  • Purpose: This study was done to explore the knowledge structure of Korean Nursing Science. Methods: The main variables were key words from the research papers that were presented in the Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing and journals of the seven branches of the Korean Academy of Nursing. English titles and abstracts of the papers (n=5,936) published from 1995 through 2009 were included. Noun phrases were extracted from the corpora using an in-house program (BiKE Text Analyzer), and their co-occurrence networks were generated via a cosine similarity measure, and then the networks were analyzed and visualized using Pajek, a Social Network Analysis program. Results: With the hub and authority measures, the most important research topics in Korean Nursing Science were identified. Newly emerging topics by three-year period units were observed as research trends. Conclusion: This study provides a systematic overview on the knowledge structure of Korean Nursing Science. The Social Network Analysis for this study will be useful for identifying the knowledge structure in Nursing Science.

  • This paper presents a novel hybrid time-frequency-domain method for nonlinear soil-structure interaction(SSI) analysis. It employs, in a practical manner, a computer code for equivalent linear SSI analysis and a general-purpose nonlinear finite element program. The proposed method first (calculates dynamic responses on a truncated finite element boundary utilizing an equivalent linear SSI program in the frequency domain. Then, a general purpose nonlinear finite element program is employed to analyze the nonlinear SSI problem in the time domain, in which boundary conditions at the truncated boundary are imposed with the responses calculated in the previous frequency domain SSI analysis, In order to validate the proposed method, seismic response analyses are carried out for a 2-D underground subway station in a multi-layered half-space, For the analyses, a equivalent linear SSI code KIESSI-2D is coupled to ANSYS program. The numerical results indicate that the proposed methodology can be a viable solution for nonlinear SSI problems.

  • Railroad track consists of relatively simple structures such as rail, sleeper, ballast. Roadbed shares vertical pressure by train load which passed through rail to ballast as base that supports the track. For evaluating stress and displacement of roadbed due to the railroad load is an important role on the track as a basic data for estimation of the durability and design of the roadbed thickness. GEOTRACK program applied multi-layered theory was developed for analyzing railroad track structure. GEOTRACK program is a sort of numerical analysis program which has advantage that can analysis component of track by simple method. In this study, this program was used to preform the numerical analysis by changing track conditions and roadbed conditions such as tie, reinforced roadbed, dynamic wheel load, Resilient modulus and so on. Further detail will be presented on the paper.

  • In the present study, a post-processing program is developed for 3D data visualization and analysis. Because the graphical user interface(GUI) of the program is based on Qt-library while all the graphic rendering is performed with OpenGL library, the program runs on not only MS Windows but also UNU and Linux systems without modifying source code. The structure of the program is designed according to the object-oriented programming(OOP) concept so that it has extensibility, reusability, and easiness compared to those by procedural programming. The program is organized as modules by classes, and these classes are made to function through inheritance and cooperation which is an important and valuable concept of object-oriented programming. The major functions realized so far which include mesh plot, contour plot, vector plot, streamline plot, and boundary plot are demonstrated and the relevant algorithms are described.

  • Program slicing is s method to extract the statements from the program which have an influence on the value of a variable at a paricular point of the program. Program slicing is applied for many applications, such as program degugging, program testing, program integration, parallel program execution, software metrics, reverse engineering, and software maintenance, etc. This paper is the study to create the exact slice in the presence of Object Reference State Graph to generate more exactly static analysis information of objects in the program of the presence of complicated data structure.

  • The present seismic analysis of Road-Bridge Design Standard is on a basis of load-vased analysis which lets structures have the strength over load. In this study, the capacity spectrum method, a kind of displacement based method, which is evaluated by displacement of structure, is presented as an alternative to the analysis method based on load. Seismic capacity is performed about the existing reinforced concrete pier which has already secured seismic design by capacity spectrum method. As a result, capacity spectrum method could realistically evaluate the non-elastic behavior of structures easilly and quickly and the displacement of structures for variable ground motion level. And it could efficiently apply to an evaluation of seismic capacity about the existing structures and a verification of design for capacity target of the structure. We propose the seisemic performance method by using the Finite Element Analysis Program.

  • The purpose of this paper is to verify the structural integrity of a region with numerous penetration-holes in offshore structures such as semi-submersible rig and FPSO. In order to effectively check the yielding and buckling strength of plate members with penetration-holes, a screening analysis program was developed with the FE analysis tool to generate fine meshed model using the theoretical and analysis methods. When a hole is appeared in the plate structure members, the flow of stress is altered such that concentrations of stress form near the hole. Stress concentrations are of concern during both preliminary and detail design and need to be addressed from the perspectives of strength. To configure the geometrical shape, very fine meshed FE analysis is needed as the most accurate method. However, this method is practically impossible to apply for the strength verifications for all perforated plates. In this paper, screening analysis method was introduced to reduce analysis tasks prior to detailed FE analysis. This method is applied to not only the peak stress calculation combined stress concentration factor with nominal stress but also nominal equivalent stress calculation considering cutout effects. The areas investigated by very fine meshed analysis were to be chosen through screening analysis without any reinforcements for penetration-holes. If screening analysis results did not satisfy the acceptance criteria, direct FE analysis method as the 2nd step approach were applied with one of the coarse meshed model considering hole or with the very fine meshed model considering the hole shape and size. In order to effectively perform the local fine meshed analysis, automatic model generating program was developed based on the MSC/PATRAN which is pre-post FE analysis program. Buckling strength was also evaluated by Common Structure Rule (CSR) adopted by IACS as the stress obtained from very fine meshed FE analysis. Due to development of the screening analysis program and automatic FE modeling program, it was able to reduce the design periods and structural analysis costs.
