In this paper an experimental study is presented to investigate the effect of a step edge and a stationary droplet on the dynamic behavior of impacting droplet on a wall. The main parameters are the distance from the edge and the center-to-center distance between two droplets. Photographic images are presented to show coalescence dynamics, shape evolution and contact line movement. The emphasis is on presenting the spreading length of droplet for the step edge and two coalescing droplets along their original centers. It is clarified that the droplet exhibits much different dynamic behavior depending on the location of the step edge. The momentum of impacting droplet was better transferred to the stationary droplet as the center- to-center distance between two droplets was reduced, which results in more spreading of coalescing droplet.
Inkjet printing is one of the direct writing technologies and is able to form a pattern onto substrate by dispensing droplets in desired position. Also, by inkjet technology manufacturing time and production costs can be reduced, and procedures can be more efficient. To form a metal pattern, it must be harmonized with conductive nano ink, printing process, sintering, and surface treatment. In this study, micro patterning of conductive line has been investigated using the piezoelectric printhead driven by a bipolar voltage signal is used to dispense $20-40{\mu}m$ diameter droplets and silver nano ink which consists of 50 nm silver particles. In addition, hydrophobic treatment of surface, overlap printing techniques, and sintering conditions with changing temperature and times to achieve higher conductivity.
Thrust throttling in a liquid rocket engine can be implemented via several ways such as high pressure drop injector, dual manifold, multiple chamber, pintle injector, and gas injection. Thrust throttling using gas injection controls thrust by usually injecting inert gas into propellant through an aerator to reduce the propellant's bulk density. In this study, the outside-in aerator was used in the propellant line to create two phase flow. Closed-type, open-type, and screw-type bi-swirl coaxial injectors were utilized for investigating throttling characteristics such as pressure drop, mixture density, and discharge coefficient according to gas-liquid mass ratio.
This study presents a prediction methodology of thermodynamic properties by using RK-PR Equation of State in a wide range of temperature and pressure conditions including both sub-critical and super-critical regions, in order to obtain thermophysical properties for hydrocarbon aviation fuels and their products resulting from endothermic reactions. The density and the constant pressure specific heat are predicted in the temperature range from 300 to 1000 K and the pressure from 0.1 to 5.0 MPa, which includes all of the liquid and gas phases and the super-critical region of three representative hydrocarbon fuels, and then compared with those data obtained from the NIST database. Results show that the averaged relative deviations of both predicted density and constant pressure specific heat are below 5% in the specified temperature and pressure conditions, and the major sources of the errors are observed near the saturation line and the critical point of each fuel.

In this study, the removal efficiency of trimethylamine (TMA) and four reduced sulfur compounds (RSC) of $H_2S$, $CH_3SH$, DMS, and DMDS was investigated using deionized water as absorbent. To this end, two types of experiments were conducted which include: (1) by passing both RSC and TMA standard gases through water contained in an impinger system and (2) by passing TMA gases through a water spray system. In the former method, TMA standard gases were effectively removed (below detection limit) in all experiments. Likewise, minor fractions of some RSC ($CH_3SH$, DMS, and DMDS) were removed by water in line with theoretical expectations. In addition, the first type of our experiment was extended further to test some commercially available odor treatment products. The results of this test showed that removal efficiencies of RSC $(8.2\pm13.7\sim43.7\pm2.48%)$ were different significantly among 4 kinds of absorbent, while the removal of TMA was consistently good as water. In the second phase of experiment, removal efficiency of TMA was tested by passing its standard gas through a water spray system. The overall results of our study showed that the actual removal efficiency of odorants by water (as sorptive media) approached the values that can be predicted theoretically (by Henry's law).

Multi-regression statistical analyses were applied for the water quality data of shallow alluvial ground water (n = 47) collected from the Youngdeok area, in order to quantitatively generalize the natural (non-anthropogenic) causes of regional water quality variation. Seven samples having the high contamination index ( $C_{a}$ > 3) reflect the striong effects by anthropogenic activity. Most of the alluvial groundwaters have acquired their quality primarily due to the dissolution of carbonate minerals. The results of multi-regression analysis show that chlorine is mainly derived from seawater effect. Sulfur isotopic compositions of dissolved sulfur and the S $O_4$/Cl ratio also enable us to discriminate the samples (n = 18) which are affected by atmospheric input of marine aerosol (sea-spray) and also by mixing between freshwater and seawater. Hydrogen and oxygen isotope data of the samples collected lie close to the local meteoric water line obtained from nearby Pohang city but has lower slope (5.45) on the $\delta$D-$^{18}$ O plot, indicating that alluvial groundwater was recharged from infiltrated meteoric water which has undergone some degree of kinetic evaporation. The estimated initial isotopic composition of the recharged water ($\delta$D = -74.8$^{0}$ /$_{00}$, $\delta$$^{18}$ O = -10.8$^{[-1000]}$ /$_{[-1000]}$ ) suggests that the alluvial ground water recharge largely occurs during summer storm events.s.s.

In this study, the corrosion resistance by salt spray was evaluated using A6061-T6 for an electric vehicle battery pack case coated with an organic/inorganic hybrid solution. The lowest curing temperature of 190 ℃ resulted in significant corrosion and pitting. Meanwhile, no corrosion was observed in the coated specimens at 210 ℃ and 230 ℃ except at 210 ℃ - 6 min and 8 min. The surface of the as-received coating specimen observed by FE-SEM exhibited streaks and dents in the rolling direction, but the coating surface was clean. On the 190 ℃ - 6 min coating specimen, which had a lot of corrosion, rolling streaks spread, and dents were caused by corrosion. The 200 ℃ - 12 min coating specimen did not show corrosion, but it showed an etched surface. In the line profile, Si, the main component of the coating solution, was detected the most, and Ti was also detected. In the coating specimens with salt spray, O increased and Si decreased, regardless of corrosion. The peeling rate by adhesion evaluation was 26 - 87% for the 190 ℃ coating specimen, 4 - 83% for the 210 ℃ coating specimen, and 94 - 100% for the 230 ℃ coating specimen. The optimal curing conditions for the coating solution used in this study were 210 ℃ for 10 min.
Yittrium Iron Garnet(YIG) has been used as an important material in the circulator/isolator which is used in RF communication system, mobile phone, adn satellite broadcasting, etc. In this study, we investigated the microstructural and magnetic properties of YIG ferrites with the sintering temperature and additives. We fabricated the YIG ferrites substituted with Ca, In, V by the traditional ceramic sintering method at 1250$\^{C}$, 1275$\^{C}$, 1300$\^{C}$ and 1325$\^{C}$. Powders were granulated by using a spray dryer. Crystallographic and microstructural properties were measured by using XRD and SEM. Magnetic properties were measured by using a VSM for saturation magnetization (4$\pi$M$\_$s/) and FMR (Ferromagnetic Resonance) experiment for ferromagnetic resonance line width (△H). The YIG ferrite, Y$\_$1.6/Ca$\_$1.4/Fe$_4$V$\_$0.7/In$\_$0.3/O$\_$12/, sintered at 1300$\^{C}$, showed higher saturation magnetization and lower ferromagnetic resonance line width than any other sintering temperatures.
Anthracnose, caused by Colletotrichum spp. is the most important and devastating disease in sweet persimmon production in worldwide. There is no alternative control method or resistant cultivar is available. Therefore, chemical controls are widely accepted to control the disease. Three fungicides among 16 fungicides have been selected to apply in field condition. The selected three fungicides (metconazole, dithianon and propineb) showed lower EC50 and reliable control effect in both in vitro and in vivo. According to general guide line of anthracnose disease control method recommended 8 times spay of the fungicide. In this study, we performed 8, 4, and 2 times spay of the fungicides. For 8 times application, practice spray machine has been used and for 4 and 2 time application, a recently invented spray machine was input. The fungicides have been treated from middle of June to end of August in 2014 year. Control effect of among the selected fungicides showed similar result regardless of sort of the fungicide. However, frequency of spray result showed significantly different results, 8 and 4 times fungicide application showed low and similar disease occurrence, but 2 times application showed intermediated disease occurrence between 4 times treatment and untreated control. Taken together, result showed that 4 times application with effective fungicide, mechanically advanced tool can reduced the anthracnose disease damage in sweet persimmon production.
