분무건조에 의한 분말대추음료의 가공 (Processing of Powdered Jujube Juice by Spray Drying)

  • 대추를 이용한 가공제품의 하나로서 분무건조에 의한 분말음료의 개발을 시도하였다. 대추 추출액은 그 자체로는 모든 농도 범위에서 분무건조 하기가 불가능하였고 건조보조제의 첨가에 의해서 분말음료로의 제조가공이 가능하였다 대추 추출액은 26。Bx 농도까지 농축시키고 알맞은 건조보조제를 첨가하여 최종농도를 30。Bx로 조정하여 분무 건조시켰다 첨가되는 건조보조제의 양은 대추 추출액과 건조보조제의 비율이고 형물 기준으로 1:1정도까지 흔합했을때 건조가 용이하고 얻어지는 제품의 품질이 양호하였다. maltose, 농축유, gum arabic, dextrin등의 건조보조제를 검토한 결과 maltose와 gum arabic을 흔합하여 사용할 때 제품의 관능적 특성이 가장 우수하였다. 대추 추출시의 효소처리는 수율을 13~39% 향상시 킬 수 있었다. 그렇지만 효소처리가 분말대추음료의 관능적인 특성에 부정적인 영향을 나타내었으며 추출수율 향상을 위해 사용되어진다면 품질열화가 적은 pectinase의 0.5% 처리가 가장 바람직한 것으로 나타났다.

Value of spray-dried egg in pig nursery diets

  • High-quality protein ingredients have been used in nursery diets, in spite of expensive ingredients, to minimize nutritional deficiency and disease problems. Recent dramatic increases in prices of protein products for nursery diets have exacerbated the challenge. Spray-dried egg may be a part of the solutions. Therefore, this review describes the value of spray-dried egg in nursery diets as a high-quality protein source. Spray-dried egg is egg by-product and is produced by only eggs without shell that are below the USDA Grade B standards. Spray-dried egg is an excellent nutrient source: 1) highly digestible, 2) excellent balance of amino acids, 3) rich content of fat, and 4) high metabolizable energy. These can be attributed to growth of nursery pigs. Beyond the provision of bioavailable nutrients, spray-dried egg also may provide specific physiological benefits. Spray-dried egg contains 1) immunoglobulin antibodies (IgY: IgG in egg yolk) that may attach to intestinal pathogens and excrete them and 2) lysozymes antimicrobial protein that can damage bacteria cell wall. Thereby feeding spray-dried egg may reduce concentration of intestinal pathogen and thus improve potential gut health or enteric disease resistance in nursery pigs. This is important for physiologically immature weaned pigs. Based on these benefits, spray-dried egg is believed to have the same benefits as spray-dried plasma protein and milk products in diets for nursery pigs. Therefore, it is suggested that spray-dried egg has a great potential as a valuable protein source in nursery diets.

Warm spray를 이용한 알루미늄-알루미나 복합 코팅층의 제조 및 특성 (Manufacturing and Properties of Al-Al2O3 Composite Coating Layer Using Warm Spray Process)

  • Properties of coatings produced by warm spray were investigated in order to utilize this technique as a repair method for Al tire molds. $Al-(0-10%)Al_2O_3$ composite powder was sprayed on Al substrate by warm spraying, and the microstructure and mechanical properties of the composite coating layer were investigated. For comparative study, the properties of the coating produced by plasma spray, which is a relatively high-temperature spraying process, were also investigated. The composite coating layers produced by the two spray techniques exhibited significantly different morphology, perhaps due to their different process temperatures and velocities of particles. Whereas the $Al_2O_3$ particles in the warm sprayed coating layer maintained their initial shape before the spray, flattened and irregular shape $Al_2O_3$ particles were distributed in the plasma sprayed coating layer. The coating layer produced by warm spray showed significantly higher adhesive strength compared to that produced by plasma spray. Hardness was also higher in the warm sprayed coating layer compared to the plasma sprayed one. Moreover, with increasing the fraction of $Al_2O_3$, hardness gradually increased in both spray coating processes. In conclusion, an $Al-Al_2O_3$ composite coating layer with good mechanical properties was successfully produced by warm spray.

유자차 부산물인 유자즙의 분말화 연구 (Drying of Citron Juice from By-product of Citron Tea Manufacturing)

  • 유자의 부산물을 이용하여 유자과즙의 이용율을 향상하고 편이성을 높임으로써 고품질의 제품을 생산할 수 있는 기반을 마련하고자, 유차자 제조 과정 중 발생하는 유자액에 대한 분말화를 시도하였다. 액체 상태인 유자즙과 이를 분말화한 분말과즙의 주요 성분을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 액상 유자즙의 수분함량은 82.3% 였으며, 분무 건조한 분말과즙이 동결 건조한 분말과즙보다 수분함량이 다소 낮게 나타났으나 cyclodextrin의 농도에 따라서는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 2. 유자 과즙중의 유기산으로 citric acid, malic acid, succinic acid 및 lactic acid 등이 검출되었으며, 건조방법에 따른 유기산의 함량에는 큰 차이가 없었다. 3. 액체과즙을 분말화함으로써 황색도가 현저히 증가하였다. 4. 분말과즙의 열안정성은 상당히 낮은 편이며 분무건조와 동결건조 모두 cyclodextrin 10% 첨가한 군이 15% 첨가군보다 열에 다소 안정하였다. 5. 동결건조과정이 분무 건조 때보다 흡습성이 크며, cyclodextrin에 의한 차이는 거의 없었다. 6. 용해도는 분무건조와 동결건조 모두에서 10분 정도부터 큰 변화가 없는 것으로 조사되었다. 7. 관능평가 결과 분무건조를 한 경우보다 동결건조방법이 기호도가 높게 나타났으며, 이는 동결건조방법에서 상대적으로 쓴맛과 신맛을 덜 느끼고 단맛을 강하게 느끼기 때문으로 분석되었다.

Improvement of color for iron oxide from waste pickling acid

  • In this study, to improve the color of iron oxide from waste pickling acid at the cold rolling mill, quality control technologies to improve color were investigated. During operation of the spray roaster, the charge amount of waste acid per hour, temperature, and numbers of spray nozzles were investigated. At the admixing process, titanium oxide, silica, and goethite were tested. The color character of iron oxide can be improved by process control of the spray roaster and the admixing process at a pigment factory. Iron oxide from this study is appropriate for use as a colorant of a concrete product.

감마선 조사에 의해 제조된 나노-실리카은 유무기복합 입자를 포함한 항진균성 스프레이 제제의 생활환경 저해균에 대한 실용성 검토 (A Test of Antifungal Spray Formulation Containing Nanosized Silica-Silver Particles Prepared by Using Gamma Irradiation for Practical Use to Control Indoor Fungi)

  • The present study described an antimicrobial spray composition comprising nanosized silica-silver particles, in which nano-silver is bound to silica molecules and a water-soluble polymer, the nanosized silica-silver particles prepared by irradiating a solution comprising a silver salt, silicate and the water-soluble polymer with radiation rays. According to a surfactant addition, the compositions were not turbid and were colorless. Also samples (cotton fabrics and wallpaper) were treated with the compositions also did not cause any stains even after drying under sunshine and at $80^{\circ}C$. Our results suggested that the spray formulation product was of practical use to control indoor fungi.

실링이 플라즈마 스프레이 코팅된 알루미나 코팅재의 내부식성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Sealing on the Corrosion Resistance of Plasma-Sprayed Alumina Coatings)

  • Sealing treatment is a post-surface treatment of the plasma spray coating process to improve the corrosion resistance of the coating material. In this study, the effect of the sealing on the corrosion resistance and adhesive strength of the plasma spray-coated alumina coatings was analyzed. For sealing, an epoxy resin was applied to the surface of the coated specimen using a brush. The coated specimen was subjected to a salt spray test for up to 48 hours and microstructural analysis revealed that corrosion in the coating layer/base material interface was suppressed due to the resin sealing. Measurement of the adhesive strength of the specimens subjected to the salt spray test indicated that the adhesive strength of the sealed specimens remained higher than that of the unsealed specimens. In conclusion, the resin sealing treatment for the plasma spray-coated alumina coatings is an effective method for suppressing corrosion in the coating layer/base material interface and maintaining high adhesive strength.

분무형 생활화학제품의 분사형태 분류제안과 부유비율 평가 (Classification Proposals for Spray Type and Airborne Fraction Ratio of Consumer Chemical Products)

  • Background: The National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER)'s classification of and airborne fraction ratio for consumer chemical products (CCP) does not reflect the characteristics of various product classifications. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to reclassify the types of spray products according to the diverse spray characteristics of CCPs to evaluate the airborne fraction ratio of representative spray types and to compare them with previous CCPs types and airborne fraction ratios. Methods: One thousand seven hundred two products were selected through market research, and 932 newly reported products were selected. After that, 200 were selected to evaluate products with potential inhalation exposure. After classifying six product types that are expected to show differences in the airborne fraction ratio according to the type of product, a final 38 products were selected for use in the airborne fraction ratio through random sampling. Results: CCP has been reclassified from two to six types so that the characteristics of all products are well-reflected. The NIER simply had two airborne fraction ratios, but the results of experiments with six types of products showed a significant difference in values (p<0.01). Airborne fraction ratios of propellant general foam, pump general aerosol, and pump trigger foam in spray type, which were not previously present in NIER, were 7.1%, 24.4%, and 3.5%, respectively. Conclusions: For the diversified types of CCPs, the newly proposed classification was more appropriate than the existing NIER classification. The airborne fraction ratio was also different for each type, so a new value was suggested.

분무열분해 공정에 의해 합성되어진 나노 크기 Gd2O3:Eu형광체 (Nano-sized Gd2O3:Eu Phosphor Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis)

  • $Gd_2$$O_3$:Eu phosphor particles with nano-sized and non-aggregation characteristics were prepared by spray pyrolysis using the spray solution containing polymeric precursor and $Li_2$$CO_3$ flux material. Nano-sized $Gd_2$$O_3$:Eu phosphor particles had higher brightness than the commercial $Y_2$$O_3$:Eu phosphor particles. The $Gd_2$$O_3$:Eu phosphor particles had nano-size and non-aggregation characteristics after heat-treatment at $1000^{\circ}C$ when the addition amount of $Li_2$$CO_3$ flux was 1 wt.% and 3 wt.%. The mean size of particles were 200 nm and 400 nm when the amount of flux was 1 wt.% and 3 wt.%, respectively. The prepared phosphor particles had higher photoluminescence intensity than that of the commercial product regardless of the content of$ Li_2$$CO_3$ flux and had the maximum brightness when the content of flux was 5 wt %. The photoluminescence intensity of the nano-sized $Gd_2$$O_3$:Eu phosphor particles containing 3 wt.% $Li_2$$CO_3$ flux was 125% in comparison with that of the micron-sized $Y_2$$O_3$:Eu commercial product.

노루궁뎅이버섯 추출물을 이용한 제형가공 및 품질특성 (Form Manufacturing and Quality Characteristics using Extracts from Hericium erinaceus)

  • 생리활성물질을 다량 함유하고 있는 노루궁뎅이 버섯을 효과적으로 섭취하기 위하여 분말, 과립, 타블렛, 캅셀 등 다양한 제형으로 가공하였으며 이들의 품질특성을 비교하였다. 수분함량은 분무건조 분말, 과립, 타블렛 순으로 그 값은 각각 4.37%, 3.78%, 3.43%으로 나타났으며 총당 함량은 분무건조 분말이 19.14 g%로 가장 낮은 함량을 보여주었고 단백질 함량은 분무건조 분말, 과립, 타블렛 순으로 그 값은 각각 4.39 g% 1.04g%, 0.75g% 임을 확인하였다. 제형별 수분결합지수는 과립 및 타블렛 제품이 분무건조분말 제품보다 수분결합지수가 낮은 것으로 나타났는데 이는 과립과 타블렛 제조시 가용성의 탄수화물 제제인 부형제가 많이 첨가되었기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 전체적인 색상을 나타내는 hue angle은 분무건조 분말이 $85.50^{\circ}$, 과립이 $95.37^{\circ}$, 타블렛이 $94.67^{\circ}$로 나타났다. 저장안정성을 확인하기 위한 제형별 흡습특성은 분무건조 분말이 가장 높은 흡습성을 보였으며 과립, 타블렛 순으로 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내어 분무건조 분말보다는 타블렛 형태로 제조한다면 저장성 면에서 더 우수한 제품을 얻을 것으로 사료된다.
