초초임계 화력발전용 터빈 및 보일러소개

  • 석탄화력발전소의 효율향상은 스팀온도 및 압력의 증가를 통해 꾸준하게 이루어지고 있으며, 이러한 고효율의 화력발전은 사용 연료의 감소 뿐 아니라 $SO_x$, $NO_x$, $CO_2$ 등의 환경 가스배출을 감소시키는 효과도 있다. 이에 따라 운전조건을 고온, 고압화하려는 노력이 전 세계적으로 꾸준히 전개되고 있으며, 경제성 있고 높은 고온특성을 갖는 터빈 및 보일러 소재확보 여부가 발전소 건설 가능성을 결정하는 가장 주요한 요소 중 하나로 작용하고 있다. 본 고에서는 USC(Ultra Super Critical) 조건에 사용하기 위한 소재의 개발과정과 현대 사용되고 있는 다양한 발전용 고온소재의 특징에 대해 기술하고자 한다.

250 kW급 초임계 CO2 발전용 감속기의 유체 윤활 베어링 및 회전체 동역학 특성 해석 (Bearing and Rotordynamic Performance Analysis of a 250 kW Reduction Gear System)

  • This paper presents a rotordynamic analysis of the reduction gear system applied to the 250 kW super critical CO2 cycle. The reduction gear system consists of an input shaft, intermediate shaft, and output shaft. Because of the high rotating speed of the input shaft, we install tilting pad bearings, rolloer bearings support the intermediate and output shafts. To predict the tilting pad bearing performance, we calculate the applied loads to the tilting pad bearings by considering the reaction forces from the gear. In the rotordynamic analysis, gear mesh stiffness results in a coupling effect between the lateral and torsional vibrations. The predicted Campbell diagram shows that there is not a critical speed lower than the rated speed of 30,000 rpm of the input shaft. The predicted modes on the critical speeds are the combined bending modes of the intermediate and output shaft, and the lateral vibrations dominate when compared to the torsional vibrations. The damped natural frequency does not strongly depend on the rotating speeds, owing to the relatively low rotating speed of the intermediate and output shaft and constant stiffness of the roller bearing. In addition, the logarithmic decrements of all the modes are positive; therefore all modes are stable.

초초 임계 화력 발전소용 밸브 소재의 산화 거동 (A Study on the Oxidation Behaviors of Power Plant Valve Materials under the Ultra Super Critical Condition)

  • Recently ultra-supercritical steam power plants operate at $1000^{\circ}F$ ($538^{\circ}C$) and 3500 psi (24.1 MPa). Thermal efficiency of power plant will be increased about 2% if steam temperature increases from $1000^{\circ}F$ to $1150^{\circ}F$ ($621^{\circ}C$). In this study valve materials Incoloy901 (IC901) and Inconel718 (IN718) were nitrided to improve the surface hardness and solid lubrication function of the valve materials. The hardness of both IC901 and IN718 increased about two times by ion nitriding. IC901, IN718 and their nitrided specimens were corroded under ultra super-critical condition (USC) of $621^{\circ}C$. and 3600 psi (24.8 MPa) for 2000 hours. Oxidations of both IC901 and IN718 were very small due to the formation of protective oxide layer on the surface. But the corrosion resistance of both nitrided specimens decreased because of the formation of non-protective nitride layer of $Fe_{4}N$, $Fe_{2}N$ and CrN on the surface layer. The hardness of both nitrided IC901 and IN718 at $20{\mu}m$ depth from the surface decreased about 30% and 20% respectively by USC 2000 hours.

  • The first thing in developing injection molding and extrusion with microcellular foaming process is to get a grip on one phase state's rheology of gas and polymer solution. Understanding rheology is essential to design mold or die. and it is so important to control the condition of process. Also, this data is got the utmost out of simulation carrying out. In this paper, we will see the measurement of rheology in one phase that mixed polypropylene which contains talc with carbon dioxide of super critical fluid state, and will compare its result with the simulation result.

  • Heat transfer experiments at a vertical annulus passage were carried out in the SPHINX(Supercritical Pressure Heat Transfer Investigation for NeXt Generation) to investigate the heat transfer behaviors of supercritical $CO_2$. The collected test data are to be used for the reactor core design of the SCWR (SuperCritical Water-cooled Reactor). The mass flux was in the range of 400${\sim}$1200 kg/$m^2$s and the heat flux was chosen up to 150 kW/$m^2$. The selected pressures were 7.75 and 8.12 MPa. The heat transfer data were analyzed and compared with the previous tube test data. The test results showed that the heat transfer characteristics were similar to those of the tube in case of a normal heat transfer mode and degree of heat transfer deterioration became smaller than that in the tube. Comparison of the experimental heat transfer coefficients with the predicted ones by the existing correlations showed that there was not a distinct difference between the correlations.

CO2 초임계 유체에서 열식법을 이용한 다공성 폴리프로필렌 막의 제조 (Preparation of Porous Polypropylene Membrane by a Thermally Induced Phase Separation Method in Supercritical CO2)

  • $CO_2$ 초임계 유체에서 열식법을 이용하여 폴리프로필렌과 켐펜을 혼합하여 다공성 폴리프로필렌 막을 제조했다. 폴리프로필렌 농도 10 wt%의 조건에서 제조된 폴리프로필렌 막의 공극률은 메탄올, 에탄올, n-부탄올에 따라 각각 78, 80, 73%였다. 폴리프로필렌의 농도가 증가할수록 인장강도는 높아졌으며 폴리프로필렌 농도가 10 wt% 일 때 인장강도는 $0.17kg_f/mm^2$였다. $CO_2$ 초임계 유체를 사용하여 켐펜을 추출한 결과 시간에 따라 추출속도가 증가하였으며 5분 경과 후 94% 제거되었다. 온도가 증가함에 따라 추출속도가 증가했으며 $45^{\circ}C$ 조건에서 99% 제거되었다. 그러나 그 이상의 높은 온도에서는 추출속도는 저하되었다. 150 bar의 압력까지는 압력이 증가함에 따라 켐펜의 추출속도는 증가하였으나, 그 이상의 압력 조건에서는 압력이 증가함에 따라 추출속도는 미소하게 감소했다. 추출속도는 $CO_2$ 초임계 유체의 켐펜에 대한 용해도 특성과 상관성이 있었다.

선박용 디젤기관 크랭크 축계의 2절 비틀림 진동에 대한 연구 (A Study on the 2-node Torsional Vibration for Marine Diesel Engine Crankshaft)

  • With the development of computer program in calculation for torsional vibration of ship's propulsion shafting it has become possible to calculate all order's vibratory amplitude, vibratory torque, vibratory stress and synthesis value at all concerned revolutions by way of solving the vibratory equation directly. Though this kind of propulsion shafting vibration calculation method makes it possible to get generalized and precise result of calculation, the unexpected critical crankshaft torsional vibration has still appeared in maneuvering range of the engine. A close investigation has been carried out to find out the cause for the 2-node propulsion shafting torsional vibration of the crankshaft that exceeded the limitation value near the MCR 104rpm on the sea trial of the recently delivered 6000TEU class container vessel from HHIC. In conclusion, as the latest super-output engine with heavy crankshaft and propeller mass seems to be liable to 2-node torsional vibration of crankshaft, it is recommend that, in the design stage of propulsion shafting, its torsional vibration condition must be more carefully checked.

  • MCPs means Micro Cellular Plastics. The micro-cells are generated in the products by the difference of dissolution through the pressure drop after super critical fluid of CO2 or N2 dissolves into polymer. We have developed injection molding process adopting MCPs and applied it to a broad range of injection molded thermoplastic materials and applications. It can prevent the leakage of impact strength and increase the thermal conductivity, moreover regulate the thermal conductivity. Then we can develop the high strength foaming plastics. Also, it can be gained a competitive advantage by utilizing its processing benefits, e.g. the lightweight products and significant reductions in material consumption.

The fabrication of bulk magnet stacked with HTS tapes for the magnetic levitation

  • With the innovative development of bio, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor technologies, it is essential to demand a next-generation transfer system that minimizes dust and vibrations generated during the manufacturing process. In order to develop dust-free and non-contact transfer systems, the high temperature superconductor (HTS) bulks have been applied as a magnet for levitation. However, sintered HTS bulk magnets are limited in their applications due to their relatively low critical current density (Jc) of several kA/cm2 and low mechanical properties as a ceramic material. In addition, during cooling to cryogenic temperatures repeatedly, cracks and damage may occur by thermal shock. On the other hand, the bulk magnets made by stacked HTS tapes have various advantages, such as relatively high mechanical properties by alternate stacking of the metal and ceramic layer, high magnetic levitation performance by using coated conductors with high Jc of several MA/cm2, consistent superconducting properties, miniaturization, light-weight, etc. In this study, we tried to fabricate HTS tapes stacked bulk magnets with 60 mm × 60 mm area and various numbers of HTS tape stacked layers for magnetic levitation. In order to examine the levitation forces of bulk magnets stacked with HTS tapes from 1 to 16 layers, specialized force measurement apparatus was made and adapted to measure the levitation force. By increasing the number of HTS tapes stacked layers, the levitation force of bulk magnet become larger. 16 HTS tapes stacked bulk magnets show promising levitation force of about 23.5 N, 6.538 kPa at 10 mm of levitated distance from NdFeB permanent magnet.

Corrosion Behaviors of Structural Materialsin High Temperature S-CO2 Environments

  • The isothermal corrosion tests of several types of stainless steels, Ni-based alloys, and ferritic-martensitic steels (FMS) were carried out at the temperature of 550 and $650^{\circ}C$ in SFR S-$CO_2$ environment (200 bar) for 1000 h. The weight gain was greater in the order of FMSs, stainless steels, and Ni-based alloys. For the FMSs (Fe-based with low Cr content), a thick outer Fe oxide, a middle (Fe,Cr)-rich oxide, and an inner (Cr,Fe)-rich oxide were formed. They showed significant weight gains at both 550 and $650^{\circ}C$. In the case of austenitic stainless steels (Fe-based) such as SS 316H and 316LN (18 wt.% Cr), the corrosion resistance was dependent on test temperatures except SS 310S (25 wt.% Cr). After corrosion test at $650^{\circ}C$, a large increase in weight gain was observed with the formation of outer thick Fe oxide and inner (Cr,Fe)-rich oxide. However, at $550^{\circ}C$, a thin Cr-rich oxide was mainly developed along with partially distributed small and nodular shaped Fe oxides. Meanwhile, for the Ni-based alloys (16-28 wt.% Cr), a very thin Cr-rich oxide was developed at both test temperatures. The superior corrosion resistance of high Cr or Ni-based alloys in the high temperature S-$CO_2$ environment was attributed to the formation of thin Cr-rich oxide on the surface of the materials.
