Traditionally, the main strategy of treatment of the head and neck cancer was en bloc resection including adjacent normal tissues through wide incision. However, the procedures may leave severe functional deficit such as swallowing difficulty, aspiration, and wide neck scar. Therefore, many attempts have been made up to minimize these morbidities. Of them, the minimal invasive approach such as transoral laser microsurgery (TLM) and transoral robot surgery (TORS) have been spolighted as a sensible strategy for organ preservation of the head and neck cancer patients. Results of TLM are equivalent to those obtained by conventional surgery, with considerably less morbidity, less hospital time and better postoperative function. Oncologic results of TLM are equivalent to conventional surgery. TORS are safe, feasible, and promising but oncologic safety is not yet verified. This article covers to current application of TLM and TORS, their advantages and limitations, and future direction.

This study analyzed tourists' intention at Gangcheon Mountain, Sunchang-gun for local tourism. The contents of study included impression, characteristics, specialized resources, development direction, intention of visit and its form, destination prior and post visit, travelling expenses, and development form of tourism. The results were as following. Impression and characteristics showed that gochujang and fermentation industry established a strategic ground of local development. Intention of revisit of tourists was relatively high by 97.1%. Furthermore, tourists were mainly family units and they preferred family-based recreational type for the future local tourism development form. Therefore, a development strategy will be required that involves inexpensive accommodation, unique local food items, agricultural-specialty products and local tour packages. For invigoration of local tourism, recruitment of skilled managers for farm village experience will be necessary as well.

Many organizations experience that the performance they gained from IT investment is lower than they expected values. As with any investment, executives are concerned with maximizing the performance from their investment in IT. This study focused on the relationship between IT strategy and IT investment to maximize IT performance. A field survey of chief information officer of Korea manufacturing sector was conducted. Complete data for 147 firms was analyzed to determine relationship of the three research constructs. The study shows a positive relationship between IT strategic orientation, IT investment direction, and performance of IT. The research results provide empirical evidence that supports the research hypothesis that closer fit between IT strategies and IT investment directions does lead to increase operational and competitive performance of IT

Even though many projects of new development and redevelopment for information systems are invested, they are not taken care of from the perspective of administration and evaluation. Also, decision makers fall short of not only support the process to check alternatives and select an alternative for investment and but also provide necessary information so as to maximize the effects of investments. That is to say, the suggestion of general direction toward IT investment is debatable. Against this backdrop, we propose a value measurement model to manage information systems.

This study reviews the analysis and characteristics of databases from big data and then establishes representational strategy. Thus, analysis has continued for a long time in the quantity and quality of data, and there are changes in the location of data in the social sciences, past trends and the emergence of big data. The introduction of big data is presented as a prototype of new social science and is a useful practical example that empirically shows the need, basis, and direction of analysis through trend prediction services. Big data provides a future perspective as an important foundation for social change within the framework of basic social sciences.

For a sustainable development, the resources circulation system should be established and an environment-conscious activities are required at the same time. These activities should be also implemented in logistics area. Especially, green procurement activities in inbound logistics is recognized as a very important factors in the early phase of an environment-conscious activities. In this paper, we are to suggest the direction through statistical analysis of effects, and cause of influences of environmental procurement logistics activities on logistics performance by environmental logistics strategy and by the size of enterprises, and by Environmental Management System. This study was conducted with the subjects of manufacturing enterprises with concurrent reviews of literature and statistical analysis, and the meaning of this study would be the analysis of the influencers of environment-conscious procurement logistics activities on logistics performance different from existing logistics studies.

This article presents an adaptive directional differential evolution (ADDE) algorithm and its application in solving discrete sizing truss optimization problems. The algorithm is featured by a new self-adaptation approach and a simple directional strategy. In the adaptation approach, the mutation operator is adjusted in accordance with the change of population diversity, which can well balance between global exploration and local exploitation as well as locate the promising solutions. The directional strategy is based on the order relation between two difference solutions chosen for mutation and can bias the search direction for increasing the possibility of finding improved solutions. In addition, a new scaling factor is introduced as a vector of uniform random variables to maintain the diversity without crossover operation. Numerical results show that the optimal solutions of ADDE are as good as or better than those from some modern metaheuristics in the literature, while ADDE often uses fewer structural analyses.

The bus as a feeder trip should supply equality service to the whole community. But in spite of the change of latent demand to the bus by the variety of regional structural change, the existing bus route can not supply effective feeder service. For cope with the latent demand to the bus, this study establish a concept that frame of the bus operation and management. This study tackled to evidence this fact by analyzing the bus transport problems in terms of the urban growth, and following issues were discussed: 1) the strategy for improvement of bus operation, 2) the land use control which is appropriate for the public transport network, 3) the economical range to justify the bus operation, 4) the allowance for the private transport mode. On the second part of this study, the difference on the bus operation was compared to determine the range within which the bus operation can be justified. This would provide the direction to improve the management for bus operation and fundamental information to develop the bus operation system.
