현삼 및 섬현삼 종자의 저장조건에 따른 발아특성 연구 (Effect of Storage Condition on the Germination of Scrophularia buergeriana and Scrophularia takesimensis)

  • Background: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of germination temperature, storage container and storage temperature on Scrophularia buergeriana and Scrophularia takesimensis seeds. Methods and Results: Seed lengths of both species were 0.8 mm, while seed width differed, with S. buergeriana measuring 0.5 mm and S. takesimensis measuring 0.4 mm. The seeds of S. buergeriana were packaged in paper containers under room temperature ($15^{\circ}C$), cold temperature ($4^{\circ}C$), and freeze temperature ($-20^{\circ}C$). These seeds exhibited around 80% germination rate at temperatures between $15^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$. The germiantion rate of S. takesimensis, on the other hand, differed significantly at different germination temperatures. Seeds of S. takesimensis which were packaged in vinyl and paper containers and stored under room and cold temperatures, exhibited around 80% germination rate at $15^{\circ}C$. However, the germination rate of freeze-stored seeds were decreased to lower than 20% at germination temperatures of $15^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$ germiantion conditions. The rate of germination showed a low positive to a significantly negativie correlation with the other factor that were determined to evaluate the germination performance. Conclusions: This study elucidates the most suitable germination and storage conditions to increase the germination rate for the two species of Scrophularia buergeriana and Scrophularia takesimensis needs to be stored in paper containers under cold temperature and requires a temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ for germination. On the other hand, S. takesimensis in vinyl containers need to be stored at room temperature and those in paper containers at cold temperature, and a temperature of $15^{\circ}C$ is required for germination.

시뮬레이션에 의한 컨테이너 물류시스템의 분석에 관하여(BCTOC를 중심으로) (An Analysis of Container Logistics System by Computer Simulation)

  • Because of the sharp increase of its export and import container cargo volumes contrast to the lack of related Container Terminal facility, equipment and inefficient procedure, there is now heavy container cargo congestions in Pusan Container Terminal. As a result of such a situation, many container ships avoid their calls into Pusan port. This is a major cause that in tum kads to weakening intemational competitiveness of the Korean industry. This study, therefore, aims are to make a quantitative analysis of Container Terminal System through the computer simulation, especially focusing on its 4 sub-system of a handling system, 'it is checked whether the current operation is being performed effectively through the computer simulation. The overall findings are as folIows; Firstly, average tonnage of the ships visiting the BCTOC was 32,360 G/T in from January '96, to may '96. The average arrival interval and service time of container ships at BCTOC are 5.63 hours and 18.67 hours respectively. Ship's arrival and service pattern at BCTOC was exponential distribution with 95% confidence and Erlang-4 distribution with 99% confidence. Secondly, average waiting time and number of ships was 9.9 hours, 235 ships(38%) among 620 ships. Number of stevedoring container per ship was average 747.7 TED, standard deviation 379.1 TEU and normal distribution with 99% confidence. Thirdly, from the fact that the average storage days of containers at BCTOC are 2.75 days (3.0 days when import, 2.5 days when export). it is founds that most containers were transfered to the off-dock storage areas with the free periods(5 days when import, 4 days when export), the reason for which is considered to be the insufficient storage area at BCTOC. Fourthly, in the case of gate in-out at BCTOC, occupied containers and emptied containers are 89% and 11% respectively in the gate-in, 75% and 25% seperately in the gate-out. Finally, from the quantitative analysis results for container terminal at BCTOC, ship's average wating time of ships was found to be 20.77 hours and berth occupancy rate(${\rho}$) was 0.83. 5~6 berths were required in order that the berth occupancy rate(${\rho}$) may be maintained up to 60% degree.

Improvement of Shelf-life and Quality in Fresh-cut Tomato Slices

  • Quality of fresh-cut tomato slices was compared during cold storage under various modified atmosphere packaging conditions. Chilling injury of slices in containers sealed with Film A was higher than with Film B; these films had oxygen transmission rates of 87.4 and 60.0 ml h-1 m-2 nun-1 at $5^{\circ}C$ and $99\%$ RH, respectively. While slices in containers with an initial atmospheric composition of air, $4\%$ CO2 + 1 or $20\%\;O_2, \;8\%\;CO_2+1$ or $20\%\;O_2$, or $12\%\; CO_2+\;20\%\;O_2$ showed fungal growth, slices in containers with $12\%\;CO_2 +\;1\%\;O_2$ did not. Low ethylene in containers enhanced chilling injury. Modified atmosphere packaging provided good quality tomato slices with a shelf-life of 2 weeks or more at $5^{\circ}C$. Experiments were conducted to compare changes in quality of slices of red tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. 'Sunbeam') fruit from plants grown using black polyethylene or hairy vetch mulches under various foliar disease management systems including: no fungicide applications (NF), a disease forecasting model (Tom-Cast), and weekly fungicide applications (WF), during storage at $5^{\circ}C$ under a modified atmosphere. Slices were analyzed for firmness, soluble solids content (SCC), titratable acidity (TA), pH, electrolyte leakage, fungi, yeasts, and chilling injury. With both NF and Tom-Cast fungicide treatments, slices from tomato fruit grown with hairy vetch (Vicia villosa Roth) mulch were firmer than those from tomato fruit grown with black polyethylene mulch after 12 days storage. Ethylene Production of slices from fruit grown using hairy vetch mulch under Tom-Cast was about 1.5- and 5-fold higher than that of slices from WF and NF fungicide treatments after 12 days, respectively. 공 컨테이너 반출 시 발생하는 재취급 횟수 비교 (Comparing Expected Numbers of Re-Handles for Empty Containers During Gate-Out Operation)

  • 컨테이너 터미널에서 한정된 공간에서 공 컨테이너를 선사별, 컨테이너 종류별로 구분하지 않고 혼적하여 보관하면 장치공간은 효율적으로 활용할 수 있지만 재취급이 증가하는 문제가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 여러 가지 보관 전략에 따른 장치장에 공 컨테이너가 섞여 있는 상태와 반출 작업에 사용하는 야드 장비에 따라 재취급의 기대 횟수를 추정하는 수식을 유도하고 수치실험을 통하여 비교하였다. 인출비율과 수리비율 변화에 따른 기대 재취급 횟수 변화도 분석하였다. 그리고 장치 규모 변화에 따른 기대 재취급 횟수를 비교하고, 복수 선박의 컨테이너가 혼재된 상태에서 장치비율 및 인출비율 변화에 따른 기대 재취급 횟수를 분석하였다. 공 컨테이너 대상 기대 재취급 횟수를 고려한 효율적인 운영전략에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

저장용기에 따른 김치 저장 중의 화학적, 미생물학적 특성 (Storage container-dependent chemical and microbiological characteristics during kimchi storage)

  • 김치는 한국의 전통발효식품으로서 건강식품으로 여겨지고 있다. 일반적으로 한국에서는 김치를 가정에서 제조하여 김치냉장고에 저장한다. 저장기간 동안 물리화학적, 미생물학적 변화가 일어나며 이는 김치의 품질에 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 김치의 품질에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 저장용기(폴리프로필렌-PP, 스테인리스 스틸-STS, 세라믹)를 달리 하여 김치를 담은 후 0℃로 설정된 냉장고에 보관하면서 화학적, 미생물학적 특성을 비교 분석하였다. pH의 경우 PP와 STS 용기에 저장된 김치 시료는 16일째 각각 4.59과 4.53에 도달한 반면 세라믹 용기에 저장된 김치시료는 4.92에 도달하였으며 그 차이의 경향은 32일까지 유지되었다. 산도의 경우 PP와 STS 용기에 저장된 김치 시료는 8일째 각각 0.24와 0.25%인 반면 세라믹 용기의 시료는 0.22%로 다소 낮게 나타났으며 그 추세는 20일까지 유지되었다. 유산균 수는 큰 변화없이 유동적이었으며 32일째 PP, STS 및 세라믹 용기에 저장된 김치 시료 각각 4.87, 5.44 및 5.35 Log CFU/g으로 나타났다. 미생물 균총 분석에서는 용기 종류에 상관없이 Leuconostoc gelidum과 Lactobacillus algidus 종이 김치 저장기간에 따라 우점종으로 확인되었으며 세라믹 용기에 저장된 김치 시료에서만 20일째 호냉성 김치유산균인 Weissella koreensis 종이 다른 용기의 시료에 비해 상대적으로 높은 비율로 나타났다. 결론적으로 김치냉장고와 같이 저온에서 김치를 저장할 경우 저장용기로서 세라믹 재질의 용기를 사용할 경우 김치의 품질 유지 측면에서 장점을 가질 수 있다.

경주 중·저준위방사성폐기물 처분시설의 방폐물검사건물에서 해체 방사성폐기물 대상 방사선작업종사자의 피폭선량 평가 및 작업조건 도출 (The Assessment of Exposure Dose of Radiation Workers for Decommissioning Waste in the Radioactive Waste Inspection Building of Low and Intermediate-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility)

  • 한국원자력환경공단은 처분시설 내 1단계 인수·저장구역의 인수검사 공간 및 드럼 취급 공간 부족에 대한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 방폐물검사건물을 건설하여 저장·처리능력을 확충할 예정이다. 본 연구에서는 MCNP 코드를 이용하여 방폐물검사건물 내 저장구역에서 취급하는 해체 방사성폐기물 대상 신형처분용기를 대상으로 작업종사자의 피폭선량을 평가하였다. 평가결과, 시설 내 저장 가능한 최대 용기 개수(304개)와 방사선작업에 대한 연간 예상 작업시간(약 306시간)에 대하여 연간 집단선량은 총 84.8 man-mSv로 계산되었다. 시설 내 총 304개의 신형처분용기(소형/중형 타입)가 저장 완료된 시점에서 인수검사, 처분검사를 위한 작업종사자의 투입인력은 총 25명, 작업종사자 당 예상피폭선량은 연평균 3.39 mSv로 산출되었다. 소형용기 취급 시 작업종사자의 고방사선량 작업에 따른 작업효율과 방사선적 안전성 확보를 위해서는 콘크리트 라이너의 두께를 증가시키는 추가적인 차폐가 필요할 것으로 평가되었다. 향후 본 연구를 바탕으로 실측기반의 해체폐기물의 선원항과 특성을 활용하여 방사선작업 당 작업시간 및 투입인력을 산출함으로써 작업종사자의 최적의 방사선작업조건을 도출할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

상품성 제고를 위한 고구마 수확 후 관리 및 출하기술 (Postharvest Handling and Marketing Management for Making High Salability of Sweetpotatoes)

  • The qualities including taste of sweetpotato stored during the winter which can display in the spring market in Korea are affected by availability of storage for the roots. In order to make high storage availability of sweetpotato, the postharvest handlings should be done thoroughly from the moment of harvest until shipping them to the market. A lot of procedures that must be handled carefully for improving postharvest management are as follows; digging, trimming, gathering, putting in storage containers, carrying them from field to house, curing, storing, washing, drying, selecting marketable roots, packing and shipping to the market, etc.. Sweetpotatoes have a high moisture content, and a relatively thin and delicate skin, and are sensitive to chilling, so careless postharvest handling can lead to both quantitative and qualitative losses which may be extremely high in some circumstances. From now on research has concentrated on the improvement of postharvest conditions to increase yield and lower disease rates. Storage, which makes sweetpotatoes available through out the year, benefits both the producer and the consumer. Seven very important points must be needed in order to get the best quality marketable roots in the storing of sweetpotatos : $\circled1$The storage house must be clean and sanitary, $\circled2$The crop must be harvested before the first frost to avoid low-temperature injury, $\circled3$Particular care must be taken to avoid cutting, bruising, or other injuries of the sweetpotatoes during digging, picking up, grading, placing in containers, and moving to the storage house, $\circled4$Select sound, disease-free roots for storage $\circled5$Sweetpotatoes should be stored in properly stacked containers $\circled6$Cure immediately after harvest, preferably at 32∼33$^{\circ}C$ and 90 to 95 percent relative humidity for 4 to 7 days, After curing the temperature should be reduced to 13$^{\circ}C$ to 16$^{\circ}C$ by ventilating the storage with outside air. $\circled7$Store at 12$^{\circ}C$ to 14$^{\circ}C$ and a relative humidity of 80 to 85 percent. Storage houses should be located on suitable sites and should be tightly constructed and insulated so that temperature and humidity will be uniform. Sweetpotatoes are usually not washed and graded, and lately sometimes washed, graded, waxed, before being shipped to market. Consumer packaging of sweetpotatoes in paper boxes(10-15kg) or film bags is done mainly to aid marketing. The shelf life of washed roots in consumer packs in only 1 to 2 weeks. Weight loss of roots during marketing is much less in perforated film bags than in mesh and paper bags. Perforation of 0.8 to 1kg polyethylene bags with about six 6mm holes is essential ; to lower the internal relative humidity and avoid excessive sprouting, rooting, and dampness. Development and use of better postharvest handling with good storage facilities or marketing methods can minimize sweetpotate losses and has an effect of indirectly increasing productivity and farmer’s income.

염장고등어의 히스타민 변화 조사 -보관용기 중심으로- (Investigating changes of histamine content in salted mackerel - on storage containers -)

  • In order to find a way to reduce histamine formation when storing salted mackerel at home, a series of experiments were carried to monitor the time-related changes of histamine content, total aerobic bacteria and coliform quality of mackerel marketed in Incheon by the type of storage containers (clean, zipper and vacuum bag) during storage at $4^{\circ}C$, $24^{\circ}C$ and $-20^{\circ}C$ for 10 days. Histamine formation was continuously increased with passing time during storage at $4^{\circ}C$, whereas it was decreased after 3 days during storage at $24^{\circ}C$. The initial value of histamine was maintained during storage at $-20^{\circ}C$ for 10 days. During storage at $4^{\circ}C$, total aerobic bacteria and coliform showed a tendency to increased rapidly till 3day and then decreased gradually. The formation of histamine was increased in the order of vacuum bag$4^{\circ}C$.

적하작업을 위한 공 컨테이너 기대 재취급 횟수 추정 (Estimating the Expected Number of Re-handles for Empty Containers during Loading Operation)

  • 공 컨테이너 장치장의 사양, 취급 장비, 운영방법이 공 컨테이너 적하 시 발생할 수 있는 재취급 기대횟수에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 다수 선사의 다양한 유형의 공 컨테이너를 서로 분리된 공간에 저장한다면 저장 공간을 충분히 활용할 수 없고, 저장 공간의 활용도를 높이기 위해 여러 선사의 공 컨테이너를 혼적하여 함께 저장한다면 적하작업 중에 추가로 재취급이 발생할 수 있다. 한 베이에서 적하작업을 위하여 공 컨테이너를 인출하는 시점에 기대되는 재취급 횟수를 계산하기 위해 필요한 여러 가지 수식을 유도하였다. 트랜스퍼 크레인과 탑 핸들러를 취급 장비로 간주하여 다양한 인출 전략을 검토하였다. 장치장의 다양한 설계 및 운영 매개 변수가 재취급 횟수에 미치는 효과를 확인할 목적으로 수치실험을 수행하였다.

Dispatching Vehicles Considering Multi-lifts of Quay Cranes

  • To improve the ship operation in automated container terminals, it is important to schedule different types of handling equipment to operate synchronously. For example, a vehicle with container receiving and lifting capabilities is used to transport containers from a storage yard to a vessel and vice versa, while a triple quay crane (QC) can handle up to three 40-ft containers simultaneously. This paper discusses the manner in which vehicles should be assigned to containers to support such multi-lifts of QCs by using information about the locations and times of deliveries. A mixed-integer programming model is introduced to optimally assign delivery tasks to vehicles. This model considers the constraint imposed by the limited buffer space under each QC. A procedure for converting buffer-space constraints into time window constraints and a heuristic algorithmfor overcoming the excessive computational time required for solving the mathematical model are suggested. A numerical experiment is conducted to compare the objective values and computational times of the heuristic algorithm with those of the optimizing method to evaluate the performance of the heuristic algorithm.
