파킨슨환자의 보행 속도에 따른 보행 양상 변화 (The change of gait pattern according to different walking speeds in a patient with Parkinson disease)

  • ■ Objectives The goal of this study was to observe the gait patterns from a patient with Parkinson disease under three different walking speeds. ■ Methods The patient walked on a treadmill and we measured gait parameters using a treadmill gait analysis system for 2 minutes. The Parkinson patients walked under three different conditions, first, at the preferred walking speed, second, at slower speed than the preferred walking speed, and, third, at faster speed than the preferred walking speed. ■ Results In terms of temporal gait parameters, as speed of treadmill increased, stance phase and total double support decreased, and swing phase increased. In terms of spatial parameters, as speed of treadmill increased, step and stride length increased. In terms of kinetic parameters, max pressure increased as speed of treadmill increased. ■ Conclusion According to different walking speeds, some gait parameters of spatiotemporal and kinetic was changed.

도심내 안전속도 "5030"시행에 따른 변속차로 설치기준에 관한 기초연구 (A Pilot Study on Installation Criteria of Speed Change Lanes according to the Implementation of Safety Speed "5030" in the Urban Area)

  • 도시부도로에서 변속차로는 도로가 연결되는 지점에 설치되어 상대속도를 낮추도록 함으로써 교통소통을 원활하게 하고 있다. 그러나 도심내 안전 속도 "5030"시행에 따른 제한속도 30 km/h의 경우 기준이 모호하여 변속차로 설치에 대한 지적이 나오고 있다. 본 연구는 변속차로에 대한 이론적 고찰 후 안전속도 "5030" 정책 시행 예정 구간을 중심으로 변속차로 통행패턴을 사례조사를 실시하였다. 현장조사 후 도로조건 및 교통 조건 등에 따라 주도로의 통행 속도별 통행 패턴을 분석한 결과 안전속도 "5030"시행에 따른 변속차로의 실효성을 분석하였다. 본 연구수행을 통해 제시된 속도별 변속차로 설치기준은, 통행속도 30 km/h 구간인 경우는 변속차로를 미설치 하도록 하고, 50 km/h인 경우는 반드시 설치토록 하는 기준을 제시하였다. 향후 도시지역에서 다른 시설의 연결에 대한 공학적 기준을 정립할 때 참고할 수 있을 것으로 판단되며, 변속차로 설치 및 회전반경 확대를 통한 속도별 원활한 교통소통 및 안전성을 확보하고 개인의 사유재산권 행사에 대한 불필요한 제약을 최소화하는데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 최근 새롭게 보급되는 휴대기기(스마트폰, 울트라북, 태블릿 PC)로 인하여 고용량과 빠른 속도를 원하는 소비자가 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 Flash Memory의 수요도 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. Flash Memory는 NAND형과 NOR형으로 구분되어 있다. NAND형 Flash Memory는 NOR형 Flash Memory에 비해 속도는 느리지만 가격이 저렴하다. 그렇기 때문에 NAND형 Flash Memory는 Mobile 시장에서 많이 사용되어지고 있다. 그래서 Flash Memory Test를 위한 Fault 검출은 메우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 Fault 검출 향상을 위한 NAND형 Flash Memory의 Pattern Test를 위한 PMBIST를 제안한다.

Fast Face Gender Recognition by Using Local Ternary Pattern and Extreme Learning Machine

  • Human face gender recognition requires fast image processing with high accuracy. Existing face gender recognition methods used traditional local features and machine learning methods have shortcomings of low accuracy or slow speed. In this paper, a new framework for face gender recognition to reach fast face gender recognition is proposed, which is based on Local Ternary Pattern (LTP) and Extreme Learning Machine (ELM). LTP is a generalization of Local Binary Pattern (LBP) that is in the presence of monotonic illumination variations on a face image, and has high discriminative power for texture classification. It is also more discriminate and less sensitive to noise in uniform regions. On the other hand, ELM is a new learning algorithm for generalizing single hidden layer feed forward networks without tuning parameters. The main advantages of ELM are the less stringent optimization constraints, faster operations, easy implementation, and usually improved generalization performance. The experimental results on public databases show that, in comparisons with existing algorithms, the proposed method has higher precision and better generalization performance at extremely fast learning speed.

RZ형 초고속 데이터에 대한 전광파장변환기 (All Optical Wavelength Converter for Ultra High-Speed RZ Pattern Data)

  • 일반적으로 10GHz이상의 초고속 전송에서는 전송 성능면에서 RZ 형태가 NRZ 형태보다 우수하다고 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 광섬유 루프미러내의 편광제어기를 이용하여 SOA에서의 XPM을 조절할 수 있는 RZ 데이터를 위한 파장변환기를 제안하였으며, 이의 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 출력을 예측하였고, 10Gbps RZ 데이터에 대한 실험을 통해 이를 확인하였다. 제안된 구조는 기존의 XPM 구조에 비하여 보다 저가의 편광 의존형 SOA를 하나만 필요로 하며, 입력 데이터에 대해 반전 및 비반전된 파장변환 출력신호를 두개의 출력에서 동시에 얻을 수 있는 장점이 있다.

CUDA를 이용한 3D 측정 속도 향상 (Improving 3D Measurement Speed using CUDA)

  • 최근 3D 측정을 위해서 Fringe pattern을 이용하는 방법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 이는 측정할 물체에 pattern을 뿌려 얻은 위상 값을 이용하여 측정하는 방법이다. 이를 위해선 위상 값을 계산하고 높이를 계산하는 등의 많은 연산을 요구 한다. 많은 연산량에 따라 시간이 많이 걸리고 있으며, 본 논문에서는 이 시간을 감소시키기 위해서 엔비디아의 CUDA를 이용한 방법을 제시한다. 또 위상 값과 높이를 계산하는 방법을 소개하고 CPU 버전과 CUDA 버전 사이의 비교를 통해 정확한 시간 차이를 보인다. 이 방법을 이용하면 같은 연산을 더 짧은 시간 내에 처리할 수 있어 같은 시간에 많은 부품을 검사할 수 있기 때문에 매우 효과적이라 할 수 있다.

  • With the opening of 1st phase and 2nd phase in Gyeongbu High Speed Line, KTX(The Korea Train Express) and Sancheon(2nd generation of High Speed Train) are operating commercially on entire line. Gyeongbu High Speed Line can be separated as several sections. In this entire line, a few types of train has operating by it's own pattern. However, commercial speed of the line compared with the maximum speed of Train is rather slow. Through this study, I found the reason of the slow speed on the Catenary system and suggested a solution.

Numerical investigation on effects of rotor control strategy and wind data on optimal wind turbine blade shape

  • Recently, the horizontal axis rotor performance optimizer (HARP_Opt) tool was developed in the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, USA. This innovative tool is becoming more popular in the wind turbine industry and in the field of academic research. HARP_Optwas developed on the basis of two fundamental modules, namely, WT_Perf, a performance evaluator computer code using the blade element momentum theory; and a genetic algorithm module, which is used as an optimizer. A pattern search algorithm was more recently incorporated to enhance the optimization capability, especially the calculation time and consistency of the solutions. The blade optimization is an aspect that is highly dependent on experience and requires significant consideration on rotor control strategies, wind data, and generator type. In this study, the effects of rotor control strategies including fixed speed and fixed pitch, variable speed and fixed pitch, fixed speed and variable pitch, and variable speed and variable pitch algorithms on optimal blade shapes and rotor performance are investigated using optimized blade designs. The effects of environmental wind data and the objective functions used for optimization are also quantitatively evaluated using the HARP_Opt tool. Performance indices such as annual energy production, thrust, torque, and roof-flap moment forces are compared.

  • Cross flow fan system is widely used for various applications, especially for the air-moving device of heaters, air-conditioners, and air-curtains. Although there are efforts for the optimization of cross-flow fan flow path with different methods of approach, it is still being investigated by many researchers through experimentally and/or theoretically, because the flow pattern of the cross flow fan is not stereotyped. This paper presents some results from numerical experiments for the optimization of the flow path through a cross-flow fan to be applied to indoor wall-mounted room heater. Two dimensional analysis has been applied to a specific fan system including inlet and diffuser outlet. Flow characteristics art presented and discussed for two different flow path at three different operating conditions represented by rotational speed(800, 1,000, 1,200 rpm) of the In. According to the simulated results for the specific fan system under consideration, it could be found that the flow pattern resembles each other at different rotational speed (to say from 800 rpm to 1,200 rpm) for a fixed flow path, while the secondary flows mostly absorbs the speed effects. By changing the flow path significant increase in volume flow rate is estimated upto 2.65 at the same rotational speed. According to the present experience, fan flow path design can be performed more efficiently by incorporating this type of numerical experiments combined with the model tests.

하이브리드 타입 에너지 저장장치의 교류 고속철도 적용 (Applying Hybrid Type Energy Storage System in AC High Speed Railway)

  • In case of DC railway, value of ESS(Energy Storage System) is already approved. Whereas AC railway system, there are a lot of differences such as system design and operation pattern. Therefore there is doubt about AC ESS usefulness. Especially, regenerative energy can return to the source. So in case of AC 25kV system, it is necessary to consider different operation algorithm compare to DC railway system. In this paper ESS which is installed in AC high-speed railway was introduced. Power consumption pattern of High speed trains were analyzed, proper storage material was reviewed and operation algorithm was suggested. Super capacitor and Battery was used with hybrid type. Super capacitor was used to handle short term energy movement because of its prompt response and battery was used to handle long term energy movement because of its high energy density. Also in case of operation algorithm, phase control method was upgraded compare to voltage magnitude detection method.
