An Integrated Training Aid System using Personalized Exercise Prescription

  • Continuously motivating people to exercise regularly is more important than finding a way out of barriers such as lack of time, cost of equipment, lack of nearby facilities, and poor weather. Our proposed system presents practicable methods of motivation through a diverse exercise aid system. The Health Improvement and Management System (all-in-one system which saves space and maintenance costs) measures and evaluates a diverse body shape analysis and physical fitness test and directs users to automated personalized exercise prescription which is prescribed by the expert system of three types of exercise templates: aerobics, anaerobics, and leisure sports. Automated personalized exercise prescriptions are built into XML based documents because the data needs to be in the form of flexible, expansible, and convertible structures in order to process various exercise templates, BIOFIT, a digital exercise trainer, monitors and provides feedback on the physiological parameters while users are working out in the gymnasium. If these parameters do not range within the prescribed target zone, the device will alarm users to control the exercise and make the exercise trainer adjust systemically the proper exercise level. Numeric health information such as the report of the physical fitness test and the exercise prescription makes people stay interested in exercising. In addition, this service can be delivered through the Internet.

감독의 변혁적·거래적 리더십이 학생 운동선수의 자기효능감에 미치는 영향: 체육고등학교를 중심으로 (The Effect of Coach's Transformational·Transactional Leadership on Athlete's Self-Efficacy among Physical Education High School Students)

  • 이 연구는 학생 운동부 감독의 변혁적 거래적 리더십이 학생 운동선수들의 자기효능감에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것에 목적이 있다. 연구의 대상은 S시와 D시에 소재한 2개의 체육고등학교에 재학 중인 학생 운동선수를 모집단으로 선정하여 비확률 표본추출법 중 편의표본추출법을 이용하여 총 400명을 표집 하였다. 회수된 258부의 설문지 중 질문 문항의 일괄적인 처리 혹은 무응답, 잘못된 기입 등 신뢰성이 떨어진다고 판단되어지는 39부의 설문지를 제외하고 총 219부를 분석에 사용하였다. SPSS 20.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 분석을 실시한 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 변혁적 리더십의 지적자극이 자기효능감의 자기 조절 효능감에 가장 큰 긍정적 영향을 보이는 변수로 나타났으며, 거래적 리더십의 조건적 보상이 두 번째로 큰 긍정적 영향력을 보이는 변수로 나타났다. 둘째, 변혁적 리더십의 영감적 동기가 자기효능감의 자신감에 가장 큰 긍정적 영향을 보이는 변수로 나타났으며, 거래적 리더십의 예외적 관리는 자신감에 오히려 부정적 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 변혁적 거래적 리더십은 자기효능감의 과제 난이도 선호성에는 통계적 유의수준 하에서 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

가이드 폭과 위치조절이 가능한 퍼팅훈련시스템 개발 및 유용성 평가 (Development and Evaluation of a Putting Training System with Changeable Guideline of Width and Distance)

  • 본 연구에서는 가이드 폭과 위치조절을 통해 퍼팅 시 순차적인 집중력 강화를 유도하여 퍼팅능력향상을 이끌어낼 수 있는 퍼팅훈련시스템을 개발하고 유용성을 평가하였다. 시스템의 하드웨어는 LEGO NXT 콘트롤러와 금속 Tetrix 세트를 이용하여 개발하였으며 소프트웨어는 LabVIEW ver. 2010을 사용하였다. 시스템의 유용성 평가를 위해 비숙련자 10인과 숙련자(KPGA) 5인에 대해 개발된 시스템의 폭 위치 변화 퍼팅훈련을 10세트 실시하고 의견을 조사하였다. 실험결과 손목부위에서의 속도 가속도 변화 감소 및 머리부위의 변위 감소를 확인할 수 있었으며, 의견조사에서 집중력 향상과 동기부여에 도움이 된다는 소견을 얻을 수 있었다. 본 시스템의 가이드 폭 위치 조절방식의 훈련법은 퍼팅을 위한 것으로 비슷한 운동구조를 갖는 노약자 장애인용 파크골프나 게이트볼 훈련에도 쉽게 적용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

도심 마을공동체 내 거주자의 상호작용과 공동체의식 - 성미산마을을 중심으로 - (Residents' Interaction and Community Consciousness in the Urban Village Community - The Case of Sungmisan Village -)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest factors for village activation and maintenance of urban village community, based on the survey of residents' interaction (neighbors relationship, using community facilities, and community activities) and their community consciousness of Seongmisan village, a successful case in Seoul. 171 residents answered the questionnaire, and the data were analyzed by the SPSS program. Major findings are as follows. 1) Families got social with neighbors, caused by common use of community facilities, nearness of houses, and kids' friendship; the number of neighbors to be expected to give help was mostly under 5. 2) Facilities used by residents more than 3 times a week were cooperative association and cafe 'Little Tree'. Facilities considered to be important by residents were living cooperative association('Doore'), kids daycare center, village school, cafe, and education center. 3) 'Village News' was mostly interested community activities; 'Village Festival' and 'Village Sports Day' were also mostly participated. 4) As for the village consciousness factors, more than 3 points of 5 marked in all the 3 categories; emotional intimacy, neighbor homogeneity, and village attribution. The village consciousness, however, showed statistically meaningful difference in residents' motivation to move into village, number of family members, age, income, period of residence, neighbors relationship, whether they participate in group activities and events or not.

Experiences in Sport, Physical Activity, and Physical Education Among Christian, Buddhist, and Hindu Asian Adolescent Girls

  • Multicultural scholarship in sport and exercise psychology should help us understand and apply cultural competencies for all to be physically active. In the present study, two Asian countries, Japan and Singapore, were chosen. The participation rate for physical activities among adolescent girls tends to be lower than that of boys in both countries. Thus, the purpose of the project was to gain knowledge and understanding about sociocultural factors that may explain adolescent girls' perceptions and behaviors toward sport, physical activity, and physical education (PE). A qualitative approach using semi-structured interviews with focus groups was used to understand meanings of physical activity among Buddhist Japanese, and Hindu Indians and Christian Chinese from Singapore. Each focus group consisted of four or five girls and female researchers. Based on the analysis, we created four themes which were "cultural identities", "Asian girls and sport/physical activities", "PE experiences", "motivation for future involvement". The Buddhist Japanese, Hindu Indian, and Christian Chinese participants each reported unique physical activity experiences, and all the participants were aware of how Asian culture may affect being physically active. Experiences of PE classes were similar but perceptions of their PE attire were different for Christian Chinese and Hindu Indian adolescent girls. Based on the results, the importance of nurturing cultural competencies and ways to encourage girls to be physically active throughout life were discussed.

한-미 청각장애인 야구의 역사와 현황의 분석 (Analysis of the History and Present of the Deaf Baseball of Korea and U.S.)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 한-미 청각장애인 야구의 역사와 현황에 대하여 살펴보고 비교 분석하여 국내 청각장애인 야구의 미흡한 점을 보완할 수 있는 자료제공에 있다. 연구의 방법으로는 논문, 신문, 단행본 및 관련 협회의 자료 등을 종합적으로 검토 분석하는 문헌분석방법을 적용하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유소년 청각장애인 야구팀의 활성화가 필요하다. 둘째, 동기 및 성취감을 부여하는 각종 대회가 활발히 개최되어야 하며, 국제대회 참가를 위한 지원이 필요하다. 셋째, 청각 장애인 야구와 청각장애인 소프트볼간의 교류가 활발히 이루어질 필요성이 있다. 넷째, 청각장애인 스포츠는 궁극적으로 비장애인과의 통합스포츠로 발전되어 나가야 한다. 이 연구의 결과는 청각장애인 야구와 관련된 다양한 후속연구의 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대한다.

목표달성가능성에 영향을 미치는 개인의 특성과 목표달성기제에 관한 연구 (The Relationship of Individual Trait Factors and Goal Mechanisms with Goal Attainability)

  • Purpose - Goal setting is effective in any domain in which an individual or group has some control over the outcomes. It applies not only to work tasks but also to sports and health, and in various other settings. Its success depends on considering the mediators and moderators determining its efficacy and applicability. This study investigates the individual factors influencing academic goal attainability. Unlike previous studies, we focused on the effect of the relationships between individual traits (passion, tenacity, self-control) and specific motivation (vision, self-efficacy, implementation intentions) with academic goal attainability, rather than the effects of the relationship between commitment and the goal shielding mechanism with goal attainability. Research design, data, and methodology - Data collected through questionnaires were analyzed by the SPSS program. A total of 293 school students, who participated in the TOEIC program, participated in the survey. Slightly more than half were female (male: n=145 vs. female: n=148). We verified nine hypotheses through various statistical methods (reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation model for the hypothesis test, bootstrapping test for the mediation test). Results - Data was analyzed in three phases. The first phase involved measurement analysis (i.e., item purification and factor structure confirmation), involving the scales of the three variables of individual traits, three mechanism variables, and goal attainability. The second phase involved estimating the proposed structural relationships among the key constructs (see Figure 1), using the results to test H1 to H9. The final phase involved examining the mediating effects of the three variables (vision, implementation intention, and self-efficacy). The research model shows that the independent variable passion has a significant result with both the mediators-vision and self-efficacy. Further, vision and self-efficacy significantly affect goal attainability. The second variable, self-control, shows a significant effect when mediated by implementation intentions, but the direct relationship between implementation intension and goal attainability shows an insignificant result. However, when further mediated by self-efficacy, it showed a significant effect between self-efficacy and goal attainability. Similarly, the third variable, tenacity, shows an insignificant result when mediated by vision. In contrast, the mediator self-efficacy shows a positive effect between tenacity and goal attainability. Conclusions - This study shows how these individual traits, when mediated with the appropriate motivational factors, resulted significantly in the attainability of academic goals. We may identify several theoretical and practical contributions. Theoretically, we developed a step further in the research into consumer goals and related studies. Future research could examine the effects of different learning goal types and their combinations with performance goals (e.g., learning goals first, then performance goals), different types of goal framing (approach success vs. avoid failure), the relation between goals and cognition (which, by implication, entails all of cognitive psychology), goal hierarchies, and macro goal studies with organizations of different sizes. More studies on the relationship between conscious and subconscious goals would also be valuable.

일본의 원소전략 프로젝트 (Strategic Elements Project of Japan)

  • 전세계적으로 희소금속의 중요성이 높아지고 있는 가운데 일본은 2004년부터 원소전략 개념을 도입하고 2007년부터는 원소전략사업을 추진하게 되었다. 일본의 문부과학성의 "원소전략 프로젝트"는 물질과 재료를 구성하고 그 기능과 특성을 결정하는 원소의 역할과 성격을 연구하고, 물질과 재료의 기능과 특성의 발현기구를 명확히 규명함으로써, 희소원소나 유해원소를 사용하지 않는 고기능을 가진 물질과 재료를 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 특히, 2010년 9월 일본명 센카쿠렛도(중국명 댜오위다오)에서 중국어선과 일본순시선이 충돌하는 사건이 일어나서, 중국어선을 나포하여 영토문제, 외교, 경제 갈등으로까지 확산되었다. 일본이 국내법을 적용하여 사법처리 하려하자, 중국이 꺼낸 카드가 희소금속의 일본수출금지였다. 이 때부터 위기감을 느낀 일본은 더욱더 원소전략 프로젝트에 박차를 가하기 시작했다. 일본정부는 풍부하고 무해한 원소에 의한 대체재료의 연구, 전략원소의 유효기능의 고활용, 원소유효이용을 위한 실용재료설계기술 등 3가지 제안으로 연구테마를 2012년 2월에 공모하여, 2012년 6월 "원소전략 프로젝트" 연구영역과 연구거점 4군데를 채택하였다. 1. Dy, Nd 등을 대체할 목적의 자성재료영역. 2. Pt, Rh/Li, Co 등을 대체할 목적의 촉매/전지재료영역. 3. In, Ta 등을 대체할 목적의 전자재료영역. 4. Nb, Mo 등을 대체할 목적의 구조재료영역. 본 논문에서는 원소전략의 4개의 영역 중에서 자성재료영역의 현재까지의 연구동향에 대해서 기술하고자 한다.

체육교사의 가치정향에 따른 안전사고 예방활동 및 실태 (Safety Accident Prevention Activities & Actual Conditions According to Physical Education Teacher's Value Orientation)

  • This dissertation aims to analyze various safety accidents taking place during physical education class according to physical education teacher's value orientation, to identify teacher's value orientation that can minimize safety accidents, and to provide basic materials for safe and smooth class management. For this purpose, data have been collected from 261 physical education teachers at some middle and high schools in G City in Kyung-Ki Province and Busan Metropolitan City. The materials were treated as follows: The variables on demographic characteristics of physical education teachers are determined by t-test ; The analysis of one-way ANOVA and relationship between value orientation and safety accident prevention activities was conducted through Pearson's linear correlation analysis and multiple regression; The analysis of the relationship between value orientation and actual conditions of safety accidents was conducted through logistic regression. First, there is almost no awareness difference of physical education teachers' value orientation according to demographical variables. The value orientation physical education teachers consider to be the most important is, however, mainly 'mastery of disciplinary lesson.' There is a statistically significant difference in safety accident prevention activities according to demographical variables. Teachers' focuses in class contents showed a significant difference according to teaching experience and working area, while the dependency on facility has a significant difference according to teaching experience and school type. Second, there is no correlation between physical education teacher's value orientation and safety accident prevention activities because there is virtually no statistically significant difference between them. It means that safety accident prevention activities are not related with on which teachers place emphasis among mastery of disciplinary lesson, social reconstruction, self-realization, ecological integration and value orientation on learning process. Third, the analysis of safety accident prevention activities according to physical education teachers' value orientation revealed that the lower value orientation in social reconstruction is, the more safety accidents teachers experience. It is also found that crashes among students, ball games and leg injuries are inter-related with social reconstruction in value orientation, over-motivation and unskilled motor function ; athletic sports with value orientation on learning process and safety prevention training ; unskilled motor functions with value orientation in ecological integration and disobedience to teacher's directions ; winter accidents with mastery of disciplinary lesson in value orientation. In conclusion, the research indicates that physical education teacher's value orientation according to demographical variables didn't show any significant difference, while one according to safety accident prevention activities showed significant difference. Besides, physical education teachers' value orientation is not related to safety accident prevention activities, but the relationship between value orientation and actual conditions of safety accidents showed correlations according to each variable. Especially, teachers with lower value orientation in social reconstruction experienced more safety accidents. Therefore, physical education teachers can manage physical education class more safely with more emphasis on value orientation in social reconstruction.

철학적 관점에서의 태권도 겨루기 학생 선수 정신력에 관한 연구 (A Study on Student Players' Mental Strength in Taekwondo Competition from a Philosophical Perspective)

  • 본 연구는 학생 태권도 겨루기 선수들의 정신력이 태권도 겨루기 경기력에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 실시하였다. 연구 대상은 대한태권도협회에 태권도 겨루기 선수로 등록이 되어 있는 중학교, 고등학교, 대학교 343명을 대상으로 편의표집 방법을 사용하였으며, 전문가 회의를 통해 Loehr가 제작한 Mental Toughness Test 검사도구를 사용하였다. 자료분석은 일반적 특성에 따른 정신력의 하위요인별 수준을 분석하기 위하여 t-test, 일원배치분산을 실시하였고, 집단 간 다중비교를 위하여 Schéffe test를 통해 사후검증을 실시하였다. 정신력의 하위요인별 수준과 경기력을 분석하기 위하여 상관분석 및 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 태권도 겨루기 학생 선수들의 일반적 특성인 성별과 연령에 따른 정신력 차이에서 정신력 관련 하위요인 중 자신감, 각성 수준 조절, 시각화 및 심상조절, 동기 수준, 긍정적 에너지, 태도 조절은 성별과 연령에서 유의한 차이가 나타났고, 인지된 경기력에서는 연령과 운동 경력에서 유의한 차이가 나타나 결과적으로 태권도 겨루기 학생 선수들의 경우 심리적 훈련 이외에 연령과 다양한 경험이 정신력과 관련 하위요소에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 태권도 겨루기 학생 선수들 중 특히 중학교 고등학교 시기에는 다양한 시합의 경험과 훈련 시 심리적을 동반하여 시합에서의 결과적인 자신 평가에 대한 두려움을 이겨낼 수 있도록 지도와 훈련이 제공되어야 하겠다.
