  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to standardize the process code of the work environment measurement database (WEMD) for the construction of a job-exposure matrix (JEM). Methods: The standard process code (SPC) was reclassified based on process similarity and drawing upon the code used in the existing K2B. It was supplemented through review by industrial hygiene experts. In addition, an index word database related to SPC was created and used for SPC search. A pilot evaluation project was conducted by experts to evaluate the validity of the newly reclassified standard process code. Results: A total of 70 final SPCs were developed, including 31 processes related to the construction industry. Using the Shiny program, we developed a standard code finder that can be used on the web (https://kscf.shinyapps.io/scf_app/). As a result of the pilot evaluation, it was determined that it was easier to search for standard codes than previous codes, so it was highly utilized. Conclusions: It is expected that JEM construction using industry-process information drawing on WEMD data will be possible using the 70 newly standardized process codes.

  • Low Density Parity Check codes(LDPC) are recently focused on communication systems due to its good performance. The standard of WiBro has also included LDPC codes as a channel coding. The weak point of implementation for LDPC encoder is that conventional binary Matrix Vector Multiplier has many clock cycles which limit throughput. In this paper, we propose semi-parallel architecture by using cyclic shift registers and exclusive-OR without conventional Matrix Vector Multipliers over the standard parity check matrices with Circulant Permutation Matrices(CPM). Furthermore, multi-rate encoder is designed by using proposed architecture. Our encoder with multi-rate for IEEE 802.16e LDPC has lower clock cycles and higher throughput.

  • This research aims to assess the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) residential buildings when moment-resisting frames (MRFs) are used as the lateral resisting system. This investigation was conducted using MIDAS Gen v.19.0. Buildings with various plan footprints (Square, Rectangular, Circular, Triangular, and Plus-Shaped), and different heights (15 m, 30 m, 45 m, and 60 m) are investigated. The defined load cases, the equivalent static lateral load pattern, and the response spectrum function were defined as stated by the American Standard (ASCE 7-16), the 1997 Uniform Building Code (UBC97), the Egyptian Code for Loads (ECP-201), and the European Standard (EC8). Extensive comparisons of the results obtained by the different codes (including the story displacement, the story drift, and the base shear) were undertaken; to assess the response of moment-resisting multi-story framed buildings under lateral loads. The results revealed that, for all study cases under consideration, both ECP-201 and EC8 gave smaller base shear, displacement, and drift by one third to one fourth, around one fourth, around one fifth, respectively for both the ELF and RSA methods if compared to ASCE 7-16 and UBC97.

  • The purpose of this paper is to find a description of the cyclic codes of length $2^n$ over $\mathbb{Z}_4$. We show that any ideal of $\mathbb{Z}_4$[X]/($X^{2n}$ - 1) is generated by at most two polynomials of the standard forms. We also find an explicit description of their duals in terms of the generators.

  • In [8], we showed that any ideal of $\mathbb{Z}_4[X]/(X^{2^n}-1)$ is generated by at most two polynomials of the standard forms. The purpose of this paper is to find a description of the cyclic codes of even length over $\mathbb{Z}_4$ namely the ideals of $\mathbb{Z}_4[X]/(X^l\;-\;1)$, where $l$ is an even integer.

  • Explosions of dangerous goods such as accidents at Iri and Yongcheon Stations bring about a big damage and loss of assets. And leakage of toxic and dangerous materials may cause environmental pollution. Therefore, in developed countries, safety and operation codes for the carriage of dangerous goods were already established. In this study. we have searched. analyzed and summarized korean domestic codes concerning the carriage of dangerous goods for the drawing up of a korean safety standard code.

  • PURPOSE: The present study was conducted to improve the understanding of the Korean Standard Functional, Disability, and Health Classification (KCF) and its ease of use in the clinical domain of the musculoskeletal system by comparing, analyzing, and linking the KCF codes with items from patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), which are currently mainly used to evaluate patients with neck, shoulder, waist, and knee pain. METHODS: The items of the most widely used PROMs, the Neck Disability Index (NDI), Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) scores, Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), and the codes of the KCF were linked by two experts according to the linking rules. RESULTS: The concordance between the items of each of the PROMs and the KCF code linked by the two experts was NDI,86.4%86.4%, DASH 83.3%, ODI 92.0%, and WOMAC 80.7%. The NDI, DASH, and WOMAC indexes were found to comprise items corresponding to physical function, activity, and participation areas, and were linked to 22, 43, and 31 KCF codes, respectively. In addition to these two areas, the ODI included items related to environmental factors and was linked to 25 codes (duplicated codes are treated as one). CONCLUSION: This research can be used by adding the KCF code to the questions of the currently used evaluation tool. This coding can be easily applied and will contribute to the easy understanding of the KCF.

  • The OFDMA Physical layer in the WiMAX standard of IEEE 802.16e adopts 114 LDPC codes with various code rates and block sizes as a channel coding scheme to meet varying channel environments and different requirements for transmission performance. In this paper, the performances of the LDPC codes are evaluated according to various code rates and block-lengths throueh simulation studies using min-sum decoding algorithm in AWGN chamois. As the block-length increases and the code rate decreases, the BER performance improves. In the cases with code rates of 2/3 and 3/4, where two different codes ate specified for each code rate, the codes with code rates of 2/3A and 3/4B outperform those of 2/3B and 3/4A, respectively. Through the statistical analyses of the number of decoding iterations the decoding complexity and the word error rates of LDPC codes are estimated. The results can be used to trade-off between the performance and the complexity in designs of LDPC decoders.

  • This paper addresses issues encountered in using the ISO and national standard codes to assess the hazards of whole-body vibration and repeat shocks. Their assessment methods are given in ISO 2631-1 (1974, 1985, 1997) and BS 6841 (1987) that are now available to us. Two standard codes can yield unfortunately different assessment results even for a single measured vibration signal. Possible reasons for such different results are pointed out and, furthermore, related questions that should be re-examined in the future are raised in this paper.
