BWIM시스템을 이용한 중차량의 통행특성 분석 (Analysis of Truck Traffic Characteristics using BWIM System)

  • 도로상의 교량이나 기타구조물의 설계 및 유지관리를 위해서 도로상을 주행하는 중차량의 통행자료가 필요하다. 현재 국내에서 주로 이용되는 정적인 측정은 많은 시간과 인원이 필요하고 차종분포나 차간거리등은 수집할 수 없다. 특히 위치가 노출되어 신뢰성있는 자료을 얻지 못하는 단점이 있다. BWIM시스템은 교량을 이용하여 차량을 정지시키지않고 중량을 계측하는 시스템으로 정확하고 광범위한 자료를 얻을 수 있는 장치이다. 본 연구에서는 국내에서는 처음으로 BWIM시스템을 교량에 설치하여 그 적용성을 검증하고 시스템으로부터 얻어지는 여러 가지 자료를 분석하였다. 또한 과적검문소자료, Toll Gate자료 등 다른 방법에 의한 수집자료와 비교분석하여 일일교통량, 중량분포, 대표차량, 과적차량현황 등 여러가지 중차량의 통행특성들을 구하였다.

The effects of water-based exercise on postural control in children with spastic cerebral palsy

  • Objective: Swimming and water-based exercise (WE) programs can provide vigorous physical activity in a fun and a motivating environment. The properties of water, may make it easier for children with cerebral palsy (CP) to move and to participate in an WE program. The aims of this study was to evaluate the effect of WEs on postural control in children with spastic CP. Design: Quasi-experimental design (one group pretest-posttest design). Methods: Twenty preschoolers with spastic CP participated in this study. Prior to the application, sufficient warm-up training was performed to allow the subjects to adapt to the water. Afterwards, three different types of underwater leg exercises for the flexor, extensor, and adductor/abductor of muscles of the lower limb were performed. The WE program lasted during 8 weeks, with one-40 minute sessions per week (8 training session). The usual care was performed during the training session. The Korean-trunk control measurement scale (K-TCMS) and weight distribution variability (difference of both Fz) were measured before and after training session. Results: According to the results, the K-TCMS scores of the three sub-levels, including static sitting, dynamic sitting, and dynamic reaching, was significantly increased after the training session (p<0.05). Also, the weight distribution variability was significantly decreased after 8 weeks (p<0.05). Conclusions: We suggest that WEs may improve the postural control ability in children with spastic CP. Furthermore, we support the need for additional research on the effect of WE on gait or activity of daily living performance with a control group included.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of combination of isotonic and rhythmic stabilization in proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on trunk stability and balance in elderly people with chronic low back pain. Subjects : Thirty-two elderly people ($73.78{\pm}8.49$ years of age) who had complaints of CLBP were randomly assigned to 2 groups: experimental group and control group. Methods : Subject trained with combination of isotonic and rhythmic stabilization in proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation for 4weeks with aim of improving trunk stability and balance. Weight distribution, trunk muscle balance, static balance ability and dynamic balance ability were measured before, at the end of training. Results : Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. After the exercise programs, there were significant differences in the weight distribution, trunk muscle balance and dynamic balance ability between the experimental and control group. However there was no significant difference in the one leg stance test(p<.05). Conclusion : This study suggest that PNF programs may be appropriate for improving trunk stability and balance in elderly people with CLBP.

아스파라거스에서 1-MCP와 CEPA 처리에 따른 CO2 및 에틸렌 발생과 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics, Carbon Dioxide, and Ethylene Production of Asparagus (Asparagus officinalis L.) Treated with 1-Methylcyclopropene and 2-Chloroethylphosphonic Acid during Storage)

  • 아스파라거스는 수확 후 품질변화가 심하여, 보존 전에 1-MCP 등의 전처리를 통하여 상품성 유지효과를 검정하고자 하였다. 아스파라거스를 1-MCP 및 CEPA 처리 후 $7^{\circ}C$에 저장하면서 에틸렌과 $CO_2$ 발생 등을 관찰하였다. 또한 저장전 처리에 따라 발생되는 에틸렌 및 $CO_2$ 발생량을 측정방법에 따라 연속적인 방법과 비연속적인 방법으로 측정하였다. 아스파라거스 유통 중 불량환경을 가정한 CEPA 처리에 의해 에틸렌 가스 발생 및 호흡 특성이 달라지는데 1-MCP와의 혼용처리로 에틸렌의 영향을 상쇄시키는 것으로 나타났다. CEPA 처리는 에틸렌 및 $CO_2$ 가스 발생이 증가하며, 1-MCP 혼용처리로 인해 발생량이 감소하였고 1-MCP 단용처리는 무처리에 비해 에틸렌 발생에 큰 차이가 없었으나, $CO_2$ 발생량을 다소 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. $CO_2$ 발생에서 연속측정(flow-system)이 비연속적 측정보다 변화 경향이나 처리간의 차이가 명확히 나타났다. 형태적이나 생체중량, 가용성고형물, 삼투몰 농도에 있어서 1-MCP는 CEPA에 의한 영향을 경감시키는 효과는 있었으나, CEPA 처리와 같이 외생적인 에틸렌과 조우하지 않는다면 무처리에 비해서는 큰 효과를 보이지 못하였다. 아스파라거스에서 1-MCP 처리는 불량 환경조건에서 발생되는 외생 에틸렌의 영향을 상쇄시킬 수 있을 것으로 보였으며, 전처리를 통한 상품성 유지가 기대된다.

신개념 FRP-콘크리트 합성 바닥판의 거동 특성 고찰 (A Study on the Behavior Characteristics of a New-Type FRP-Concrete Composite Deck)

  • A new-type of FRP-concrete composite bridge deck system is proposed and its behaviors are experimentally studied. The new-typedeck consists of FRP as a permanent form and main tension resisting member and concrete as a compression resisting member. A suitable bonding method such as silica coating is applied to the interface between FRP and concrete to ensure composite behavior. The proposed deck system uses the box-shape FRP member, while a typical FRP-concrete composite deck uses the I-shape FRP member. Theproposed deck system has inherent advantages of a FRP-concrete composite deck like corrosion free and easy construction. The new-type deck shows the equal performances compared to a previous one, and has the advantage of reducing self-weight. In this study, the static tests on 3-span FRP-concrete decks in full scale are carried out, so that load-displacement relation, stress distribution, failure mode and design criteria are analyzed. The test results show that the deflection design criterion (L/800, L: span length) is satisfied at the service load state. No concrete tensile crack occurs in the negative moment region above the main girder, regardless of no tensile reinforcement at upper concrete portion.

진공예압형 다공질 공기베어링의 압력분포 및 성능해석 (Analysis on the Static Performance of Vacuum-Preloaded Porous Air Bearings)

  • Air bearings are widely used in precision stages because of low friction and high motion accuracy, however, they suffer from low stiffness in comparison with rolling bearings or hydrostatic bearings. So, several preloading methods using weight, magnet and vacuum force, and opposing pads have been used to increase the stiffness of the air bearings. In this paper, pressure distributions of the vacuum preloaded porous air bearings are calculated using the proposed method. And then, the load capacity and stiffness are analyzed. For the vacuum preloaded air bearings, the stiffness is increased owing to reduced bearing clearance by vacuum force. The simulation results indicate that variation of vacuum pressure with clearance in the vacuum pocket gives rise to low stiffness, so the vacuum pocket should be designed for pressure to be constantly maintained regardless of the bearing clearance by means of large effective pumping speed.

초대형 콘테이너선의 축계정렬 계산 사례 소개 (The Introduction of Shaft Alignment Calculation for very Large Container Vessel)

  • Recently, it is much more required to approach the accurate shaft alignment analysis according to the tendency of active showing in large container vessel and that of the heavy weight of propeller in connection with it. Shaft alignment calculation lies upon how the pressure apply on bearings properly in operation of main engine and how the stress of shaft puts within that of limit of bearing material and how the movement of shaft is prospected owing to propeller forces and moments. Therefore, we have conducted the shaft alignment calculation of very large container vessel considering the deformation of hull structure and the propeller forces and moments and the static and dynamic condition of shaft. The calculation results show the pressure distribution of aft bush and the movement of shaft in bearing. The shaft alignment calculation helps the stable application of shaft alignment, which was proved in sea trial.

Effect of Cryotherapy on Muscle Strength and Balance on the Ankle Joint in Patients with Stroke

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effects of cryotherapy on the ankle joint muscle strength and balance ability in stroke patients with ankle joint muscles. Methods: In this study, 20 patients with chronic stroke were recruited from a rehabilitation hospital. The patients were divided into two groups: a cryotherapy group (10 patients) and a control group (10 patients). The cryotherapy group performed sit-to-stand training for 15 minutes and then cryotherapy for the minutes. In the control group, after sit-to-stand training for 15 minutes, blocked cryotherapy was provided for three minutes. In both groups, the interventions were provided five times a week for three weeks. The strength of the ankle joint muscles was measured before and after the training using the Biodex systems 3. The static balance ability was measured using balancia software, and the dynamic balance ability was measured by performing the sit-to-stand test (FTSST) five times. Results: After the training periods, the cryotherapy group showed significant improvement in the ankle dorsiflexor strength, ankle plantarflexor strength, weight distribution of the affected side, and FTSST compared to the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Based on these results, cryotherapy could be considered an effective method to improve the strength of ankle joint muscles. Cryotherapy improves muscle strength as it increases the motor neuron excitability. Therefore, cryotherapy may be considered to improve the strength of the ankle joint muscles of stroke patients.

Clinical Results of Distal Femoral Osteotomy for Treatment of Grade 4 Medial Patella Luxation with Concurrent Distal Femoral Varus in Small Breeds Dogs: 13 Cases

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the outcome of distal femoral osteotomy for distal femoral varus and medial patellar luxation (MPL) grade 4 in small-breed dogs. Radiographs and medical records were reviewed to collect data and plan the surgery in small-breed dogs with MPL grade 4. Computed tomography (CT) imaging was also performed in cases of severe bone deformities. Signalment, weight, medial patellar luxation and lameness grade, radiographic bone union, complications, pre- and postoperative femoral varus angle, passive range of motion, static weight bearing distribution and visual analogue scale scores were recorded. Thirteen corrective distal femoral osteotomies were performed with ancillary and additional procedures in 9 dogs; 4 dogs had staged bilateral procedures; and four stifles were suspected to have partial or complete rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament. One stifle underwent patellar groove replacement. The mean ± SD pre- and postoperative femoral varus angles were 109.15°± 3.71° and 96.30°± 2.97°, respectively. Significant improvements in passive range of motion, thigh circumference and visual analogue scale (VAS) scores were observed. There was no reluxation of the patella. This study suggests that distal femoral osteotomy with traditional and additional procedures provided satisfactory outcomes in patient healing and functional recovery in small-breed dogs with excessive femoral varus angles.

한국형 소형전술 시제차량의 내구성능 평가 (Durability Analysis on the Prototype of a Korean Light Tactical Vehicle)

  • Since the demand for new military vehicle to fulfill the necessary conditions such as multi-purpose, high-mobility, and survivability has raised continuously from the army, the prototype of a Korean light tactical vehicle was developed to meet these requirements using our own technology. In particular, the new tactical vehicle was equipped with a double wishbone independent suspension to improve ride and handling and maximize off-road driving performance. In this paper, a comprehensive virtual durability process to evaluate the service life of the prototype is presented. A reliability of the trimmed body model based on CATIA data was verified by comparison result between mode analysis and modal test. The dynamic model was constructed using ADAMS/Car, and then the weight distribution and lateral slope driving performance of it were compared with the results of static weight and lateral slope tests. The validity of the VTL(Virtual Test Lab) was checked with test results from the 3-inch spaced impact road. The durability performances of trimmed body and suspension components were evaluated through MSM(Modal Superposition Method) fatigue analysis. It is shown that the virtual durability process could be a helpful tool to find out the weak areas and improve their structures in developing new military vehicle.
