Forecast of Influent Characteristics in Wastewater Treatment Plant with Time Series Model (시계열모델을 이용한 하수처리장 유입수 성상 예측)

  • The information on the incoming load to wastewater treatment plants is not often available to apply to evaluate effects of control actions on the field plant. In this study, a time series model was developed to forecast influent flow rate, BOD, COD, SS, TN and TP concentrations using field operating data. The developed time series model could predict 1 day ahead forecasting results accurately. The coefficient of determination between measured data and 1 day ahead forecasting results has a range from 0.8898 to 0.9971. So, the corelation is relatively high. We made forecasting program based on the time series model developed and hope that the program will assist the operators in the stable operation in wastewater treatment plants.

  • The remotely operated underwater robotic vehicle system has been required to inspect some objects such as baffle former bolts and remove foreign objects in reactor vessel of nuclear power plant. In this paper, we have designed the remotely operated underwater robotic vehicle system that includes a long reach arm that is composed of 4 joints to remove foreign objects in a narrow space, a camera for visual test, instrument sensors for vehicle positioning, 4 thrusters for underwater navigation of vehicle, and supervisory control system implemented with industrial PC that includes robot simulator that has the functions of real time visualization, robot work planning and etc.

  • In this paper, the Power Management System(PMS) which based on a decision making system according to power strategy is proposed and implemented. PMS is designed to have functions of power monitoring. controlling, synchronizing load sharing and monitoring of driving engine, etc. PMS consists of the internet communication system(ICS). Remote Management System(RMS) and Sensor Driver System (SDS) ICS transmits the monitoring and supervisory data via Internet to Remote Management System(RMS) in real-time SDS detects various power system data on local generator and utility via I/O interface system. I/O interface system receives various status data and outputs control signals. Implemented PMS is tested with dummy signal to verify proposed functions and shows good results. For future study implemented PMS will be tested under real load condition to merchandize.

Electromagnetic Environment of Transmission Line Based on Full Parameter Online Estimation

  • The parameters of transmission lines have an influence on the electromagnetic environment surrounding the line. This paper proposes a method based on phasor measurement unit (PMU) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) to achieve online estimation of transmission line full parameters, such as resistance, reactance and susceptance. The proposed full parameter estimation method is compared with the traditional method of estimating resistance independently based on SCADA system. Then, the electromagnetic environment is analyzed based on the different parameter estimation methods. The example results illustrate that online estimation of transmission line full parameters is more accurate in the analysis of electromagnetic environment, which further confirms its necessity and significance in engineering application.

  • Fiber optics provide a solution to the problems at interference, capacity and reliability in communication. Approximately 20 kilometera of a six-fiber, multimode, longwave($1.3{\mu}m$), graded index silica glass fiber optic cable was helically wrapped around a phase conductor at a Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO) 154KV transmission line. This paper presents an economic comparison of several fiber optic cable installation alternative and discusses the characteristics at the helically wrapped fiber cable, as well as the entire installation, including high voltage phase-to-ground (PTG) end termination, and splicing. The fiber link was installed for the field trial and practical use with overhead composite optical fiber cable which installation performed a few years earlier some other location and is intended to accommodate not only telephone but also supervisory Control and Data Acquisition(SCADA), protective relaying, and telemetry functions.

  • An experimentation on the on-line fault detection and diagnosis(FDD) system has been performed with HVAC system in he experimental building constructed inside the large scale environmental chamber. Personal computer with a home-made FDD program by pattern recognition method utilizing artificial neural network was connected on-line via Ether-net TCP/IP to the supervisory control server for HVAC system. The FDD program monitored the HVAC system by 1 minuted interval. The results showed that he FDD program detected the sudden or abrupt faults such s those in fans, sensors and heater, etc.

  • We present recent human-vehicle interaction (HVI) research conducted in the area of defense and military application. Research topics discussed in this paper include: training simulation for overland navigation tasks; expertise effects in overland navigation performance and scan patterns; pilot's perception and confidence on an overland navigation task; effects of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) supervisory control on F-18 formation flight performance in a simulator environment; autonomy balancing in a manned-unmanned teaming (MUT) swarm attack, enabling visual detection of IED (Improvised Explosive Device) indicators through Perceptual Learning Assessment and Training; usability test on DaViTo (Data Visualization Tool); and modeling peripheral vision for moving target search and detection. Diverse and leading HVI study in the defense domain suggests future research direction in other HVI emerging areas such as automotive industry and aviation domain.

  • "Attention" is not defined sufficiently. This term incorporates several dimensions or complex information processes such as alertness, spatial distribution, focused attention, sustained attention, divided attention and supervisory attentional control. In practice, however, various aspects of attention cannot be assessed separately with a single test. Moreover, a particular test is never assessing attention only, because the several intervening variables may influence the attentional component. Therefore, one can only assess a certain aspect of human behavior with special interest for its attentional component. This paper attempted to clarify various concepts of attention, reviewed signal detection theories with receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves, and listed practical methods for assessment of attention.

  • 이 연구는 국가 기간산업망인 전력. 철도, 가스, 항공 통의 SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) 시스템 보안을 목적으로 현재 운영중인 가스 SCADA에 대해 시스템, 네트워크, 관리방법에 대해 보안 취약성 평가분석 및 모의해킹을 실시하고 취약분야별 대응방안을 제시하였다. 또한 이들의 결과를 종합하여 Gap 분석을 실시함으로써 사이버 테러 린 해킹 등에 보다 안전한 시스템을 구축하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

  • 국가 및 사회 기반 시설의 제어를 하는 컴퓨터 시스템을 SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition)이라 한다. 대부분의 SCADA 시스템은 과거 폐쇄망과 비공개 통신프로토콜을 사용하기 때문에 비교적 안전하다고 고려되어 시스템보안 및 침해사고 대응 강화는 등한시 되었던 것이 사실이다. 하지만 최근 발생되고 있는SCADA 시스템의 침해사고들은 SCADA 시스템들이 보안위협에 노출되어있음을 의미하며 통신기술이 발전함에 따라 무선통신을 사용하는 SCADA 시스템의 통신망을 통한 불법적인 접근경로는 더욱더 확대될 수 있다. SCADA 시스템은 국가 및 사회 기반 시설의 제어를 담당하는 시스템이기 때문에 침해사고 발생시 심각한 문제가 초래될 수 있기 때문에 관련 보안기술 및 정책 연구가 필요하다. 본 고에서는 이를 위해 SCADA 시스템의 구조 및 발전 단계를 소개하여 전반적인 시스템 이해를 돕는다. 또한 무선통신 기반 SCADA 시스템의 공격 기법을 소개하고 최근 몇 년간 발생한 보안위협 사례와 관련 연구 동향을 분석한다.
