  • Value Creation issue for customers is emerging from the college education. Most colleges are facing to cope with over-supplied education facility problems against reducing population to apply to enter universities/colleges. The best way to overcome those problems might be to implement the Customer Satisfaction Management Strategy as if they were private firms for making profit. The main purpose in this study is to provide guidelines for CS strategy with a private college. It is focused on designing research plans and searching CS index. The process of this study is as follows; - Introduced the value creation strategy for customers with private colleges. - Proposed the CS management which is very important for enhancing competitive power - Evaluate various models to measure service quality and CSI for college service. - Provided some guidelines to research design of CS according to 6 customer categories. - Proposed some methodologies to apply a service quality measurement model. - Suggested a revised model from SERVPERF to adapt with college customers satisfaction. The result from this study showed that Customer Satisfaction Management would be the most important strategy to cope with confronting difficulties for private college and the revised model from SERVPERF would be an alternative solution. Further study is essential to assure the suggested model is valuable for private colleges because empirical test has not completed yet.

  • Purpose: This study was designed to construct and test a structural equation modeling on specific domain health status and the Selection Optimization Compensation (SOC) strategy affecting successful aging in elderly people. Methods: The model construction was based on the SOC model by Baltes and Baltes. Interviews were done with 201 elderly people aged 65 or older. Interview contents included demographics, functional health status, emotional health status, social health status, SOC strategies, and successful aging. Data were analyzed using SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 7.0. Results: Model fit indices for the modified model were GFI=.93, CFI=.94, and RMSEA=.07. Three out of 7 paths were found to have a significant effect on successful aging in this final model. Functional health status had a direct and positive effect on successful aging. Emotional health status influenced successful aging through SOC strategies. Conclusion: This study suggests that interventions for improving functional health status and for strengthening SOC strategies are critical for successful aging. Continuous development of a variety of successful aging programs using SOC strategy is suggested.

  • As current manufacturing processes require high spindle speed and precise machining, increasing accuracy by reducing volumetric errors of the machine itself, particularly thermal errors, is very important. Thermal errors can be estimated by many empirical models, for example, an FEM model, a neural network model, a linear regression model, an engineering judgment model, etc. This paper discusses to make a modeling of thermal errors efficiently through backward elimination and fuzzy logic strategy. The model of a thermal error using fuzzy logic strategy overcomes limitation of accuracy in the linear regression model or the engineering judgment model. It shows that the fuzzy model has more better performance than linear regression model, though it has less number of thermal variables than the other. The fuzzy model does not need to have complex procedure such like multi-regression and to know the characteristics of the plant, and the parameters of the model can be mathematically calculated. Also, the fuzzy model can be applied to any machine, but it delivers greater accuracy and robustness.

  • The present study examined whether Kang's (1999) model of the relationships among language learning strategy use and language proficiency for the Asian students could be applied to a more heterogeneous group. In Kang's study, he collected information of language learning strategies of 957 foreign students learning English as a second language in American colleges through a questionnaire. He also measured the subjects' language proficiency with the Institutional Testing Program TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). This study analyzed the same data without the limitation of cultural identity. Structural equation modeling was used to model the relationships among strategy use and language proficiency. Then, the model of the present study was descriptively compared with Kang's (1999) model for the Asian students. The overall flow of the relationship paths appeared to vary very little across the two models, which would have indicated that the generalizability of Kang's (1999) model could be extended more than originally examined. • Although traversal strategies are important for the performance of model checking, many studies have ignored the impact of traversal strategies in model checking with a block-encoded abstract reachability graph. Studies have considered traversal strategies only for an abstract reachability graph without block-encoding. Block encoding plays a crucial role in the model checking performance. This paper therefore describes Dual-traversal strategy, a simple and novel technique to control traversal strategies in a block-encoded abstract reachability graph. This method uses two traversal strategies for a model checking, one for effective block-encoding, and the other for traversal in an encoded abstract reachability graph. Dual-traversal strategy is very simple and can be implemented without overhead compared to the existing single-traversal strategy. We implemented the Dual-traversal strategy in an open source model checking tool and compare the performances of different traversal strategies. The results show that the model checking performance varies from the traversal strategies for the encoded abstract reachability graph.

  • In this study, we investigate the relationships among organizational market orientation, learning orientation, information technology(IT) support for firm resource, IT support for strategy, and balanced scorecard(BSC) performance in export firms. The development of the research model is based on the empirical studies of strategy and resource-based view. The data from the survey was analyzed using Partial Least Squares(PLS). The results from the empirical model suggest that IT support for firm resource is effected by market orientation and learning orientation. And, IT support for strategy is enhanced by IT support for firm resource. Finally, BSC performance of export firms is effected by IT support for strategy.

  • This paper proposes a sensorless control strategy for the Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) by using the parallel reduced-order Extended Kalman Filter. The sensorless control strategy is composed with two EKFs alternately computed every sampling period with a new model. The new model is based on the extended electromotive force (EEMF) which has a simple structure, making position estimation possible without approximation. The proposed strategy can save computation time and estimate rotor speed and position. To verify the merit of the proposed strategy, simulation and experimental results validate the theoretical analysis and show the feasibility of the proposed control strategy.

  • Purpose: Given the mixture components - process variables experimental data, we propose the strategy to find the proper combined model. Methods: Process variables are factors in an experiment that are not mixture components but could affect the blending properties of the mixture ingredients. For example, the effectiveness of an etching solution which is measured as an etch rate is not only a function of the proportions of the three acids that are combined to form the mixture, but also depends on the temperature of the solution and the agitation rate. Efficient designs for the mixture components - process variables experiments depend on the mixture components - process variables model which is called a combined model. We often use the product model between the canonical polynomial model for the mixture and process variables model as a combined model. Results: First we choose the reasonable starting models among the class of admissible product models and practical combined models suggested by Lim(2011) based on the model selection criteria and then, search for candidate models which are subset models of the starting model by the sequential variables selection method or all possible regressions procedure. Conclusion: Good candidate models are screened by the evaluation of model selection criteria and checking the residual plots for the validity of the model assumption. The strategy to find the proper combined model is illustrated with examples in this paper.

  • As the cryptocurrency market continues to grow, it has developed into a new financial market. The need for investment strategy research on the cryptocurrency market is also emerging. This study aims to conduct an empirical analysis on an investment methodology of cryptocurrency that combines short-term trading strategy and deep learning. Daily price data of the Ethereum was collected through the API of Upbit, the Korean cryptocurrency exchange. The investment performance of the experimental model was analyzed by finding the optimal parameters based on past data. The experimental model is a volatility breakout strategy(VBS), a Long Short Term Memory(LSTM) model, moving average cross strategy and a combined model. VBS is a short-term trading strategy that buys when volatility rises significantly on a daily basis and sells at the closing price of the day. LSTM is suitable for time series data among deep learning models, and the predicted closing price obtained through the prediction model was applied to the simple trading rule. The moving average cross strategy determines whether to buy or sell when the moving average crosses. The combined model is a trading rule made by using derived variables of the VBS and LSTM model using AND/OR for the buy conditions. The result shows that combined model is better investment performance than the single model. This study has academic significance in that it goes beyond simple deep learning-based cryptocurrency price prediction and improves investment performance by combining deep learning and short-term trading strategies, and has practical significance in that it shows the applicability in actual investment.

  • Purpose: In order to improve road-friendliness of heavy vehicles, a fuzzy hybrid control strategy consisting of a hybrid control strategy and a fuzzy logic control module is proposed. The performance of the proposed strategy should be effectively evaluated using a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation model of a semi-active suspension system based on the fuzzy hybrid control strategy prior to real vehicle implementations. Methods: A hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation system was synthesized by utilizing a self-developed electronic control unit (ECU), a PCI-1711 multi-functional data acquisition board as well as the previously developed quarter-car simulation model. Road-friendliness of a semi-active suspension system controlled by the proposed control strategy was simulated via the HIL system using Dynamic Load Coefficient (DLC) and Dynamic Load Stress Factor (DLSF) criteria. Results: Compared to a passive suspension, a semi-active suspension system based on the fuzzy hybrid control strategy reduced the DLC and DLSF values. Conclusions: The proposed control strategy of semi-active suspension systems can be employed to improve road-friendliness of road vehicles.
