Lactose synthase catalyses the formation of lactose which is the major osmole of bovine milk and regulates the milk volume. Alpha-lactalbumin (${\alpha}$-LA) is involved in the synthesis of lactose synthase in the mammary gland. Therefore ${\alpha}$-LA is regarded as a plausible candidate gene for the milk yield trait. To determine whether ${\alpha}$-LA is associated with milk performance traits, 1,028 Chinese Holstein cows were used to detect polymorphisms in the ${\alpha}$-LA by means of single-strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP). Two nucleotide transitions were identified in the 5'flanking region and intron 3 of ${\alpha}$-LA. Associations of such polymorphisms with five milk performance traits were analyzed using a general linear model procedure. No significant associations were observed between these polymorphisms and the five milk performance traits (p>0.05). RH mapping placed ${\alpha}$-LA on BTA5q21, linked most closely to markers U63110, CC537786 and L10347 (LOD>8.3), which is far distant from the region of the quantitative trait locus (QTL) on bovine chromosome 5 for variation in the milk yield trait. In summary, based on our findings, we eliminated these SNPs from having an effect on milk performance traits.

In this paper, we present a modular pointer analysis algorithm based on the update history. We use the term 'module' to mean a set of mutually recursive procedures and the term 'modular analysis' to mean a program analysis that does not need the source codes of the other modules to analyze a module. Since a modular pointer analysis does not utilize any information on the callers, it is difficult to design a precise analysis that does not lose the information related to the program flow or the calling context. In this paper, we propose a modular and flow- and context-sensitive pointer analysis algorithm based on the update history that can memory states of a procedure independently of the information on the calling context and keep the information on the order of side effects performed. Such a memory representation not only enables the analysis to be formalized as a modular analysis, but also helps the analysis to effectively identify killed side effects and relevant alias contexts.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the costume in $\ulcorner$The Goddess Abides$\lrcorner$ of Pearl S. Buck by applying "Dramaturgical Analysis" of Erving Goffman. The frame of analysis is the dramaturgical conception of Goffman that he expressed in $\ulcorner$The Presentation of self in Everyday Life (1959)$\lrcorner$. Among the conception, I analyzed by applying 'performance', 'technique of impression management', 'region and region behavior' which can be used for studying and costume behavior. The following is the summary of my study. First, the performance means the performer's behavior and the procedure of impression management if face to fact interaction, which includes personal front and setting. Setting is mainly a house on the Mt. in Vermont. The time is Winter. The personal front includes appearance and manner. actors and audiences form impression through persional front. And Istudied the performance of the actors (or actress), Edith, Jared, Edmond, Edwin, Amelia, June. As for technique of impression management, I cold observe that a varieth of that were being used, such as the most general one that Edith wants to look beautiful by making god appearance, or she sometimes try not to look beautiful And when Edith meets Jared, sometimes she changed her clothes, but other times she doesn't do that. As for region and region behavior, there appears the distinction of region and a lot of expressions about clothes related to the distinction. I could observe the expressions showing the movement from front to back and from back to front. Especially I could observe the behaviors that can be occured only in back region in everyday life, that is bathing, changing clothes, making up, checking their appearance before the mirror. Like above when I analyzed $\ulcorner$The Goddess Abides$\lrcorner$ of Pearl S. Buck by Goffman's Dramaturgical analysis, I could find out that the theory was very useful to the analysis of the costume behaviors of the characters.

In this study, the empirical analysis was conducted if the authentic leadership, which recently became an issue as an alternative of leadership, plays the moderating role in the relation between the participative budgeting and the budgetary slack. The hypotheses was established based on the literature review and the results of preceding studies in accordance with the scientific research procedure and the questionnaires were collected from the commissioned officers in charge of financial businesses in the military organization. Out of 200 questionnaires collected, 180 questionnaires were used for final empirical analysis excluding incomplete questionnaires. The summary of the research results shown through the regression analysis is as follows. First, the participative budgeting has positive(+) effect on the budgetary slack. Second, The authentic leadership plays the moderating role in the relation between the participative budgeting and the budgetary slack.

The purpose of this study was to explore perceptions and awareness of traditional Korean wedding ceremonies. For this purpose, I began a literature review and investigated the consciousness about traditional Korean wedding ceremonies among unmarried people. As a result, I discussed the future of Korean wedding culture. Data were analyzed from the sample of 206 unmarried people collected from April 20 to Jun 13, 2009. The data were analyzed by making use of the SPSS program and included Frequency analysis, ANOVA and the $\chi^2$-test. The summary of these results was as follows. First, unmarried people want a special wedding ceremony. They think the appropriate age of marriage is between their 20s and mid-30s. The traditional wedding ceremony is changing, but they think that the meanings behind them will continue. If they married a foreigner, they would want to have a modem wedding ceremony and each of their traditional wedding ceremonies. Second, they have no educational experience about traditional wedding culture(85.4%). Some people who have educational experience learned about traditional wedding culture from their parents or grandparents. Third, most traditional wedding procedures were influenced by Korean customs. Most men did not know about traditional Korean wedding procedures. But if they get married, they will follow traditional wedding procedures (M=3.35). In the future, we will have to succeed Korean wedding culture, for example, Peau back(幣帛), Ham(函), and traditional wedding ceremony.

This paper proposes the Handover Scheme for the mobile and describes the result of the performance analysis. In the conventional scheme of handover request, the withdrawal of terminal may occur because handover request is performed based on fixed signal level without considering network load and terminal mobility. The proposed scheme offers the minimization of withdrawal and handover blocking probability by means of the handover request of terminal based on the network load and terminal mobility. Conventional handover scheme has the sequential procedure that network performs resource check and path rerouting on the handover by MT(Mobile Terminal). Proposed handover scheme pre-processes the resource check before the handover request by predicting the handover request timo so that handover latency can be reduced. Moreover, path optimization is executed after the completion of handover in order to reduce handover latency. The rdduction of handover latency prevents the dropping of service by minimizing backward handover blocking. In summary, we propose the prediction of handover request time and decision method based on terminal, validating the performance of proposed scheme considering various cases of simulation.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a major cause of cancer-related death and cancer-related incidence worldwide. The potential of microRNA-21 (miR-21) as a biomarker for CRC detection has been studied in several studies. However, the results were inconsistent. Therefore, we conducted the present meta-analysis to systematically assess the diagnostic value of miR-21 for CRC. Materials and Methods: Using a random-effect model, the pooled sensitivity (SEN), specificity (SPE), positive likelihood ratio (PLR), negative likelihood ratio (NLR), and diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) were calculated to evaluate the diagnostic performance of miR-21 for CRC. A summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curve and an area under the curve (AUC) were also generated to assess the diagnosis accuracy of miR-21 for CRC. Q test and I2 statistics were used to assess between-study heterogeneity. Publication bias was evaluated by the Deeks' funnel plot asymmetry test. Results: A total of 986 CRC patients and 702 matched healthy controls from 8 studies were involved in the meta-analysis. The pooled results for SEN, SPE, PLR, NLR, DOR, and AUC were 57% (95%CI: 39%-74%), 87% (95%CI: 78%-93%), 4.4 (95%CI: 2.4-8.0), 0.49 (95%CI: 0.32-0.74), 9 (95%CI: 4-22), and 0.83 (95%CI: 0.79-0.86), respectively. Subgroup analyses further suggested that blood-based studies showed a better diagnostic accuracy compared with feces-based studies, indicating that blood may be a better matrix for miR-21 assay and CRC detection. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that miR-21 has a potential diagnostic value for CRC with a moderate level of overall diagnostic accuracy. Hence, it could be used as auxiliary means for the initial screening of CRC and avoid unnecessary colonoscopy, which is an invasive and expensive procedure.

The researchers developed On-line Lesson Planner System so that teachers can make a lesson plan using ICT(Information & Communication Technology) on line. Developed On-line Lesson Planner System can make ICT using lesson plans store in the database, manage them systematically and help maximize share, use and storage of the lesson plans. It can contribute to the school informatization. It is important to suggest solution through analyzing the educational effects and problems appeared during applying to this developed system in real fields. Thus, this study suggests first, procedure of designing the lesson plan using ICT for the development of this system, second. the summary of designing and embodying methods, and third, the improvement and analysis of the effects and problems revealed in elementary school fields. This study provided educational grounds of the solution to the problems and consideration of this On-line Lesson Planner system.

This study was intended to find methods of fire extinguishing system designs that can improve the equipment's usability. In this study, the fire suppression experiment through fire extinguishers and the data drawn through the experiment were analyzed, and then the guideline for the improvement of designs was presented. The procedure is as follows. A fire suppression experiment with the use of fire extinguishers was done by 43 average adults. The whole process of the fire suppression was videotaped, and then captured major scenes were analyzed with the use of RULA, a human engineering measurement tool. The analyzed data were divided into 4 steps, and then the guideline for design improvement was presented. The summary of the study is as follows. Step 1, Fire extinguisher distance step. To reduce overload occurring at the process of holding fire extinguishers suddenly, wheels are attached to the body of extinguishers, or pedestals are installed. Step 2, Fire extinguisher transportation step. The length of hose is extended, or fire fighting water is sprayed far, so that overload of legs occurring at the process of travel can be reduced. In addition, the weight of fire extinguisher shouldn't be over 2 kg. Step 3, Safety pin removal stage. Safety pins should be applied with button type, so that excessive posture of lower limbs and excessive twisting of wrists won't happen during safety pin removal process. Besides, safety pins should be designed for easy identification and operation. Step 4, Fire extinguishing agent spraying step. To reduce overload occurring at sudden spraying of fire fighting water, pressure should be increased gradually until high pressure. With the above study results applied to existing fire extinguisher design, it may contribute to reducing any fire damage.

In this paper, we propose a video summarization technique on a smartphone, based on spatiotemporal saliency. The proposed technique detects scene changes by computing the difference of the color histogram, which is robust to camera and object motion. Then the similarity between adjacent frames, face region, and frame saliency are computed to analyze the spatiotemporal saliency in a video clip. Over-segmented hierarchical tree is created using scene changes and is updated iteratively using mergence and maintenance energies computed during the analysis procedure. In the updated hierarchical tree, segmented frames are extracted by applying a greedy algorithm on the node with high saliency when it satisfies the reduction ratio and the minimum interval requested by the user. Experimental result shows that the proposed method summaries a 2 minute-length video in about 10 seconds on a commercial smartphone. The summarization quality is superior to the commercial video editing software, Muvee.
