다단계 피로하중 실험을 통한 균열 발생 및 전파단계에서 파괴모드 II 영향 분석 (Effects of Failure Mode II on Crack Initiation and Crack propagation Steps Using Multilevel Fatigue Loading Test)

  • 본 연구는 균열 발생 및 전파단계에서 하중모드 II의 영향을 평가하기 위해 피로균열 하한계 영역의 혼합모드 I+II 하중을 통해 실험적으로 평가하였다. 균열 발생단계(Stage I)에서는 혼합모드상태에서 하중작용 각도(${\theta}$)가 증가할수록 모드 II 영향으로 인하여 낮은 하중에서 균열이 발생하고, 균열 전파단계 (Stage II)에서는 균열전파 속도는 감소하였다. 다단계 하중작용 각도변화에 따른 하중모드 II영향은 균열전파단계 실험을 통해 평가하였다. 혼합모드 I+II 하중 작용 시 작용각도 ($0^{\circ}{\rightarrow}{\theta}{\rightarrow}60^{\circ}$) 증가에 따라 피로균열전파속도는 감소하였으며 늦게 발생한 균열에서도 마찬가지로 감소하였다. 작용각도가 ${\theta}{\geq}75^{\circ}$ 범위에서는 하중작용각도 증가에 따라 피로균열전파속도가 증가하고 피로수명이 감소하는 것을 확인하였다.

Design and Prediction of Three Dimensional Flows in a Low Speed Highly Loaded Axial Flow Fan

  • This paper describes the design to increase the blade loading factor of a low speed axial flow fan from normal 0.42 to highly loaded 0.55. A three-dimensional viscous solver is used to model the flows in the highly-loaded and normal loaded stages over its operation range. At the design point operation the static pressure rise can be increased by 20 percent with a deficit of efficiency by 0.3 percent. In the highly loaded fan stage, the rotor hub flow stalls, and separation vortex extends over the rotor hub region. The backflow, which occurs along the stator hub-suction surface, changes the exit flow from the prescribed axial direction. Results in this paper confirm that the limitation of the two dimensional diffusion does not affect primarily on the fan's performance. Highly loaded fan may have actually better performance than its two dimensional design. Three dimensional designing approaches may lead to better highly loaded fan with controlled rotor hub stall.

Post-earthquake capacity evaluation of R/C buildings based on pseudo-dynamic tests

  • In this paper, post-earthquake capacity evaluation method of reinforced concrete buildings was studied. Substructure pseudo-dynamic test and static loading test of first story column in a four-story R/C building was carried out in order to investigate the validity of the evaluation method proposed in the Damage Assessment Guideline (JBDPA 2001). In pseudo-dynamic test, different levels of damage were induced in the specimens by pre-loading, and input levels of seismic motion, at which the specimens reached to the ultimate stage, were examined. From the experimental result, no significant difference in damage levels such as residual crack width between the specimens under static and pseudo-dynamic loading was found. It is shown that the seismic capacity reduction factors ${\eta}$ can provide a reasonable estimation of post-earthquake seismic capacity of R/C buildings suffered earthquakes.

비대칭 고층건물의 내풍 및 제진 해석 (Control of Asymmetrical Tall Buildings under Wind Loading)

  • 고층건물의 설계에 있어서 지진보다 바람에 의한 영향이 더욱 크므로 바람에 의한 건물의 안전성과 거주성등을 검토하는 것이 중요하다. 이러한 내풍해석은 모형 실험을 통하여 그 결과를 예측할 수 있으나 본 연구에서는 수치해석의 모형 개발에 중점을 두어 변동 풍하중의 3차원 모델과 건물 평면의 비대칭성을 고려하여 동조질량감쇠기를 설치하였을 때의 건물의 진동 성능을 분석하고 있다. 건물의 질량과 강성중심이 일치하지 않아 횡변위와 비틀림이 연계되는 102층의 건물을 예로 들어 내풍해석 및 동조질량감쇠기를 설치하였을 때 진동제어 해석을 수행하여 건물의 변위와 가속도의 평균응답을 구하여 결과를 비교하였다.

  • Power supply technique for electrodeless lamps, especially Endura of Osram, is presented in this paper. The power supply uses a conventional power factor correction technique due to its proved performance. But in the inverter stage, resonant converter with parallel loading scheme is used to mitigate the variation of matching circuit characteristics by time varying load. Less performance but sufficient to predict future success compared to Osram's one is verified as a result of experiment of the prototype.

  • Power supply technique for electrodeless lamps is presented in this paper. The power supply uses a conventional power factor correction technique due to its proved performance. But in the inverter stage, resonant converter with parallel loading scheme is used to mitigate the variation of matching circuit characteristics by time varying load. Experiment and performance comparison for both Endura md QL are performed and further study to commercialization are discussed.

  • The mesh-insensitive structural stress procedure by Dong is modified to apply to the welded joints with local thickness variation and inignorable shear/normal stresses along local discontinuity surface. In order to make use of the structural stress based K solution for fatigue correlation of welded joints, a proper crack growth model needs to be developed. There exist some significant discrepancies in inferring the slope or crack growth exponent in the conventional Paris law regime. Two-stage crack growth model was not considered since its applications are focused upon the fatigue behavior in welded joints in which the load ratio effects are considered negligible. In this paper, a two-stage crack growth law considering high mean loading is proposed and proven to be effective in unifying the so-called anomalous short crack growth data.

Topology and geometry optimization of different types of domes using ECBO

  • Domes are architectural and elegant structures which cover a vast area with no interrupting columns in the middle, and with suitable shapes can be also economical. Domes are built in a wide variety of forms and specialized terms are available to describe them. According to their form, domes are given special names such as network, lamella, Schwedler, ribbed, and geodesic domes. In this paper, an optimum topology design algorithm is performed using the enhanced colliding bodies optimization (ECBO) method. The network, lamella, ribbed and Schwedler domes are studied to determine the optimum number of rings, the optimum height of crown and tubular sections of these domes. The minimum volume of each dome is taken as the objective function. A simple procedure is defined to determine the dome structures configurations. This procedure includes calculating the joint coordinates and element constructions. The design constraints are implemented according to the provision of LRFD-AISC (Load and Resistance Factor Design-American Institute of Steel Constitution). The wind loading act on domes according to ASCE 7-05 (American Society of Civil Engineers). This paper will explore the efficiency of various type of domes and compare them at the first stage to investigate the performance of these domes under different kind of loading. At the second stage the wind load on optimum design of domes are investigated for Schwedler dome. Optimization process is performed via ECBO algorithm to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the ECBO in creating optimal design for domes.

말기 암 환자를 간호하는 간호사의 고통경험 척도개발 (Development of A Nurse는s Suffering Experience Scale)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop Nurse's Suffering Experience Scale and to test the reliability and validity of the instrument. Method: The subjects used to verify the scale's reliability and validity were 220 nurses who were taking care of the end stage cancer patients, while working at university and general hospitals in Daegu and Kyungbuk province from April 20. to July 10, 2001. The data was analyzed by the SPSS/WIN 8.0 program. Results: A factor analysis was conducted, and items that had a factor loading more than .40, and an eigen value more than 1.0. were selected. The factor analysis classified a total of seven factors statistically, and it's communality was 44%. The explanation of factors based on the conceptual framework and item content are as follows: The first factor was expanding self consciousness, the second factor was forming empathy with family, the third factor was professional challenge, the fourth factor was change of values, the fifth factor was spiritual sublimation, the sixth factor was helplessness, and finally the seventh factor was rejection to death. Cronbach's coefficient to test reliability of the scale was .8665 for total of 44 items. The Scale for Nurse's Suffering Experience developed in the study was identified as a tool with a high degree of reliability and validity. Therefore this scale can be effectively utilized for the evaluation of the degree of nurse's suffering experience in clinical settings.

Inconel 718 의 고온 다축피로하중 하에서의 라체팅 거동 (Multiaxial ratcheting behavior of Inconel 718 at elevated temperature)

  • Ratcheting behavior of IN 718 was investigated at $649^{\circ}C$ under various proportional and non-proportional loading conditions with stress control. The material response was initially elastic but substantial plastic strain was developed as the material softened cyclically. Ratcheting strain was measured to near fatigue life, and is found to have three stages of development - primary, secondary (steady-state) and tertiary. The secondary stage dominates for most cases. Under the same equivalent stress amplitude and mean stress, it was revealed that circular path loading gives higher ratcheting rates and shorter lives than linear paths and that the more ratcheting occurs when the cyclic load is in the same direction as the mean stress. The ratcheting strain at failure depends not only on its rate but also on fatigue life itself, and it is not a primary life-determining factor.
