A Study on the Strategic Design Analysis for New Product Development Strategy (신제품 개발 전략에서의 전략적 디자인 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Recently the market environment surrounding business firms has been remarkably changed due to the increasing variety of consumption value and taste. On account of technological gap becoming narrower among business firms, the most important thing is for the soft value, such as that of emotional and subjective factors, in order for business firms to be able to create such strategic positioning, for which business firms should first look carefully into latent needs and values of the consumers. Since such products possessing those factors are able to supply the consumers with an appropriate value in attractive forms and meanings, new product development for the valuable products initiates a very important strategic action for securing the strategic positioning. The purpose of this paper is to study the strategic position and role of design in new product development strategy. Design has become the momentous competence of an enterprise in the most recent. Design performs its strategic role as a bridge between a business firm and the consumers. Consumers perceive value added by their purchase of products with attractive designs offered by business firms and, then, satisfy their emotional and subjective value with the products. This study, however, reviewed a new angle on the role of design as an implement for discovering consumers' latent needs and values which could be main factors for obtaining the strategic positioning. In other words, this study intended to suggest a new strategic role of design as value suppliers in new product development strategy for firms formulating and implementing their business strategies. For the new angle on the role of design, this study discussed a new approach of design strategy and intended to formulate its system first. And then, it suggested a general idea for strategic design analysis and its methodology, ethnography, as a strategic value creator. Finally, the suitability and usefulness of strategic design analysis for new product development strategy was discussed.

  • In this paper a Hybrid Real Time HVDC Simulator fur both operator Training and Researching in the Cheju-Haenam HVDC System is proposed and its performance is studied by means of RTDS (Real Time Digital Simulator), EMTDC (Electro-Magnetic Transients system for DC), PSS/E (Power System Simulator for Engineering), and experienced scenarios. The objective of this paper is to represent the strategy in development for KEPCO's hybrid HVDC simulator for the Cheju-Haenam HVDC system. This simulator consists of two DC stations, DC cables, external digital/analog controllers, monitoring systems and control desk for education, and AC networks. Its suitability for operator's education is tested during startup/shutdown and normal state operations. Dynamic performances of it are also verified.

  • With the progress of IT, the strategic use of information systems (IS) has been applied to the inter-organization business areas, that is called Inter-organization Systems (IOS). Previous IT diffusion researches or IT adoption researches have been focused to newly emerged IT but confined into individual organization. However, IOS such as internet relates with between organizations. In this sense, this research has analysed the IT diffusion factors affected by IOS based on the previous studies of IT adoption. This study employed a research model using the factors of adopting IOS in organization, and conducted an empirical research with questionaries with top domestic 80 firms. And the finding is that the factors of the CIO support, business partners and an industry community have significance but other factors such as the size of firm, the degree of IS maturity, the degree of firm centrality, the complexity or suitability of IOS does not.

Differential Evolution with Multi-strategies based Soft Island Model

  • Differential evolution (DE) is an uncomplicated and serviceable developmental algorithm. Nevertheless, its execution depends on strategies and regulating structures. The combination of several strategies between subpopulations helps to stabilize the probing on DE. In this paper, we propose a unique k-mean soft island model DE(KSDE) algorithm which maintains population diversity through soft island model (SIM). A combination of various approaches, called KSDE, intended for migrating the subpopulation information through SIM is developed in this study. First, the population is divided into k subpopulations using the k-means clustering algorithm. Second, the mutation pattern is singled randomly from a strategy pool. Third, the subpopulation information is migrated using SIM. The performance of KSDE was analyzed using 13 benchmark indices and compared with those of high-technology DE variants. The results demonstrate the efficiency and suitability of the KSDE system, and confirm that KSDE is a cost-effective algorithm compared with four other DE algorithms.

A Study on the Development of a Mathematics Teaching and Learning Model for Meta-Affects Activation (수학 교과에서 메타정의를 활성화하는 교수·학습 모델 개발)

  • In this study, we tried to devise a method to activate meta-affect in the aspect of supporting mathematics teaching and learning according to the need to find specific strategies and teaching and learning methods to activate learners' meta-affect in mathematics subjects, which are highly influenced by psychological factors. To this end, the definitional and conceptual elements of meta-affect which are the basis of this study, were identified from previous studies. Reflecting these factors, a teaching and learning model that activates meta-affect was devised, and a meta-affect activation strategy applied in the model was constructed. The mathematics teaching and learning model that activates meta-affect developed in this study was refined by verifying its suitability and convenience in the field through expert advice and application of actual mathematics classes. The developed model is meaningful in that it proposed a variety of practical teaching and learning methods that activate the meta-affect of learners in a mathematical learning situation.

  • In the construction industry, materials management is one of the most important components in construction engineering life cycle. Materials management optimization is one of the research subjects in the field of construction management. In the materials management system of a construction project, the suitability of selecting procurement planning strategy will influence the result of project completion. This study conducts literature review at first and also refers the related issue in other industry's application. Associated with the characteristics of construction project in civil engineering and the concept of object oriented design applied in the materials management, this research is aimed to establish a construction materials requirement preliminary system.

Face/non-face channel fit comparison of life insurance company and non-life insurance company using social network analysis (소셜네트워크 분석을 활용한 생보사와 손보사의 대면/비대면 채널의 적합성 비교)

  • In this study, 1) we compare face channel and non-face channel of life insurance company and non-life insurance company with insurance employs' suitability opinion about channel type, channel property, channel evaluation items requiring when selling insurance products, 2) we construct two social networks for life insurance companies and non-life insurance companies and find/compare two networks' properties, and then want to suggest any direction about sale channel strategy. As the result of comparing social networks of life insurance company and non-life insurance company created by insurance selling channel fit evaluation, employs of life insurance companies have more common opinion than those of non-life insurance companies and so can have more same directional channel strategy. However, property insurance companies need to manage their own channel strategy based on their own circumstance.

  • Recently, it is entering the hyper connectivity age due to the development of sensor and communication technology. In particular, it is emerging new industries such as the IoT, bigdata, cloud by convergence with the ICT and other industries. Because these industries are high the gravity of the software, the demand for software manpower is increasing rapidly. But university curriculum don't deviate from the traditional curriculum, and lack of positive response to these changes is occurring a mismatch with the industry demand. In this paper, investigate a software curriculums of the four-year university, and will attempt to investigate the perception about the university software course of the corporate perspective. Also, we draw a on-site fitness of universities training course by analysis of importance on software training courses between universities and businesses. Finally, we propose a strategy model for software training course design appropriate for the field.

Evaluation of the Performance of Transit Assignment Algorithms for Urban Rail Networks (도시철도 교통량 배정 알고리즘의 적합성 평가)

  • This paper evaluates the performance of transit assignment algorithms for urban rail networks. The accuracy of the algorithms is essential not just for travel forecasting but also for the area of applications such as the assessment of road vulnerability and the fare adjustments between train operating companies. Nonetheless, the suitability and caveats for the series of computational steps have not yet been much discussed. This study thus considers the characteristics that are appropriate for investigating Seoul rail travelers using three representative transit assignment algorithms: the optimal strategy algorithm, route choice algorithms, and the Dial's algorithm. Both the theoretical foundation and the empirical performance are examined. The results demonstrate that the Dial's algorithm is superior in terms of the theoretical soundness and the computational efficiency.

A Study on the Characteristics of Software Reliability Model Using Exponential-Exponential Life Distribution (수명분포가 지수화-지수분포를 따르는 소프트웨어 신뢰모형 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we applied the shape parameters of the exponentialized exponential life distribution widely used in the field of software reliability, and compared the reliability properties of the software using the non-homogeneous Poisson process in finite failure. In addition, the average value function is also a non-decreasing form. In the case of the larger the shape parameter, the smaller the estimated error in predicting the predicted value in comparison with the true value, so it can be regarded as an efficient model in terms of relative accuracy. Also, in the larger the shape parameter, the larger the estimated value of the coefficient of determination, which can be regarded as an efficient model in terms of suitability. So. the larger the shape parameter model can be regarded as an efficient model in terms of goodness-of-fit. In the form of the reliability function, it gradually appears as a non-increasing pattern and the higher the shape parameter, the lower it is as the mission time elapses. Through this study, software operators can use the pattern of mean square error, mean value, and hazard function as a basic guideline for exploring software failures.
