  • Bluetooth technology is essentially a method for wireless connectivity of a diverse set of devices ranging from PDAs, mobile phone, notebook computers, to another equipments, The bluetooth system both point-to point connection and point-to multipoint connection. In point-to multipoint connection, the channel is shared among several bluetooth devices. Two or more devices sharing the same channel form a piconet. There one master device and up to seven active slave devices in a piconet. The radio operates in the unlicensed 2.45GHz ISM band. This allows users who travel world-wide to use bluetooth equipments anywhere. Since the link is based on frequency-hop spread spectrum, multiple channels can exist at the same time. The bluetooth standard ha s been suggested that bluetooth equipments can be used in the short-range, maximum 100 meters. It has been defined that the time takes to setup and establish a bluetooth connection among devices is 10 seconds. It is a long time and may be a cause to lose a chance of finding other non-fixed devices. We propose a routing protocols for scatternets which can be used to control a mobile units(MUs) in this network. The proposed routing protocol is composed of two kinds of bluetooth information, access point(AP) and MU.

  • Both coordinated multi-point transmission and frequency reuse are effective approaches to mitigate inter-cell interference and improve network coverage. The motivation of this work is to explore the manner to effectively utilize the spectrum resource by reasonably combining cooperation and frequency reuse. The $Mat{\acute{e}}rn$ cluster process, which is appropriate to model networks with hot spots, is used to model the spatial distribution of base stations. Two cooperative mechanisms, coherent and non-coherent joint transmission (JT), are analyzed and compared. We also evaluate the effect of multiple antennas and imperfect channel state information. The simulation reveals that the proposed approach to combine cooperation and frequency reuse is effective to improve the network coverage for users located at both the center and the boundary of the cooperative region.

  • Carotid-artery stenosis may reduce cerebral perfusion, and affect cerebral neuronal activities. We examined the question of whether the recovery of cerebral-perfusion reserve after carotid-artery stenting (CAS) can affect the EEG power-spectrum. Nineteen candidates for CAS were initially recruited. Subtraction imaging of single photon emissary computerized tomography (SPECT) and an electroencephalogram (EEG) were taken twice, before and 1 month after CAS. At each time point, the EEGs were recorded before and after injection of acetazolamide (pre-ACZ EEG and post-ACZ EEG). Finally, 7 patients were enrolled after exclusion of incomplete studies. We obtained the spectral ratio (SR) of each hemisphere. SR was defined as the divided value of the power-spectrum sum of fast activities by that of slow activities. The power-spectrum values between hemispheres were compared using the inter-hemispheric index of spectral ratio (IHISR), and we examined the correlation between the power-spectrum and the cerebral-perfusion reserve. Cerebral-perfusion reserve improved after CAS on the stent side in 6 of 7 patients. In 3 patients with unilateral carotid-artery stenosis, CAS increased SR on the pre-ACZ EEGs, and IHISR on the post-ACZ EEGs. The increases of SR and IHISR were concordant with the increment of cerebral-perfusion reserve. In contrast, the results in the other patients with bilateral stenosis showed complex patterns. The SR of pre-ACZ EEGs and IHISR of post-ACZ EEGs may be useful electrophysiological markers for the blood-flow reserve after CAS in patients with unilateral carotid-artery stenosis, but not in those with bilateral stenosis.

  • This study was based on organic electroluminescence display. Especially, TPD and $\alpha-NPD$ for the hole transport materials were synthesized by Ullmann reaction. This reaction was conducted between 3methylphenylamine, 1-naphthylamine and 4,4'-diiodobiphenyl in toluene containing CuCl catalyst and KOH base. The structural property of reaction products were analyzed by FT-IR, $^1H-NMR$ spectroscopy, and thermal stability, reactivity and PL property were analyzed by melting point, yield and emission spectrum, respectively. The photoluminescence spectra of a pure TPD and $\alpha-NPD$ were observed at approximately 416nm and 438nm respectively. In this study, it was known that the melting point, yield, PL properties of TPD and $\alpha-NPD$ were changed by substituent group of amines.

  • Some materials show the character of rigid body in low frequency spectrum. The rigid body motions are consisted of translational and rotational motions. Especially, we can get the acceleration or displacement of a random point in the rigid body by analyzing rigid body transfer matrix at the car's engine and power train. Actually it is difficult to measure the acceleration by attaching the sensor inside of the engine and power train. So the hard to predict acceleration data can be achieved attaching the sensor on the outside of the engine and power train by analyzing the data of rigid body motion which the engine is operated using dynamo. Also this paper will show the change of predicted data and accuracy variation by not using all the measured data but a few exceptions of the point number.

  • This paper describes a CMOS outphasing transmitter using two wideband phase modulators. The proposed architecture can simplify the overall outphasing transmitter architecture using two-point phase modulation in phase-locked loop, which eliminates the necessity digital-to-analog converters, filters, and mixers. This architecture is verified with a WCDMA signal at 1.65 GHz. The prototype is fabricated in standard 130 nm CMOS technology. The measurement results satisfied the spectrum mask and 4.9% EVM performance.

  • In general, the load which acts on the structure is almost independent of time in many locations. In this case. It is difficult to estimate the life with the service load history, because the structure is on the multi- axial and multi-point loading states. In this study, the service load of the excavator which is widely used in industry field was calculated using measured cylinder pressures and displacements. The fatigue life was estimated using the multi-axial and multi-point load counting method. Service load history of 4 pin joint which act independently each other is yielded by mult-axial and multi-point load counting method. The stress spectrum is yielded by superposition of the results of FEM stress analysis applied unit load. Palm- gren-Miner's cumulative Damage is 0.000804 for Von Mises equivalent stress sequence by one side fillet weld S-N curve. This result agress with Bench test results. As a result of this study, the fatigue life esti- mation using the multi-axial and multi-axial and multi-point load counting method is useful.

  • General location aware systems are only applied to indoor and outdoor environments using more than three transmitters to estimate a fixed object location. Those kinds of systems have environmental restrictions that require an already established infrastructure. To solve this problem, an Object Location Estimation (OLE) algorithm based on PTP (Point To Point) communication has been proposed. However, the problem with this method is that deduction of performance parameters is not enough and location estimation is very difficult because of unknown restriction conditions. From experimental tests in this research, we determined that the performance parameters for restriction conditions are a maximum transmission distance of CSS communication and an optimum moving distance interval between personal locations. In this paper, a system applied OLE algorithm based on PTP communication is implemented using a CSS (Chirp Spread Spectrum) communication module. A maximum transmission distance for CSS communication and an optimum moving distance interval between personal locations are then deducted and studied to estimate a fixed object location for generalization.

  • In this paper, we propose a new algorithm that obtains the surfac eorientation of the texture image using structural approaches. The proposed method showed that structural approaches can be effectively used in 3-D analysis of textures as well as description and segmentation without additional information. By examining fourier power spectrum of the texture image, we detemine the tilt of the textured surface. Then, 1-D projection information of the texture in the obtained tilt direction is used to compute the slant. Using the obtained information, we can compute the vanishing point, and rearrange the textured surface with lines converging to the vanishing point and lines perpendicular to the tilt direction. In the experimental results, we have ascertained the proposed algorithm can make a rpecise 3-D analysis of structural textures.
