SAVEX15 실험 해역에서 측정된 전달손실 자료를 이용한 음파 전달 조건의 변환점 추정 (Estimation of a transition point of sound propagation condition using transmission loss data measured in SAVEX15)

  • 천해 환경에서 음파 전달은 경계면에 의해 구형 분산에서 원통형 분산으로 음파 전달 조건이 전환되는데, 이 지점을 음파 전달 조건의 변환점 (transition point)이라고 정의한다. 이론적으로 거리에 따른 전달손실을 이용하여 음파 전달 조건의 변환점을 계산할 수가 있으며, 본 논문에서는 포물선 방정식 기반 음향모델을 이용하여 Pekeris 도파관에서 송 수신기가 수층의 중심에 위치한 경우 전달손실을 모의한 후 변환점을 도출하였다. 계산된 변환점은 수층과 퇴적층의 음속비로 계산된 임계각으로 추정한 임계거리와 비교, 분석되었으며, 동일한 환경에서 수층에 음향채널이 존재하는 경우와 음원 수심 변화에 따른 변환점 변동성을 확인하였다. 최종적으로 2015년 5월, 제주도 서남쪽으로 약 65 km 떨어진 SAVEX15(Shallow Water Acoustic Variability EXperiment 2015) 실험에서 획득한 천해 환경에서의 거리에 따른 저 중주파수 음파 전달 실험의 전달손실 자료를 이용하여 실험 해역에서의 음파 전달 조건 변환점을 도출하였으며, 이를 실험해역의 해양환경과 비교를 통하여 음전달 특성을 파악하였다.

각막형상, 각막난시 및 렌즈 피팅상태와 구면 RGP렌즈의 중심안정위치와의 상관 관계 (A Relationship between Corneal Type, Corneal Astigmatism and Lens Fitting States and the Stable Centration of Spherical RGP Lens)

  • 목적: 각막형상이나 각막난시도, 피팅상태가 구면 RGP 렌즈를 피팅함에 있어서 각막 중앙안정위치(stable centration)에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 밝히고자 하였다. 방법: 각막난시가 0.00~2.75 D인 원형 각막 29안 및 대칭나비형 각막 45안을 대상으로 RGP 렌즈를 양호한 피팅상태, 스팁한 피팅상태, 플랫한 피팅상태로 착용시키고 각막에서의 렌즈 위치를 촬영하여 분석하였다. 결과: 구면 RGP 렌즈의 수직방향 렌즈 안정 위치는 모든 경우에 아래 쪽으로 중심이탈되었으며 중심이탈 정도는 일관성이 없었다. 수평방향의 렌즈 안정위치는 렌즈의 베이스커브가 커짐에 따라 귀 쪽으로 렌즈 중심이 이탈되는 정도가 통계적으로 유의하게 커졌으며 각막형상과 난시도, 피팅상태에 따라 렌즈 중심의 이탈 정도에 차이가 있었다. 동일한 난시도를 가진 원형 각막은 대칭나비형 각막에 비해 렌즈 중심이 귀쪽방향으로의 이탈 정도가 더 컸다. 결론: 구면 RGP 렌즈의 피팅상태, 난시도 및 각막형상에 따라 중심안정위치가 달라지며 이를 고려하면 RGP 렌즈 처방 시 성공률을 높일 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

  • Alpha track analysis for the determination of the trace amount of alpha emitting nuclides in a very small particle was performed as an efficient and powerful technique during safeguard inspection. Metal particles with well-defined spherical shape, size and isotopic compositions as a reference material were used to correlate the number of tracks or track diameter with an isotopic composition eventually to identify the uranium enrichment in the environmental swipe samples. Slopes in the number of tracks versus the exposure time curve provide a simple insight into the uranium enrichment of an unknown particle. Low enriched uranium metal particles result in slopes still steeper than the depleted or natural uranium metal particles. In addition, a linear relationship between track diameter and particle size Is thought to be a useful first stage analytical tool as an efficient and convenient inspection guide. The significance of the simple linear model was also judged using the usual statistical tests.

Simulation of the Through-Focus Modulation Transfer Functions According to the Change of Spherical Aberration in Pseudophakic Eyes

  • To evaluate the effects of spherical aberration (SA) correction on optical quality in pseudophakic eyes, we simulated the optical quality of the human eye by computation of the modulation transfer function (MTF). We reviewed the medical records of patients who underwent cataract surgery in Asan Medical Center, retrospectively. A Zywave aberrometer was used to measure optical aberrations at 1-12 postoperative months in patients with AR40e intraocular lens implants. The MTF was calculated for a 5 mm pupil from measured wavefront aberrations. The area under the MTF curve (aMTF) was analyzed and the maximal aMTF was calculated while changing the SA ($-0.2{\sim}+0.2{\mu}m$) and the defocus (-2.0 ~ +2.0 D). Sixty-four eyes in 51 patients were examined. The maximal aMTF was $6.61{\pm}2.16$ at a defocus of $-0.25{\pm}0.66D$ with innate SA, and $7.64{\pm}2.63$ at a defocus of $0.08{\pm}0.53D$ when the SA was 0 (full correction of SA). With full SA correction, the aMTF increased in 47 eyes (73.4%; Group 1) and decreased in 17 eyes (26.6%; Group 2). There were statistically significant differences in Z(3, -1) (vertical coma; P = 0.01) and Z(4, 4) (tetrafoil; P = 0.04) between the groups. The maximal aMTF was obtained at an SA of $+0.01{\mu}m$ in Group 1 and an SA of $+0.13{\mu}m$ in Group 2. Optical quality can be improved by full correction of SA in most pseudophakic eyes. However, residual SA might provide benefits in eyes with significant radially asymmetric aberrations.

  • 발전소의 터빈 로터강의 수명을 평가하기 위하여 $630^{\circ}C$에서 등온 열처리된 7가지의 서로 다른 시편을 준비하였다. 탄소강, 스테인레스강 등의 금속재료의 유동특성을 평가하기 위하여 개발된 구형압입 시험을 통하여 서로 다르게 열화된 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V강의 기계적 물성을 측정하고 이를 인장시험에서의 결과와 비교하였다. 유동특성을 결정짓는 요소로 재료항복기울기와 구속인자지수를 사용하였다. 이는 가공경화지수의 변화가 매우 작고 불규칙적으로 나타났기 때문이다. 또한 재료항복기울기의 영향을 고려하였을 때 구속인자지수의 영향은 적은 것으로 나타났다.

  • 기존 단축 크리프시험에서는 천이 크리프의 영향을 무시하고 정상상태 크리프만을 고려하기 때문에 실제 크리프 특성을 나타내지 못한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 천이크리프를 고려한 압입 크리프 물성평가법을 제시한다. 다양한 재료에 대해 구형압입시험 전산모사를 이용해 크리프 물성변화에 따른 거동을 살펴보고, 크리프 특성을 무차원 변수들의 회귀식으로 표현한다. 이를 토대로 천이크리프를 고려한 압입 크리프 물성평가 프로그램을 생성했다. 제시한 물성평가 프로그램을 통해 압입 하중-변위 곡선으로부터 크리프지수, 계수값들을 각각 1.1%, 2.3% 오차범위에서 예측할 수 있다.

  • Indentation and small punch tests are very powerful methods to monitor the materials reliability since they are very simple, easy and almost non-destructive. First, recently-developed continuous indentation test can provide the more material properties such as hardness, elastic modulus, yield strength, work-hardening exponent, etc., than the conventional hardness test. In our study, the true stress-strain curve was derived from the indentation load-depth curve for spherical indentation. In detail, the strain was able to be obtained from plastic depth/contact radius ratio, and the flow stress was from mean contact pressure through the analysis of elastic-plastic indentation stress field. Secondly, the small punch test was studied to evaluate the fracture toughness and defomation properties such as elastic modulus and yield strength. Like the indentation test, this test can be applied without severe damage of the target structure.

인공적혈구의 제조 및 이용 (Synthesis and Use of Artificial Red Cells)

  • Hemoglobin was purified from the outdated human red blood cells. Phospholipids were purified from egg yolk and stored in chloroform. The artificial red blood cells (hemosome) were prepared by encapsulation of hemoglobin with phospholipid mutilayer using rotary vacuum evaporator. The shape and size of hemosomes were measured by phase contrast microscope and image analyzer. The function of hemosomes was tested by measuring oxygen dissociation curve using blood gas analyzer. In order to test whether hemosomes are useful as blood substitute they were infused into rats of which one third of total blood were drawn. The results obtained are summarized at followings. 1) Hemosomes were spherical shape and their mean diameter was 0.7 um. 2) Oxygen dissociation curve of hemosomes showed the same figure as that of normal red blood cells. 3) All rats given 1/3 transfusion with hemosomes survived until sacrificed whereas three of four rats given 1/3 transfusion with saline died within 1 hour and the rest of them died within 24 hours.

  • Continuous indentation test is a very powerful method to monitor the materials reliability since it is very simple, easy and almost non-destructive. It can provide material properties such as elastic modulus, yield strength, work-hardening exponent, etc., than the conventional hardness test. In our study, the true stress-strain curve is derived from the indentation load-depth curve. For this, average indentation strain is defined and the flow stress is obtained from the analysis of the indentation stress field. The residual stress is analyzed from the variation of the indentation behavior with the applied residual stress. And the estimation of fracture characteristic is tried by considering the conventional fracture toughness modeling and the stress/strain state under the spherical indenter.

차량용 스프링강재의 압축잔류응력이 부식에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Compressive Residual Stress of Spring Steel for Vehicle on Corrosion)

  • Shot peening can be defined as the process of work hardening of the surface of components by means of propelled stream of spherical shot. Benefits due to shot peening are increase in resistance to fatigue, stress corrosion cracking, fretting, galling, erosion and closing of pores. In this study, the influence of shot peening on the corrosion was investigated on spring steel immersed in $3.5\%\;NaCl$. The immersion test was performed on the two kinds of specimens. Corrosion potential, polarization curve, residual stress and etc. were investigated from experimental results. From test results, the effect of shot peening on the corrosion was evaluated. The important results of the experimental study on the effects of shot peened spring steels on the environment corrosion are as follows; In case of corrosion potential, shot peened specimen shows more activated negative direction as compared with parent metal. Surface of specimen, which is treated with the shot peened, is placed as more activated state against inner base metal. It can cause the anti-corrosion effect on the base metal.
