  • Recent climate change has led to fluctuations in agricultural production, and as a result national food supply has become an important strategic factor in economic policy. As such, in this study, panel data was collected to analyze the effects of seven meteorological elements on the production of five types of grain with error component panel data regression method following the test results of LM tests, Hausman test. The key factors affecting the production of rice were average temperature, average relative humidity and average ground surface temperature. The fluctuations in the other four grains types are not well explained by meterological elements. For other grains and beans, only average temperature and time (year) affect the production of other grains while average temperature, ground surface temperature, and time (year) influence the production of beans. For barley and millet, only average temperature positively affects the production of barley while ground surface temperature and time (year) negatively influence the production of millet. The implications of this study are as follow. First, it was confirmed that the meteorological elements have profound effects on the rice production. Second, when compared to existing studies, this study was not limited to rice but encompassed all five types of grains and went beyond other studies that were limited to temperature and rainfall to include various meteorological elements.

  • The purpose of this article is to examine the 'Discussion of maritime defense' which began to be discussed from the late Goryeo dynasty to the early Joseon dynasty and the process of establishing a maritime defense system. Also it can identify changes in the aspects of the naval ship operation and their strategic tactics during the reign of King Sejong. Japanese raiders began a full-scale invasion from 1350 at the late Goryeo Dynasty, So the government realized the need to raise the 'Sea power' and to organize the maritime defense system for defending enemy invasion. for example, the reinforcement of naval forces, construction of warships, develoment of weapon systems and so on. which have achieved remarkable growth while continuing, have also been used to carry out a three-time 'Conquest of Daemado' in 1389, 1396, 1419. Until then, however, it is difficult to interpret that the naval forces had a systematic and organizational combat operation system. According to fighting patterns on combat reports before the early days of King Sejong's reign, Our naval forces had no advantage over the Japanese raiders in terms of their capabilities and tactics. Then, the period of King Sejong marked a watershed in maritime defense history. Based on accumulated experience of naval battles and force Projections, The paradigm shift of the naval strategic tactics for maritime defense has occurred. First, the capability of the naval vessels has improved. for example, ship speed, durability, and weather resistance. Through these efforts, navy forces were able to pursue and attack, destroy enemy's ships by taking advantage of the 'Ship speed superiority'. This has led to tactical shifts from defensive to offensive. Second, purpose to support offensive tactics, the government put a strategic plan into practice that is the forward depolyment of naval bases from the inland to the coast, considering the 'sea environment' and 'threat'. By doing so, Joseon dynasty was able to secure 'the command of the sea'. This may be a little different from the perception of the so-called 'peace period' that King Sejong's era. We need to remember that Joseon dynasty was working hard for its defense. When studying history of maritime defense, these strategic and tactical elements must be fully considered. Only then we can have a coherent understanding of the many naval battles in the past, including the Imjin War(1592-1598).

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of solving multi-strategic mathematics problems on mathematical creativity and attitudes of the 6th grade students. For this study, the researchers conducted a survey of forty nine (26 students in experimental group and 23 students in comparative group) 6th graders of S elementary school in Seoul with 19 lessons. The experimental group solved the multi-strategic mathematics problems after learning mathematics through mathematical strategies, whereas the group of comparative students were taught general mathematics problem solving. The researchers conducted pre- and post- isomorphic mathematical creativity and mathematical attitudes of students. They examined the t-test between the pre- and post- scores of sub-elements of fluency, flexibility and creativity and attitudes of the students by the i-STATistics. The researchers obtained the following conclusions. First, solving multi-strategic mathematics problems has a positive impact on mathematical creativity of the students. After learning solving the multi-strategic mathematics problems, the scores of mathematical creativity of the 6th grade elementary students were increased. Second, learning solving the multi-strategy mathematics problems impact the interest, value, will and efficacy factors in the mathematical attitudes of the students. However, no significant effect was found in the areas of desire for recognition and motivation. The researchers suggested that, by expanding the academic year and the number of people in the study, it is necessary to verify how mathematics learning through multi-strategic mathematics problem-solving affects mathematical creativity and mathematical attitudes, and to verify the effectiveness through long-term research, including qualitative research methods such as in-depth interviews and observations of students' solving problems.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine the viability of imitation strategy. Imitation strategy is one of the strategic options that a late mover can choose, and by selecting the strategy, the company imitates key elements of the business model of first movers, and modifies them to suit its conditions. The author attempted to explain how the elements of first mover's business models were creatively adapted to suit the conditions of late movers so that they can secure market position face-to-face market leaders. Research design, data, and methodology - For the purpose of the study, Korean coffee franchise industry was selected to compare the strategies of first and late movers and to discuss imitation strategy in detail. The author conducted in-depth case study of first mover and business model innovator Starbucks and Ediya Coffee, one of their imitators. The paper examines how Ediya has imitated and modified the business model of Starbucks to secure its unique competitive position in domestic market by using value chain and generic strategy analysis. Results - Starbucks and Ediya were compared in terms of their interior design, the price level of beverages, the variety of side dishes, and shop locations. Starbucks have invested interior design heavily to shops, offered diverse beverages and side dishes with relatively high price, the shops are located in central areas, whereas Ediya has concentrated on achieving cost leadership in all value activities as maintaining the quality of key products. Ediya succeeded in achieving best-provider strategy, in which it enjoys both cost leadership and differentiation advantages, largely by the strategic alliance with the biggest coffee manufacturer, Dongsuh Foods in Korea. Conclusions - Though Ediya is the imitator of Starbucks, it has modified Starbucks business models and succeeded in providing the 'third place' experience for budget-minded customers. Ediya has also succeeded in benefiting its franchisees by lowering costs and simplifying the various tasks of coffee shop management. • With the introduction of supply chain management concept, the nature of a firm is fundamentally changed. Control is no longer based on direct control of the business processes, but rather based on integration across member organizations in the supply chain. Firms are trying to achieve a competitive edge by managing their supply chain performance to gain advantages in cost and service differentiation. The supply chain elements of a sea port involves ILSP (Inbound Logistics Service Provider) at the input side and OLSP (Outbound Logistics Service Provider) at the output side. The goal of sea port is to satisfy the needs of different parties, both upstream and downstream, in the chain with greater effectiveness and efficiency than it's competitors. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to derive conceptualization of the SCP (Supply Chain Performance) in the sea port from literature review on the previous researches and to tackle their theoretical and practical implications. The paper deals with conceptualizing SCP in sea port using the SCOR (Supply Chain Operation Reference) model. It incorporates both the effectiveness and efficiency aspects of performance measurement. And it also recognizes customer related reasons for measuring performance.

  • Currently, knowledge within the field of software development is largely implicit and is not formally disseminated and shared. This means that there is little improvement and regeneration of processes, and knowledge gained from previous projects is not necessarily applied to new ones. In order to turn this situation around it is necessary to take an organized approach to sharing job-related information. For this study, the authors constructed "Amalab-Project Planning Navigation System, or A-PPNS", a system for organizing accumulated knowledge related to the field of software development. More specifically, A-PPNS is a business process monitoring system and consists of the following four elements: (i) Optimized estimate support subsystem, (ii) Schedule monitoring system, (iii) QCD optimization diagnostic system, and (iv) Strategic technology accumulation system. The effectiveness of this system has been demonstrated and verified at Company A, a system integration company.

  • Beta-type alloys are the most versatile class of titanium alloys. They offer the highest strength to weight ratios and very attractive combinations of strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance inlarge cross sections [1]. The present study was made to obtain useful information for the design of ${\beta}$-type titanium alloys with high-strength properties by using the $DV-X{\alpha}$ method. Employing two calculated parameters, the bond order (Bo) and the d-orbital energy level (Md) of alloying elements in ${\beta}$-type titanium alloy was introduced and used for prediction of mechanical properties. Thus, high-strength titanium alloys were designed by calculating the Md and Bo values of the previous and present titanium alloys.
