This research focused on the family stress, coping strategy, and job satisfaction in dual-earner couples. The subjects of this study were 150 dual-earner couples,300 people, in the Kyeongnam Area, Korea. The major findings from the study are as follows; 1) The degree of family stress of the husband and wife in dual-earner couples was 2.74 and 2.98, respectively, on a scale of 0-5.0. The most stressful event arose from their role as parents caring for their children. The significant variables were religion and the type of expended family in dual-earner couples' husband, and the age of the first child, job, economic level, conjugal period, and marital satisfaction in dual-earner couples' wife. 2) The coping strategy of family stress of the husband and wife in dual-earner couples was 3.41 and 3.45, respectively, on a scale of 0-5.0. Among the strategies, the 'cognitive restructuring' scored highest. The significant variables were religion, the degree of educational level, job, marital satisfaction, and self-esteem in dual-eamer couples' husband, and economic level, the type of expended family, marital satisfaction, and selfesteem in dual-earner couples' wife. 3) The degree of job satisfaction of the husband and wife in dual-earner couples was 3.72 and 3.89, respectively, on a scale of 0-5.0. The most effective variables of job satisfaction of the husband and wife in dual-earner couples was self-esteem and cognitive restructuring strategy, respectively.
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the minor stress in daily life related to undergoing hemodialysis and the relationship between minor stresses, coping skills, and subjective quality of life among the patients with end stage renal disease. Methods : Seventy seven patients on hemodialysis were enrolled in this study. Minor stress was assessed with daily stress inventory-Korean version(K-DSI), ways of coping checklist identified the use of the following coping strategies:problem-focused, seek social support, emotion-focused coping and wishful thinking. Socio-demographic data were obtained and World Health Organization-Quality of Life Scale(brief form) was also administered to subjects. Results : Participants mean age was $55.92{\pm}13.71$ years. The mean of the event, impact and impact/event (I/E) ratio scores of K-DSI were $29.06{\pm}21.57$, $88.69{\pm}75.88$ and $2.92{\pm}1.11$, respectively. These scores were much higher than normative data of K-DSI. Among the 5 categories of this inventory, the scores of cognitive stressors were highest. 5 categories of the inventory showed positive relationship with way of coping subscales, which showed coefficient of correlation between 0.259(p<.01) and 0.495(p<.001). However, no significant correlation was found between minor stress subscales and quality of life. Hemodialysis patients in our study used more emotional-focused coping methods, which was considered as passive way of cope than problem-orientated coping methods. Conclusion : The main findings of this study indicated that patients on hemodialysis showed higher level of perceived minor stress than normal population. The patients treated with hemodialysis tend to use passive way of coping primarily. For assessing the stress in patients on hemodialysis, clinician has to consider both level of perceived minor stress and the ways of coping the patients primarily use.
The current study uses photovoice, a participatory and quantitative method of research, to understand the stress in the youth through the experiences of university students. The study was conducted in the order of education, data collection, data analysis for six session college students in J city. The results was largely categorized into three themes as follows. Firstly, as sub-themes of meaning of stress, there were 'Spider web that clogs the head', 'Seemingly endless passage', 'Anxiety that keeps hands fidgeting', Secondly, factors of stress, there were 'Life does not depend on the class rank', Financial hardships,' Frustrated with getting a job', 'Difficulty in time management', Thirdly, how to cope with stress, there were 'A friend you can freely talk to and laugh with', 'Grab some food and release some stress', 'Get away from daily life', Positive thinking relaxes body and spirit'. Based 0n the analyzed results, we can understand the causes and coping strategies of college students in depth, suggested the practical suggestions and limitation of college society about stress and the educational implication of utilizing photovoice.
Purpose: This study was undertaken to compare perceived stress and coping patterns, and their effects on depression between cancer patients and healthy adults. Methods: A descriptive design was used with 278 subjects, consisting of 139 cancer patients and 139 health adults, living in an urban area. All participants completed the following prerequisites; Stress Visual Analog Scale, Ways of Coping Checklist (W.C.C.L), Depression Index (CES-D), and Demography and Disease Data Questionnaire. Results: Perceived stress and depression were significantly higher, while wishful thinking was lower among cancer patients than healthy adults, after adjusting for education and family income which were not homogeneous between the groups. Among cancer patients, 20.2% of depression was mainly due to seeking support (10.7%), perceived stress and education, while 30.7% of depression in healthy adults was due to perceived stress, problem solving, and seeking support. Conclusion: These findings suggest that interventions to manage depression in cancer patients should include strategies to best foster positive coping patterns and reduce perceived stress.
Purpose: The study was done to identify adjustment to hospital life of school aged children. This research was designed as a descriptive study. Method: A convenience sample of 186 patients who were hospitalized children, 6~12 years old. The instrument in this study were developed by researcher and constructed to include 5 sub categories about adjustment to hospital life. They ask children to rate each item on 5 Likert scale. The data were analyzed by SPSS Win Program. Result: The mean average score of adjustment to hospital life was 91.75(SD 11.22); the social support revealed the highest value, followed by self-esteem, stress on disease, stress on hospitalization, and defense strategies. There was differences on bibliographic data; hospital date, disease type. The relationship between adjustment and sub categories was significant, especially in the stress on hospitalization and disease, social support and self-esteem. The relationship between coping strategies and stress on diseases was reversed. Conclusion: These results suggest that pediatric nurses need to be aware of the adjustment to hospital life. A development of nursing intervention program may be useful and critical for hospitalized school aged children.
The purpose of this study was to examine the reliability of Q-sorting and to develope a typology of coping to stress in school-age children through the use of Q-methodology. For the study, Q-statements are selected from the literature and interviews of 30 Children, A total number 153 statement were collected and 31 Q-samples were finally selected. AP-sample of 76 was selected the elementary school children. Each of respondents were given 31 coping strategies questionnaire and set of 31 statements with cartoon on each of cards and sorted them according to the 9-point scale. The result of the C-sorting by each subject were coded and analyzed using the QUANAL PC and SPSS PC+ program. As a result of the analysis, There were significant relationship between score each item of question naire and score of sorted statement. Therefore, school-age children was able to Q-sorting(forced normal distribution). Also, the four types of coping were named as follows : Type I (n=35) : To search for the dynamic behaviors Type II (n=12) : To search for the intellectual behaviors Type III (n=22) : To search for emotional-spiritual behaviors Type IV (n=7) : To search for the self-abuse behaviors Throught the study, the implication for teachers, parents and school nurses is that there is needed to guide and to support adaptive coping behaviors. Also, it is recommended that the application of Q-methodology for study of children's subjective concepts like stress and coping.

This study investigated the effects from stress coping strategies on the school adjustment and burnouts with the Chinese $9^{th}$ graders from an middle school in Shanghai. The survey results showed that Chinese youth spent the most of their after-school-hours with the various leisure activities such as computer gaming or watching TV, so on. In the results, the school adjustments and burnouts were negatively associated. The adopting the active coping skills(i.e., problem oriented strategy or seeking social supports) lowered the burnouts and increased the school adjustments whereas the negative coping skills showed the advert results. In conclusions, the authors of this study suggested the continuous educational efforts should be needed to promote Chinese youth's ability to cope the academic stress actively.
Objectives: Smokers who had failed to quit smoking were frequently reported that life stress mostly interrupted their abstention. Stress vulnerability model for smoking cessation has been considered, and most of contemporary smoking cessation programs help smokers develop coping strategies for stressful situations. This study aims to investigate the appropriate coping styles for stress of abstention from smoking. The result of investigating the relationship between abstention following smoking cessation program and coping styles would suggest useful information for those who want to stop smoking and health practitioners who help them. Methods: Participants were 69 smokers (62 males, 7 females) participated in a hospitalized smoking cessation program, whose mean age was 44.89 (SD=9.61). Participants took medical test and completed questionnaires and psychological tests including: Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence and Multidimensional Coping Scale. To identify participants' abstention, researchers followed them for 2 years. To identify whether abstained or not and encourage them to abstain, researchers called them on the telephone once a week for 3 months. After 3 months, they were contacted every other week till 6 months passed since they left smoking cessation program. And they were contacted once a month for other 18months. Researchers also contacted their family to identify their abstention. Data Mining Decision Tree was performed with 37 variables (13 variables for the coping styles and 24 smoking-related variables) by Answer Tree 3.0v Results: Forty four (63.8%) out of sixty nine for 2 weeks, 34 (49.3%) for 6 months, 25 (36.2%) abstained for 1 year, and 22 (31.9%) abstained for 2 years. Participants of this study abstained average of 286.77 days from smoking. Included variables of a Decision Tree model for this study were positive interpretation, emotional expression, self-criticism, restraint and emotional social support seeking. Decision Tree model showed that those (n=9) who did not interpret positively (<=7.5) and criticized themselves (>6.5) abstained 23 days only, while those (n=9) who interpreted positively (>7.5), expressed their emotion freely (>6.5), and sought social support actively (>11.5) abstained 730 days, till last day of the investigation. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that certain coping styles such as positive interpretation, emotional expression, self-criticism, restraint and emotional social support seeking were important factors for long-term abstention from smoking. These findings reiterate the role of stress for abstention from smoking and suggest a model of coping styles for successful abstention from smoking. Despite of limitation of this study, it might help smokers who want to stop smoking and health practitioners who help them.

The purpose of this study is to examine how college students' stress coping in the post-corona era affect leisure constraint negotiations. To achieve the purpose of this study, from January 25th to February 19th, 2021, 247 copies were used for this study, excluding 13 questionnaires from Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Busan. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, ANOVA and hierarchical regression analysis were performed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 18.0. As a result, there was a difference in leisure constraint negotiations according to changes in the types of leisure before and after COVID-19. According to the stress coping method of college students, it appears that it has a positive effect on the part of leisure constraint negotiations, so it is necessary to consider a detailed approach to the coping plan. In particular, it was confirmed that the active stress coping method(Active problem solving, Social support seeking) had a positive effect on the leisure constraint negotiations. Therefore, future research will require efforts to verify their relationship with various approaches to leisure constraints, leisure constraints negotiations, and stress and stress response strategies with COVID-19.
The purpose of this study is to manage job stress of foodservice employees effectively by analyzing their job stressors and relationship of job satisfaction and turnover intention. It also analyzed the effects of social support and coping strategies on job stressors. The data for the study were collected through conducting a survey to the employees who work at hotel foodservice departments and buffet restaurants in Busan area. Major suggestions and significances of this study can be outlined as follows: First, it was found that 6 job related stressors(work environment, personal relation, role, task characteristics, career development, individual character). Second, it was revealed that personal relation and career development factors have an effect on employees' job satisfaction and turnover intention. Third, it was illustrated that social support and coping strategies have a moderating effect of job stressors between job satisfaction and turnover intention.
