열 개념에 대한 흥미와 학생이 인식하는 과제난이도 수준이 과학상태호기심 유발에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Interest in Thermal Concepts and the Perceived Task Difficulty on Science State Curiosity)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 열 개념에 대한 흥미와 학생이 인식하는 과제난이도 수준이 과학상태호기심 유발에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 초등학교 5~6학년 410명을 대상으로 열 개념 과제의 내용에 대한 흥미와 과제를 해결하면서 학생이 인식하는 과제난이도 및 과학상태호기심을 측정하였다. 과학상태호기심 유발에 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되는 학생의 과학호기심 수준을 공변량으로 하여 2(흥미 낮음 vs 흥미 높음)×2(난이도 쉬움 vs 난이도 어려움) ANCOVA를 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 과제의 내용에 대한 흥미가 높은 학생이 과학상태호기심도 높게 유발되었다. 한편, 학생이 인식하는 과제난이도에 따라 유발되는 과학상태호기심 수준은 차이가 없었다. 그리고 과제의 내용에 대한 흥미가 낮은 학생은 과제를 쉽다고 인식할 경우 과학상태호기심이 높게 유발되었으나, 흥미가 높은 학생은 과제를 어렵다고 인식할 경우 과학상태호기심이 높게 유발되었다. 본 연구는 해당 과제의 내용에 대한 흥미가 과학상태호기심 유발에 영향을 주며, 과제난이도 수준에 따라 흥미가 과학상태호기심 유발에 미치는 영향이 달라진다는 것을 실증적으로 검증하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

생물에 대한 흥미에 따른 초등학생들의 군집 유형별 성격 5요인 차이 (The Differences of the Big Five Personality among Clusters of Children according to Interests to Living Things)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the patterns of the elementary school students' interests to animals and plants based on affinity toward animals and plants, and curiosity about animals and plants by using a cluster analysis. In addition, the differences of the big five personality traits by the identified clusters was examined. A total number of 411 elementary school students participated in the study. The students were clustered into four distinct interest groups with respect to the level of interests to animals and plants. Cluster 1 'Developed Interest to Organisms group' showed high levels in the interest to both animals and plants. Cluster 2 'Developed Interest to Animals group' showed high interest to animals and relatively low interest to plants whereas cluster 3 'Developed Interest to Plants group' showed high interest to plants and relatively low interest to animals. Lastly, cluster 4 were identified as 'Lack of Interest to Organisms group' by showing low levels of interest to both animals and plants. The four identified groups also showed different distributions of students according to gender and school year. These results support gender difference in the interest to animals and plants and suggest the decreased and specialized interest with school year. The Big Five personality traits excluding neuroticism were positively related with the interest to organisms and the identified groups showed significant differences in the traits. These findings indicate that agreeableness, conscientiousness, extraversion, and openness can be significant predictors of the interests to animals and plants.

초등학생의 반려동물 사육경험이 과학에 대한 흥미, 과학호기심, 과학자아개념에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Elementary School Students' Breeding Companion Animals on Interest, Curiosity, and Self-Concept in Science)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 현대사회에서 급증하고 있는 반려동물과 관련하여 반려동물의 사육경험이 초등학생의 과학에 대한 흥미, 과학호기심 및 과학자아개념에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 초등학교 6학년 학생 474명을 대상으로 반려동물 사육경험에 따른 과학에 대한 흥미, 과학호기심, 과학자아개념 수준을 ANOVA 및 독립표본 t검정을 통해 비교·분석하였다. 분석 결과, 반려동물 사육경험이 있는 학생의 과학에 대한 흥미, 과학호기심, 과학자아개념이 사육경험이 없는 학생보다 통계적으로 더 높게 나타났다. 학생들은 흥미와 호기심을 느끼며 반려동물 사육활동에 참여하며, 반려동물을 사육하기 위해 필요한 지식을 습득하는 과정 및 성공적인 사육경험으로 인하여 자아개념도 높아진 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구의 결과는 그동안 과학교육 분야에서 많이 연구되지 않았던 반려동물을 소재로 하여 반려동물 사육경험이 과학교육에 주는 시사점에 대해 논의하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

제주 곶자왈 숲 자연 놀이 체험 학습이 초등학생의 환경 감수성 변화에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Nature Game Experience Learning on Schoolchild's Environmental Sensitivity Change in Jeju Gotjawal Forest)

  • The aims of this study are to develop and apply a Nature Game program for the ecological experience learning in Jeju Gotjawal forest and analyze the environmental sensitivity change of the students. The results obtained in 4th graders of A elementary school of Seogwipo-city are as follows: It was found that attention, susceptibility and practice will of environment protection for forest environment of the experimental class were significantly higher than those of the comparison class. And it was found that interest and curiosity into forest environment were also elevated in the results of the qualitative evaluation, suggesting that we could get the effect of developed Nature Game program on ecological experience learning. If various ecological experience learning programs considering the regional-specific characteristics are developed to cause students' interest and curiosity, students would come to participate in the protection activity of environment aggressively a little more.

비인만의 해안사구를 활용한 경관생태적 현장학습 프로그램 개발 (Research of landscape ecological field-trip learning program development for students at BiIn Bay, Seocheon in South Chung-chong coastal environment)

  • The coast of BiIn Bay, Seocheon, is the potential site for the field-trip learning program. This article is written in the viewpoint of geographical and environmental education. In this study, it is tried to describe geomorphological landscapes of BiIn Bay Seocheon-gun relating with it's physiognomy, based on the Dasa-ri and Songrim-ri coastal sanddunes and the like. Although landforms like tidal flats and rock cliff constitute prominent landscape features in this area, other features such as beaches, coastal dunes, and coastal plains have various ramifications for human communities. Tidal flats, beaches and coastal dunes are formed by the combined actions of longshore current, tidal flows, waves and winds. To some extent, the erosion of sandy coast has been a global phenomenon. Anthropogenic impacts are involved in the transformation of landform. Most favorable field-trip course of BiIn Bay is from Songrim-ri through Dasa-ri and Shinhap-ri to Maryang-ri. This program about coastal landforms in BiIn Bay will contribute not only for educational meanings but also for satisfying the student' curiosity and interest. Also, this field-trip learning program will be suitable for over 4th grade elementary school students and middle school students.

과학 문제 대면 상황에서 상태호기심 및 상태불안 유발에 영향을 미치는 학습자 변인에 대한 연구 (A Study on Learner Variables Influencing State Curiosity and State Anxiety in Confronting Scientific Task Situation)

  • 본 연구는 초등학교 5~6학년을 대상으로 과학 문제 대면 상황에서 학습자 변인이 상태호기심 및 상태불안 유발에 미치는 영향을 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 상태호기심 및 상태불안 유발에 영향을 줄 것으로 예상되는 학습자 변인으로 과학호기심, 흥미, 인지욕구, 과학자아개념, 과학불안, 사전지식, 학생이 인식한 과제난이도를 선정하였다. 분석 결과, 과학 문제 대면 상황에서 유발되는 상태호기심에 유의한 영향을 미치는 변인은 흥미, 인지욕구, 과학호기심, 사전지식 순으로 나타났으며, 이들 변인은 모두 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 과학 문제 대면 상황에서 유발되는 상태불안에 유의한 영향을 미치는 변인은 과학 불안, 학생이 인식한 과제난이도, 인지욕구, 과학자아개념, 사전지식 순으로 나타났다. 이중 사전지식만 상태불안 유발에 부적인 영향을 미쳤고 나머지 변인들은 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구의 결과는 과학학습에서 학생의 정서적 상태에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히고, 과학 학습에서 유발되는 상태호기심 및 상태 불안 연구에 대한 이론적 토대를 마련할 것으로 기대된다.

초등학생의 과학선호도 (The Preference for Science of the Elementary Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to draw up the promoting plan of science preference by survey and analysis of the preference for science of the elementary students. The preference for science is defined theoretically with three categories ; they are emotional response, behavioral response and value establishment. Causal factors of the science preference were composed of individual factor, educational factor and social factor. According to this theoretical model, a questionnaire was developed, and administered to 696 students of 4,5,6 grade of randomly selected eight elementary schools all over the nation. Elementary students liked science, but they didn't want to select their future job in science-technology area. The science preference of boys was higher than that of girls. The science preference of 4th grade students was higher than that of 5th and 6th grade students. Individual factor affected the curiosity. learning interest, subject accomplishment on the science and course selection in life. Educational factor not only directly affected the curiosity. learning interest, value establishment and belief of the science but also indirectly affected the individual factor and social factor. Therefore, educational factor was the most important on the science preference. Social factor only affected the value establishment and belief on the science. Elementary students wanted to team science through experiment and they wanted science to be easier than that of now. On the analysis of result, the promoting plan of the science preference was suggested.

  • The science in elementary school has the purposes of having interest and curiosity in nature phenomena and things, of understanding basic concepts of science, realizing experimental know-how for students. And it also intends students to develop self-leading research ability and creative problem-solving ability through looking-in and experience about nature. However, existing science is accepted very hard and no interesting, just bothering to prepare more then a ability-developing or interest. In this report, I will analyze the study problems suggested in science textbook from 3rd to 6th grade, then find a new way for study problem suggesting and adopt it. It would help students have interest, approach problem without tense, understand problem exactly, and stand a concreat study schedule of experiment, observation, rearrangement, result interpretation that have students study by themselves. Because the suggesting way of science study problem statement is important thing to develop students' creativity and problem- solving abillity and to make self-leading attitude, I wish the exiting, veneficial, and waiting-for science class, through apply the newly developed methology suggested in this report.

초등학생의 성격특성과 과학적 태도 분석과 이들의 상관관계 연구 (An Analysis of Elementary School Students과 Personality, Scientific Attitude and Correlation Analysis of between Them)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze elementary school students' personality, scientific attitude and to find the correlation between elementary school students' personality and scientific attitude. To determine this, the distribution of sixth graders' personality and scientific attitude was examined and correlation between the lower categories of each one was analyzed. The test tools and the subject were decided through the two preliminary examination, personality test and scientific attitude test were investigated appling to a total of 354 sixth-grade students at eight elementary schools in this study. The test results were analyzed with averages, standard deviations, correlations, ANOVA using SPSS/PC/sup +/. The major results of analysis are as follows. First, the distribution of scientific attitude proved that the average of boys' curiosity was higher than that of girls' curiosity, but girls' average was higher than boys' average in criticalness property, cooperation property, preparation property, continuation property and patience property. The distribution of upper group and lower group in personality properties revealed that the ratio of upper group was higher than that of lower group in activity property, social property, but the ratio of lower group was higher than that of upper group in responsibility and reflective property. Second, the socio-populational variables affecting 6th graders' personality' and science attitude were a sex, a sibling order. The cognition variables affecting 6th graders' personality and science attitude were preference, extent of usability to practical life and interest of science. Third, analyzing the correlation between lower categories of personality and lower categories of science attitude revealed that activity property of personality rather highly correlated to willingness property, critical property at .399(p<.01), .351(p<.01) respectively. and that consideration property of personality highly correlated to curiosity, critical property at .451 (p<.01), .415(p<.01) respectively.

컴퓨터과학 쇼를 통한 초등학생의 정보교육에 대한 인식변화 (The Elementary Students' Understanding of Computer Science Through The Computer Science Show Program)

  • 최근 SW교육이 강조되고 있으나 아직 많은 학생들이 컴퓨터과학을 접할 기회는 많지 않다. 이 논문에서 연구자는 컴퓨터과학에 대한 관심과 이해를 증대시키기 위해 컴퓨터과학 쇼를 구성하였다. 컴퓨터과학 쇼는 이진체계의 이해, 문자 전달하기, 패리티비트 마술, 숫자 카드 찾기, 색깔 모으기(오렌지 게임)들로 구성하였다. 컴퓨터과학 쇼를 초등학생들에게 적용하고 결과를 살펴보았다. 컴퓨터과학 쇼에 참여한 대부분의 학생들은 "컴퓨터과학 쇼에 대한 경험"이 없었다. 컴퓨터과학 쇼 후의 설문조사에서 많은 학생이 "쇼에 대해 재미있다", "컴퓨터과학에 관심이 생겼다", "주변 친구에게 추천 하겠다"라고 응답했다. 연구를 통해 컴퓨터과학 쇼는 초등학생들에게 컴퓨터과학에 대한 흥미를 이끌어 낼 수 있고, 컴퓨터과학에 대한 호기심과 관심을 일으킬 수 있는 방법임을 알게 되었다.
