic shock in intensive care unit(n=1). The diagnosis were all congenital heart diseases and the ages of patients ranged from 20 days to 10 years (mean age=2.5$\pm$3.5 years). Result: The methods of mechanical circulatory support were LVAD(n=13), BVAD (n=1), and ECMO(n=2). The mean assist times were 54.0$\pm$23.7 hours. Post-assist complications were in orders: bleeding, acute renal failure, ventricular failure, respiratory failure, infection, and neurologic complication. It was possible for 9 patients(56.3%) to be weaned from assist device and 5 patients(31.3%) were discharged from hospital. There was no statistical significant between hospital discharged group and undischarged group by age, body weight, cardiopulmonary bypass time, and assist time. Conclusion: The ventricular assist device is an effective modality in salvaging the patient who failed to be weaned from cardiopulmonary bypass, but multiple factors must be considered for improving the results of mechanical circulatory support ; such as patient selection, optimal time of starting the assist device, and prevention and management of the complications.

  • The present Study investigated on effect of working time and physical work environment on job satisfaction, and is based on a representative survey carried out in the 15 European Union Member States in 2,000 on behalf of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions by Infratest Burke Sozialforschung and a consortium of national fieldwork institutes. In the course of the survey, a total of 21,703 people drawn from the economically active populations in the 15 countries were questioned about their working time, overtime, weekend work, physical work environment, social support of supervisor and co-worker and job satisfaction. Regression analysis and subgroup analysis were employed to examine the hypotheses. It was found that weekend work, overtime and physical work environment associate negatively with job satisfaction. Social support of supervisor and co-worker moderated only relation between working time and job satisfaction. The results provide support for prior quantitative studies partly. Based on these significant research findings, theoretical implications were discussed.

  • This study attemps to identify the factors related to dealing withy work-family conflict of employed women, and to investigate the needs and the methods of support for household labor. Especially, the results of this study aims to be reflected in women's policy from a political point of view. For these purposes, 477 married women those being employed (more than 30 hours per week) and having nuclear family were selected. Statistics were frequencies, means, percentile, and two-way ANOVA. The results were as follows. First, employed mother's housework time is 5 hours 16 minutes on a weekday and 9 hours 32 minutes on Sunday with the exception of market work time. And 84.5% of total housework was performed by housewife. Thus they take chage of work burden(market work and housework), and make a difficulties of cooking and family care. Seconds, the highest needs of support was the change of thought on division of labor, responsibility on housework, and status of women. The next were the needs of the social organization(flex-time, a special holiday for woman workers, home-based work) and the public institution(day-care center, school feeding). Thirds, contributing factors to the needs of support were housewife's age and occupation. So, this two factors were crossed in order to analyze family type by factors.
