수분함량에 따른 자동차용 휠베어링 그리스 품질특성 연구 (Performance of Automotive Wheel Bearing Grease by Water Contents)

  • Automotive wheel bearing grease helps to reduce stresses and prevent wear of wheel bearings. But it is easily contaminated by water and other contaminants. In this study, we investigated the property change of automotive wheel bearing grease under water contamination. The result showed that some properties such as dropping point, work penetration and oxidation stability were not influenced by water content. However, most of properties such as work stability, water washout characteristics, leakage tendency, oil separation, evaporation loss and rust protection became worse after water was added. This is thought that added water makes the interaction weak between thickener and base oil of grease.

  • In this paper, we develop a functional test model for magnetic bearing wheels. The functional test model is an electromagnetic levitation system that has three degree of freedom, which consists of one axial suspension from gravity and two axes gimbaling capability to small angels. A nonlinear controller with high-gain observers is proposed and the real-time experiment results show that the rotor is accurately levitated at the desired position and well-balanced, which is a suitable result for the potential use an magnetic bearing wheels. Also, the proposed scheme exhibits better performance when it is compared with the conventional PID control method.

  • For a vertical type crankshaft-journal bearing system used in scroll compressor, nonlinear transient response analysis is applied includung nonlinear fluid film reaction forces of journal beatings. By a connected behavior analysis of crankshaft and orbiting scroll, the radial clearance of scroll wraps is calculated. Considering tangential leakage for this clearance, a coupled analysis model for leakage and dynamic behavior of the orbiting scroll is made, and analyzed by iterative calculation. By regarding clearances of main, sub bearing of crankshaft and orbiting scroll shaft bearing clearance as design parameters, the radial clearance of scroll wraps is analyzed.

  • This paper presents the theoretical model to investigate the effect of Coulomb damping in the sub-structure of a foil bearing. Foil deflection is restricted by friction of bumps. Equivalent viscous damping of the bump foils is derived from the Coulomb friction. Dynamic equation of the bumps is constituted by stiffness and damping terms. This point give the difference from Heshmat's frictionless and simple compliance bump model. The fluid is modeled with the compressible Reynolds equation. A perturbation approach is used to determine the static and dynamic performance of the bearing from the coupled fluid-structural model. The analysis result shows that the static and dynamic performance is enhanced by bump friction. This analysis technique would be extended to development of a high performance bearing.

  • In this paper is presenting the shape design and elastomer bearings, which functioned as a joint connecting sub-structures and upper-structures with a railway bridge bearing systems. The elastomeric spherical bearing shaped and composed of alternated 17-layered metal shim plates and 18-layered elastomer plates, respectively. The elastomeric spherical bearing a high compressive load for perpendicular axis to layered plates and flexible motions are provided coincidently for other axes. The three types of elastomers, which were developed due to a designed shear modules were applied. Nonlinear analysis based on the material properties of designed bearing were accomplished. Therefore, the Nonlinear Analysis results were compared with the calculation results and the optimized shapes were designed.

수직증축 공동주택 하부 신설 보강말뚝의 축강성 산정 (Estimation of the Axial Stiffness of Reinforcing Piles in Vertical Extension Structures)

  • 본 연구에서는 수직증축 공동주택 하부 신설 보강말뚝의 축강성(Kvr)을 기존말뚝의 열화를 고려한 이론적인 접근과 수치해석을 통하여 산정하였다. 3차원 유한요소 수치해석을 수행하는 과정에서, 이론적인 접근과 38본의 시험 말뚝계측 결과를 통하여 제안된 열화를 고려한 기존말뚝 축강성(Kve)의 상한 값을 적용하였다. 이를 통해, 수직증축 리모델링으로 인하여 증가된 하중을 안정적으로 지지하기 위한 신설 보강말뚝의 최소 축강성을 산정하였다. 신설 보강말뚝의 축강성 제안은 선단지지 말뚝과 마찰말뚝에 대해 수행하였고, 다양한 세장비(L/D)에 따라 제안하였다. 해석기법은 기존말뚝의 설계 당시의 양호한 상태를 고려한 말뚝지지 전면기초 거동 해석과 열화가 고려된 기존말뚝의 축강성을 적용한 말뚝지지 전면기초 거동 해석을 수행하였다. 두 해석기법에 대한 검증을 수행한 결과 말뚝지지 전면기초 거동해석이 가능한 것으로 확인되었고, 이를 통하여 기존말뚝의 열화가 발생하였을 때 선단지지 신설 보강말뚝 축강성이 44 - 67% 증가되어야 수직증축 구조물의 안정성이 확보됨을 알 수 있었다.

Bearing capacity factor Nγ for a rough conical footing

  • The bearing capacity factor $N_{\gamma}$ is computed for a rough conical footing placed over horizontal ground surface. The axisymmetric lower bound limit analysis formulation, in combination with finite elements and linear programming, proposed recently by the authors is used in this study. The variation of $N_{\gamma}$ with cone apex angle (${\beta}$), in a range of $30^{\circ}-180^{\circ}$, is obtained for different values of ${\phi}$; where ${\phi}$ is soil friction angle. For ${\phi}<30^{\circ}$, the magnitude of $N_{\gamma}$ is found to decrease continuously with an increase in ${\beta}$ from $30^{\circ}$ to $180^{\circ}$. On the other hand, for ${\phi}>30^{\circ}$, the minimum magnitude of $N_{\gamma}$ is found to occur generally between ${\beta}=120^{\circ}$ and ${\beta}=150^{\circ}$. In all the cases, it is noticed that the magnitude of $N_{\gamma}$ becomes maximum for ${\beta}=30^{\circ}$. For a given diameter of the cone, the area of the plastic zone reduces generally with an increase in ${\beta}$. The obtained values of $N_{\gamma}$ are found to compare quite well with those available in literature.

백운모 내 리튬 함유에 대한 Fe 치환의 영향 (Effects of Fe Substitution on Lithium Incorporation into Muscovite)

  • 리튬-함유 백운모는 삼팔면체 레피돌라이트(lepidolite)와 함께 화강암 페그마타이트 주변에서 발견되는 대표적인 리튬광물 중 하나이다. 백운모 결정구조를 고려하면 $Li^+$ 이온은 층간 $K^+$ 자리(Int)에 위치하거나 $Al^{3+}$ 팔면체층의 원자 빈자리(Sub)에 위치할 수 있지만, 실험만으로 백운모의 리튬 함유기작을 규명하는데 어려움이 있다. 이번 연구에서는 밀도범함수(density functional theory, DFT)를 사용하여 백운모 결정구조 내에 $Li^+$이 함유되는 위치와 이에 따른 미시적 구조 및 에너지 변화를 조사하였다. $Li^+$이 Int 또는 Sub에 위치할 경우, 운모의 결정상수, ab 면과 가지는 수산기의 각, 층간 거리 등 상당한 차이를 보여주었다. 뿐만 아니라, DFT 에너지 계산은 순수 백운모 구조에서는 $Li^+$$K^+$를 대신하여 Int에 위치하는 것이 Sub에 위치하는 것보다 더 낮은 에너지를 보여주었다. 그러나 팔면체층에 $Fe^{2+}$ 치환이 일어난 경우에는, $Li^+$이 Sub에 위치하는 것이 오히려 더 낮은 에너지를 보여주었다. 이번 DFT 연구결과는 기존의 $Li^-$함유 백운모 화학분석으로부터 발견한 $Fe^{2+}$$Li^+$의 상관관계를 설명해 줄 수 있으며, 백운모의 $Li^+$ 함유기작에서 팔면체층의 양이온 치환의 중요한 역할을 제시한다.

Shape factor sγ for shallow footings

  • The results of FLAC3D-based numerical evaluation of the bearing capacity shape factor $s_{\gamma}$ are presented for square and rectangular footings on granular soils. The results confirm a peculiar effect found earlier by Zhu and Michalowski (2005), where for large values of internal friction angle, $s_{\gamma}$ exhibits a peak at some aspect ratio of the footing, and then decreases towards unity at large aspect ratios. The Zhu and Michalowski's results were derived using the finite element program ABAQUS, and the results presented in this note corroborate their earlier findings.
