  • The most common method of pipeline inspection is to use a remote-controlled-machine equipped with a CCTV, which, however, has many limitations to accurately inspect pipeline condition. In case of a typical CCTV, since the camera looks at the end point of the pipe, the locations of the defects and distance-readings are often different. In addition, the quality and accuracy of the inspection is highly dependent on the operator's skill and experience. In this research a new system is developed by use of the image processing techniques and the lens combination. The image acquisition system is developed that acquires the front and the side view of the pipe simultaneously. Side view unwrapping and stitching technology using image process techniques are developed which delivers high resolution image data.

  • Experimental investigations of interlaminar mechanical properties for carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) laminates were carried out using aramid fiber ($Kevlar^{(R)}$-29 1000d) and carbon fiber (TR40-1K 612d, Mitsubishi Rayon) stitching. Various carbon fiber (CF) stitch densities were used to prepare a number of CF stitched CFRP laminates for double cantilever beam (DCB) tests. An insert tongue-type loading fixture, developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (formerly the National Aerospace Laboratory of Japan), was also employed in the DCB test. Interlaminar tension tests were carried out under an out-of-plane directional loading using a single CF stitch thread in the CFRP laminates. The DCB test results clarified that the relationship between the volume fractions of the CF stitch thread ($V_{ft}$) and mode I critical energy release rate ($G_{Ic}$) showed a mostly linear function with a higher gradient than that of the $Kevlar^{(R)}$ stitched CFRP laminates. The CF stitched CFRP tension test results indicated that the consumption energy per unit area ($E_i$) was larger than that of $Kevlar^{(R)}$ stitched CFRP laminates.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of fur and leather clothes of minority races of China in Northeas and Inner Mongolia. To examine their characteristics, the clothes and ornaments were classified into four types: headwear, clothes, footwear, and accessories. First, headwear was divided into animal head-shaped, petal-shaped, round-shaped, and cone-shaped head wear. Among them, the animal head-shaped headwear was made by making the best use of the shape of animal's head and it was used as the best disguising method when hunting. Second, clothes were composed of upper garments and lower garments. For the upper garments, Po and Jeogori were worn and pants were worn for the lower garments. The clothes were decorated with lining, applique, or top-stitching on the outer collar, neck circumference, and the edge of sleeves and pants. Third, for the footwear, high boots of leather were developed to meet the needs for a convenient life in the plains. In some areas, fur shoes and leather shoes were also used. Finally, accessories included bags and gloves. Bags were usually decorated with fur on the outside or with a fringe or applique of tanned leather. Gloves were lavishly decorated with embroideries and partly with fur or leather.

  • The popularization and development of 3D display makes common users easy to experience a solid 3D virtual reality, the demand for virtual reality contents are increasing. This paper proposes VR panorama system using vanishing point location-based depth map generation method. VR panorama using depth map gives an effect that makes users feel staying at real place and looking around nearby circumstances.

  • The panorama is a good alternative to overcome narrow FOV under study in robot vision, stereo camera and panorama image registration and modeling. The panorama can materialize view with angles wider than human view and provide realistic space which make feeling of being on the scene based on realism. If we use all correspondence, it is too difficult to find strong features and correspondences and assume accurate homography matrix in geographic changes in images as load of calculation increases. Accordingly, we used SURF algorithm to estimate overlapping areas with high similarity by comparing and analyzing the input images' histograms and to detect features. And we solved the problem of input order so we can make panorama by input images without order.

  • The stitching method for the synthesis of $Fr\acute{e}chet$-type dendrimers was elaborated using click chemistry between an alkyne and an azide. The core building block, 4,4'-(3,5-bis(azidopropyloxy)benzyloxy)bisphenyl, was designed to serve as the azide functionalities for dendrimer growth via click reactions with the alkyne-dendrons. The synthetic strategy involved an 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction between an azide and an alkyne-functionalized $Fr\acute{e}chet$-type dendrons in the presence of Cu(I) species which is known as the best example of click chemistry.

  • The purposes of this paper is to propose new techniques to reconstruct measured optical images by using the template matching and B-Spline interpolation method based on image processing technology. To do this, we detect the matching template and non-matching template from each optical image. And then, we match the overlaped images from base level by correcting roll, pitch, and yaw error of images. At last, the matching image is interpolated by B-Spline interpolation. Finally, we show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through some experiments.

  • An alternative to the multilayered preforming is to use structures reinforced through-the-thickness in order to manufacture thicker and more complex pieces. Stitching technology is developed to bind dry reinforcements together or to strengthen composites in thickness performance by inserting structural yarns. Tufting process represents the simplest one-sided sewing technology and it is specifically designed for dry preform/liquid composite molding process route. Currently, the tufting technology is getting more and more interest due to its simplest and efficient process where it involves the insertion of binder threads via a single needle through the fabric. This technique of reinforcement through-the-thickness requires only one access to the preform which makes it suitable for three-dimensional structures and complex shaped textile composites. This paper aims to improve the understanding of the mechanical performance of tufted structures. An experimental study was developed, which included tensile and bending behaviours of tufted and un-tufted preforms, in order to evaluate the effect of tufting on the mechanical performance of dry preforms. The influence of the process parameters (tufting density, loop length, tufting yarns${\ldots}$) on the mechanical performance ofthe final structure is also highlighted.

  • Seam finding algorithm is one of the most important techniques to construct the high quality 360 VR image. We found that some degradations, such as ghost effect, are generated when the conventional seam finding algorithms (for examples, Voronoi algorithm, Dynamic Programming algorithm, Graph Cut algorithm) are applied, because those make the inefficient masks which cross the body of main objects. In this paper, we proposed an advanced seam finding algorithm providing the efficient masks which go through background region, instead of the body of objects. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional techniques in the viewpoint of the quality of the stitched image.

  • In this paper, we propose a efficient feature point extraction method that can solve the problem of performance degradation by introducing a preprocessing process when extracting feature points by utilizing the characteristics of 360-degree realistic media. 360-degree realistic media is composed of images produced by two or more cameras and this image combining process is accomplished by extracting feature points at the edges of each image and combining them into one image if they cover the same area. In this production process, however, the stitching process where images are combined into one piece can lead to the distortion of non-seamlessness. Since the realistic media of 4K-class image has higher resolution than that of a general image, the feature point extraction and matching process takes much more time than general media cases.
