The data was collected through a structured questionnaire from 26, June to 27, June 2006. Collected data were analyzed into frequency and Chi-square test using SPSS 10.0 program. Result: First, no statistically significant relations were found between mothers, knowledge with general characteristics of subject(age, degree of education, yes or no of occupation, subjective economy). Second, mothers, number of toothbrushing were statistically significant relations with degree of education, yes or no of occupation as over three times a day. Third, no statistically significant relations were between visiting frequency of dental clinic for one years with general characteristics of subject(age, degree of education, yes or no of occupation, subjective economy). Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate differences of subjective, objective knowledge and educational need about contraceptives according to sex in college students. Methods: Data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire from 84 male and 111 female college students on May, 2008. PASW 18.0 program was used for data analysis. Results: There were significant differences in age, major, grade, place of residence, and experience of sexual intercourse between male and female college students. There was a significant difference in objective knowledge about contraceptives between the two groups, but no significant difference in subjective knowledge. The positive correlation was shown between subjective and objective knowledge about contraceptives. Even when demographic variables such as age, major, grade, place of residence, and experience of sexual intercourse were controlled, sex was a significant influencing factor on subjective and objective knowledge about contraceptives. Educational need about emergency contraceptive pills was significantly different and ranking of educational need about contraceptives was also different between the two groups. Conclusion: These results suggest that different education programs according to sex are needed to maximize the effect of contraceptive education and sexual characteristics are considered to give an education to college students.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors affecting health promotion behaviors of upper grade elementary students. Methods: A descriptive study was carried out with 282 fifth or sixth elementary school students from two cities, Korea. Data were collected using self-administrative questionnaires containing items on health knowledge, attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavior control and health promotion behavior, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Pearson Correlation Coefficients, and multiple regression analysis with the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. Results: There were significant positive correlations between health promotion behavior and health knowledge (r=.36, p<.001), attitudes (r=.41, p<.001), subjective norms (r=.36, p<.001), perceived behavior control (r=.49, p<.001). Perceived behavior control (${\beta}=.38$, p<.001), health knowledge (${\beta}=.26$, p<.001), perceived health status - good (${\beta}=.15$, p=.005) were significant factors affecting health promotion behavior and explained 31%(F=43.29, p<.001) of variance. Conclusion: Results indicate that level of health promotion behavior is appropriate and perceived behavior control is the most important factor for health promotion behavior among the predictors. These findings also suggest that it is necessary to promote perceived behavior control and health knowledge in developing health promotion intervention programs for these students, as well as a need to strengthen education on sex behavior and health, accident prevention and first aid.
Purpose: This study was conducted to predict the effects of behavioral intention on pap screening tests in unmarried college women using a path model. Methods: The study subjects were 216 university students and data were collected through self-report questionnaires including knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, behavioral intentions to take the Pap test, and health responsibility. Results: Knowledge regarding the Pap test was moderate. The factors of knowledge, attitude, and perceived behavioral control negatively influenced the behavioral intention of the Pap test. However, the factors of subjective norms and health responsibility positively influenced behavioral intention. Conclusion: Subjective norms are the most importance factor to increase the intentions of the Pap test among unmarried college women. It is also necessary to eliminate barriers to undergoing pap testing, as well as to provide nursing intervention to obtain correct knowledge and a positive attitude regarding the Pap screening test.

The data were collected from December 2021 to March 2022 using structured self-reported questionnaires. SPSS/WIN 25.0 program was used to analyze the data. Results: Factors influencing health promoting behavior about osteoporosis in women in their 20s and 30s were in the order of "good" subjective health status (β=.47, p<.001), "moderate" subjective health status (β=.36, p<.001) and knowledge (β=.18, p=.015). These factors explained 12.4% of health promoting behaviors about osteoporosis. Conclusion: The results indicate the need to develop and implement healthcare programs that can improve the health status and provide knowledge to improve health promoting behavior about osteoporosis in women in their 20s and 30s.
The purpose of this study was to describe decision making model of 180 public health nurses in Korea and their knowledge structure for decision making. The differences of decision making models by nurse's knowledge structure were also tested. Research concepts were measured using the instrument based on systemic and interpretive decision making approaches that were developed by Lauri & Salantera (1995). The results were as follows. 1. The public health nurses turned to, most commonly, a mixed practical-theoretical knowledge structure (45.9%), followed by practical knowledge (32%) and theoretical knowledge (22.1%). 2. The six different decision making models were identified. These were named for decision making theories and nursing process. These were client-oriented decision making, rule-oriented systemic decision making, wholistic and intuitive decision making, decision making depending on subjective view and experience, systemic decision making for defining problems. 3. The public nurses who had practical and practical-theoretical knowledge structure and community health practitioner (CHP) retold that decision making depends on subjective view and experience. Also the public health nurses who had 5~19 years clinical experience represented hypothetico-deductive decision making for defining problems.
