  • The compensation algorithm for localization using the least-squires method in NLOS(Non Line of Sight) environment is suggested and the performance of the algorithm is analyzed in this paper. In order to improve the localization correction rate of the moving node, 1) the distance value of the moving node that is moving as an constant speed is measured by SDS-TWR(Symmetric Double-Sided Two-Way Ranging); 2) the location of the moving node is measured using the triangulation scheme; 3) the location of the moving node measured in 2) is compensated using the least-squares method. By the experiments in NLOS environment, it is confirmed that the average localization error rates are measured to ${\pm}1m$, ${\pm}0.2m$ and ${\pm}0.1m$ by the triangulation scheme, the Kalman filter and the least-squires method respectively. As a result, we can see that the localization error rate of the suggested algorithm is higher than that of the triangulation as average 86.0% and the Kalman filter as average 16.0% respectively.

  • This paper compares the characteristics of three different algorithms for three-dimensional (3D) magnetotelluric (MT) modeling. These methods are developed by Mackie et al. (1994), Sasaki (1999) and Nam et al. (2007). The first and second methods are based on the finite difference method (FDM), while the last one the finite-element method (FEM). MT responses, apparent resistivities and phases, for a COMMEMI 3D-2 model show a good agreement with integral equation solutions and only minor discrepancies are found over the anomalous bodies in the 3D model. The computation time of the two methods based on FDM is short and the static divergence correction contributes to speed up. The FEM modeling scheme is accurate but slow.

  • We designed Average Current Control PFC IC which has make the average value of boost inductor current became the shape of sine wave. Designed IC has fixed frequency of 75kHz to meet EMI standard requirement. And also RC compensation loop has been designed into the error amp and the current amp, in order that it has wide bandwidth for high speed control. And we use the oscillator which generates by square wave and triangle wave, and add to UVLO, OVP, OCP, TSD which is in order to operate stability. We simulated by using Spectre of Cadence to verify the unity power factor function and various protection circuits and fabricated in a $1{\mu}m$ High Voltage(20V) CMOS process.

  • PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to evaluate effect of different surface treatment methods on the bond strength between aged composite-resin core and luting agent. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Seventy-five resin composites and also seventy-five zirconia ceramic discs were prepared. 60 composite samples were exposed to thermal aging (10,000 cycles, 5 to $55^{\circ}C$) and different surface treatment. All specimens were separated into 5 groups (n=15): 1) Intact specimens 2) Thermal aging-air polishing 3) Thermal aging- Er:YAG laser irradiation 4) Thermal aging- acid etching 5) Thermal-aging. All specimens were bonded to the zirconia discs with resin cement and fixed to universal testing machine and bond strength testing loaded to failure with a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. The fractured surface was classified as adhesive failure, cohesive failure and adhesive-cohesive failure. The bond strength data was statistically compared by the Kruskal-Wallis method complemented by the Bonferroni correction Mann-Whitney U test. The probability level for statistical significance was set at ${\alpha}$=.05. RESULTS. Thermal aging and different surface treatment methods have significant effect on the bond strength between composite-resin cores and luting-agent (P<.05). The mean baseline bond strength values ranged between $7.07{\pm}2.11$ and $26.05{\pm}6.53$ N. The highest bond strength of $26.05{\pm}6.53$ N was obtained with Group 3. Group 5 showed the lowest value of bond strength. CONCLUSION. Appropriate surface treatment method should be applied to aged composite resin cores or aged-composites restorations should be replaced for the optimal bond strength and the clinical success.

  • Cable modems typically are implemented by a forward error correction(FEC) scheme. The ITU-T Recommendation J-38 Annex B specifies using 64- and 256- quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and extended RS coding scheme. In implementing the cable modem, there are some problems to fabricate and fitting on FPGA chip. First, many clocks are needed in implementing cable modem because of different code rate and different modulation types. To reduce the number of clocks, we use the two memories, which are different clock speed for reading and writing data. Second, this system lost the bit-synchronization and frame-synchronization in decoder, the system recognize that all data is error. This paper solves the problems by using simple 5-stage registers and unique sync-word. Based on solutions for about problems, the cable modem is fabricated on FPGA chip name as Vertex II pro xc2vp30-5 by Xilinx, and we confirmed the effectiveness of the results.

  • There have been increased concerns on mobile stratospheric communication system(SCS) for the purpose of advanced service of personal and high speed communication systems. In fact, this SCS is considered and studied for IMT-2000 service by ITU. Although, it is important to make accurate channel model for prediction of the SCS performance, there is no measured channel data in this system. Thus, in this paper, we estimate the performance of SCS bye use of channel model provided by Corazza(2) and modified by You(3). And also, the effects of channel codings on system performance are analyzed by deriving bit error performance based on realistic Rician log-normal fading channel models. The performance results are divided into three kinds of areas with three kinds of elevation angles 20$^\cire$, 45$^\cire$, and 80$^\cire$. And also the effects of forward error correction channel codings on system performance with Hamming(7,4), HCH( IS,7) and convolutional code of constraint length 3 and code rate R=1/2.

  • The low-density parity check(LDPC) code is being widely used due to its outperformed error-correction ability. The decoder of the quasi-cyclic LDPC(QC-LDPC) codes, a kind of LDPC codes, requires a multi-size cyclic shifter(MSCS) performing rotation of various sizes. The MSCS can be implemented with a Benes network, which requires a $3{\times}3$ switch if the number of data to be rotated is a multiple of 3. This paper proposes a control signal generation with lower complexity and a faster $3{\times}3$ switch. For the experiment, the proposed schemes are applied to the MSCS of an IEEE 802.16e WiMAX QC-LDPC code decoder. The result shows that the delay is reduced by about 8.7%.

  • The goal of this paper is to provide performance improvement and stability for satellite data correction of some distortions due to cloud or radiance through distributed processing on cluster. To do this, we proposed and implemented SGE(Sun Grid Engine) based distributed processing methods using local storages and a status table. In the verification, the experiment result revealed that the proposed system on seven nodes improved the processing speed by 138.81% as compare to the existing system and provided good stability as well. This result showed that the proposed distributed processing work is more appropriate to process CPU bound jobs than I/O bound jobs. We expect that the proposed system will give scientists improved analysis performance in various fields and near-real time analysis services.

  • Due to recent improvements in computer processing speed and image processing technology, researches are being actively carried out to combine information from camera with existing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and dead reckoning. In this study, developed a vision-based positioning assistant algorithm to estimate the distance to the object from stereo images. In addition, GNSS/on-board vehicle sensor/vision based positioning algorithm is developed by combining vision based positioning algorithm with existing positioning algorithm. For the performance analysis, the velocity calculated from the actual driving test was used for the navigation solution correction, simulation tests were performed to analyse the effects of velocity precision. As a result of analysis, it is confirmed that about 4% of position accuracy is improved when vision information is added compared to existing GNSS/on-board based positioning algorithm.

  • Objectives: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the push-out bond strength of a novel calcium silicate-based root repair material-BIOfactor MTA to root canal dentin in comparison with white MTA-Angelus (Angelus) and Biodentine (Septodont). Materials and Methods: The coronal parts of 12 central incisors were removed and the roots were embedded in acrylic resin blocks. Midroot dentin of each sample was horizontally sectioned into 1.1 mm slices and 3 slices were obtained from each root. Three canal-like standardized holes having 1 mm in diameter were created parallel to the root canal on each dentin slice with a diamond bur. The holes were filled with MTA-Angelus, Biodentine, or BIOfactor MTA. Wet gauze was placed over the specimens and samples were stored in an incubator at $37^{\circ}C$ for 7 days to allow complete setting. Then samples were subjected to the push-out test method using a universal test machine with the loading speed of 1 mm/min. Data was statistically analyzed using Friedman test and post hoc Wilcoxon signed rank test with Bonferroni correction. Results: There were no significant differences among the push-out bond strength values of MTA-Angelus, Biodentine, and BIOfactor MTA (p > 0.017). Most of the specimens exhibited cohesive failure in all groups, with the highest rate found in Biodentine group. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, MTA-Angelus, Biodentine, and BIOfactor MTA showed similar resistances to the push-out testing.
