  • The carcinogens 2-arnioo-3-methylimidazo[4,5-f]quinoline (IQ) and 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH) induce colon tumors in the Fisher 344 rat that contain mutations in Ctnnb1, the gene for b-catenin, but the pattern of mutation differs from that found in human colon cancers. in both species, mutations affect the glycogen synthase kinase 3$\beta$ (GSK-3$\beta$) consensus region of $\beta$-catenin, but whereas they directly substitute critical Ser/Thr phosphorylation sites in human colon cancers, the majority of mutations cluster around Ser$^{33}$ in the rat tumors.(omitted)

  • We propose a decentralized $H_{\infty}$ state estimation method in the multisensor state estimation problem. The proposed method bounds the maximum energy gain from unknown external disturbances to the estimation errors in the suboptimal case. And we formulate the decentralized state estimation method in the general case of different global and local models using alternative gain equation of the $H_{\infty}$ state estimator which can calculate global state estimates from the the linear combination of local state estimates. In addition, the proposed update equation between global and local Riccati solutions can reduce unnecessary calculation burden efficiently.

  • To minimize the variance in the quantification of solid-state phases in powder samples, gently placing polycrystalline samples one next to another directly in a sample holder is better than trying to mix them homogeneously prior to transferring to a sample holder. However, the solid-state cross polarization-magic angle spinning (CP-MAS) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy results demonstrated that it is essential in this sampling method to place all the samples in the location of consistent signal sensitivity. The same sampling method may be employed in other spectroscopic quantification techniques of solid-state phases if the method to limit the sample to the location with uniform signal sensitivity in the sample holder is adapted to each technique.

  • The electrical conductivity was investigated in two series of alkali aluminosilicate glass melts, $25R_2O(R: Na and K)-xAl2O3-(75-x)SiO_2$ at temperatures ranging from 1000 to 140$0^{\circ}C$. The dependences of conductivity or activation energy on $Al_2O_3/R_2O$ of both series in the molten state showed a same behavior. These results in the molten state were compared with previous studies for sodium alkali aluminosilicate glasses in the molten and solid state, and explained in terms of the binding state: $[-O]-R^+\; and\; [AlO_4]-R^+$.

  • This paper presents a method of hierarchical state estimation of the time-varying linear systems via Block-pulse function(BPF). When we estimate the state of the systems where noise is considered, it is very difficult to obtain the solutions because minimum error variance matrix having a form of matrix nonlinear differential equations is included in the filter gain calculation. Therefore, hierarchical approach is adapted to transpose matrix nonlinear differential equations to a sum of low order state space equation from and Block-pulse functions are used for solving each low order state space equation in the form of simple and recursive algebraic equation. We believe that presented methods are very attractive nd proper for state estimation of time-varying linear systems on account of its simplicity and computational convenience. • When isolated phenol or a small phenol-solvent cluster is excited to the $S_1\;state\;of\;{\pi}{\pi}^*$ character, the hydrogen atom of the hydroxyl group dissociates via a ${\pi}{\sigma}^*$ state that is repulsive along the O-H bond. We computationally investigated the substitution effects of an amino group on the excited state hydrogen transfer reaction of phenol. The time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) with B3LYP functional was employed to calculate the potential energy profiles of the ${\pi}{\pi}^*$ and the ${\pi}{\sigma}^*$ excited states along the O-H coordinate, together with the orbital shape at each point, as the position of the substituent was varied. It was found that the amino substitution has an effect of lowering the ${\pi}{\sigma}^*$ state and enhancing the excited state hydrogen transfer reaction.

  • Routers determine routing path considering network topology and link state information for providing QoS (quality of service) guarantee. Therefore, it is important that routers know link state information to calculate routing path. However, if routers generate link state update messages inordinately, their router performance are reduced due to the process of link state update messages. On the other side, in case that link state information is not updated appropriately, route setup requests can be rejected even though there exist routes. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to improve router performance and evaluate the proposed algorithm performance compare with conventional algorithm by simulations.
