In this article, an alternating Fibonacci sequence is defined from a second-order linear homogeneous recurrence relation with constant coefficients. Then, the determinant, inverse, and eigenvalues of the circulant matrices with entries in the first row having the formation of the sequence are formulated explicitly in a simple way. In this study, the method for deriving the formulation of the determinant and inverse is simply using traditional elementary row or column operations. For the eigenvalues, the known formulation from the case of general circulant matrices is simplified by considering the specialty of the sequence and using cyclic group properties. We also propose algorithms for the formulation to show how efficient the computations are.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to report about a 50's female patient after Hemorrhoidectomy, whose symptoms were relieved after Korean medicine treatment with Whidam's SuGi Therapy. Methods : The patient in this study received Korean medicine treatment such as herbal medication, acupuncture treatment, cupping therapy and specially Whidam's SuGi therapy. Results : After the treatment, the symptoms of pains were relieved. Vas fell from 9 to 2 and overall, the body condition has improved. Conclusions : This study showed that Whidam's SuGi therapy added with Korean Medicine treatment can be an effective choice for after Hemorrhoidectomy.

This paper was a quest of pattern of holding "Dae Hak - the Great Learning" during Joseon Period having investigated the characteristics of the Essentials of the Studies of the Sages(聖學輯要, Seong Hak Jibyo) that was compiled by Lee I was a reinterpretation of the Great Learning, and also academic enrichment. During the period of Joseon Dynasty, the Great Learning had held the most important position as core scripture in the intellectual society that pursued Seong Hak(聖學, sage learning). Throughout the Joseon Period, the Great Learning was the essential text for the Emperorship Learning(帝王學, Jewang Hak) as well as Seong Hak, and it can also be said that Seong Hak Jibyo compiled by Yulgok - the courtesy name of Lee I, was the comprehensive collections thereof. While compiling Seong Hak Jibyo, Yulgok presented a model of Seong Hak of Joseon, which was based on "the Great Learning". Yul Gok organized the system of "Seong Hak Jibyo" largely in five parts, and properly arranged the Three Cardinal Principles(三綱領, samgangryeong) and Eight Articles or Steps(八條目, paljomok) therein. Particularly, in the Chapter Two, "Cultivating Oneself(修己, sugi)", Yulgok deal with 'being able to manifest one's bright virtue'(明明德, myeong myeong deok) among the Three Cardinal Principles as the core curriculum, meanwhile, Yulgok also covered "Investigation of things, gyeongmul(格物)," "Extension of knowledge, chiji(致知)," "Sincerity of the will, Seongui(誠意)," "Rectification of the mind, Jeongshim(正心)," "Cultivation of the personal life, susin(修身)," among Paljomok(eight steps) as the ultimate purpose of 'Stopping in perfect goodness'(止於至善, jieojiseon) These well preserve the principal system of Confucianism where "Cultivating oneself and regulating others (修己治人, sugichiin)" are core value, and his instructions as such also back up academic validity logically by presenting specific guidelines for practice according to each domain. Reinterpretation of "The Great Learning" by Yulgok in Seong Hak Jibyo is an arena to investigate the characteristics of Confucianism in Joseon Period, which was different from that of China, furthermore, such guidelines might take a role as criteria to understand the characteristics of humans and learning possessed by Korean people.

So far there has been a strong tendency to study The Great Learning in terms of quite" limited ethical and moral understandings." Yet The Great Learning was originally a political text to educate the ruler. So the ethical and moral understanding discussed in the book should be interpreted as something more comprehensive and practical, which includes the political ability. This paper thus focuses on this new line of understanding of The Great Learning. Among the three principles of the book, 'Myeongmyeongdeok( 明明德)' means the virtue of a politician, that is to 'cultivate (Myeong)' the 'properties for a statesman (Myeongdeok).' 'Sinmin (新民)' means 'to innovate or reform the people as a result of substantive administration of a politician'. 'Jieojiseon (止於至善)' means 'to reach and to maintain the highest degree of goodness as a result of Myeongmyeongdeok and Sinmin'. These three principles would divide into eight practicums. Myeongmyeongdeok would divide into five steps of 'Sugi(修己: Cultivating the self)' practicum, which are 'Gyeokmul (格物) → Chiji(致知) → Seongeui(誠意)→ Jeongsim (正心)→ Susin (修身)'. Sinmin would divide into three steps of 'Chiin (治人: rule the people)' practicum which are 'Jega(齊家) → Chiguk(治國) → Pyeongcheonha(平天下).' And the point where the two practicums are harmonized, i.e. that of Sugichiin (修己治人), is the place of Jieojiseon. Not every ethical people become a politician but every politician must be ethical. That is the assertion of the Great Learning.

This study investigated the flame retardant performance of developed four types of flame retardant chemicals (FRC), FRC-A, B, C and D. Four kinds of soft wood species, Sugi (Cryptomeria), Spruce (Picea abies), Hinoki (Chamaecyparis obtusa) and Korean pine (Pinus koraiensis), were used. The wood specimens were treated by spreading the FRC on the surface with different quantities, 30, 50, 70, 90, 110 g/$m^2$, respectively. The charred area, charred length, after flame time and after glow time were tested. And their suitabilities as incombustible materials were evaluated. The specimen treated by FRC-D showed better incombustible properties than others, even though with lower quantity. Therefore it is supposed that the FRC-D could be able to be applied on the cultural heritage, such as Korean wooden house for preventing fire.

This paper reports four species of Erebidae from the southern part of Korea: two Boletobiinae, Honeyania ragusana (Freyer, 1845), Enispa masuii Sugi, 1982, one Hermininae, Adrapsa ablualis Walker, 1859, and one Arctiinae, Stictane rectilinea (Snellen, 1879). Honeyania ragusana can be distinguished by the following: a blackish dot on the apex of the forewing with strongly curved medial lines, a long slender uncus and a strongly distally bifurcated valva with a large distally expanded costa and a thumb-shaped process of sacculus on the male genitalia as well as a sclerotized antrum, strongly tapered ductus bursae, and large corpus bursae on the female genitalia. Enispa masuii, a lichen feeder, can be distinguished by the whitish medial lines of the grayish fore- and hindwings, and a pair of rounded ball-shaped lamella antevaginalis, long, sclerotized ductus bursae, and pear-shaped corpus bursae without signum of the female genitalia. Adrapsa ablualis can be distinguished by the whitish medial lines of the fore- and hindwings and large medial process of the costa and dentate distal margin of the valva of the male genitalia. Stictane rectilinea can be distinguished by the broad dark grayish medial band of the forewing and the long knife-shaped valva with a strongly hooked process on the distal part of the sacculus of the male genitalia.

Multi-valued decision making for transitional stochastic events was newly derived based on conditional probability of database. The two values (on-off) decision making method without transition had been proposed by one of the author in a previous work for a purpose of realizing human on-off decision making. The current method is an extension of the previous on-off decision making. By combining the conditional probability and the transitional probability, the closed form of the algorithm for the multi-valued transitional decision making was derived. The proposed multi-valued decision making was successfully applied to the determination of the five levels of the vigilance of a subject during the EEG recording; awake stage, drowsy stage and sleeping stages (stage 1, stage 2/3, REM (rapid eye movement)). The method for determining the vigilance level can be directly usable for the two purposes; selection of awake EEG segments for automatic EEG interpretation, and determination of sleep stages through sleep EEG. The proposed multi-valued decision making with a mathematical background of the probability can be applicable widely, in industries and in medical fields for purposes of the multi-valued decision making.

This research surveyed middle aged men, who were from the 'baby boomer generation' and worked for large corporations in Seoul, Busan, Ulsan, Cheonan, Yeoju, Sugi, Suwon and Daejon. A total of 166 subjects were included in the final analysis. The major findings were as follows: first, most participants worked in administrative management and were professionals with high educational levels and incomes. Second, the middle aged men were found to enjoy high psychological well-being when they had high ego-resilience, when they had high satisfaction with fatherhood, when they expressed themselves more(emotional expression), when they had higher job satisfaction, and when they had experienced less of a burden in supporting their parents. Marital satisfaction did not affect their psychological well-being.

In this study, it was examined the method to estimate equilibrium moisture content(EMC) at high vapor pressures and high temperatures above $100^{\circ}C$. The material used for the experiment was Sugi(Cryptomeria japonica). EMC was investigated at temperatures ranging from $100^{\circ}C$ to $160^{\circ}C$ and under saturated vapor pressures above 1 atm. The correlation between temperatures and vapor pressures have a good agreement with those observed by thermocouple and pressure gauge in the air state of autoclave, respectively. A sensitivity of quartz spring was 65mm/g. Moisture content(MC)s calculated from the quartz spring elongation by vapor sorption showed a good agreement with MCs by oven-dried method. Using this system, it was found that EMC at high vapor pressures and high temperatures above $100^{\circ}C$ were higher than EMC of wood in 1 atm pressure conditions. With this system, therefore, it was concluded that the EMCs of wood and wood-based materials at high temperatures were able to be evaluated.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to report that Korean Medicine treatment is effective in treating pain in burn patients. Results : We effectively reduced the pain that occurred after the end of the burn treatment through Korean Medicine such as multiple acupuncture, cupping, Sugi therapy, and external salve. VAS(Visual Analog Scale) values were reduced from 8 to 2 after about 23 days of treatment. Conclusions : This report shows that there was no special effect on dermatology treatment for pain that occurred after the end of treatment of burn patient, but it can also be excellent through Korean Medicine alone. It's only one case, so it cannot be determined that Korean Medicine for a burn is excellent. but if more excellent burn treatment of Korean Medicine is reported continuously, it will prove its validity. Therefore, it is hoped that more case reports and studies on burn treatments will be done in the future.
