A New Formulation of Multichannel Blind Deconvolution: Its Properties and Modifications for Speech Separation

  • A new normalized MBD algorithm is presented for nonstationary convolutive mixtures and its properties/modifications are discussed in details. The proposed algorithm normalizes the signal spectrum in the frequency domain to provide faster stable convergence and improved separation without whitening effect. Modifications such as nonholonomic constraints and off-diagonal learning to the proposed algorithm are also discussed. Simulation results using a real-world recording confirm superior performanceof the proposed algorithm and its usefulness in real world applications.

  • ARMA fast Transversal filter(FTF) algorithm solves the extended least squres estimation problems in a very efficient way. But unfortunately, it exhibits a very unstable behavior, due to the accumulation of round-off errors. So, in this paper, two effective method to stabilize ARMA FTF algorithm is proposed. They are based on the analysis of the propagation of the numerical errors according to a first order linear model. The proposed methods modify the numerical properties of the variables responsible for the numerical instability, while proeserving the theoretical form of the algorithm. The proposed algorithms still have the nice complexity properties of the original algorithm, but have a much more stable brhavior.

  • RLS algorithms are required for applications to adaptive line enhancers, adaptive equalizers for voiceband telephone and HF modems, and wide-badn digital spectrum mobile raio in which their convergence time and tracking speed are significant. The fast QR RLS algorithm satisfies above the requirements. Its computational complexity is linearly proportional to the tap number of a filter, N and its performance remains numerically stable. From the result of simumulation, the fast QR RLS algorithm represented Cioffi is better than gradient based algorithm in its initial performance when being applied to an adaptive line enhancer for cancelling noise.

Adaptive Data Association for Multi-Target Tracking using Relaxation

  • This paper introduces an adaptive algorithm determining the measurement-track association problem in multi-target tracking(MTT). We model the target and measurement relationships with mean field theory and then define a MAP estimate for the optimal association. Based on this model, we introduce an energy function defined over the measurement space, that incorporates the natural constraints for target tracking. To find the minimizer of the energy function, we derived a new adaptive algorithm by introducing the Lagrange multipliers and local dual theory. Through the experiments, we show that this algorithm is stable and works well in general environments. Also the advantages of the new algorithm over other algorithms are discussed.

  • This paper presents an improved interpolation algorithm which enables to find a unit function in $H^{\infty}$. From the proposed algorithm the interpolation problem on the infinity point with multiplicity can be solved. This is based on the DPL algorithm the acquired unit function has low order and can be directly applied to strong/simultaneous stabilization problem in control systems. Finally, we verify that poles of transfer function of closed-loop system exist in stable region while investgating internal stability.

  • We, in this paper, design the Sugeno-models fuzzy controller by using the membership function modification algorithm and ANFIS, which are clustering and learning the input-output data. The membership function modification algorithm constructs the more concrete fuzzy controller by clustering the input-output data from the fuzzy inference system. ANFIS construct the Sugeno-models fuzzy controller by learning the input-output data from the above controller. We showed that the fuzzy controller designed by our method could have the stable learning and the enhanced performance.

  • A distributed stable marriage problem in extended in this paper. The traditional approach related to the stable matching problem assume that preference lists are fixed. However, in decentralized version this assumption is not reasonable because of the autonomy of members. In this paper, we consider the situation that a preference list can be varied at some stable matching and show the condition to be broken the stability of the original matching. Moreover, we propose a stabilization algorithm to obtain a stable matching by execution with a minimal set of members.

  • An Adaptation algorithm is presented and a convergence criterion is derived for parallel model reference adaptive bilinear systems. The output error converges asymptotically to zero, and the parameter estimates are bounded for stable reference models. The convergence criterion depends only upon the input sequence and a priori estimates of the maximum parameter values.

  • In remote USV (Unmanned Surface Vehicle) maritime operation, the remote operation and control technic and autonomous control technic is required and the emergency mode algorithm is needed certainly for sailing and accomplishing various surveillance, reconnaissance, and underwater search missions of USV. In this paper, we review the countermeasures in emergency situation of the existing USV system (Barracuda) and propose the emergency mode algorithm considering the operation and control, and autonomous control level for the stable USV operation in case of emergency. We analyzed the autonomous control level in view of the mission complexity and environmental difficulty, and human interface, and verified the performance of the autonomous control level when we apply four emergency mode algorithms. It is expected that more stable and reliable operation and cotrol are possible if the proposed algorithm is applied to the environments requiring the various multi-mission USV sailing and mission achievement.
