  • The iron and steel sector is caught between two worlds: "carbon reduction" and "development." The goal of this study is to show that optimizing asset structure to boost intangible assets, particularly brand assets, is a viable strategy to achieve low-carbon development. This study uses panel data from 38 A-share companies in China's iron and steel industry from 2010 to 2020, as well as World Brand Lab data, to create a comprehensive impact index of enterprise value from the standpoint of an asset structure optimization, and to test the impact of intangible assets and brand equity on enterprise value. The findings show that: the asset structure of iron and steel enterprises is closely related to enterprise value, implying that iron and steel industry development necessitates a transformation of quantity control and quality improvement; the proportion of intangible assets in the asset structure of iron and steel enterprises plays a positive and critical role in enterprise value under surplus conditions. The iron and steel industry begins to shift from tangible to intangible assets; there is heterogeneity in the iron and steel industry transformation. Given certain technological levels, the share of brand assets contributes significantly to the increase in enterprise value.

  • In this paper, a multilayer radar absorbing structure was designed using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, and the characteristics of the multilayer radar absorbing structure were analyzed. It was shown that design values can be derived quickly and accurately by applying PSO to the design of a multilayer radar absorbing structure, and it is also shown that the optimal multilayer radar absorbing structure can be designed especially for an oblique incident. In addition, it was shown that the optimal value that meets the performance requirements can be determined even in a combination of various design parameters. It is presented through a comprehensive flowchart including the equations and detailed descriptions of all variables for each step. From the results of this paper, it is possible to omit complex and many calculations for designing a multilayer radar absorbing structure, and it is possible to use various composite materials. It can be utilized in the design and development of multilayer radar absorbing structures.

  • In this paper, a new efficient optimization algorithm called Teaching-Learning-Based Optimization (TLBO) is used for the least weight design of trusses with continuous design variables. The TLBO algorithm is based on the effect of the influence of a teacher on the output of learners in a class. Several truss structures are analyzed to show the efficiency of the TLBO algorithm and the results are compared with those reported in the literature. It is concluded that the TLBO algorithm presented in this study can be effectively used in the weight minimization of truss structures.

  • This study presents the effectiveness of a composite structure at improving blast resistance. The proposed composite structure consists of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) and steel layers. While CFRP layer is used for blast energy reflection due to its high strength, steel layer is used for blast energy absorption due to its high ductility. A dynamic model is used to simulate the elastoplastic behavior of the proposed composite structure subject to blast load. Considering the magnitude variations of a blast event, the probability of failure of each layer is evaluated using reliability analysis. By assigning design probability of failure of each layer in the composite structure, the thickness of layers is optimized. A case study for the design of CFRP-steel composite structure subjected to an uncertain blast event is also presented.

  • This paper provides a simple numerical method to determine the optimal parameters of tuned mass damper (TMD) and viscoelastic dampers (VEDs) in frame structure for wind vibration control considering the soil-structure interation (SSI) effect in frequency domain. Firstly, the numerical model of frame structure equipped with TMD and VEDs considering SSI effect is established in frequency domain. Then, the genetic algorithm (GA) is applied to obtain the optimal parameters of VEDs and TMD. The optimization process is demonstrated by a 20-storey frame structure supported by pile group for different soil conditions. Two wind resistant systems are considered in the analysis, the Structure-TMD system and the Structure-TMD-VEDs system. The example proves that this method can quickly determine the optimal parameters of energy dissipation devices compared with the traditional finite element method, thus is practically valuable.

  • With the development of hardware technology and the advancement of numerical model methods, more precise weather forecasts can be carried out. In this paper, we propose a Unicon Optimization scheme combining Loop Vectorization, Dependency Vectorization, and Code Modernization to optimize and increase Maintainability the Unicon source contained in SCAM, a simplified version of CESM, and present an overall SCAM structure. This paper tested the unicorn optimization scheme in the SCAM structure, and compared to the existing source code, the loop vectorization resulted in a performance improvement of 3.086% and the dependency vectorization of 0.4572%. And in the case of Unicorn Optimization, which applied all of these, the performance improvement was 3.457% compared to the existing source code. This proves that the Unicorn Optimization technique proposed in this paper provides excellent performance.

  • Recent advances in the field of control theory have enabled us to design active vibration control systems for various structures. In many studies, the controller used to suppress vibration has been synthesized for the given mathematical model of structure. In these cases, the designer has not been able to utilize the degree of freedom to adjust the structural parameters of the control object. To overcome this problem, so called 'Structure/Control Simultaneous Optimization Method' is used. In this context of view, this paper is concerned with the active vibration control of bridge towers, platforms and ocean vehicles etc. Simultaneous design method is used to achieve optimal system performance. Here, a general framework for the simultaneous design problem of output feedback case is introduced based on LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality). The simulation results show that the proposed design method achieves desirable control performance.

  • The butterfly valve has been used to control a flow effectively in the industrial because of its lightweight, simple structure and the rapidity of its manipulation. However, it is difficult to have the existing structural optimization using field analysis from CFD to structure analysis when the structure is influenced by fluid. This paper is evaluated the specificity to get the flow characteristic and stability of the butterfly valve using FEM and CFD. Also, it accomplished the shape optimization design using the orthogonal arrangement and characteristic function. Research result, a few experiments showed the optimal results of three dimensional structures to be multi-objective.

  • In designing the structure, the stress path is the basic data. But the stress path is not standardized to analysis the structure. So the one-dimensional frame element structure model with the triangle irregular network is used to solve the problem. And the refined evolutionary structural optimization(RESO) used in structural topology optimization is applied to this study. Through this process, the search method of the stress path is advanced and the burden of the calculation. is reduced.
