  • The present research aims to suggest the design of a new direction that copes with the changing environment. For example, the design for outdoor wear can be made through various methods that allows it to be worn for anytime and anywhere. Also, the research aimed to seek a development direction of outdoor wear design with environment-friendly expanded function that handles unpredictable environmental changes. The analysis of this research is as follows. First, it can be said that the trend of the outdoor wear design according to climate and environment changes is a design that seeks an efficient and rational role in functional aspects such as complex multi-functionality and minimum decorations as well as enhancing economic efficiency. Second, the outdoor wear design provides the optimal climate for the human body even in a continuously changing artificial environment. Its easy and comfortable function also helps to keep defense from possible risk elements. Lastly, this research seeks interactions among design, the body and environment. It also tries shape change using buttons and zippers, etc. according to expansion of a structural form of clothes as multi-functionality and versatility tools, and seeks a design form that can be reconstructed. The research that geared toward environmental changes should be further progressed in order to produce apparel that have efficient adaptability of any climate situations.

지각된 서비스 품질과 관계효익이 패션점포와 고객간의 관계발달 과정에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Perceived Service Quality and Relational Benefits on Relationship Development Process between Fashion Retail Stores and Customers)

  • The purpose of this study were to extract and empirically examine the effect variables on phase performance of relationship development process by identifying relationship development process between apparel store and customer. The questionnaires was asministered to 333 women frequency use of a department store, big shopping mall, discount store in Gwang-ju city during March 4-11, 2003. The data was analyzed by factor analysis, correlation analysis, and Structural Equation Model using LISREL 8.30 program. As the results, the perceived service quality with attractive factor of relationship explration phase direct positively influenced customer satisfaction among relationship expansion phases. However, relational benefit directly influenced customer satisfaction with the primary phase of relationship maintain as well as trust, customer commiment and long-term orientation. Also, customer satisfaction direct positively influenced trust, and customer' trust direct positively influenced customer commitment. Finally, the customer commitment direct positively influenced long-term orientation.

의류상품의 온라인 대량고객화 제품추천 서비스에 대한 소비자의 감정적, 인지적 반응 (Product Recommendation Service in Online Mass Customization: Consumers' Cognitive and Affective Responses)

  • This study examined the effects of product recommendation services as an atmosphere for online mass customization shopping sites on consumers' cognitive and affective responses. We conducted a between-subject experimental study using a convenience sample of college students. A total of 196 participants provided usable responses for structural equation modeling analysis. The findings of the study support the S-O-R model for a product recommendation system as an element of the shopping environment with an influence on OMC product evaluations and arousal. The results showed that OMC product recommendation service positively affected cognitive and affective responses. The findings of the study suggest that OMC retailers might pay attention to the affective and cognitive responses of consumers through product recommendation services that can enhance product evaluations and OMC usage intentions.

Oligomeric Structure of ${\beta}$-Glucosidases

  • The${\beta}$-glucosidases occur widely in all living organisms and has in general a tendency to form oligomers of varying numbers of subunits or aggregates, although the functional implications of such diverse oligomerization schemes remain unclear. In particular, the assembly mode of the oat ${\beta}$-glucosidase is very unique in that it multimerizes by linear stacking of a hexameric building block to form long fibrillar multimers. Some structural proteins such as actin and tubulin assemble into long fibrils in a helical fashion and several enzymes such as GroEL and Pyrodictium ATPase functional complexes, 20S proteasome of the archaebacterium Thermoplasma acidophilum, and lutamine synthetase fromblue-green algae, assemble into discrete oligomers upto 4 stacked rings to maintain their enzymatic activities. In particular, oat ${\beta}$-glucosidase exists in vivo as a discrete long fibrillar multimer assembly that is a novel structure for enzyme protein. It is assembled by linear stacking of hollow trimeric units. The fibril has a long central tunnel connecting to the outer medium via regularly distributed side fenestrations. The enzyme active sites are located within the central tunnel and multimerization increases enzyme affinity to the substrates and catalytic efficiency of the enzyme. Although it is suggested that oligomerization may contribute to the enzyme stability and catalytic efficiency of ${\beta}$-glycosidases, the functional implications of such diverse oligomerization schemes remain unclear so far.

Perpendicular Interpenetration of Independent Square Grid Sheets. Synthesis and Structural Properties of $[Co(NCS)_2(Py_2L)_2]_n$($Py_2L$=trans-1,2-Bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene, 1,2-Bis(4-pyridyl)ethane)

  • Novel coordination polymers of general form $[Co(NCS)_2(Py_2L)_2]_n\; (Py_2L=trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene$ (bpee), 1; 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpea), 2) have been synthesized by slow diffusion of aqueous solution of $Co(NCS)_2$ with ethanolic solution of appropriate spacer ligand, $Py_2L$, in a mole ratio of 1 : 2. X-ray analyses on both 1 and 2 have provided similar unit and infinite structures with space group Ibam. The local geometry around the cobalt(Ⅱ) atoms is an octahedral arrangement with two NCS groups in trans position (N-Co-N, 180.0° (1); 180.0°(2)) and four pyridine units in propeller fashion. Each spacer ligand connects two cobalt(Ⅱ) ions defining the edges of a $[Co(II)]_4$ rhombus. The most fascinating feature is the occurrence of perpendicular interwoven of independent square grid sheets: this is, one molecular network is perpendicularly interpenetrated through the centers of the $[Co(II)]_4$ rhombuses of another independent network with all of the cobalt(Ⅱ) atoms in a coplanar sheet. The physicochemical properties of the present unique structures were studied.

디자인 발상 과정에 나타난 어휘와 디자인의 연관성 연구 -아방가르드 패션디자인을 중심으로- (Relationship between Vocabulary and Design in Design Ideation Process -Focusing on Avant-garde Fashion Design-)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the objective evaluation semantic scale of avant-garde design. Apparel majors were asked to express associative vocabulary, design development, and final design intentions for the avant-garde, and the final 70 copies were used for analysis. The results found the item style was shown often in the order of dress, coat, and combination of shirt and pants. In order, the silhouettes appeared as atypical, complex, square, and triangular; the decorations appeared as feathers, frills, and round sculptures; and the idea method appeared as extreme, association, and removal method. In examining the relations of associative words and idea designs, the dress had relations with associative words such as 'peculiar,' 'futuristic,' 'fancy,' 'Comme des Garcons,' and 'deconstruction.' As for the relationship between the idea design and the expression image vocabulary, it was found that 'one piece' recalled 'huge,' 'volume,' 'abundant,' 'peculiar,' and 'unknown,' while 'coat' recalled 'huge,' 'big silhouette,' and 'padding.' In conducting the word cloud technique, the overall design showed the central keywords were 'huge,' 'big silhouette,' 'unbalance,' 'feather,' 'structural,' 'unknown,' and 'frill,' in order.

The Importance of Brand and Retailer Associations in Evaluating a Product Category Extension

  • This study investigates the importance of brand and retailer associations when consumers evaluate a product category extension in the context of brand and retailer collaborations. Although brand extensions are considered to reduce costs for introducing a new product category, limited study has focused on the role of brand and retailer associations in the context of brand and retailer collaborations. Using a total of 440 participants, a hypothesized model was tested using a structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that brand and retailer associations influence the perceived fit between a brand and a retailer. In addition, the image fit and quality fit are significantly related to brand and retailer attitudes as well as brand extension evaluation. Since consumers may use their associations with brands or retailers when they perceive product differentiation, market position, and brand extensions, the role of brand or retailer associations is important to marketers, retailers, and consumers. Given the importance of brand and retailer collaborations as a brand positioning strategy in the global branding and retail setting, the findings of this study contribute to brand and retail management by providing empirical evidence on how consumers perceive new products from extended brands in the marketplace when a brand collaborates with a retailer.

이상적인 남성의 신체에 대한 연예인의 소셜 미디어 압박이 내면화와 근육 불만족에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Celebrities' Social Media Pressure on Internalization and Muscularity Dissatisfaction among Men)

  • This study investigated the impact of appearance pressure from celebrities' social media upon internalization of mesomorphic ideal and muscularity dissatisfaction and the moderating role of time spent on social media in the relationships among variables in a sample of young Korean men (N=247). Those men who regularly participate in physical activities more than three times a week were included in our sample. Structural equation modeling analysis revealed that celebrities' social media pressure directly influenced both internalization and muscularity dissatisfaction, and internalization predicted muscularity dissatisfaction. A significant mediating effect of internalization in the relationships between celebrities' social media pressure and muscularity dissatisfaction was found. However, the moderating effect of time spent on social media was not found. The present results highlight the significant and negative effects of celebrities' social media on male's body image perception. By comparing the results of this study to previous studies, we can anticipate that the effects of social media on users' body image concerns can differ between male and female in the matter of time spent on social media. Implications of the study results and suggestions for future studies are discussed.

노년여성의 연령차별 인식과 외모만족도가 외모관련 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Perceived Ageism and Appearance Satisfaction on Appearance Related Quality of Life among Korean Older Women)

  • This study investigated the effects of perceived ageism on appearance related quality of life through appearance satisfaction among older Korean women. Testing the proposed model showed associations among variables and the mediating effects of appearance satisfaction in the relationship between perceived ageism and appearance related psychological and social quality of life. Structural equation modeling analyses upheld the proposed model for 221 women aged 60 and over. The results revealed that older women's perception of ageism negatively influenced appearance satisfaction that subsequently affected perceived levels of both psychological and social quality of life in a negative direction. The direct effects of perceived ageism on both psychological and social quality of life were not found; however, the indirect effects of perceived ageism on these two variables through appearance satisfaction were found significant and negative. This indicated a fully mediating effect of appearance satisfaction in the relationships. The results of this study highlight that perceptions of ageism and its association with body image should be considered to understand the overall quality of life among older women.

딥러닝 기반 3차원 라이다의 반사율 세기 신호를 이용한 흑백 영상 생성 기법 (Deep Learning Based Gray Image Generation from 3D LiDAR Reflection Intensity)

  • In this paper, we propose a method of generating a 2D gray image from LiDAR 3D reflection intensity. The proposed method uses the Fully Convolutional Network (FCN) to generate the gray image from 2D reflection intensity which is projected from LiDAR 3D intensity. Both encoder and decoder of FCN are configured with several convolution blocks in the symmetric fashion. Each convolution block consists of a convolution layer with $3{\times}3$ filter, batch normalization layer and activation function. The performance of the proposed method architecture is empirically evaluated by varying depths of convolution blocks. The well-known KITTI data set for various scenarios is used for training and performance evaluation. The simulation results show that the proposed method produces the improvements of 8.56 dB in peak signal-to-noise ratio and 0.33 in structural similarity index measure compared with conventional interpolation methods such as inverse distance weighted and nearest neighbor. The proposed method can be possibly used as an assistance tool in the night-time driving system for autonomous vehicles.
