Most of ferrous b.c.c weld materials may experience martensitic transformation during rapid cooling after welding. And it is well known that volume expansion due to phase transformation could influence in the case of welding of high tensile strength steels on the relaxation of welding residual stress. To apply this effect practically, it is a prerequisite to establish a numerical model which is able to estimate the effect of phase transformation on residual stress relaxation quantitatively. In this study, we investigated the effect of phase transformation on the relaxation of welding residual stress through experiment. And three-dimensional thermal elastic-plastic FEM analysis is conducted to reproduce the effect of phase transformation on the relaxation of welding residual stress. Also we carried out the analysis of welding residual stress in welds of similar or dissimilar steels considering the effect of residual stress relaxation due to phase transformation.
An experimental study of the constitutive response of precipitation-strengthened Al-0.55wt% Zr alloy, which consists of an Al matrix precipitation-strengthened by coherent particles, ${\beta}^{\prime}(Al_3Zr)$ with $L1_2$ structure has been performed. The deformation response of the materials has been examined by stress relaxation test at 573K, 623K and 673K. It was found that there exist the threshold stress during stress relaxation and threshold stress results from the presense of ${\beta}^{\prime}(Al_3Zr)$ particles. The ratio of threshold stress and Orowan stress decreased gradually with increasing temperature. The resistance to climb-pass of particles was independent of particles size for a fixed volume fraction although the threshold for bowing and particles cutting are sensitive to the particles dimensions. The smaller particles cutted by dislocations. This behavior of dislocations in this alloy was explained in terms of the small value antiphase boundary energy. The dislocation networks wrere more extensive in spesimens subjected to stress relaxation and there were numerous areas that have a high denstiy of jogged dislocation. This experiment results indicate that the rate controlling stress relaxation process is the climb of edge dislocation over particles.
Purpose: This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of progressive muscle relaxation training using biofeedback on perceived stress, stress response, immune response and climacteric symptoms, Method: This was a crossover, pre-post test design, The study subjects are 36 middle-aged women who were selected at 2 public health centers, The independent variable was Biofeedback training for 4 weeks, twice a week and home training for 4 weeks, Dependent variables were perceived stress, stress response, immune response, and climacteric symptoms measured with Hildtch's scale (1996), Result: Progressive muscle relaxation training using biofeedback was not effective in reducing perceived stress, but it was shown to be effective in reducing physiological stress responses such as pulse rate and EMG, Though blood pressure and skin conductance were repeatedly down, and skin temperature slowly increased, there were no statistically significant differences. Progressive muscle relaxation training using biofeedback was not effective in reducing serum cortisol, enhancing immune responses, or decreasing climacteric symptoms. Conclusion: The findings point to a pressing need for further, well-controlled and designed research with consideration in selection of subjects and instruments, frequency of measurements, the sampling method, and intervention modalities.

Using flexible bismaleimide-triazine co-polymer as a substrate, inkjet-printed Cu films were also investigated for low-cost and process feasibility of flexible electronics. After annealing at $200^{\circ}C$ for 1 h under various reducing ambient, surface color was changed to red and electrical resistivity was decreased to the level of conductor under formic acid ambient. However, its resistivity was much higher than conventional copper films due to surface crack. In order to reduce the residual film stress after annealing, additional isothermal treatment was inserted before anneal hiring the stress relaxation applied in processes of amorphous materials. As a result, no surface crack was observed and electrical resistivity of $3.4{\mu}{\Omega}cm$ was measured after annealing at $230^{\circ}C$ with stress relaxation while electrical resistivity of $7.4{\mu}{\Omega}cm$ was observed after normal annealing without relaxation. The effect of stress relaxation was also confirmed by observing surface crack after decreasing the relaxation time to 0 min.
The theoretical equation for the relaxation spectrum of nonlinear viscoelastic polymeric material was derived from the Ree-Eyring and Maxwell non-Newtonian model. This model consists of infinite number of hyperbolic sine law Maxwell elements coupled in parallel plus a spring without a dashpot. Infinite number of nonlinear viscoelastic Maxwell elements can be used by specifying distribution of relaxation times, hole volumes, molecular weights, crystallite size and conformational size, etc. The experimentals of stress relaxation were carried out using the tensile tester with the solvent chamber. The relaxation spectra of nylon 6 filament fibers in various electrolytic solutions were obtained by applying the experimental stress relaxation curves to the theoretical equation of relaxation spectrum. The determination of relaxation spectra was performed from computer calculation.

In this paper, we present a surface relaxation model in atomistic calculations for thin nanofilms. This surface relaxation model is very simple model which have only two degrees of freedoms to determine the atomic positions of nanofilms. Whereas in conventional molecular statics simulations, the same number of degrees of freedoms at all atom positions are used as unknown variables. In order to prove the reliability of the presented model, we present the results of self-equilibrium strain calculations with the surface parameters obtained from this model.

Steel cord which is used as reinforcement in car tires is produced by wet-drawing process. Recently the quality improvement of the steel cord product is demanded by the tire market. After cold drawing process, produced residual stresses have a harmful effect on the durability of the wire and become the cause which decreases the quality of the product. Therefore, to improve the quality of the steel cord product, the research regarding the method of residual stress relaxation is necessary. To evaluate the quality of the cold drawn wire, it is very important to measure the residual stress, because the residual stress decides a variety of the quality level which is demanded in the cold drawn wire. The aim of this study is to propose residual stress relaxation method in the drawn wire using FE-analysis. The validity of the analysis results was verified by Nano indentation test.
The self diffusions and hole volumes of amorphous region of poly(acrylonitrile)-poly(vinyl chloride) fibers were investigated by experiments of stress relaxation. The experiments of stress relaxation were carried out using the tensile tester with the solvent chamber. The flow parameters of filament fibers were obtained by applying the experimental stress relaxation curves to the theoretical equation of stress relaxation. From the flow parameters, the hole volumes, self diffusions, viscosities and thermodynamic parameters of solid polymers were calculated. It was observed that the flow parameters of these samples are directly related to the hole volumes, self diffusions and flow activation energies of flow segments.
Stress relaxation experiments were performed to obtain the material properties to be used in the linear viscoelastic study. Master curve of the modulus of polystyrene were obtained by using the time-temperature superposition principle. Because Shyu and Tobolsky's tensile relaxation modulus master curve or Polystyrene material showed very large difference, in-house data were required to calculate the residual stresses in injection-molded products more accurately. Our own experimental data showed that the master curve Shyu's data should be shifted about two orders in material time coordinate.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural characteristics, mechanical properties, and stress-relaxation behavior of PET filament, which were prepared at various spinning speeds(1650, 3300, 4500, 5000, 5500, and 6000 m/min) and anneal(12$0^{\circ}C$, 20 min & 15$0^{\circ}C$, 40 min). In 4500 m/min of spinning speed the crystallinity, crystallite size, and degree of orientation of PET filament rapidly increased. By increasing spinning speed, the temperature dependence of stress-relaxation sharply decreased. Same results were obtained from heat-treated samples. As a result, activation energy for stress-relaxation increased with the crystallinity and spinning speed.
