건조방법에 따른 브라운소스의 품질 특성 (Physicochemical Properties of Brown Sauce according to Drying Methods)

  • The aim of this study was to develop a convenient brown sauce product with long shelf life that has similar taste and quality characteristics with sauce used in restaurants. Response surface analysis was carried out to optimize brown sauce. Extracted brown sauce powder was subjected to hot air drying, infrared drying, freeze drying, and spray drying to determine the appropriate drying method for brown sauce manufacturing. The optimum extraction conditions were set by superimposing and reading each reaction surface that satisfied all of the sensory characteristics such as color, smell, taste, concentration, and overall preference level in order to set the optimum conditions for brown sauce production. The optimum extraction conditions for brown sauce were determined to be heating time 30 min, gelatin addition quantity 9.00%, and tomato paste addition quantity 11.25%. Reliability test showed a similar value to the predicted scope when compared to the experimental value obtained under the same conditions as the predicted value according to RSM (response surface methodology), enabling verification of the derived regression formula. Product powder of ideal brown sauce by heating, infrared radiation, freezing, and spray drying and investigate result for functional tests of color, flavor, taste, viscosity, overall acceptability and show highly acceptability on powder by infrared rays and freeze-drying methods. Especially, infrared radiation method resulted in favorable color and flavor values while freeze-drying method produced good taste and viscosity values and high overall acceptability. Therefore, infrared radiation drying method and freeze-drying method to product powder.

공기 중 Toluene diisocyanates 측정방법에 따른 포집농도 비교 (A Comparison of Collection Concentrations Based on Airborne Toluene Diisocyanates Measurement Methods)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the differences in airborne TDI concentrations based on the filter collection method and liquid collection method and to compare airborne TDIs concentrations by sampling method change when using the filter collection method in the spray-painting process. Methods: For the sample measurement, the filter collection method(OSHA#42) and liquid collection method(NIOSH#5522) were used; for the sampling method, the full-period single sampling and full-period consecutive sampling methods were used. The samples were collected in spray-painting and drying process locations. Results: In all samples collected from the spray-painting and drying process locations through the filter collection and liquid collection methods, greater amounts of 2,6-TDI than 2,4-TDI were detected. When the TDI collection concentrations based on the sampling methods were compared, the concentrations of 2,4-TDI and 2,6-TDI collected by the consecutive sampling method were higher than the concentrations of 2,4-TDI and 2,6-TDI collected by the single sampling method for both the filter collection method and liquid collection method used in the spray-painting process. These differences were statistically significant. Conclusions: When TDI collection concentrations based on the sample measurement methods were compared, the concentration of 2,4-TDI and 2,6-TDI collected through the liquid collection method were higher than the concentrations of 2,4-TDI and 2,6-TDI collected by the filter collection method, and the differences were statistically significant. In the drying process, no difference was shown in the collection concentrations of 2,4-TDI and 2,6-TDI with the two measurement methods.

$Y_2O_3-CeO_2-ZrO_2$ 구조세라믹스의 제조 및 특성 : I 분말의 합성 및 소결성 (Preparation and Characteristics of $Y_2O_3-CeO_2-ZrO_2$Structural Ceramics ; I. Synthesis and Sinterability of Powder)

  • Y2O3-CeO2-ZrO2 powders were prepared from water-soluble salts using a coprecipitation method. The forming process of oxide and the characteristics of the calcined powders treated in different drying conditions were investigated. The oxidation was occurred at the temperature of around 40$0^{\circ}C$ and the main crystallization of ZrO2 around $600^{\circ}C$. On calcination at $600^{\circ}C$ heating lamp-dried powders consisted of agglomerates of globular morphology with average agglomerate size of 2.27${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and specific surface area of 68.3m2/g and spray dried powders contained dense spheric particles with average agglomerate size of 1.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and specific surface area of 11.0m2/g which exhibited low agglomeration tendency. Removal of the water by a freeze-drying technique produced calcined powders containing flake-like secondary particle structures with wide agglomerate size distri-bution of 0.1-60${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and specific surface area of 24.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The 20 MPa-pressed density (36.8-41.4% T,D) of calcined powders did not nealy depend on drying methods whilst compaction ratio of calcined powders derived from freeze-drying was the highest ( 6.24) among three drying methods. On continuous heating up to 150$0^{\circ}C$ the sinterability of calcined powders derived from heating lamp-drying was superior to those derived from spray-and freeze-drying. The final sintered density of calcined powders was the highest (96% T,D at 150$0^{\circ}C$) in case of heating lamp-drying.

  • The magnetic Nd-Fe-B powders were prepared by a thermochemical method, consisting of the processes of spray-drying, debinding, milling, H$_2$-reduction, Ca-reduction, and washing. The optimum process conditions were studied by microstructural and thermal analysis. The resultant Nd-Fe-B powder was spherical with the size of 1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Effects of the process parameters of each step on the microstructure of the powders were investigated, and their magnetic properties were evaluated.

Development of SS-AG20-loaded Polymeric Microparticles by Oil-in-Water (o/w) Emulsion Solvent Evaporation and Spray Drying Methods for Sustained Drug Delivery

  • Controlled drug delivery systems employing microparticles offer lots of advantages over conventional drug dosage formulations. Microencapsulation technique have been conducted with biodegradable polymers such as poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and poly(lactic acid) (PLA) for its adjustable biodegradability and biocompatibility. In this study, we evaluated two techniques, oil-in-water (o/w) emulsion solvent evaporation and spray drying, for preparation of polymeric microparticles encapsulating a newly synthesized drug, SS-AG20, for the long-term drug delivery of this low-molecular-weight drug with a very short half-life. Drug-loaded microparticles prepared by the solvent evaporation method showed a smoother morphology; however, relatively poor encapsulation efficiency and drastic initial burst were discovered as drawbacks. Spray-dried drug-loaded microparticles had an imperfect surface with pores and distorted portions so that its initial burst was critical (70.05-87.16%) when the preparation was carried out with a 5% polymeric solution. By increasing the concentration of the polymer, the morphology was refined and undesirable initial burst was circumvented (burst was reduced to 35.93-74.85%) while retaining high encapsulation efficiency. Moreover, by encapsulating the drug with various biodegradable polymers using the spray drying method, gradual and sustained drug release, for up to 2 weeks, was achieved.

  • The microspheres have been developed as a new drug delivery system. Although many particulate drug carriers, such as liposome, niosome and emulsion, have been introduced, injectable and biodegradable microspheres appears to be a particularly ideal delivery system because the local anesthesia is not necessary for the insertion of large implants and for the removal of the device after the drug release is finished. Biodegradable microspheres with nicotine and triamcinolone acetonide are prepared and evaluated. As biodegradible polymers, PLA (M.W. 15,000, PLA-0015), PLGA (M.W. 17,000, RG 502) and PLGA (M.W. 8,600, RG 502H) are used. This study attempted to prepare and evaluate the nicotine and triamcinolone acetonide-incorporated microspheres, which were prepared by two methods, solvent-evaporation and spray-drying methods. The microspheres, as a disperse system for injections, were evaluated by particle size, size distribution, entrapment efficiency, and in vitro drug release patterns. The differences of preparation method, partition coefficient, types of polymer, and preparation conditions of microspheres influence the particle size, entrapment efficiency, and in vitro drug release patterns.

수분 안정성 향상을 위한 천마 추출물 함유 분말의 제조 및 평가 (Fabrication and Characterization of Gastrodia elata-loaded Particles for Increased Moisture Stability)

  • To develop Gastrodia elata (GE)-loaded particles for herbal extract dosage forms, various GE-loaded particles containing dextrin, isomalt, maltodextrin, and silicon dioxide as solidifying carriers in the GE water extract are prepared using the spray drying method. Their physical properties are evaluated using the repose angle, Hausner ratio, Carr's index, weight increase rate at 40℃/75% RH condition, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Particles made of dextrin improve the fluidity, compressibility, and water stability. In addition, 2% silicon dioxide increases the fluidity and moisture stability. The best flowability and compressibility of GE-loaded particles are observed with TP, dextrin, and silicon dioxide amounts in the ratio of 6/4/0.2 (34.29 ± 2.86°, 1.48 ± 0.03, and 38.29 ± 2.39%, repose angle, Hausner Ratio, and Carr's index, respectively) and moisture stability with a 2% weight increase rate for 14 h at 40℃/75% RH condition. Therefore, our results suggest that the particles prepared by the spray drying method with dextrin and 2% silicon dioxide can be used as powerful particles to improve the flowability, compressibility, and moisture stability of GE.

  • The magnetic alloy of $Nd_{2}Fe_{14}B$-type was synthesized by a mechano-chemical method, including the processes of spray-drying, de-binding, milling, $H_{2}$- and Ca-reduction and washing. The very fine $Nd_{2}Fe_{14}B$ particles smaller than $1\mu\textrm{m}$ could be achieved without the inevitable pulverization step in conventional processes.

Preparation and Characterization of Solid Dispersion of Ipriflavone with Polyvinylpyrrolidone

  • Solid dispersions of ipriflavone with PVP were prepared by a spray-drying method in order to improve the bioavailability. They were measured with scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, x-ray powder diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy to evaluate the physicochemical interaction between ipriflavone and PVP and study the correlation between these physicochemical characteristics and bioavailability. Ipriflavone exhibited crystallinity, whereas PVP was almost amorphous. The area of the endotherm $({\Delta}H)$ of freezer milled ipriflavone, freezer milled ipriflavone physically mixed with freezer milled PVP, and physically mixed ipriflavone with PVP was almost the same, whereas ${\Delta}H$ of the solid dispersed ipriflavone with PVP was much smaller than that of the other preparation types. Also, the crystallinity and the crystal size of ipriflavone in the solid dispersed ipriflavone with PVP were much smaller than those of the other preparation types. From the in vivo test, the AUC of the solid dispersed ipriflavone with PVP was approximately 10 times higher than that of the physically mixed ipriflavone with PVP. The solid dispersion using the spray-drying method with a water-soluble polymer, PVP, may be effective for the improvement of the bioavailability.

돈혈의 적정 건조조건과 육계사료로서의 재활용 방안 (Optimum Drying Condition for Slaughter Porcine Blood and Its Utilization as Broiler Diets)

  • Optimum drying conditions to utilize porcine blood from slaughter house for blood meals, and the effects of blood meals on growth in broiler chicks were investigated. Moisture and protein con-tents of slaughter porcine blood were 79.8 and 16.4%, respectively. The protein contents of the flash dried blood meals at 80˚C were not different from those of the spray dried blood meals at 160 and 190˚C, but higher by 17% relative to those of the spray dried blood meals at 80 and 120˚C. Results from protein analysis by SDS-polyacrylamide electrophoresis showed that flash dried blood meals at 80˚C and spray dried blood meals at 160˚C were better than spray dried blood meals at 80, 120 and 190˚C in terms of protein quality. In Feeding Trial I with broiler chicks, body weights of chicks fed 2, 4 and 6% flash dried blood meal diets at 80˚C were increased at 35 days by 5.6, 7.9 and 4.0%, respectively, compared to control group(P<0.05). In Feeding Trial II, body weights of chicks fed 4 and 6% flash dried blood meal diets at 80˚C were increased at 42 days by 4.9 and 5.3%, respectively, compared to control group(P<0.05). Feed conversion ratios of chicks fed diets 4 and 6% flash dried blood meal diets at 80˚C were significantly improved at 42 days by 7.0 and 3.7%, respectively, compared to that of control group(P<0.05). The optimum drying condition of slaughter porcine blood seemed to be the flash drying method at 80˚C
