Interacting Mobile Robots for Tele-Operation System Using the Internet

  • This paper discusses the interacting mobile robots for tele-operation system using the world wide web. In multi-agent and web-based teleoperation environment the problem of communication delay must be solved for the efficient and robust control of the system. The standard graphic user interface(GUI)is implemented using Java Programing language. The web browser is used to integrate the virtual environment and the standard GUI(Java applet) in a single user interface. Users can access a dedicated WWWserver and download the user interface. Reinforcement learning is applied to indirect control in order to autonomously operate without the need of human intervention. Design of Self-Timed Standard Library and Interface Circuit

  • We designed a self-timed interface circuit for efficient communication in IP (Intellectual Property)-based system with high-speed self-timed FIFO and a set of self-timed event logic library with 0.25um CMOS technology. Optimized self-timed standard cell layouts and Verilog models are generated for top-down design methodology. A method for mitigating a design bottleneck when it comes to tolerate clock skew is described. With clock control method and FIFO, we implemented high-speed 32bit-interface chip for self-timed system, which generated maximum system clock is 2.2GHz. The size of the core is about 1.1mm x 1.1mm.

  • MPEG-7의 Standard Description을 위한 여러 가지 요소에 대한 정의가 여러 연구에서 약간의 차이를 주고 있지만 전체적인 방향은 형성되어 지고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 그 요소들에서 지능형 멀티미디어 탐색엔진에서 high level linguistic query를 처리할 수 있는 fuzzy interenced database 기능을 MPEG-7과 연계할 수 있는가를 연구하였다.

Analyzing User Satisfaction of the Standard Records Management System (표준 기록관리시스템에 대한 사용자 만족도 분석)

  • It is necessary to diagnose the standard record management system when the system is being spread out to entire public organization and institutions. This study aims to analyze the standard record management system for improving system and revising the related standards in the future. This study evaluates the satisfaction on the interface and functional quality of the system through questionnaire survey on records managers. It is found that the satisfaction of functional quality is just above the line, but the interface fails to satisfy records managers. Also the reliability of the system appears to be higher satisfaction than efficiency and usability. Therefore, the study suggests that the standard records management systems should try to improve 'easy of use' and effectiveness and efficiency by implementing heavy batch job and promoting modulation of key function. And the study emphasizes that the standards will be revised with the long-term plan in order to develop standard records management system systematically and continuously.

  • UPnP Bridge supporting diverse network interface has to meet standard requirements in order to be connected with legacy devices. It is able to provide or bridge a service description and device description according to a specification because IEEE1394 and USB have this standard requirements. But it is difficult to know whether it RS232C supports only serial communication and packet transfer. It need a document for the standard definition of communication protocol on UPnP device having such interface. By doing so, this document can understand device and packet type. This paper defines MFD(Message Field Description) and makes UPnP message converter. So it will be base to standardize supporting variable legacy device.

  • Recently, with the development of collecting methods of spatial data, the spatial data is produced, circulated, and used in various fields of industry and research. To manage the mass spatial data efficiently, the researches on extension of the existing commercial DBMS, such as ESRI's ArcSDE or Oracle's Oracle Spatial, is making progress actively. However, the usage of the extension of the commercial DBMS Incurs an additional expense and causes an interoperability problem due to differences in spatial data types and spatial operators. Therefore, in this paper, we developed an OpenGIS Spatial Interface for Oracle, which supports a standard interface by fellowing the "Simple Features Specification for SQL" proposed by OGC(Open Geospatial Consortium). Since the OpenGIS Spatial Interface provides all spatial data types and spatial operators proposed in "Simple Features Specification for SQL", users can manage mass spatial data of Oracle efficiently by using the standard interface without additional expense. In addition, we proved that the OpenGIS Spatial Interface is superior to the Oracle Spatial in the response time through the performance evaluation.

  • It develops in the development efforts about the terminal software platform while the telematics service is activated. Domestically, a standard is developed around the Korea Telematics Standardization Forum. And it is taken in reviews for the WIPI which is supporting the telematics. Internationally, it develops standards for the vehicle based platform in the standardization organizations like OSGi and GST. Under this background, this paper tries to propose the terminal software platform standard in which the vehicle information based telematics service can be taken. For this, firstly domestic and international telematics standard conditions are looked into around the terminal software platform. The terminal software platform standard proposed in this paper is illustrated in the architecture, the required function and the interface side.

  • This study focuses on the physical environment and human activity of the user of train toilets, on the analysis of factors needed to obtain reasonable toilet design and it also focuses on the understanding of the interface between its user. Moreover it proposes a module of the development process and methods of approaching the User Toilet Interface. The study so presents a design standard under which the concrete data of the characteristics and practicable range and the convergent demands accelerate to the module could be confirmed and criticized.

  • Fieldbus is a low level serial digital network which will be used for factory automation. This paper describes lower layer implementation of a Fieldbus network interface. Physical layer provides hardware interface between IBM-PC and Fieldbus. Also, physical layer uses manchester coding, shielded twisted pair lines and RS-485 electrical standard. Data link layer includes Intel's iDCX96 real time executive for 8797 one chip microcontroller and Fieldbus data link protocol software.

  • The implementation of MAP(Manufacturing Automation Protocol) NIU(network interface uint) is studied and presented in this paper. Hardwares and system softwares for network management, user interface, and medium access control are developed. Also LLC(Logical Link Control) protocol is implemented. Afterwards, The operations of NIU using self-test functions are tested. Compatibility between interfaces according to IEEE 802.4 standard is also tested.
