The importance and role of pre-/in-service inspection(PSI/ISI) for nuclear power plant(NPP) components are intimately related to plant design, safety, reliability, operation, etc. In this paper, for an effective and efficient management of large amounts of PSI/ISI data in NPPs, an intelligent database program(WS-IDPIN) for PSI/ISI data management of NPP was developed. WS-IDPIN program enables the prompt extraction of previously conducted PSI/ISI conditions and results so that the time-consuming data management, painstaking data processing and analysis in the past are avoided. Furthermore, development of ISI UT auto flaw evaluation and acceptance module based on ASME Code Sec. XI were presented. This module can be used for any angle beam examination from flat plate to spherical shapes as selected by the proper azimuthal angle. This program can be further developed as a unique PSI/ISI data management expert system.
We present a new scheme for optical encryption of a binary image. In our method, the original binary data page is first divided into two identical pages. In each data page, the “on” and “off” pixels are represented by two discrete phases that are 90° apart. The first page corresponds to the phase conjugation of the second page, and vice versa. In addition, the wavefront of the two data pages is changed simultaneously from planar to spherical, for better encryption. The wavefront modification is represented by an extra phase shift, which is a function of position on the wavefront. In this way the two separate pages are both encrypted, and therefore the pages cannot be distinguished in a CCD. If the first page is used as an encrypted data page, then the second page is used as the decryption key, and vice versa. The decryption can be done by simply combining the two encrypted data pages. It is shown in our experiment that encryption and decryption can be fully accomplished in the optical domain.

This paper presents the ASF(Additional Secondary Factor) modeling of DGPS beacon signal. In addition to DGPS's original purpose, the feasibility to utilize DGPS system for timing and navigation has been studied. For timing and navigation, the positioning system must know the accurate time delay of signal traveling from the transmitter to receiver. Then the delay can be used to compute the user position. The DGPS beacon signal transmits the data using medium frequency, which travels through the surface and cause the additional delay rather than the speed of light according to conductivities and elevations of the irregular terrain. We introduce the modeling of additional delay(ASF) and present the results of implementation. The similar approach is Locan-C. Loran-C has been widely used as the maritime location system and was enhanced to E-Loran(Enhanced Loran). E-Loran system uses the ASF estimation method and is able to provide the more precise location service. However there was rarely research on this area in Korea. Hence, we introduce the ASF and its estimation model. With the comparison of the same condition and data from the original Monteath model and ASF estimation data of Loran system respectively, we guarantee that the implementation is absolutely perfect. For further works, we're going to apply the ASF estimation model to Korean DGPS beacon system with the Korean terrain data.

The development of polishing technology has enabled the production of injection molds with high quality surfaces and shapes. For products such as mobile phones which require high quality performance the use of plastic materials has many constraints such as shrinkage and deflection. The purpose of the current research is to use reverse engineering in order to find and analyze the data of a selected aspherical lens and then creating a process to design an improved lens. Additionally, the improved lenses are subject to molding analysis. In order to solve this problem, the lens construction program, Zemax, was used to analyze and optimize performance. In the case of optimization, the object was to eliminate spherical aberration and to find good MTF data. The result of the optimization data was similar to the MTF data found from a random lens. Specific resin and analysis conditions were selected and CAD modeling was done to enhance the injection molding analysis.

A seismic survey for gas hydrate have performed over the East sea by the KIGAM since 1997. General indicator of gas hydrate in seismic data is commonly inferred from the BSR(Bottom Simulating Reflector) that occurred parallel to the sea floor, amplitude decrease at the top of the BSR, amplitude blanking at the bottom of the BSR, decrease of the interval velocity and the reflection phase reversal at the BSR. In this paper we had analyzed optimum parameters of the field data to detect the 9as hydrate. Shot delay correction is applied 95ms, spherical divergence correction is applied velocity library 3, bandpass filter is applied 25-30-115-120Hz deconvolution operator length is applied 60ms, lag is 6ms and accurate velocity analysis NMO correction, stack is performed. Geobit 2.11.0 developed by the KIGAM was used for all data processing. Processing results say that the BSR occurred parallel to the sea floor were shown at 3,150m/s of two way travel time from the sea floor through shot point 5,000-5,610, and identified the interval velocity decrease around BSR and the reflection phase reversal corresponding to the reflection at the sea floor.
Purpose: The accommodative response and the near horizontal phoria were examined with additional spherical power to analyze the stimulus and response AC/A ratios that suggest reference data for the binocular vision. Methods: The open-field autorefractometer (Nvision-K 5001, Shin nippon) and modified thorington method (MIM card; Muscle Imbalance Measure card, Bernell) at 40 cm were utilized to measure the accommodative response and the near horizontal phoria for 81 persons ($20.89{\pm}1.92$ years old) with additional spherical power. The stimulus and the response AC/A ratios were calculated by gradient AC/A method. Results: The exophoria group showed the highest accommodative response ($1.92{\pm}0.26D$) at 40 cm, followed by orthophoria group and esophoria group($1.72{\pm}0.26D$ and $1.62{\pm}0.42D$, respectively) Meanwhile, the esophoria group showed the biggest ocular deviation for the near ($23.24{\Delta}$) followed by the orthophoria group and exophoria group ($19.76{\Delta}$ and $15.14{\Delta}$, respectively). The biggest difference of the stimulus and the response AC/A ratios was $1.72{\Delta}$ for the exophoria group with -2.00 D, while the one was $3.43{\Delta}$ for the esophoria group with +1.00 D. There was a significant difference between AC/A ratios for the exophoria group with -2.00 D, -1.00 D and the esophoria group with +3.00 D, +2.00D, +1.00D and -1.00D. Conclusions: The difference between stimulus and response AC/A was greater when increased minus spherical power for the exophoria group, while it was greater when increased plus spherical power for the esophoria group. Furthermore, the difference for the esophoria group was a greater than the one for the exophoria group.
Purpose : To find out the reliability of autorefractometer after laser refractive surgery Methods : We measured and compared spherical and cylinder powers of those undergone LASEK surgery with 1.0 of naked vision after at least 3 months of the surgery with an autorefractometer(CANON Full Auto Ref-Keratometer RK-F1, Japan) and a retinoscope(Streak Retinoscope 18200, WelchAllyn, USA), and also applied spherical equivalent powers. The refractive status before surgery was divided into high, medium, and low myopia according to the results measured using an autorefractometer, and then analyzed again the reliability of the autorefractometer after surgery according to the preoperative refractive status. The agreement of two methods was identified using Bland-Altman(Bland-Altman limits of agreement(LoA)). Results : After the surgery, when comparing spherical, cylinder and equivalent powers in the whole data measured by autorefractometry and retinoscopy significant differences were found(p<0.01). According to the degree of refractive errors, all sort of refractive errors was shown significantly different(p<0.01) except for cylinder power of the medium myopia. In general, the refractive errors especially spherical and spherical equivalent powers by autorefractometry were shown a myopic trend from -0.38 D to -0.53 D. On the other hand, it was shown a hyperopic trend of approximately +0.30 D using retinoscopy. In comparison of two objective refractions, it was shown a myopic trend as $-0.51{\pm}0.45D$(LoA +0.36 D ~ -1.39 D) and compatible. Conclusion : Even though it would be positive in terms of compatibility of the methods, it is necessary that the glasses should be prescribed by subjective refraction since autorefractometry is shown myopic in those undergone the surgery and suffering from myopic regression.
Purpose: For better understanding refractive error in Korean children and teenagers, a follow-up study on the changes of refractive error was performed in 1~13-year-old subjects for ten years. Methods: Among the people who had visited an ophthalmologic hospital in Seoul to examine the visual acuity and to correct refractive error from 2000 to 2010 years, 223 subjects (364 eyes) having the corrected visual acuity over 0.7 had been investigated the changes of spherical equivalent power of the cycloplegic clinical refraction and manifest clinical refraction from the accumulated medical record data for ten years. Results: The changes of spherical equivalent power for ten years in 1 to 13 years old were shown the highest change at 7-year-old. And annual change of spherical equivalent power was shown the highest change at from 9-year-old to 10-year-old (-0.64${\pm}$0.64 D) followed by from 8-year-old to 9-year-old (-0.64${\pm}$0.81 D). Conclusions: The changes of refractive error for Korean children and teenagers aged 1 to 13 years in an optometric practice were shown the tendency to proceeding to myopia with age, especially the largest increase at from 7-year-old to 10-year-old, and this period is important for vision care.

Digital map is utilized for an effective display of the distributions of the hydrogeological variables such as water table height(hydraulic head) and log-transmissivity(lnT) in north Pohang, KyungBug. Specifically the geostatistical method kriging is used to construct the distributions in an unconfined aquifer from a finite set of measured data. The experimental variograms for both the head and lnT suggest spherical models with nugget of 0 and range of 6km. The kriged results by using these variograms show that the head decreases primarily from the west to the east with a large peak in the north-western part and lnT is at the maximum level in the central part with outwardly decreasing trend. The constructed delineation is also used to calculate the flow field in the region. Finite differences with second order consistency are used to calculate the fluxes in the east(x) and north(y) across a vertical cross-section of unit width and height equal to the thickness of the wet zone in the aquifer. It is demonstrated that the flow is dominantly in the east with diverging trend on the eastern hillside of the water table peak. A few convergent spots also appear.

Background: Relationships among portable scanning mobility particle sizer (P-SMPS), condensation particle counter (CPC), and surface area monitor (SAM), which are different metric measurement devices, were investigated, and two widely used research grade (RG)-SMPSs were compared to harmonize the measurement protocols. Methods: Pearson correlation analysis was performed to compare the relation between P-SMPS, CPC, and SAM and two common RG-SMPS. Results: For laboratory and engineered nanoparticle (ENP) workplaces, correlation among devices showed good relationships. Correlation among devices was fair in unintended nanoparticle (UNP)-emitting workplaces. This is partly explained by the fact that shape of particles was not spherical, although calibration of sampling instruments was performed using spherical particles and the concentration was very high at the UNP workplaces to allow them to aggregate more easily. Chain-like particles were found by scanning electron microscope in UNP workplaces. The CPC or SAM could be used as an alternative instrument instead of SMPS at the ENP-handling workplaces. At the UNP workplaces, where concentration is high, real-time instruments should be used with caution. There are significant differences between the two SMPSs tested. TSI SMPS showed about 20% higher concentration than the Grimm SMPS in all workplaces. Conclusions: For nanoparticle measurement, CPC and SAM might be useful to find source of emission at laboratory and ENP workplaces instead of P-SMPS in the first stage. An SMPS is required to measure with high accuracy. Caution is necessary when comparing data from different nanoparticle measurement devices and RG-SMPSs.
