  • A cross-flow fan is strongly influenced by the various design factors of a rear-guider and a stabilizer. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of a rear-guider and a stabilizer on the surface pressure of a rear-guider in an indoor room air-conditioner using a cross-flow fan. The design factors considered in this paper are a rear-guider clearance, a stabilizer clearance, and a stabilizer setup angle, respectively. The operating condition of a cross-flow fan was controlled by changing the static pressure and flowrate using a fan tester. All surface pressures of a rear-guider are differently distributed according to the stabilizer setup angle, and show a zero value in the flow coefficient, ${\Phi}{\fallingdotseq}0.5$ only of a stabilizer setup angle, $45^{\circ}$. Especially, they show a big negative value in the expansion angle larger than $34^{\circ}$ regardless of a rear-guider clearance, a stabilizer clearance, and a stabilizer setup angle. On the other hand, surface pressures for various stabilizer cutoff clearances are better than those for various rear-guider clearances.

  • The aerodynamic performance of an indoor room air-conditioner using a cross-flow fan is strongly influenced by the various design factors of a rear-guider and a stabilizer. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of a rear-guider and a stabilizer on the aerodynamic performance in the maximum flowrate range of a cross-flow fan. The design factors considered in this study are a rear-guider clearance, a stabilizer cutoff clearance, and a stabilizer setup angle, respectively. Aerodynamic performances including maximum flowrate and power show the biggest magnitude distribution in the case of $45^{\circ}$, the stabilizer setup angle as well as nearly similar magnitude distribution regardless of the stabilizer cutoff clearances. Moreover, the more a rear-guider clearance increases, the more the magnitude of maximum flowrate and power increases.

  • Soilcrete has been the traditional material for the paving and soft ground improvement techniques. But because the durability is not excellent and the quality is not homogeneous, it has not been used for the various purposes up to date. And because the quality of soilcrete is apt to be changed by the content of water and soil stabilizer, and the kind of soil and soil stabilizer, it is not free of cares. But with the increase of naturally oriented needs for the light traffic road such as pedestrian roads of the garden, golf courses and sidewalks, the cases of soilcrete paving has been increased recently. This study aims at making the reference table of the mix design in accordance with the required design specifications for the soilcrete admixtures by the FGC soil stabilizer by using the statistical experiment method. The treated soil is the clay which are widely spreaded in Korea. As the results of this study we can derive the effective reference mix design table for the clay soil treated by the FGC soil stabilizer in accordance with the compressive strength of 50∼200kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ soilcrete with respect to the contents of water, soil stabilizer and fine sand.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of a rear-guider and a stabilizer on the aerodynamic performance of a cross-flow fan. The design factors considered in this paper are a rear-guider clearance, a stabilizer clearance, and a stabilizer setup angle, respectively. This experiment was carried out with a constant revolution number of 700 rpm in a cross-flow fan installed in the fan tester. The static pressure, flowrate, torque, and revolution number were measured in this paper. Also, the pressure coefficient and the efficiency were analysed according to the various assembly conditions using a stabilizer setup angle, a stabilizer clearance, and a rear-guider clearance in the indoor room air-conditioner.

  • The objective of this study is to find out the design data for gas burner with an axal and radial type nozzles. The design parameters are chosen as the stabilizer type, the jet hole size of gas nozzle, the distance between gas nozzle and stabilizer, the size of stabilizer and the hole size of stabilizer, the stabilizer type with or without air swirler, the angle of swirler. For the experimental test combustor sizing ${\phi}1.3m{\times}L4.5m$ is designed and manufactured, in which the set up of power diagram, the exhaust gas analysis, blow-off test, the flame temperature and the direct photography are performed.

  • Utilizing the theory of ship motions, the effect of fin stabilizer on the roll motion has been investigated. From the analysis, a general design procedure has been derived for a particular ship in specific operational condition and sea states. Finally, a working example has been given to show how the introduced method could be applied in practical design.

  • This paper presents an optimal fuzzy power system stabilizer to damp out low frequency oscillation. The fuzzy logic controllers has been applied to a power system stabilizing controllers. But the design of a fuzzy logic power system stabilizer relies on empirical and heuristic knowledge of human experts as well as many trial-and-errors in general. This paper presents the optimal design method of the fuzzy logic stabilizer using the genetic algorithm, which is the optimization method based on the mechanics of natural selection and natural genetics. The proposed method tunes the parameters of the fuzzy logic stabilizer in order to minimize the consuming time during the design process. In this paper, the proposed method tunes the shape of membership function of the fuzzy variables. The proposed system is applied to the one-machine infinite-bus model of a power system. Through the case study, the efficiency of the fuzzy stabilizing controller tuned by genetic algorithm is verified.

  • This paper presents an optimal fuzzy power system stabilizer to damp out low frequency oscillation. So far fuzzy controllers have been applied to power system stabilizing controllers due to its excellent properties on the nonlinear systems. But the design process of fuzzy logic power system stabilizer requires empirical and heuristic knowledge of human experts as well as many trial-and-errors in general. This paper presents and optimal design method of the fuzzy logic stabilizer using the genetic algorithm. Non-symmetric membership functions are optimally tuned over an evaluation function. The present inputs of fuzzy stabilizer are torque angle error and the change of torque angle error without loss of generality. The coding method used in this paper is concatenated binary mapping. Each linguistic fuzzy variable, defined as the peak of a membership function, is assigned by the mapping from a minimum value to a maximum value using eight bits. The tournament selection and the elitism are used to keep the worthy individuals in the next generation. The proposed system is applied to the one-machine infinite-bus model of a power system, and the results showed a promising possibility.

  • The High-Tc superconducting power cable consists of a multi-layer high-Tc superconducting cable core and a stabilizer which is used to bypass the current at fault time. Eddy current loss is generated in the stabilizer in normal operating condition and affects the whole system. In this paper, the eddy current losses are analyzed with respect to various structure of stabilizer by using opera-3d. Moreover, optimal conditions of the stabilizer are derived to minimize the eddy current losses from the analyzed results. The obtained results could be applied to the design and manufacture of the high-Tc superconducting power cable system.

But the design process of fuzzy controller requires empirical and heuristic knowledge of human experts as well as many trial-and-errors in general. This process is time consuming task. This paper presents an parameters tuning method of the fuzzy power system stabilizer using the genetic algorithm and simulated annealing(SA). The proposed method searches the local minimum point using the simulated annealing algorithm. The proposed method is applied to the one-machine infinite-bus of a power system. Through the comparative simulation with conventional stabilizer and fuzzy stabilizer tuned by genetic algorithm under various operating conditions and system parameters, the robustness of fuzzy stabilizer tuned by proposed method with respect to the nonlinear power system is verified.
