  • In addition to the instability of energy import costs caused by the depletion of petroleum resources, which is a representative energy resource, and the strengthening of various regulations such as the convention on climate change, the plant for bio energy production, which is being watched as the next generation energy, and became subject of various complaints. In order to solve this problem, the bio-plant is underground and the ground is parked, making the convenience and accessibility of citizens more and more accessible. In this situation, the development of bioenergy production technology also increases the risk factor in bioenergy production process. Accordingly this paper explains method about apply the wide angle camera based AOA algorithm to the bio plant to prevent the accidents from spreading due to the lack of facilities and safety devices and the aging of the facilities and suggests a technique that can quickly identify the location and direction when it occurs.

  • The Operating Experience Report(OER) has written about the event and accident happened at a Nuclear Power Plant(NPP). The purpose of publishing the OER is to prevent the similar event or accident repeatedly by spreading the experience of a single plant to other plants personnel. Before initiating the analysis mentioned in this paper, 2,298 review reports for the same number of OER published from 2007 to June 2012 have been written to achieve the correct and objective statistics. The analysis introduced in this paper is performed with the various factors such as year, plant type, equipment, type of work, root-cause. The root-cause analysis is showed that the equipment problem is the major factor in domestic NPPs, but on the other hand human-error is the main part of the foreign NPPs. Moreover, while the number of the man-made event is decreasing, the equipment-made event is rapidly increasing in domestic NPPs.

  • Sorghum is the fifth most important cereal worldwide, spreading from Africa throughout the world. It is particularly important in the semi-arid tropics due to its drought tolerance, and when cultivated in Southeast Asia commonly occurs as a second crop during the dry season. We recovered Fusarium from sorghum in Thailand and found F. proliferatum, F. thapsinum and F. verticillioides most frequently, and intermittent isolates of F. sacchari and F. beomiforme. The relatively high frequencies of F. proliferatum and F. verticillioides, suggest mycotoxin contamination, particularly fumonisins and moniliformin, should be evaluated. Genetic variation within the three commonly recovered species was characterized with vegetative compatibility, mating type, Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphisms (AFLPs), and female fertility. Effective population number ($N_e$) was highest for F. verticillioides and lowest for F. thapsinum with values based on mating type allele frequencies higher than those based on female fertility. Based on AFLP genetic variation, the F. thapsinum populations were the most closely related, the F. verticillioides populations were the most distantly related, and the F. proliferatum populations were in an intermediate position. The genetic variation observed could result if F. thapsinum is introduced primarily with seed, while F. proliferatum and F. verticillioides could arrive with seed or be carried over from previous crops, e.g., rice or maize, which sorghum is following. Confirmation of species transmission patterns is needed to understand the agricultural systems in which sorghum is grown in Southeast Asia, which are quite different from the systems found in Africa, Australia, India and the Americas.

  • Charcoal rot disease, caused by the fungus Macrophomina phaseolina, is one of the most important diseases of Sesame (Sesamum indicum) all over the world. However, the population biology of M. phaseolina is poorly understood. In this study, M. phaseolina isolates from five different regions of Iran (Khuzestan, Fars, Bushehr, Hormozgan, and Kohgiluyeh & Boyer-Ahmad provinces) (n=200) were analyzed for genetic variation using inter simple sequence repeats marker. In total, 152 unique haplotypes were identified among the 200 M. phaseolina isolates, and gene diversity (H=0.46-0.84) and genotypic diversity were high in each of the regions. The structure analysis clustered five Iranian populations into two distinct groups, the individuals from group 1 were assigned to the Bushehr population and the individuals from Khuzestan, Fars, Hormozgan and Kohgiluyeh & Boyer-Ahmad were aggregated and formed group 2. The results matched with genetic differentiation and gene flow among regions. Analyses of the distribution of gene diversity within and among five Iranian populations were 61% and 39%, respectively. Our results showed that infected seeds are thought to be the dominant mechanism responsible for the spreading of the pathogen in southern parts of Iran. In summary, it is essential to have local quarantine and prevent seed exchanges between geographical populations to restrict the dispersal of pathogen over long distances and provide certified seeds in Iran.

  • Mikania micrantha, a neo-tropical vine, is spreading rapidly in the tropical part of Nepal and is now threatening the rural ecosystem including biodiversity and rural livelihoods. However, no attempt has been made to control the spread of M. micrantha. As a result, the vines are spreading freely and rapidly. After a thorough literature review and assessment of forest management practices, we proposed a manual cutting method, as it suits the Nepalese situation for several reasons: required labor is readily available, as local communities are managing forest patches, and the method does not have any potential adverse effects on non-target native species. Experimental plots were laid out in August 2011 to examine the effectiveness of manual cutting. Two different site types based on canopy coverage were selected and divided into three blocks based on cutting strategy. Four treatments were assigned across the experimental plots following a complete block design. We harvested above-ground biomass according to the assigned treatment. The results suggested that there should be at least two consecutive cuttings within a 3-week interval before flowering, and that three consecutive cuttings resulted in 91% mortality of the vines. In addition, cutting promoted regeneration of native plant species. Employing regular cutting operations can modify understory shade enhancing regeneration of native species, which is a desirable condition to constrain proliferation of M. micrantha. Periodic cuttings reduced the competitiveness of M. micrantha regardless of canopy openness, but native ground cover should be retained.

  • Mesquite or Vilayati babul (Prosopis juliflora) is a drought resistant, evergreen, spiny tree with drooping branches and a deep laterally spreading root system. It grows in semi-arid and arid tracts of tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world and is spreading because the leaves are unpalatable and animals do not digest its seed. The mesquite has become a major nuisance; cutting or pruning its branches to form a canopy would provide shade for travelers, aid harvesting of pods, as well as make available wood for fuel. An average plant starts fruiting by 3-4 years of age and yields annually 10-50 kg pods/ tree, which can be collected from May-June and September-October. Availability of pods worldwide is estimated to be about 2-4 million metric tonnes. Ripe pods are highly palatable; on dry matter basis they contain 12% crude protein, 15% free sugar, a moderate level of digestible crude protein (7% DCP) with a high level of energy (75% TDN). The pods contain low tannin levels below those toxic to animals. Seeds contain 31-37% protein; pods should be finely ground before feeding to facilitate utilization of the seeds. Mesquite pods could replace costlier feed ingredients such as grain and bran contributing 10-50% of the diet. Phosphorus supplements need to be added when mesquite pod, exceeds 20% of animals' diet.

  • Until now, occurrence of Rice black-streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV) is observed in Gyeongsang provinces, southeastern part of Korea. However, recently, the occurrence of RBSDV is increasing and spreading in Jeonra provinces including Gochang-gun, southwestern part of Korea. RBSDV infected plants showed typical symptoms including stunted, deformed leaves with white waxy or black-streaked swelling along the veins. We extracted viral genomic dsRNA from infected leaves and analyzed dsRNA pattern by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Ten genomic segments with similar sized dsRNAs were observed. We also detected RBSDV by reverse transcription (RT)-PCR using specific primers for S10 from genomic dsRNA and observed amplified DNA fragment specific for RBSDV S10.
