This study analyzed SWOT based on existing literature data to establish strategic tasks and strategic directions for revitalization of social economic organizations (Chungnam region). First, as a result of SWOT analysis of social economic organizations, a total of 16 factors were derived from the factors for strength (S), weakness (W), opportunity (O), and threat (T), with 4 factors each. Second, for strategic factors for social economic organizations, 16 strategic tasks were derived from SO strategy, ST strategy, WO strategy, and WT strategy through SWOT Matrix Mapping for factors established through SWOT analysis. Strategic direction 1 was established as a strategic direction to improve self-sufficiency by establishing a sustainable management body as a "advancing the support policy base of social economic organizations". Strategic Direction 2 is "Creating a Growth Foundation for Social Economic Organizations", which means a strategic direction for social economic organizations to grow and develop on their own. Strategic direction 3 is "discovering and fostering social economic organizations," which means a strategic direction for sustainable growth by discovering and fostering organizations that meet local characteristics so that social economic organizations can solve various problems in the region. Strategic direction 4 was 'promotion and promotion of social economic organizations', which means strategic directions for promotion of social economic organizations and promotion of education for employees.

Recently, the role of IT service providers has been enlarged from managing a single function or system to reconstructing entire information management processes in new ways to contribute to shareholder value across the enterprise. This movement toward extensive and complex outsourcing agreements has been driven by the assumption that outsourcing information technology functions is a reliable approach to maximizing resource productivity. Hiring external IT service providers to manage part or all of its information-related services helps a firm focus on its core business and provides better services to its clients, thus obtaining sustainable competitive advantage. This practice of focusing on the strategic aspect of outsourcing is referred to as strategic sourcing where the focus is capability sourcing, not procurement. Given the importance of the strategic outsourcing, however, to our knowledge, there is little empirical research on the relationship between the strategic outsourcing orientation and outsourcing performance. Moreover, there is little research on the factor that makes the strategic outsourcing effective. This study is designed to investigate the relationship between strategic IT outsourcing orientation and IT outsourcing performance and the process through which strategic IT outsourcing orientation influences outsourcing performance, Based on the framework of strategic orientation-performance and core competence based management, this study first identifies core competency orientation as a proper strategic orientation pertinent to IT outsourcing and IT outsourcing process management capability as the mediator to affect IT outsourcing performance. The proposed research model is then tested with a sample of 200 firms. The findings of this study may contribute to the literature in two ways. First, it draws on the strategic orientation - performance framework in developing its research model so that it can provide a new perspective to the well studied phenomena. This perspective allows practitioners and researchers to look at outsourcing from an angle that emphasizes the strategic decision making to outsource its IT functions. Second, by separating the concept of strategic orientation and outsourcing process management capability, this study provides practices with insight into how the strategic orientation can work effectively to achieve an expected result. In addition, the current study provides a basis for future studies that examine the factors affecting IT outsourcing performance with more controllable factors such as IT outsourcing process management capability rather than external hard-to-control factors including trust and relationship management. This study investigates the major factors that determine IT outsourcing success. Based on strategic orientation and core competency theories, we develop the proposed research model to investigate the relationship between core competency orientation and IT outsourcing performance and the mediating role of IT outsourcing process management capability on IT outsourcing performance. The model consists of two independent variables (core-competency-orientation and IT outsourcing process management capability), and two dependent variables (outsourced task complexity and IT outsourcing performance). Comprehensive data collection was conducted through an outsourcing association. The survey data were analyzed using a structural analysis method. IT outsourcing process management capability was found to mediate the effect of core competency orientation on both outsourced task complexity and IT outsourcing performance. Further analysis and findings are discussed.
Today, many universities are confronted with the changing education paradigm such as e-learning, Distance Education, Virtual University, This IT-based teaming paradigm shift is certainly a new opportunity or a threat to our universities. To overcome this problem the universities should think e-Learning as strategic weapon, such as many firms created competitive weapons from the information systems at the 1980s. So, e-Learning system can be a SIS(Strategic Information System) which supports university's future education strategies. To build a e-Learning system, not only many H/W and S/W resources but also expert personnels are required. An organization such as local university who is week at financial status can't himself plan the system. The Local University Community e-Learning Centers that support the demand of e-learning for their community are recommended. In order to operate these centers efficiently, the strategic roles of the e-Learning center should first be defined. To define the strategic roles, We classified the strategic roles of the e-Learning center into four dimensions, (1) to improve management efficiency, (2) to enhance educational service, (3) to acquire competitive advantages, (4) to build new education infrastructure, and each dimension has 5 or 6 measurement items. As result, to enhance the educational service was considered as the most significant factor among the four dimensions of strategic roles, and the infrastructure building was the next. We also tried to find the difference for each factor by the characteristics of responsor. The data showed that there was litter difference between the groups in evaluating the significance of strategic roles of e-learning centers. Through the strategic roles definition and analysis of expected role ratings, we could have recommended the direction and operation policies of the e-Loaming centers.
Purpose This study empirically investigates the impact of information technology(IT) investments on the financial and non-financial performance of a manufacturing firm. We examined the interaction effects of IT investments and strategic applications levels of information systems(IS). This study also demonstrated the three-way interaction effects of IT investments, levels of IS strategic applications, and perceived environmental uncertainty(PEU). Design/methodology/approach For this study, empirical data were collected from 98 manufacturing firms with the structured questionnaires. The data were analyzed with multiple regression models, and partial derivatives were utilized to identify the directions of the impact. Findings From the empirical results, it was found that when both the levels of IS strategic applications and the degrees of IT investments are high, the ratios of the costs of goods sold to total sales(RCGS) and the labor costs to total sales(RLCS) are decreased, as it were, the performance of a firm is improved. However, it was observed that when the levels of strategic IS are low, the high degrees of IT investments do not contribute to the improvement of a performance. The results showed that when the levels of strategic IS are high, the high degrees of IT investments incur the high RSAE not low RSAE. When PEU is considered, the empirical results showed that under the low degrees of PEU, the IT investments under high levels of strategic IS applications (strategic IT investments) improve the performance, as it were, low RCGS, and high degrees of perceived financial and non-financial performance. However, under high PEU, it was observed that high degrees of strategic IT investments do not increase the performance. When PEU is high, the strategic IT investments reduce RSAE, and under low PEU, RSAE is increased.
Purpose - International strategic alliance has been regarded as a strategic decision made by firms' managerial problems and ensure performance growth. From the perspective of the proactive behavior for changing strategies in a global market, this study aims to identify whether performance feedback influences firms' decisions to pursue strategic alliances. This study examines the effects of performance feedback on performance when firms use strategic alliances. Design/methodology - To analyze the impact of performance feedback on forming an international strategic alliance, this study adopt the concept of performance feedback to develop a research model and our hypotheses. Thus, this study used a two-stage least squares unbalanced panel data analysis with random effects. This study is based on 24,543 observations from Korean manufacturing firms from 2007 to 2016. Findings - The results show that firms pursue the formation of strategic alliances more actively, if their past financial and R&D performance are lower than their aspiration level, based on the result of performance feedback. An in split sample analysis for examining the effect of a firm's technology sophistication based on the OECD's classification, negative innovation performance discrepancy has positive effects on the probability of international alliance in high-tech and medium-high-tech industries. Financial performance also improves when a firm decides to form a strategic alliance based on the results of performance feedback. Originality/value - This research extends recent efforts to better understand the effect of performance feedback on firms' performance when they use strategic alliances. These findings suggest that the CEOs and managers of firms should consider the performance feedback perspective when deciding to pursue a strategic alliance to improve performance. In other words, the decision-makers in a firm must analyze and consider various complex variables inside and outside the firm and expand such subjects of examination to more complex and dynamic factors.

The purpose of this study is to present that the strategic orientation affects on the green management performance. In order to carry out this research, the samples are reviewed and the ten hypotheses are verified reliably and appropriately. The results of the verification are summarized as follows: First, strategic directivity affects on the green management performance significantly. Second, two factors of the strategic directivity, customer orientation and technology orientation affect on the green performance relatively high. Finally, the two elements of the strategic orientation, competitive orientation and technology orientation affect on the financial performance significantly. In conclusion, this study shows all of the factors of the strategic orientation affect on the green management. In order to get the effective green management, education programs should be conducted by social support systems.
This research explores early mover advantages and performance in the cyber market based on an empirical test. It also examines whether early mover strategic capabilities are able to adopt mutually cumulative relationship in the cyber market. Early movers such as eBay.com and Amazon.com seem to have been able to defy exclusive relationship between strategic capabilities. Compared with their followers such as uBid.com and buy.com, they have been able to adopt strong focus, differentiation, and cost leadership strategies. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the differences in strategic choices based on the strategic capabilities and performance of online firms between early movers and followers. The study reviews early mover advantages and disadvantages, and a strategic typology based on Porter's model, as well as strategic capabilities based on the sand cone model.

This article reviews the art and practice of strategic management process in hospitals today, in order to help hospital administrators for managing strategic management system in their hospitals. The strategic management process model in this article is based on an integrated approach combining traditional environmental model with resource-based model of strategy. The components of the model are consisted of five steps: (1)formulating objectives, strategic assessment by external environmental analysis, internal capability analysis, TOWS analysis and marketing audit, (3)strategy choice considering context and criteria of choice, (4)program implementation through operational planning, resource allocation, and conversion, and (5)control by monitoring and evaluating hospital outputs. This article deals with many aspects of issues inherent in every step on this strategic management process.
