, 2007 firm by Joe Wright, deals with tragic love of Cecilia and Robbie. While the 2001 novel of the same name focuses on Briony narrative the movie is seen through romantic relationship of two lovers. However, Briony's narrative in the movie helps to accent the two's love story. The director's emphasis on the love story is unfortunately from Briony tragic story. The continuous build up of misunderstanding and irreconcilable regrets begins to materialize and explodes in the middle of the film. The director manages to use just one day and uses the same location to illustrate the background of the characters as well as build up of the plot's misunderstanding. The study will focus on the beginning of the film that enabled the beautiful love story through effect and symbolic visual expression and techniques- especially the use of mise-en-scene, camera movement, framing, and lighting and how it emphasis and use of specific color and sound.

The development of information technology introduced digital contents and Social Network Services(SNS), and allowed the virtual transaction and communication between users called "the experience knowledge" advanced from "the objective knowledge." This paper will analyze interactive storytelling system creating different types of stories on narrative genre about family history, personal history and so on. Through analysis on narrative interviews, direct observations, documentations and visual records, contents about CEO story, corporate story, family story and especially family history will be categorized into sampleDB and informationDB. Accumulated contents will allow the user to increase the value and usage of the contents through interactive storytelling system by restructuring the contents on family history. This research has developed writing tool data model using different digital contents such as texts, images and pictures to encourage open communications between first generations and third generations in Korea. Furthermore, researched about connected system on interactive storytelling creation device using various genre of family story that has been data based.

The purpose of this study is to look for an environmental design method based on open narrative structure, and to promote various experiences and interpretations of space through user's engagements. That is to say, the designer does not lead specific events through separate Boning but using the continuous open composition users are provided with margins for their imaginations. Spatial formulation through open narrative structure gives us various thoughts and it plays an important role in making a sequential space. Like an abstract painting, it is a complex story making or arranging a montage of images containing stories that elicit the reader's engagement through diverse interpretations. Like this, open composition exists in an ambiguous state and it is possible to interpret unfinished‘evolving work’within it. Utilizing open narrative structure, this study attempts to apply the idea of sequencing and open composition in the case of designing Arirang Culture Park. Open composition should induce various engagements by users and could be a medium which organically connects nature, culture and people. The spatial strategies of‘ambiguity’ and‘transparency’are like a bundle of complex and heterogeneous factors. Finally, the study focuses on the ‘integration’of the main ideas that compose multilayered space. ‘Voidness’and‘thickening’are also used for spatial strategies in open narrative structure. As alternative plans for undecided programs of the space, the voidness can be a strategic design program with flexibility about changes of futures. Also, thickening can be a strategic design program for functional reinforcement of the space, for the dramatic effects and for the generation of incidental events. Although both voidness and thickening seem paradoxical, we can see they are similar in the way that both focus on various spatial uses and by how they do not function as one-to-one correspondence, but as multiple correspondences. Therefore, open narrative structure is possible to apply in designing space and it can be an alternative design strategy for inducing multiple interpretations of space.

This paper is a basic study for making a system that can predict the success and failure of entertainment contents at the initial stage of production. It proposes the user's emotion modeling of dynamic narrative on entertainment contents. To make this possible, 1) dynamic narrative emotion model is proposed based on theoretical research of narrative structure and cognitive emotion model. 2) configuring the emotion types and emotion value, proposed model of three emotion parameter(desire, expectation, emotion type) are derived. 3)To measure user's emotion in each story event of dynamic narrative, cognitive behavior and description of user(film, game) is established. The earlier studies on the user research of conceptual, analytic approach is aimed of predicting on review of the media and user's attitude, and consequently these results is delineated purely descriptive. In contrast, this paper is proposed the method of user's emotion modeling on dynamic narrative. It would be able to contributed to the emotional evaluation of entertainment contents using specific information.

The purpose of this study is to reassert the important role of sound design in creating narrative space in films. The main focus is on re-interpreting Chion's sound space composition as a narrative structure. The sound design process has been analyzed to find that the physical properties of sound are purposely manipulated to create the layers of sound to be perceived by the audience in the same way as human perception and cognition of the actual reality work, eventually to create the cinematic reality. The hierarchy of the layers is determined by the importance of the narrative information contained in each sound, with the higher layers being appropriate to convey the information of the narrative, and the lower layers being efficient to deliver the emotion to the audience. With this idea, each of the Chion's space composition is explained as a distinctive area in telling a story with the separate narrative role from the others.

Objectives. To compare narrative skills between fourth and fifth grades of Persian-speaking students with hearing impairments and typical hearing students of the same grade and also to evaluate the effects of group, sex, hearing age, and educational grade of the students on their spoken/written narrative performance. Methods. The subjects were 174 students aged 10-13 years, 54 of whom wore cochlear implants, 60 suffered from moderate to severe hearing losses and wore hearing aids, with the remaining 60 students being typical hearing in terms of the sense of hearing. The micro- and macrostructure components of spoken and written narrative were elicited from a pictorial story (The Playful Little Elephant) and then scored by raters. Results. Compared to the typical hearing, the students with hearing impairments had significantly lower scores in all of the microstructure components of narratives. However, the findings showed no significant difference among different groups in macrostructure components of narratives. It was also revealed that the students had equal performance in spoken and written narrative. Finally, factor analysis manifested that group, sex, hearing age, and educational level of children might alter the outcome measures in various interactions. Conclusion. Although cochlear implantation was more effective than hearing aid on spoken and written narrative skills, the Persian-speaking students with hearing impairments were seen to need additional trainings on microstructure components of spoken/written narrative.

Many difficult literary texts have been disregarded by the teachers as well as the students in the EFL context. The abridged version, however, has its pedagogical usability when viewed as an extension of the literary text like movies and comic strips. Legible abridgments boost up the critical mind among the learners by enhancing their involvement in responding more actively to each class. In addition, to study an abridged version makes the future teachers accustomed to use it as a usable material. Abridgment has its efficacy in the literary study, too: reader-response criticism and narrative scholarship. First, the learners' creative engagement to the text encourages them to draw their personal experiences which are made up of the basic storyline. Second, a personal experience linked to the story has a relationship to narrative scholarship proposed in contemporary ecocriticism. Narrative scholarship is a new academic trend that merges the writer's personal experience in physical surroundings with the text which describes the same or similar natural environment. The role of teachers is a key to succeed in the abridged version pedagogy. They can facilitate a web of learner, text, and social context by providing a friendly atmosphere to encourage students' active participation, as well as supplementary materials of the original text.

Some fifty survivors participated in the narrative therapy sessions from March 2003 to December 2004, and thirty cases were analyzed using the transcripts. Each participant's surviving story was summarized, and then interpreted and reinterpreted by the survivors themselves in collaboration with the researcher. The two main principles in narrative analysis were hermeneutical distanciation and hermeneutical circulation. Result and Conclusion: First, nursing involvement should play active roles from the early stages of disaster incidents. Specifically, emergency nursing and flexible coping plans are to be available according to the specific properties of each case. Secondly, it is necessary to try to understand the extreme emotional experiences of disaster survival. The horror and pain people feel at an incident cannot simply be generalized, and it requires that each case be approached individually to help stop social alienation. Thirdly, more constant and long-term studies are required to set up nursing strategies for disaster survivors. Forming a trusting relationship with survivors is basic, and formally registering as participants is necessary for continuous interventions. Fourthly, we should deeply appreciate the danger and complexity of modern society and understand the complex nature of disaster. Fifthly, interdisciplinary activities and studies are necessary in combination with various other fields to establish a framework of total nursing care for disaster incidents. Lastly, it is urgently necessary to educate families and friends of the survivors and the society as a whole about life after a disaster.

The purpose of this paper was to explore the narrative strategy of storytelling advertisement videos for a beer brand Heineken. Heineken was one of the most active advertisers who had made very impressive ad videos. The author selected five story driven advertisement videos which had been most frequently watched by Internet viewers. Those were "The Insider", "Odyssey 2011", "Heineken lip gross", "Italy Activation Milan AC vs. Real Madrid", "the Match". The five selected videos have 90 second running time. The target videos were repeatedly watched and the expected key image cuts and key verbal copies were captured as well. To categorize the narrative structure and key copies of each video, Fog, Budtz & Yakaboylu's four element model of storytelling and Gustav Freytag's three act structure or five stage model of a plot were exploited as underlying theories. Most of the ad videos had clear boundary between or among the stages of the plot and used emotional appeals including humor and sexual appeals. This paper found that the target videos used visual rhetorics to enhance the viewers' persuasion and comprehension. It also revealed that the target videos took advantage of football match as an emotional engagement to get ad viewers closely banded with Heineken.

The Media facade is valuing more than utilizing to the display space and has potential as a new urban culture. The possible role of the contents, which can be a variety of expression can be seen that the more importance. Using narrative structure, which is a component of the story, discourse, temporality, spatiality, to analyze to the contents of media façade and this study suggests that new contents of narrative is an appropriate utilization at the new media environment.
