PURPOSE: This study examined the effects of the low dye taping technique on the static and dynamic balancing ability and navicular bone drop when the low dye taping technique was divided into elastic and non-elastic taping. METHODS: The subjects of the study were 31 volunteers without musculoskeletal disorders. The length (L) and anterior (A), posteromedial, and posterolateral values of the arch in the NO (normal eyes open), NC (normal eyes closed), PO (pillow with eyes open), and PC (pillow with close eyes closed) states were evaluated when barefoot and when Kinesio tape and non-elastic tape were applied. The measurements were analyzed using repeated ANOVA and an independent t-test. Post hoc tests were performed using a Fisher's LSD. RESULTS: A significant difference was found in the arch L and A values using a foot scanner (p < .05). In addition, there was a significant difference in dynamic balance in the three directions (p < .05), and no difference was found in the case of static balance. As a result, non-elastic tape application helps improve the dynamic balance ability and arch of the foot. CONCLUSION: The non-elastic tape technique is helpful for the foot arch function, and there is no difference in the static balance ability between Kinesio tape and non-elastic tape. Nevertheless, non-elastic tape is more helpful for the dynamic balance ability than Kinesio taping.

Objectives: A fit test panel is needed to identify the fit performance of a respirator and its face seal. This is a criterion for selecting subjects that can represent the facial characteristics of users. Although anthropometry data has been developed for people in United States and China it is not yet present in Korea. This study aimed to develop a Korean fit test panel and test headform. Methods: For the 7th and 8th waves of the Size Korea anthropometry data, facial measurements of 11,429 people aged 15 to 69 years were used for analysis. PCA and bivariate panel were classified using the ISO16976-2:2022(E) anthropometrics analysis method. Based on this result, a static headform was developemed and a fit test chamber was constructed. Results: Of the 11,429 Korean people used for principal component analysis, 11,300 were included in the ellipse, marking an acceptance rate of 98.87% on PCA panel. The face types were classified into five types. Among them, a large, medium, and small static headform were printed using a 3D printer. In addition, 10,985 people (96.12%) were included in the bivariate panel based on face length and face width. The y-axis (face length) boundary was 97.87 to 134.59 mm, and the x-axis (face width) boundary was 120.75 to 158.23 mm. Conclusions: Compared to the ISO analysis, the Korean principal component was narrower in the width item (PC1) and longer in the length item (PC2). For the future, it is necessary to conduct a fit test using the developed headform and chamber device to confirm the usefulness of this Korean test panel. Therefore, this study is considered valuable as basic research for Korean test panels.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the lasting effects of the flossing band technique, dynamic and static stretching on hamstring on range of motion (ROM), muscle activity, and proprioception to identify the most effective pre-exercise method for preventing injuries. Methods: Thirty participants were randomly assigned to the flossing band (FB), dynamic stretching (DS), and static stretching (SS) groups, with 10 subjects in each. Measurements included muscle activity of the biceps femoris vis surface electromyography, knee ROM and proprioception during active knee extension and flexion using a smart joint goniometer. Assessments were conducted before, immediately after, 15, and 30 minutes after each intervention. Results: Proprioception showed no significant differences among groups at any time point. Significant differences in knee ROM were observed in the FB group (except between 15 and 30 minutes after), DS group (except between immediately after and 15 minutes after, and between 15 and 30 minutes after), and SS group (except between before and 15 minutes after, and between before and 30 minutes after). Muscle activity in the FB (except between before and 30 minutes after, and between 15 and 30 minutes after) and SS (between before and immediately after, between immediately after and 30 minutes after, and between 15 and 30 minutes after) groups showed significant differences, while the DS group exhibited no significant changes. Conclusion: Although direct comparisons did not establish superiority, within-group analyses indicated that the flossing band technique exhibited longer-lasting effects than dynamic and static stretching, providing valuable insights for injury prevention program design.
Obtaining the parameters for PID controllers based on limit cycle information for the process in a relay controlled feedback loop has become an accepted practical procedure. If the form of the plant transfer function is known, exact expressions for the limit cycle frequency and amplitude can be derived so that their measurements, assumed error free, can be used to calculate the true parameter value. In the literature, parameter estimation for an assumed form of the plant transfer function has generally been considered for disturbance free cases, except a recently published work of the author. In this paper additional simulation results are reported on exact parameter estimation from relay autotuning under static load disturbances.
In this paper, an Adaptive Nonlinear Constrained Model Predictive Control (ANCMPC) is presented for a pH control in a fed-batch bio-reactor. The pH model is represented with Hammerstein Model. The static nonlinear part of Hammerstein model is described with the static pH model, and the dynamic linear part of the Hammerstein model is described with the CARIMA model. The parameters of the CARIMA model is estimated on-line with the input and output measurements of the system using a recursive least squares type of identication algorithm. The eectiveness of the proposed controller is shown through simulations.
In this study, a simplified three-dimensional calculation model is developed for the dynamic analysis of soil-pile group-supertall building systems excited by wind loads using the substructure method. Wind loads acting on a 300-m building in different wind directions and terrain conditions are obtained from synchronous pressure measurements conducted in a wind tunnel. The effects of soil-structure interaction (SSI) on the first natural frequency, wind-induced static displacement, root mean square (RMS) of displacement, and RMS of acceleration at the top of supertall buildings are analyzed. The findings demonstrate that with decreasing soil shear wave velocity, the first natural frequency decreases and the static displacement, RMS of displacement and RMS of acceleration increase. In addition, as soil material damping decreases, the RMS of displacement and the RMS of acceleration increase.

We present a state-space approach to make non-square linear systems strictly passive by using an input-dimensional parallel feedforward compensator. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of the parallel feedforward compensator is given by the static output feedback formulation, which enables to utilize linear matrix inequality. By modifying the structure of the compensator the additional technical assumption in the previous result [1] is removed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated by some numerical examples which can be stabilized by the proportional-derivative (PD) and proportional-derivative-integral (PID) control laws. The proposed control scheme can successfully replace the measurements of derivative terms in the control laws.

Is this study, results of static pile load tests of in-situ cast piles in weak or uncemented sedimentary rock layers have been analyzed and presented. Consdierations on the characteristics of soils sedimentary rocks have been made. From the measurements of strain gauges and extensometers the relationship of unit skim friction versus displacement and that of unit end bearing versus displacement have been obatined to verity the characteristics of bearing capacity of this uncemented sedimentary rock layers. Also, a comparison has been made between ultimate skin friction in compression and tension.
This paper experimentally investigates the characteristics of dual coaxial jet issuing from inner supersonic nozzle and four kinds of outer converging nozzle of 40, 50, $60^{\circ}$ and $70^{\circ}$ in outer ejection angle. The pressure ratio of the stagnation to the exit ambient pressures in the inner supersonic nozzle of constant expansion rate is 7.5, which is corresponded to the condition of a slightly underexpanded, and that of outer nozzle is 4.0. Flow visualizations by using of shadowgraph method, impact pressure and centerline static pressure measurements are presented. It is found that the jet structure is changed significantly by the variation of outer nozzle ejection angle. Impact pressure level is lower and undulation of static pressure is higher, as the injection angle of outer jet increases.

A method for accurate measurement of the contact force in the current collection system of the high-speed railway is developed. In order to measure the contact force with minimal modifications to the pantograph, strain gauges are attached to the bottom of the contact strip. An algorithm for deriving the magnitude and stagger of the contact force from the bending strain measurements is devised. For the sample pantograph, the static contact forces are measured to within ${\pm}$5 % error for the magnitude and ${\pm}$ 2cm error for the stagger. For dynamic contact force measurement, it is found that the contact strip can the regarded as a rigid body for the contact frequency of less than 15 ㎐.
