Laser Transmission Joining (LTJ), which is a joining process of polymers by using different transmission rates of materials, was studied numerically. Unlike previous studies, energy loss by reflection at the surface was included. Besides, energy absorbed in the transparent substrate is also considered to increase the accuracy of the analytical results. Furthermore, thermal deformations of the substrates were also calculated. Temperature distribution of the substrates on the joining process could be effectively predicted by using the thermal analysis model developed, which could also analyze the rising phenomenon of the absorbing substrate by bulge effect. Calculated results show that temperature of the absorbing substrate is higher than that of transparent substrate when the laser is being radiated, and this temperature difference causes more thermal deformation in absorbing substrate, which results in the surface rise of the absorbing substrate. Comparison of calculated results with corresponding experimental results could confirm the validity of the numerical analysis model proposed.

We have investigated the generation of pretilt angle for a nematic liquid crystal (NLC) alignment with rubbing alignment method on polyimide surfaces using thin plastic substrates. It was found that monodomain alignment of NLC is obtained with rubbing alignment method on polyimide surfaces using thin plastic substrates. The NLC pretilt angles generated are about 3$^{\circ}$ by the rubbing alignment method on thin plastic substrates, However, the pretilt angle are at about 1.7$^{\circ}$ lower on the glass substrate than on thin plastic substrate. We obtain that AFM (atomic force microscope) image of rubbed PI surface with polymer film has formed the micro-groove structure at the low curring temperature (120$^{\circ}C$). However, no grooves are obtained on the glass substrate at the same temperature. It is considered that this alignment may be attributed to roughness of micro-groove substrate. The tilt angle increases with increasing baking temperature for making polyimide layer using glass substrate. It was concluded that the pretilt angle in the polyimide surface is attributable to the increasing of imidization rato.
$LaGaO_3$ thin film was prepared on Ni-Fe metal porous substrate by Pulsed Laser Deposition method. By the thermal reduction, the dense $NiO-{Fe_3}{O_4}$ substrate is changed to a porous Ni-Fe metal substrate. The volumetric shrinkage and porosity of the substrate are controlled by the reduction temperature. It was found that a thermal expansion property of the Ni-Fe porous metal substrate is almost the same with that of $LaGaO_3$ based oxide. $LaGaO_3$ based electrolyte films are prepared by the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. The film composition is sensitively affected by the deposition temperature. The obtained film is amorphous state after deposition. After post annealing at 1073K in air, the single phase of $LaGaO_3$ perovskite was obtained. Since the thermal expansion coefficient of the film is almost the same with that of LSGM film, the obtained metal support LSGM film cell shows the high tolerance against a thermal shock and after 6 min startup from room temperature, the cell shows the almost theoretical open circuit potential.

The effects of process parameters substrate such as substrate current and substrate temperature on the corrosion resistance of ion plated TiN film were investigated. TiN fims were deposited on speed steel on which Ti or Ni hed been previously evaporated. Dense TiN films could be obtained under higher substrate current(1A) and substrate temperature($500^{\circ}C$), whereas TiN films deposited with lower substances current(0.5A) and substrate temperature($300^{\circ}C$) showed porous structure. The corrosion resistances of high speed steel was considerably increased when dense TiN films had been formed on it. The effect of Ti and Ni interlayer on the increase of the corrosion resistance was also significant with dense TiN films, while there was little effect of interlayer on the corrosion resistance when TiN films were porous. the effect of interlayer on the corrosion resistance was more outstanding with Ti then with Ni, because Ti reacts more easily with oxygen to form an oxide layer, and it also shows higher resistance against chlorine containing corrosion media.
$Y_{2}O_{3}:Eu^{3+}$ thin films have been grown on $Al_{2}O_{3}$(0001) substrates by a pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. The phosphor thin films were deposited at a substrate temperature of 500, 600, and $700^{\circ}C$ under the oxygen pressure of 100, 200, and 300 mTorr. The crystallinity, surface roughness and photoluminescence of the films are highly dependent on the substrate temperature and oxygen pressure. The films grown on $Al_{2}O_{3}$(0001) substrate even under the different substrate temperatures and oxygen pressures exhibited (222) preferred orientation. The luminescent spectra exhibited strong luminescence of ${^{5}D_{0}}-{^{7}F_{2}}$ transition within $Eu^{+3}$ peaking at 612 nm. The crystallinity and luminescence intensity of the films have been improved as the substrate temperature increasing. With increase of oxygen pressure from 50 to 300 mTorr, the crystallinity of the films has been uniformly decreased. The photoluminescence intensity and surface roughness have similar behaviors as a function of oxygen pressure. At 200 mTorr, both photoluminescence intensity and surface roughness show a maximum.

In this study we investigated the variation of the substrate temperatures using RF sputtering to identify the effect on the structure and electrical properties by c-axis orientation of ZnO thin film. ZnO thin films were prepared on Al/Si substrate. In our experimental results, ZnO thin film at $300^{\circ}C$ was well grown with (002) peak of ZnO thin film, the thin film showed the high resistivity with the value of $5.9{\times}10^7\;{\Omega}cm$ and the roughness with 27.06 nm. As increased the substrate temperatures, the grain size of ZnO thin films was increased. From these results, we could confirm the suitable substrate temperature of ZnO thin films for FBAR(film bulk acoustic resonator).
In the present study, the wettability and interfacial tension between (bare Cu, electroless Ni/cu, immersion Au/Ni/Cu) substrates and indium solder were investigated as a function of soldering temperature, types of flux. The wettability of In solder increased with soldering temperature and solid content of flux. The wettability of In solder was affected by the substrate metal finish used, i.e., nickel, gold and copper. On the bare Cu substrate, In solder wet better than any of the substrate metal finishes tested. Intermetallic compound formation between liquid solder and substrate reduced the interfacial energy and improved wettability. For the identification of intermetallic compounds, X-Ray Diffraction(LRD) were employed. Experimental results showed that the intermetallic compounds, such as Cu11In9 and In27Ni10 are observed f3r different substrates respectively. The wetting kinetics is investigated by measuring wetting time with the wetting balance technique. The activation energy of wetting calculated for the In solder/cu substrate and In solder/electroless Au/Ni/Cu substrate are 36.13 and 27.36 kJ/mol, respectively.

In this work, we reported fabrication of sealing the glass substrate using laser treatment at low temperature for electrochemical luminescence (ECL) cell. The laser treatment at temperature is using laser diode. The glass substrate sealing by laser treatment tested at 3-10W, 2-5 mm/s for build and tested. The sealing laser treatment method will allow associate coordination between the two glass substrate was enclosed. The effect of laser treatment to sealing the glass substrate was found to have cracks and air gap at best thickness of about 550-600 im for condition 3 W, 3 mm/s. The surface of sealing was roughness which was not influent to electrodes It can reduce the cracks, crevices and air gaps as well, improves the performance viscosity in butter bus bar electrodes. Therefore, it is more effective viscosity between two FTO glasses substrate.

In this study, CdS thin films were deposited onto glass substrates by radio frequency magnetron sputtering. The films were grown at various substrate temperatures in the range of 100 to $250^{\circ}C$. The effects of substrate temperatures on the structural and optical properties were examined. The XRD analysis revealed that CdS films were polycrystalline and retained the mixed structure of hexagonal wurtzite and cubic phase. The percentages of hexagonal structured crystallites in the films were seen to be increased by increasing substrate temperatures. The film grown at $250^{\circ}C$ showed a relatively high transmittance of 80% in the visible region, with an energy band gap of 2.45 eV. The transmittance date analysis indicated that the optical band gap was closely related to the substrate temperatures.
Three different kinds of substrate used in this study : bare Cu, electroless Ni/Cu substrate with a Nilayer thickness of $5\mu\textrm{m}$, immersion Au/electroless Ni/Cu substrate with the Au and Ni layer of $0.15\mu\textrm{m}$ and $5\mu\textrm{m}$ thickness, respectively. The wettability and interfacial tension between various substrate and Sn-3.5Ag solder were examined as a function of soldering temperature, types of flux. The wettability of Sn-3.5Ag solder increased with soldering temperature and solid content of flux. The wettability of Sn-3.5Ag solder was affected by the substrate metal finish used, i.e., nickel, gold and copper. Intermetallic compound formation between liquid solder and substrate reduced the interfacial energy and decreased wettability.
