Effects of Feeding Purple Rice (Oryza sativa L. Var. Glutinosa) on the Quality of Pork and Pork Products

  • Purple rice is a strain of glutaneous rice rich in anthocyanins and ${\gamma}$-oryzanol. Both types of compounds are involved in antioxidant and lipid metabolism of mammals. Three experimental diet types were used which consisted approximately by half either of purple rice, white rice or corn. Diets were fed to $3{\times}10$ pigs growing from about 30 to 100 kg. Meat samples were investigated either as raw or cured loin chops or as smoked bacon produced from the belly. Various physicochemical traits were assessed and data were evaluated by analysis of variance. Traits describing water-holding capacity (drip, thaw, and cooking losses) and tenderness (sensory grading, shear force) of the meat were mostly not significantly affected by the diet type. However, purple rice feeding of pigs resulted in lower fat and cholesterol contents of loin and smoked bacon compared to white rice, but not compared to corn feeding except of the fat content of the loin. The shelf life of the raw loin chops was improved by purple rice as well. In detail, the occurrence of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances after 9 days of chilled storage was three to four times higher in the white rice and corn diets than with purple rice. The n-6:n-3 ratio in the raw loin chops was 9:1 with purple rice and clearly higher with 12:1 with the other diets, meat lipids. Level and kind of effect of purple rice found in raw meat was not always recovered in the cured loin chops and the smoked bacon. Still the impression of flavor and color, as well as overall acceptability were best in the smoked bacon from the purple-rice fed pigs, whereas this effect did not occur in the cured loin chops. These findings suggest that purple rice has a certain, useful, bioactivity in pigs concerning meat quality, but some of these effects are of low practical relevance. Further studies have to show ways how transiency and low recovery in meat products of some of the effects can be counteracted.

Effect of Green Tea Probiotics on the Growth Performance, Meat Quality and Immune Response in Finishing Pigs

  • The objective of this study was to determine the effects of green tea probiotics on growth performance, meat quality and immune response in finishing pigs, and to assess the possibility of substituting green tea probiotics for antibiotics in diets of finishing pigs. This green tea probiotics is made by mixing green tea powder and excipients (defatted rice bran and wheat bran) and fermenting the mixture with beneficial bacteria. A total of 90 crossbreed "Landrace$\times$Yorkshire" finishing pigs with an average body weight of $72.5{\pm}2.5kg$ were assigned to 5 dietary treatments in a completely randomized design. Each treatment had 3 replications with 6 pigs per replication. The five dietary treatments were control, antibiotic (0.003% chlortetracycline added) and 0.1, 0.5 and 1.0% of green tea probiotics. There were no significant differences in final body weight, daily weight gain, daily feed intake and feed conversion ratio in the green tea probiotics and antibiotic treatments (p>0.05). Crude protein content was significantly increased in the 0.1 and 1.0% green tea probiotics treatment groups (p<0.05) and there was no significant difference in crude fat content of the meat among the treatments. The TBA value of meat was significantly lowered with 0.5 and 1.0% green tea probiotics treatments compared to that of controls and statistically similar to the antibiotic treatment after 3 weeks of storage (p<0.05). The growth of spleen cells stimulated with Con A (0.1 and $1.0{\mu}g/ml$) was significantly increased with 1.0% green tea probiotics treatment compared to that of the control treatment (p<0.05). The growth of spleen cells stimulated with LPS (1.0, 3.0 and $10{\mu}g/ml$) was significantly increased in the 0.5% green tea probiotics group compared to the antibiotic group (p<0.05). In Con A ($1.0{\mu}g/ml$) medium, IL-6 production of spleen cells was significantly increased with 1.0% green tea probiotics treatment compared to that of the control (p<0.05). In LPS ($10.0{\mu}g/ml$) medium, TNF-${\alpha}$ production of spleen cells increased significantly in all green tea probiotics treatment groups compared to that of the control (p<0.05). Finally it can be summarized that addition of green tea probiotic has a positive effect similar to antibiotic and 0.5% is the suitable dietary supplementation dose for finishing pig production.

산채류를 이용한 음료 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Beverages Drinks Using Mountain Edible Herbs)

  • 산채 일반음료는 산채를 착즙하여 쥬스를 제조한 후 각종 부원료를 사용하여 최적의 배합비로 산채음료를 제조하였으며, 산채 발효음료는 Lactobacillus helveticus를 이용한 산채음료 원액과 시럽 믹스를 1 : 3으로 혼합한 다음, 균질기를 이용하여 균질화한 후 요구르트 향료를 첨가하여 발효음료를 제조하였다. 이 시제품들에 대한 일반분석 실험과 저장안정성 실험을 행하였다. 산채 일반음료의 일반분석 결과 37$^{\circ}C$에서 6개월간 저장시 수리취와 고려엉겅퀴음료의 pH는 각각 3.80과 3.7, 산도는 각각 0.50 및 0.49, OD값은 각각 1.021 및 1.119 로 나타났다. 그리고 저장안정성 시험은 상온 및 37$^{\circ}C$로 구분하여 6개월간 저장하면서 pH와 색도의 경시적 변화를 측정한 결과 상온에서의 pH의 변화는 수리취가 3.96~3.95, 고려 엉 겅퀴는 3.99~3.89로 각각 0.01과 0.1정도의 미미한 변화를 보였으며, 37$^{\circ}C$에서는 각각 3.95 ~3.83과 3.98~3.87로 0.12정도의 변화폭을 보였다. 산채 발효음료의 일반분석에서는 수리 취와 엉겅퀴의 pH는 각각 3.65와 3.70, 산도는 0.57 및 0.60, S.N.F.는 3.2 및 3.1 그리고 유산균수는 각각 2.5$\times$$10^{8}$ 과 4.0$\times$$10^{8}$ 으로 나타났다. 저장 안정성 실험은 4$^{\circ}C$에서 15일간 저장 하면서 pH와 산도의 경시적인 변화를 측정하였다. 수리취와 엉겅퀴의 pH는 3.56~3.39 및 3.67~3.48로 각 각 0.17과 0.19의 차이를 보였다.

Effects of Feeding Rancid Rice Bran on Growth Performance and Chicken Meat Quality in Broiler Chicks

  • A total of 225 day-old broiler chicks (43.08 g initial body weight) were allotted to three dietary treatments for a 6-week feeding trial. The treatments were 1) Control (defatted rice bran; DFRB), 2) fresh rice bran (FRB) and 3) rancid rice bran (RRB). Rice brans were intentionally spoiled by two degrees of rancidity by the values of free fatty acids (FFA): 7.6% (FRB) and 16.3% (RRB). Diets were prepared on an isonutrient basis, and defatted or rancid rice brans were included 5 and 10% for starter (0-3 week) and finisher (3-6 week), respectively. At the end of the feeding trial, six chicks per treatment were sacrificed, and thigh meats were ground and stored at $1^{\circ}C$ for thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and peroxide value (POV) analyses. For a digestibility, 48 growing chicks (4 weeks old) were employed in cages (3 replicates/treatment, 2 birds/cage) according to the experimental design: FRB, RRB, pelleted and extruded rice bran. Some of the FRB were pelleted ($70^{\circ}C$) or extruded ($110^{\circ}C$). There was no significant difference in growth performance during the starter period, but chicks fed a diet containing DFRB grew faster (p<0.05) with increased feed intake (p<0.05) than those fed diets containing rice brans, FRB or RRB, during the finisher period. Feed conversion ratio in the RRB was inferior (p<0.05) to the DFRB. Between rice bran groups, weight gain was higher (pco.os) in FRB than in RRB during finisher period. There was a similar trend in growth performance of chicks for the overall period (0-6 week) as the finisher period. Dry matter and energy digestibilities were higher (p<0.05) in extruded than in RRB group. Protein digestibility was improved (p<0.05) when rice bran was extruded, but not pelleted. The chicken meats from RRB showed higher (p<0.05) TBARS than those from FRB during storage for 4 weeks at $1^{\circ}C$. In conclusion, it would appear that feeding rancid rice bran gave negative effects on growth performance and lipid stability of meat in broiler chicks.

XML 시맨틱 캐쉬의 교체 기법 (A Technique of Replacing XML Semantic Cache)

  • 전자 거래에 있어 XML로 기술된 데이터가 증가하고, 이로부터 효율적인 질의 처리를 수행하는 기능의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 질의 처리 성능을 향상하기 위해 XML질의 결과를 캐쉬하는 방법이 주목을 받고 있는데 XML 질의 캐쉬 기법을 활용하기 위해서는 효율적인 캐쉬 교체 기법이 요구된다. 기존의 XML 캐쉬 교체기법에는 질의 결과를 교체 단위로 하는 방법과 질의 결과 내의 각 경로들을 교체 단위로 하는 방법이 있다. 첫 번째 방법은 간단한 운용이 가능하지만 효율적이지 못하고 두 번째 방법은 첫 번째 방법에 비해 효율적이지만 교체 단위 크기의 차이가 커서 캐쉬의 효율을 높이는 데 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 위 두 방법의 단점을 해결하기 위해 XML질의 결과 내의 모든 엘리먼트를 교체 단위로 하는 방법을 제시한다. 이는 교체 단위의 크기가 작고 최대 크기와 최소 크기의 차이도 작으므로 새로 캐쉬에 추가할 데이터의 크기보다 과도하게 큰 희생자가 발생하지 않고, 교체 후 캐쉬 내의 사용하지 않는 공간도 작아지게 되어 캐쉬의 효율성을 크게 향상시킬 수 있는 방법이다. 캐쉬 적중 빈도, 최근 접근 시간, 인출 지연 시간, XML 시맨틱 영역의 크기, XML 시맨틱 영역 내의 엘리먼트 크기 등을 종합적으로 고려하여 교체 희생자를 선택하기 위한 교체 함수를 바탕으로 하는 XML 시맨틱 캐쉬 교체 기법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시한 기법을 적용한 XML 시맨틱 캐쉬 시스템의 프로토타입을 구현하여 실제 LAN 환경에서 실험하였다. 실험 결과 기존의 XML 캐쉬 교체 기법에 비해 본 논문에서 제시한 XML 시맨틱 캐쉬 교체 기법이 더욱 효율적이었다

TiCl4를 출발원료로한 구형 Li4Ti5O12 분말합성 및 리튬이차 전지특성 (Electrochemical Properties of Lithium Secondary Battery and the Synthesis of Spherical Li4Ti5O12 Powder by Using TiCl4 As a Starting Material)

  • One of the greatest challenges for our society is providing powerful electrochemical energy conversion and storage devices. Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and fuel cells are among the most promising candidates in terms of energy and power density. As the starting material, $TiCl_4{\cdot}YCl_3$ solution and dispersing agent (HCP) were mixed and synthesized using ammonia as the precipitation agent, in order to prepare the nano size Y doped spherical $TiO_2$ precursor. Then, the $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ was synthesized using solid state reaction method through the stoichiometric mixture of Y doped spherical $TiO_2$ precursor and LiOH. The Ti mole increased the concentration of the spherical particle size due to the addition of HPC with a similar particle size distribution in a well in which $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ spherical particles could be obtained. The optimal synthesis conditions and the molar ratio of the Ti 0.05 mol reaction at $50^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes and at $850^{\circ}C$ for 6 hours heat treatment time were optimized. $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ was prepared by the above conditions as a working electrode after generating the Coin cell; then, electrochemical properties were evaluated when the voltage range of 1.5V was flat, the initial capacity was 141 mAh/g, and cycle retention rate was 86%; also, redox reactions between 1.5 and 1.7V, which arose from the insertion and deintercalation of 0.005 mole of Y doping is not a case of doping because the C-rate characteristics were significantly better.

트랜스코딩 프록시에서 세그먼트 기반 캐쉬 교체 정책 (Segment-based Cache Replacement Policy in Transcoding Proxy)

  • 최근 스트리밍 미디어는 인터넷 상의 많은 트래픽을 유발하고 있다. 기존의 웹을 위한 객체와 마찬가지로 스트리밍 객체 또한 프록시 시스템을 사용하게 되면 여러 이점이 있긴 하지만, 스트리밍 미디어를 캐슁 하는 방법은 기존의 웹을 위한 객체보다 매우 크고 높은 대역폭을 요구하기 때문에 고려해야 할 점이 많다. 또한 많은 종류의 단말들의 다양한 대역폭을 적절히 서비스 하기 위해서 프록시 기능과 트랜스코딩 기능을 함께 할 수 있는 트랜스코딩 프록시가 유용하다. 기존의 프록시는 객체가 프록시 서버에 저장되어 있거나, 그렇지 않은 경우로만 고려되었으나, 트랜스코딩 프록시에서는 같은 객체의 다양한 버전에 대해서 종합적인 효과를 고려하여 최적의 버전 집합을 저장 해야 한다. 또한 최근의 멀티미디어 캐슁 시스템들은 접근 빈도가 높은 앞부분을 캐슁하여 지연 시간을 줄이고 높은 효율을 얻을 수 있도록 하는 방법을 사용한다. 한편 많은 연구에서 멀티미디어 데이터의 효율적인 저장 관리를 위해서 객체를 세그먼트로 나누어 관리하는 방법을 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 부분 캐슁을 사용하는 트랜스코딩 프록시에서 사용자 요청에 따른 후속 작업을 결정하기 위해 4개의 기본 이벤트를 이용하여 9개의 이벤트로 정의한다. 또한 트랜스코딩 프록시 시스템을 위하여 세그먼트 기반의 관리정책을 제안한다. 실험결과는 제안하는 방법이 사용자 지연시간, BHR와 트랜스코딩 데이터의 양이 적음을 보여준다.

Coomassie brilliant blue G 및 R을 이용한 말 정액 첨체 염색 기법 (Acrosome staining with Coomassie brilliant blue G or R on the horse spermatozoa)

  • 말 정자의 첨체 손상도를 간단하게 분석하는 기술을 개발하기 위하여 Coomassie brilliant blue G 또는 R 염색 시약을 이용하여 정자 도말 슬라이드에 대한 염색도를 조사하였고, 3.7% paraformaldehyde (PF)과 35% methanol (MT) 고정제가 첨체 염색에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. PF로 고정한 후 말 정자 도말 슬라이드를 0.05, 0.1 및 0.2 % 농도 CBB에 각 2분간 염색을 실시하여 첨체를 관찰하면 0.05%의 경우 완전한 첨체 염색도가 G형에서 62.6%, R형은 61.5%로 관찰되었으나, 0.1 및 0.2%의 경우, 80.2 및 79.7%로 (G 형), 78.1 및 76.0%로 (R 형) 관찰되어 유의적 차이가 나타났다. 그러나 MT 고정제를 이용할 경우, 첨체 외막이 느슨해진 정자의 비율은 3.5%로 관찰되어 PF 고정제를 사용하면 9.0%로 관찰되어 유의적으로 낮게 관찰되었다. 이러한 결과는 말정자첨체손상도를 관찰하기 위하여 CBB G 또는 R형 염색시약을 0.1~0.2% 농도로 이용될 수 있음을 증명한다. 또한, 말 정자 슬라이드 도말을 고정하는데 있어 고정제의 선택이 중요하며 MT보다 PF를 활용하는 것이 첨체 변화 과정 중인 정자를 관찰하는데 중요하다는 보여 준다. 이러한 방법은 말의 인공수정을 위한 정액의 저온저장 또는 동결보존과정 중에서 정자첨체손상율을 정확하게 판별하는데 이용될 수 있음을 증명한다.

진공함침을 적용한 바인더젯 3D 프린팅 출력물의 성능 평가 (Evaluation of Binder jetting 3D Printed Specimens Using Vacuum Impregnation)

  • 본 연구는 바인더젯 3D 프린팅 출력물의 강도증진을 위하여 진공함침 후처리 공정의 적용성을 검토하였다. 또한, 출력물 크기에 따른 강도발현 한계를 확인하기 위하여 10 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm 및 40 mm 큐빅 출력물을 대상으로 침투성, 부피밀도 및 압축강도를 확인하였다. 그 결과, 진공함침 후처리 공정에서 최대압력이 증가함에 따라 후처리 용액이 출력물 내부까지 침투하게 되고 이에 따라서 침투면적률이 개선되는 것을 확인하였다. 출력물 압축강도율과 후처리 용액 침투면적률은 보정결정계수 0.992의 지수함수 형태의 상관관계를 나타내고 있다. 또한, 부피밀도가 증가하였으며 이는 후처리 용액이 내부까지 침투한 것으로 유추할 수 있다. 결론적으로 바인더젯 3D 프린팅 출력물의 강도증진을 위해서는 출력물 내부까지 후처리 용액을 침투하는 것이 필수적이며, 이를 위한 유효한 방법으로써 진공함침을 제안한다.

치위생(학)과 학생의 치과감염관리에 관한 인식현황 (Current conditions regarding dental infection management recognition of students in the department of dental hygiene)

  • This research was performed to provide basic data for the development of infection related dental hygiene studies by surveying the current condition of recognition among students in the department of dental hygiene toward hospital infection management while receiving the following results by using a personal self-administered survey method targeting 303 students in the department of dental hygiene from certain areas. 1. With the current condition of recognition on the sanitization and sterilization of instruments among students in the department of dental hygiene(study), the rate at which surgical instruments are to be sterilized with autoclaves was 79.9% which was relatively higher than other instruments while it was shown that prosthetic instruments for treatment was 56.4%, conservative instruments for treatment was 51.8%, and ultrasonic scaler tip was 51.1% while the way syringe tips(36.1%) and the dental anesthetic apparatus(27.9%) were revealed to require sanitization by alcohol. 2. The 'hand wash' area was the highest with 4.71 while the 'materials and environment management' area and 'equipment management' area appeared high respectively with 4.43 and 4.41. 3. With the current condition of recognition on equipment management, 'equipments used for contagious patients are separately washed after a one-time use and must be sterilized or separated-and-discarded' was the highest with 4.82 while 'sterilization equipments with humidity or water on it are considered contaminated and are not used' showed the lowest recognition level with 3.90. 4. Regarding the current condition of materials and environment management, 'contagious and general trash are separated and discarded' was the highest with 4.70 while 'the refrigerator for medicine storage is cleaned on a regular basis once a month' was revealed as the lowest with 4.11. 5. With the current condition of recognition on hand washing, 'one must wash their hands after coming in contact with contagious patients, was the highest with 4.90 while washing hands after taking off gloves' appeared as the lowest with 4.51 point. To conclude department of dental hygiene there is to infection management and necessary about organization disinfecting and pasteurization to strengthen an education in order raising a stamp helping practical ratio about the infection management which whole, is from presence at a sickbed and connection does and about the infection management which is substantial and educational program development leads feed with the fact that deepening studying which is continuous must become accomplished becomes.
