In this paper, The SSPA(Solid State Power Amplifier) is 100 watts amplifier which is used with C-Band Satellite communication Up-Link frequency, 5.875 ∼6.425 GHz. SSPA requires more output power than is available from a single GaAs FET with result it is necessary to combine the output of many device. To achieve a high power, it is important to make a good N-way power divider which has a small different phase, good combining efficiency and high power handling capability. The reliability of Power GaAs FET decrease with increasing junction temperature, power amplifier in general dissipate amount of power. It is important to provide them with a heatsink and a temperature compensation circuit to dispose of the unwanted heat. To compensate temperature, Using PIN diode attenuator, it is enable to get a precision gain control. The output power of the SSPA is more than 100 watt with which the TWTA (Traveling-Wave Tube Amplifier) can be replaced. Each stage was measured by the Network analyzer PH8510C, Power meter Booton 42BD, The gain is more than 53 dB, flatness is less than 1.5 dB.
The important problems that arise in the design and performance of the axial flow turbine are the prediction and control of secondary flows. Some progresses have been made on understanding flow conditions that occur when the inlet endwall boundary layer separates at the point in the endwall and rolls up into the horseshoe vortex. And the flows though an axial turbine tend to be extremely complex due to its inherent unsteady and viscous phenomena. The passing wakes generated from the trailing edge of the stator make an interaction with the rotor. Unsteady flow should be considered rotor/stator interactions. The main purpose of this research is control of secondary flow and improvement efficiency in turbine by leading edge modification in unsteady state. When the wake from the stator ran into the modified leading edge of the rotor, the leading edge generated the weak pressure fluctuation by complex passage flows. In conclusion, leading edge modification(bulb2) results in the reduced total pressure loss in the flow field.
We are developing empirical space weather (solar flare, solar proton event, and geomagnetic storm) forecast models based on solar data. In this talk we will review our main results and recent progress. First, we have examined solar flare (R) occurrence probability depending on sunspot McIntosh classification, its area, and its area change. We find that sunspot area and its increase (a proxy of flux emergence) greatly enhance solar flare occurrence rates for several sunspot classes. Second, a solar proton event (S) forecast model depending on flare parameters (flare strength, duration, and longitude) as well as CME parameters (speed and angular width) has been developed. We find that solar proton event probability strongly depends on these parameters and CME speed is well correlated with solar proton flux for disk events. Third, we have developed an empirical storm (G) forecast model to predict probability and strength of a storm using halo CME - Dst storm data. For this we use storm probability maps depending on CME parameters such as speed, location, and earthward direction. We are also looking for geoeffective CME parameters such as cone model parameters and magnetic field orientation. We find that all superstorms (less than -200 nT) occurred in the western hemisphere with southward field orientations. We have a plan to set up a storm forecast method with a three-stage approach, which will make a prediction within four hours after the solar coronagraph data become available. We expect that this study will enable us to forecast the onset and strength of a geomagnetic storm a few days in advance using only CME parameters and the WSA-ENLIL model. Finally, we discuss several ongoing works for space weather applications.
I have treated one ischemic stroke patient in acute stage with Seonghyangjeonggi-san, and observed remarkable reduction of the size ischemic portion in brain CT, notable improved motor power of patient. So I report this case of stroke patint. The ischemic penumbra, simply stated, is the part of the brain that is sandwiched brain regions committed to die and those that receive enough blood to communicate. Therefore, it is ischemic brain tissue that has just enough to communicte and function. The life expectancy of the penumbrais short. Although the penumbra is an elegant concept, in practice, it has been a difficult one to exploit. Up to now, a lot of research worker have tried to develop the method to make a accurate diagnosis. and then we know that PET and Xenon CT is available for the diagnosis for the ischemic penumbra. But those are not perfect to diagnose of penumbra. The case in my case report was confirmed as ischemic penumbra with CT. I know that CT is not prefect to diagnose penumbra, but I just want to raise the interest in penumbra of oriental medicine researcher and my report will be benificial to the penumbra researcher.
This study deals with the truing of diamond wheel fur the manufacture of micro v-shaped grooves with fine sharp edges in the grinding. Fine micro v-shaped grooves are key components to fabricate LGP(light guide plate), optical fiber connector and so on. Conventional v-shaped groove methods such as etching and lithography are difficult to make grooves with accuracy and cutting by lathe is difficult to select target materials. Therefore, as a preliminary stage to developing the grinding technology that will be expected fabrications for micro 3-dimensional structure of high effectivity and accuracy and freed up the restrictions of machinability to the materials for micro v-shaped grooves, truing is carried out with resin bond diamond wheel and electroforming diamond wheel using a cup-type truer. From the experimental results, it is found that the effects according to working direction of the cup-type truer and the restrainable methods of plastic deformation that is generated at wheel edge are examined. As a result, fine micro v-shaped diamond wheel was obtained, which are applicable to micro grinding for optical devices.
This paper consists of two parts: the first part discusses general problems of microforms as transmission and storage media of research information, especially in view of user's reactions to this unconventional media. Many articles and surveys from major American library journals and other professional publications have been mentioned and reviewed to find out the common issues which could be relevent to Korean case. The latter part is the analysis of the two sets of surveys. One was done from 5 research libraries in Seoul and the other, from 150 researchers who were the users of the libraries. The major findings are: The research libraries in Korea are in the infant stage of building their microform research collection. They are doing their special effort to level up the weaknesss of the collection. Presently, general level of usage is very low, although the users showed a positive attitude toward this unaccustomed media. They are well convinced with necessity of use of microforms in their research and they have correct ideas about some of the problems they are going to face along with the eventual heavier use of the materials. They are psychologically ready to accept them and to make a good use out of them if some of the external conditions for proper use of the material would be guaranteed.

To make more beautiful and exciting scenery of a city, the design of private buildings has to be controlled in a way to improve the public amenity by the proper design of buildings ensuring views to natural assets in the city. And it is important to provide an urban landscape solution, while solving the afflictions of architects between their dream in individual architecture and the significances of Urban landcape as a whole. This research is based on the survey of the experts and public officers in the field of Urban landcape planning and administration in Gwang-ju City and Chonnam Province in Korea. The search reveals the following fact. Comparing the fact that some of foreign countries have proper systems of planning, regulations, guidelines, and design awards for the improvement of Urban landcape long time ago, the systems of Urban landcape planning and related administration in Korea is still in a primitive stage, due to the lack of the consideration of local characteristics and resources, variety of solutions, and setting of goals and objectives. Consequently, public enlightening of the importance of Urban landcape and the development of relevant contents in Urban landcape planning and administration are mostly required, to build up the system that can allow people to live in beautiful and good scenery of a city.
A baffle system for an airglow photometer, which will be on board the Korea Sounding Rocket-III(KSR-III), has been designed to suppress strong solar scattered lights from the atmosphere below the earth limb. Basic principles for designing a baffle system, such as determination of baffle dimensions, arrangement of vanes inside a baffle tube, and coating of surfaces, have been reviewed from the literature. By considering the constraints of the payload size of the KSR-III and the incident angle of solar light scattered from the earth limb, we first determined dimensions of a two-stage baffle tube for the airglow photometer. We then calculated positions and heights of vanes to prohibit diffusely reflected lights inside the baffle tube from entering into the photometer. In order to evaluate performance of the designed baffle system, we have developed a ray tracing program using a Monte Carlo method. The program computed attenuation factors of the baffle system on the order of $10^{-6}$ for angles larger than $10^{\circ}$, which satisfies the requirements of the KSR-III airglow experiment. We have also measured the attenuation factors for an engineering model of the baffle system with a simple collimating beam apparatus, and confirmed the attenuation factors up to about $10^{-4}$. Limitation of the apparatus does not allow to make more accurate measurements of the attenuation factors.
The fishing industry of Korea is now i a critical transitional stage. That is, broadly speaking, there are two dominant factors that constrain the further development of Korea fishey and effective competition in the international fishing industry. First of all, the global fishing industry has experienced many significant changes due to the execution of U.N, maritime law, the establishment of EEZ(the Exclusive Economic Zones), the increased roles of WTO(the World Trade Organization) as well as Korea being a member of OECD(the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development). Second, the fishing industry of Korea is faced with the following domestic troubles, such as the icreasing fishing expenses, insufficient labor supply, and the collapse of traditional local co-operative organizations of fishing villages, etc. However, the demand for aquatic products of home consumers not only continues to increase but also is shifting to select more valuable species, completely ignoring the above-mentioned serious pressures incurred by the Korean fishery. To solve these problems and keep developing steadily, it is necessary for the fishing industry of Korea to adopt a more active and flexible development pattern in order to reset up the regional economic base in fishing villages nation-wide and make the exploitation of fishing resources balance. The paper gives an reconsideration to the primary alternatives facing the Korean fishery and its prospective roles in a realistic and far-sighted attitude. It may serve as an endeavour in seeking an outlet for the fishing industry of korea to advance forwardly and lastingly.
