  • The performance of anti-collision algorithm in RFID systems, which are based on FSA algorithm, may be affected by the frame size a query round. In this paper, an anti-collision algorithm with early cancellation of query round is proposed to enhance the performance of EPCglobal Class-1 Gen-2. The Q-algorithm calculates a Q value to determine the next frame size during a query round. In the proposed algorithm, if the new Q value is different from the previous one, the reader transmits a QueryAdjust command to cancel the current query round. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can have a stable performance irrespective of the C value of Q-algorithm and the number of tags.

  • In order to improve the efficiency of a transformer cooling system, the intelligent algorithm was developed. The intelligent algorithm is composed of a setpoint algorithm and a control algorithm. The setpoint algorithm was developed by the neural network, and the control algorithm was developed by the fuzzy logic. These algorithms were used for the control of a blower and an oil pump of the transformer cooling system. In order to analyse performances of these algorithms, the dynamic model of a transformer cooling system was used. Based on various performance tests, energy savings and stable controls of a transformer cooling system were observed. Therefore, control algorithms developed for this study may be effectively used for the control of a transformer cooling system.

  • In this paper, we propose Ant-Q learning Algorithm[1], which uses the habits of biological ants, to find a new way to solve Stable Marriage Problem(SMP)[3] presented by Gale-Shapley[2]. The issue of SMP is to find optimum matching for a stable marriage based on their preference lists (PL). The problem of Gale-Shapley algorithm is to get a stable matching for only male (or female). We propose other way to satisfy various requirements for SMP. ACS(Ant colony system) is an swarm intelligence method to find optimal solution by using phermone of ants. We try to improve ACS technique by adding Q learning[9] concept. This Ant-Q method can solve SMP problem for various requirements. The experiment results shows the proposed method is good for the problem.

  • We propose UPGMA(Unweighted Pair Group Method using Average distance) as hierarchical clustering to detect abrupt shot changes using multiple features such as pixel-by-pixel difference, global and local histogram difference. Conventional $\kappa$-means algorithm which is a method of the partitional clustering, has to select an efficient initial cluster center adaptively UPGMA that we propose, does not need initial cluster center because of agglomerative algorithm that it starts from each sample for clusters. And UPGMA results in stable performance. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm works not only well but also stably.

  • A walking robot must have the ability to change the body direction in order to avoid the obstacles. In this paper, we develop a gait control algorithm that can maintain the stable movement of the robot for three different modes of changing directions. The algorithm makes it possible for the robot to have the larger gait stability margin than the threshold value by the method of changing the body speed.

  • Pneumatic control system has been used mainly for endpoint position control because of the compressibility, viscosity and low output stiffness of air which causes nonlinear flow characteristics. In this paper, pneumatic position control algorithms using fuzzy rule were developed to achieve faster and more stable response than conventional PI control algorithm. The performances of the proposed algorithms were compared by computer simulations with them of PI controller. From those simulations it was shown that the proposed algorithms are more efficient about settling time, steady state error and overshoot than PI control algorithm.

  • The error differential equations which are derived by using the first error model are uniformly asymptotial stable if the input is bounded and sufficiently rich. In the adaptive control, the speed of convergence of system output or parameter error in such cases is of both practical and theoretical interest. In this paper, the adaptive algorithms(Gradient algorithm, Intergral algorithm) are discussed from the point of view of speed convergence and the modification of adaptive law for prohibition of overadaptation is discussed. The result is compared among this algorithms and the adaptive gain is choosed by this result(the speed of convergence).

  • This paper describes a three dimensional motion recognition algorithm and a system which adopts the algorithm for non-contact human-computer interaction. From sequence of stereos images, five feature regions are extracted with simple color segmentation algorithm and then those are used for three dimensional locus calculation precess. However, the result is not so stable, noisy, that we introduce principal component analysis method to get more robust motion recognition results. This method can overcome the weakness of conventional algorithms since it directly uses three dimensional information motion recognition.

  • The mobile robot, named as KAEROT, is designed to go up and down stairs in nuclear facilities. To get a proper stable motion, kinematic modeling and analysis are seriously considered and new climbing algorithm is proposed focused on the stability. A couple of small wheels of one planetary wheel have to contact the surface ol stairs all the time to give the guarantee for stability and safety. To confirm the validity of the proposed algorithm, simulation is carried out. The results make evident of feasibility for the algorithm.

  • Using the constructive algorithm proposed by Brayton and Tong, we analyze the stability of a modified coupled-form digital filter with quantization and overflow nonlinearities, and find the regions in the parameter plane where the filter is globally asymptotically stable. In these regions, the absence of zero-input limit cycles is ensured. This constructive algorithm gives less conservative stability results than the application of Jury-Lee stability criterion does.
