  • This study proposed a theoretical framework that could explain the service use of a community informatics. The proposed community informatics use model was developed based on three theoretical models: (1) Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) from social psychology: (2) Uses and gratifications approaches from media use research; and (3) Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) from information technology use research. The proposed model consists of three basic components: expectations of the outcomes from use, approvals from important others, and perceivied controllability over using the service. The initially proposed model was assessed using structural equation modeling, and then re-sepcified in order to propose a better fitting model. The initially proposed and revised community informatics use models were discussed with their theoretical and practical implications.

  • Purpose: This study is aimed to introduce the application of phantom approach with structural equation modelling method for online learning. By integrating these innovative methodologies, the research seeks to advance the understanding of how the phantom approach can effectively complement and augment structural equation modeling techniques. Research design, data and methodology: A theoretical framework of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was modified and updated. A questionnaire was developed and used to extract information from 189 instructors who used online learning as their primary medium. The Covariance Based Structural Equation Modelling (CBSEM) was applied to test the direct effects and the phantom approach is used to handle the 2 mediators in the model. Results:social influence, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use exerted discernible impacts on instructors' intentionsto engage in online learning. These findings illuminate the intricate dynamics influencing instructor behavior within the realm of online education, underscoring the significance of various factors in shaping their intentions. Conclusions: In additions, the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use had mediated the effect of social influence and instructor intention using phantom approach. Therefore, one can have concluded that this modified model was also confirmed, thereby reinforcing distribution strategies to online learning and overall education presence.

  • The common practice to predict the characteristic structural load effects (LEs) in long reference periods is to employ the extreme value theory (EVT) for building limit distributions. However, most applications ignore that LEs are driven by multiple loading events and thus do not have the identical distribution, a prerequisite for EVT. In this study, we propose the composite extreme value modeling approach using clustering to (a) cluster initial blended samples into finite identical distributed subsamples using the finite mixture model, expectation-maximization algorithm, and the Akaike information criterion; (b) combine limit distributions of subsamples into a composite prediction equation using the generalized Pareto distribution based on a joint threshold. The proposed approach was validated both through numerical examples with known solutions and engineering applications of bridge traffic LEs on a long-span bridge. The results indicate that a joint threshold largely benefits the composite extreme value modeling, many appropriate tail approaching models can be used, and the equation form is simply the sum of the weighted models. In numerical examples, the proposed approach using clustering generated accurate extrema prediction of any reference period compared with the known solutions, whereas the common practice of employing EVT without clustering on the mixture data showed large deviations. Real-world bridge traffic LEs are driven by multi-events and present multipeak distributions, and the proposed approach is more capable of capturing the tendency of tailed LEs than the conventional approach. The proposed approach is expected to have wide applications to general problems such as samples that are driven by multiple events and that do not have the identical distribution.

  • This thesis analyze structure of consciousness of success factors of company project by applying FSM(Fuzzy Structural Modeling). FSM is a theory that implied fuzzy theory to ISM(Interpretive Structural Modeling) and is known to be more valid in recognizing a complex pluralistic value system and it is also designed to choose structure model that fits reality with when it is changed by parameter p and $\lambda$. It is desirable to conduct conformity assessment to complement even though selected structure model is considered as conformed because structure model is chosen without objective evaluation for conformity. Therefore, this paper present more objective structure model through conformity evaluation using structural equation modeling on success factors to achieve company project obtained by FSM and analyze the consciousness structure according to that structure.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the cause-effect relationship between demographic variables and self-efficacy and job stress of occupational therapists through the analysis of structural equation modeling. The survey was completed 164 occupational therapists using questionnaire consisted of demographic variables, job stress and self-efficacy. The results of this study were follows: Firstly, regarding the measurement about reliability and validity of scale of job stress and self-efficacy, all subfactor of self-efficacy and three subfactor of job stress were useful for occupational therapists; Secondly, there were significant correlations between demographic variables and self-efficacy except the correlations between variables job status; Thirdly, the structural equation modeling were employed to identify the relations among demographic variables, self-efficacy and job stress of occupational therapists. Thus the appropriateness of research model was good. This study focused on exploration of the relationship between self-efficacy and job stress through structural equation modeling.

  • This study made an attempt to investigate the influential factor and relationship between the type of parking lot and user satisfaction. The types of parking lot in Apartment complex considered in the research is categorized into three types : ground, underground, and combined. A questionnaire survey has been conducted for apartment complex residents to collect research data which has been used for structural equation modeling. The study result tells that the factors of accessibility, safety for pedestrians and cars, environment which are security and cleanness, and convenience are found to be influential for user satisfaction to the type of parking lot and accessibility is seen as the most influential factor among them. The crucial characteristics for user satisfaction by each type of parking lot have also been suggested such as convenience for ground parking lot, accessibility for combined type, and safety for underground type.

  • Our nation has a problem with discrimination of income distribution and inefficient of resources distribution caused by real estate price rising from a sudden economy growth and industrialization. Specially, in recent years, there is a great disparity of apartment price between the north and south of the Han river. Because the housing price is decided by the immanent value of a house and neighborhood effects of the regional where the house is situated, the housing price is occurred difference. The purpose of study was to analyze the influence of various factors of housing price. Also, this study tried to predict real estate market and to establish previous effective real estate policy. In this study, we analyzed the differences of housing price determinants about apartment developments between the north and south of the Han river, and found the important factors that affect the housing price using Structural Equation Modeling(SEM). As a result of this study, the older the buildings are, the more the housing price and the housing price rising ratio have increased, in Gang Nam area. This reason is that these have large possibility to be reconstructed and many convenient facilities, in this area. In the case of Kang Buk area, the increase rate of housing price are so low that they couldn't take effect on the housing price and they were declined. So to speak, constructing the infrastructure which takes effect on the increase rate of housing price is very urgent.

  • In 2008, Korea has observed total 215,822traffic accidents Although the number has decreased since then, the crash rate is still higher than those of other advanced countries. In particular, high rate of pedestrian accidents occurred on urban streets is recognized as a serious problem. The previous studies, however, are not entirely considerate of accident factors by accident type. Inspired by the fact, this study analyzes factors affecting traffic accident by accident type. Using the accident data collected on urban streets in Seodaemun-gu, this paper classifies the accidents into two groups (i.e., vehicle-vs-vehicle and vehicle-vs-person crashes), and analyzes relationships between severity and exogenous variables. For the analysis, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is employed to estimate relationships among exogenous factors of traffic accident by each type on urban streets. The resulting model reveals that roadway related factors are highly correlated with the severity of vehicle-vs-vehicle crashes whereas environment factors are with vehicle-vs-person crashes.

  • Since the history of the South Korea roundabouts is short, there is a possibility that drivers' awareness for the roundabouts (rules of the road, definition, location, etc.) is low, which may affect the compliance with traffic rules. Based on this assumption, the objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between the awareness and the compliance of traffic rules for roundabouts using a structural equation modeling (SEM). To carry out this objective, an online survey was conducted for 526 drivers, who reside in Goyang, Korea, and an SEM was estimated based on the survey data. As a result, it is concluded that awareness of roundabout has a positive impact on the compliance of traffic rules. Additionally, the compliance is found to show a positive relationship with driving experience. Based on the analysis results, an affective approach through soft measures such as awareness campaigns and educations is recommended to effectively address and mitigate the negative issues induced by roundabouts.
