Survey on Contents of Heavy Metals in Shellfishes (패류중의 중금속 함량조사)

  • This survey was performed to find out the heavy metal concentrations in shellfishes. Experimental subjects were 60 cases in 10 kinds of shellfishes purchased in markets in july, august, 1987 and february, 1988. Contents of lead, cadmium, zinc, copper and mangangese were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometer and mercury contents by mercury analyzer. The results were as follows: The range of mercury contents in shellfishes was from ND to 0.22 ppm, cadmium from 0.22 to 2.46 ppm, lead from 0.09 to 4.90 ppm, copper from 0.62 to 12.45 ppm, manganese from 0.09 to 13.8 ppm and zinc from 4.01 to 129.96 ppm.

  • In this paper, intermediate cyan coupler was prepared by the reaction of 2-nitro-4, 6-dichloro-5-methylphenol with Pd(5wt%). The product was identified by using various analytical tools such as melting point, elemental analyzer, IR spectrophotometer and mass spectrometer. The reaction of intermediate cyan coupler with CD-3(color development agent) was shown cyan color.

  • The contents of ascorbic acid in milk and fermented milk, yogurt added with fruits were determined by 2.6-dichlorophenol indophenol method using a Spectrophotometer. Threes sample of fruit milks and three of fruit yogurts were collected from the several markets in Busan City. The amounts of the vitamin as the reduced form were 0.16 mg/100m1 of strawberry milk, 0.31mg/100m1 of orange milk, and 0.08mg/100m1 of banana milk. The vitamin was not detected from the fermented fruit yogurt samples.

  • Five crystal modification of droperidol were prepared by recrystallization. They were characterized by UV spectrophotometer, DSC, and X-ray crystallography. Their dissolution pa tterns were also investigated. After storage of 2 months at 100% humidity, all polymorphic modifications were transformed.

  • NH$_{3}$ gas sensitive ZnO:Al, In thin films were prepared by the heat treatment following continuous deposition of very thin In layer and ZnO:Al layer to obtain the modified surface morphology for good sensitivity. Dependence of the structural electrical and optical properties of them on heat treatment temperature was investigated by x-ray diffraction, SEM, 4-point probe method and spectrophotometer.

  • Authors developed the computer application program (language: APPLE SOFT BASIC) for derivative spectrophotometry. By means of this program, derivative of spectral absorbance with respect to wavelength is recorded versus wavelength. To try this program in connection with spectrophotometer system, the authors have done the simultaneous quantitation of pyridoxine center dot HCl and nicotinamide in the mixture, and the result was compared with that of absorbance method.

  • Image quality analysis has been carried out for both monochrome and colour print images obtained by a calibrated low-end scanner. The analysis method is based upon ISO13660 for monochrome images and additional criteria for colour quality that we have defined. We have compared performance of the calibrated scanner with that of a high-end spectrophotometer in terms of several aspects such as line and large area. They have provided similar results without significant discrepancy.

  • This study was carried out to determine the content of heavy metals in chalks. Samples were collected from 5 manufacturing companies of chalk. The content of lead and cadmium were analyzed by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The average content of lead was 22.0 ppm, and the range 6.4 - 50.9 ppm. 2. The average content and the range were 4.1 ppm and 2.8 - 4.8 ppm respectively.

  • The activity of the lipase and phospholipase extracted from the seed meal of Nicotiana tabacum L. was studied with the help of Spectrophotometer at different pH, Temperatures and Solvents. Both lipase and phospholipase shown optimum activity at pH 6 and $45^{\circ}C$. Their activities also maximize when n-heptane was used as solvent media.
