In this paper, we introduce a new interworking control method of street lights using Zigbee modules. When a street light detects a moving object, the street light informs other street lights that it detected a moving object. A street light turns on for a predetermined time when it detects a moving object or it has received an information of detecting a moving object from other street lights.

Smart pole is one of mega trend in smart city development. It has multi-function to get as much as data from the street to better city management. And smart street lighting of smart pole as core part of smart city development is being implemented by many cities in globally. Refer to the latest edition of Navigant Research's Smart City Tracker includes smart city projects in 221 cities, a quarter of which are deploying smart street lighting ranging from initial pilots to citywide and regional deployments that span tens and even hundreds of thousands of lights. The most important feature of smart street lighting solution is "Connectivity" through the IoT technology. In order to implement the smart city, we should have so-called intelligent watchdog and mesh networked post for keeping the various smart city technology development progress and operation properly. Smart street lighting solution could be main infrastructure as an enabler for a range of smart city applications. We can talk about the expected role of smart street lighting for the smart city development on this paper.

Fast developing digital technology is Having an enormous societal influence, creating a porous new world without boundaries. This phenomenon applies to a whole range of fields, including culture, politics and even our daily lives. Urban Street cannot be excluded from this world-transforming change. Digital technology is changing the physical structure, growing patterns, function and role of the Urban Street. As a result, Urban Street should now be freeing themselves from the old-world functionalism, which has been pursued uniformly under the names of rationality and efficiency. We have, then, to think about the culture of the Digital Urban Street,'that is, the digital life style, which is tangibly generated in the concrete city space, and which must be prepared for further digitalization. This paper argues that the street must be understood as a communications centre, because digital technology has created a new communications style. Also, this paper focuses on how the physical environment of Urban Street will evolve with regard to both function and appearance. In conclusion, studying the ubiquitous space, it also looks at how existing urban planning and space design should lead to the further development of Urban Street using digital technology, as well as to the role this technology will have in the future.

In this paper, we propose a design for an efficient hybrid LED street lighting management system using standalone solar photovoltaic. The proposed efficient hybrid LED street lighting management system was composed of hybrid power conditioning system, gateways, LED street lights and a monitoring server. The hybrid power conditioning system was designed to charge produced power by solar photovoltaic panels in day time, and supply power to the LED street lights in night time. If there is insufficient power, the system was designed to operate using firm power, because the system utilizes photovoltaic power. A system control algorithm allied to the lighting management system, and experimented by being configured to the functions that are able to perform real-time monitoring and remote control through the lighting management system even when absent. In the result of the efficiency analysis of the hybrid lighting management system proposed in this paper, we were able to increase the energy efficiency compared to existing lighting control systems by reducing power consumption and electricity costs.

Buildings' outward appearances, sidewalks, and street lights have long been regarded as important factors identifying the street landscape of a city. On the other hand, the interior spaces of a building have been known to have less correlation with street landscape. This paper, which did not use standardized urban street landscape application methods, attempts, based on an experiment involving Pimatgol, to prove that small changes in interior design influence the street landscapes of cities and even provide new vigorousness. Pimatgol is a type of village that still possesses a traditional Korean lyrical atmosphere. This paper also attempts to, with the use of a physical model and a digital simulation of small changes interior design, such as changes in materials, size of the opening, location of furniture, or a change of lights, uncover positive changes in street landscape. Computer simulation is one of the extraordinarily useful techniques to predict lighting performance, changing interior space and present visual image. As a result, this study can be a valuable guideline for the future streetscape reform project to lead the demanding effects of the interior space.

Street art operates within an already given visual order: the visuality of the modern city in which the regimentation of the image has become fully adaptive to-what Fredric Jameson termed-the logic of late capitalism. What is the relationship between street art and the hegemonic forms of the image dictated by the "city's rulers"? Does street art evoke an alternative kind of spectatorship? Can the unsolicited visual intervention in the life of the city open up an "optics" that resists the reifying patterns of the contemporary gaze? This paper follows Baudrillard's pioneering analysis of graffiti, arguing that the visuality of a certain kind of street images carries an important potential of challenging the hegemonic manner in which the contemporary image has come to dominate the field of vision.

Currently, big data and open data, together with traditional measured data, have come to constitute a new data environment, expanding new technical paths for quantitative analysis of the street environment. Streets provide precious linear public space in high-density residential areas. Pedestrian activities are the main body of street vitality. In this paper, 441 street segments were selected from 21 residential districts in high-density downtown area of Shanghai as cases, to quantitatively evaluate the influencing factors of pedestrian activities. Bivariate analysis was performed, and the results showed that street vitality was not only correlated with a highly populated environment, but also with other factors. In particular, the density of entrances and exits of residential properties, the proportion of walkable areas, and the density of retail and service facilities, were correlated with the vitality of street segments. The magnitudes of correlation between the street environmental factors and the pedestrian traffic differed across various trip purposes. Segment connectivity factors were more correlated with walking for leisure than for transportation. While public transportation factors were mainly correlated with walking for transportation, vehicular traffic factors were negatively correlated with walking for leisure.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce a design method to making characterized street for city regeneration and strategy for regional activation through making characterized street. For this purpose we analyze a case of 'Bosu-dong Book Street' in the city of Busan with compared to the cases of 'Hay on wye' in UK and 'Kanda old book street' in Japan. We have some suggestions from this analysis as follows; 1. Connection with tourism and publication industry is needed for regional economic vitality and urban regeneration. And Both of Softwares and Hardwares those are based on local identity are needed to be developed as contents of the street, 2. Merchants and Residents have to take the leading part and public authority is need to support them as street makers. 3. Sustainable participation and efforts of the community leaded by merchants and residents are needed in the whole process of making characterized street such as making, operating and management of hardware & software.

In this paper, We proposed remote dimming control system for Light Emitting Diode(LED) street light using Power Line Communication(PLC). LED will be used widly by indoor or outdoor lighting because of semi-permanent life and environment restriction. For energy saving of street light, the dimming control system is very necessary and the PLC is a very efficient technique. Thus, in this paper we proposed the remote dimming control system for LED street light using PLC. A performance of the proposed system was validated by experimental results.
