  • The streaming rays(SR) method is improved and extended to multigroup, anisotropic scattering, and three-dimensional angular space(x-y-z(infinite))problems. This method is applied to the shielding problems in which the ray effect occurs seriously. For verification, the results of MORSE-CG code are used as reference solution and the results of TWODANT code are compared. The results show that solutions of the SR method are much better than those of the TWODANT code and are in good agreement with those of the MORSE-CG code. Also, to reduce computing time, two acceleration algorithms are implemented in the SR method : the standard coarse-mesh rebalance and a new angular two-grid acceleration.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide insights into live streaming consumer purchase intention by drawing on congruence between consumer and influencer factors and live shopping contents factors during the spread of COVID-19. We surveyed 348 individuals who have watched Fresh Hema's live streaming. SPSS and AMOS were used for data analysis. We determined that only actual congruity between influencer and consumer significantly influenced the consumer social experience. On the other hand, both the informativeness and entertainment value of live shopping contents positively impacted the consumer social experience. Additionally, social experience was significantly related to consumer co-experience and purchase intention. Moreover, the significant mediation effect of social experience was found amongst congruence between consumer and influencers, live shopping contents, co-experience, and purchase intention.

  • The effect of sound on the heat transfer from an isothermal cylinder in cross flow is investigated by numerical analysis. The modeling is made for the laminar incompressible flow fluctuating in the range of the Reynolds number, 5.leq.Re.leq.35, by the sinusoidal acoustic field. The instantaneous response of the flow and heat transfer is simulated for various frequencies. It is shown that the heat transfer amplitude decreases and the phase lags behind the flow velocity with increase in the frequency. The time-mean effects of the acoustic field on the flow field and heat transfer, known as the acoustic and thermoacoustic streaming, are analyzed. The time-mean heat transfer coefficients are decreased around the forward stagnation point but increased in the wake region. Such a local difference in heat transfer coefficients is a function of the frequency and becomes greatest at some frequency. However, with balance between the local increase and decrease, the overall heat transfer coefficient is almost unaffected by sound.

  • A novel cooling method induced by acoustic streaming generated by ultrasonic vibration at 30㎑ is presented. Ultrasonic vibration is obtained by piezoelectric devices and the maximum vibration amplitude of 50 m is achieved by including a horn, mechanical vibration amplifier in the system and making the complete system resonate. To investigate the enhancement of heat transfer capability of acoustic streaming, the temperature variations of heat source and air in the vicinity of heat source are measured in real-time. It is observed that acoustic streaming is instantly induced by ultrasonic vibration, resulting in the significant temperature drop due to the bulk air flow caused by acoustic streaming. In addition, it is observed that the cooling effect on the heat source is maximized when the gap between the ultrasonic vibrator and heat source coincides with the multiples of half-wavelength of the ultrasonic wave. This fact results from the resonance of the sound wave. The theoretical analysis of the dependence on the gap is also accomplished and verified by experiment. The advantage of the proposed cooling method by acoustic streaming is noise-free due to the ultrasonic vibration and maintenance-free because of the absence of moving parts. Moreover. This cooling method can be utilized to the nano and micro-electro mechanical systems, where the fan-based conventional cooling method can not be employed.

  • Recently the multimedia streaming traffic such as digital audio and video in the Internet has increased tremendously. Unlike TCP, the UDP protocol, which has been used to transmit streaming traffic through the Internet, does not apply any congestion control mechanism to regulate the data flow through the shared network. If this trend is let go unchecked, these traffic will effect the performance of TCP, which is used to transport data traffic, and may lead to congestion collapse of the Internet. To avoid any adverse effort on the current Internet functionality, A study on a new protocol of modification or addition of some functionality to existing transport protocol for transmitting streaming traffic in the Internet is needed. TCP-frienly congestion control mechanism is classified with window-based congestion control scheme and rate-based congestion control scheme. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for improving the transmitting rate on a hybrid TCP-friendly congestion control scheme combined with widow-based and rate-based congestion control for multimedia streaming in the internet.

  • The electrokinetic effect can be found in cases of the fluid flowing across the charged membrane micropores. The externally applied body force originated from the electrostatic interaction between the nonlinear Poisson-Boltzmann field and the flow-induced electrical field is taken into the equation of motion. The electrostatic potential profile is computed a priori by applying the finite difference scheme, and an analytical solution to the Navier-Stokes equation of motion for slit-like pore is obtained via the Green's function. An explicit analytical expression for the flow-induced streaming potential is derived as functions of relevant physicochemical parameters. The influences of the electric double layer, the surface potential of the wall, and the charge condition of the pore wall upon the velocity profile as well as the streaming potential are examined. With increasing of either the electric double layer thickness or the surface potential, the average fluid velocity is entirely reduced, while the streaming potential increases.

  • This study investigated the effect of pressure variations on augmentation of heat transfer when the ultrasonic waves were applied. The augmentation ratio of heat transfer was experimentally investigated and was compared with the profiles of pressure distributions calculated applying a coupled finite element-boundary element method (coupled FE-BEM). As the ultrasonic intensities increase from 70W to 340W, the velocity of the liquid paraffin is found to increase as well as kinetic energy, This physical behavior known as quasi-Eckart streaming results from acoustic pressure variations in the liquid. Especially, the higher acoustic pressure distribution near two ultrasonic transducers develops more intensive flow (quasi-Eckart streaming), destroying the flow instability. Also, the profile of acoustic pressure variation is consistent with that of augmentation of heat transfer. This mechanism is believed to increase the ratio of hear transfer coefficient.
